Cheers for another vid, Ron. Considering the gemini ii are a lot more expensive. It seems like the bose is a nice balance between quality and price. (The ultras are already on sale)
Couple of heavyweights! I love the sound of the Devialet’s. They are my favorite for music right now. Bose are good too…can’t beat the noise canceling which is one of the things I want the most in an earbud.
I had the original Gemini and didn't use them much. They sounded great but the BT connection and app were flaky and the case was HUGE. I ordered the Gemini 2 using their Upgrade program that made them only a touch more money than the Sony XM5 and Bose Ultras. This time around, the connectivity and app have been rock-solid and the case is much better. The sound is absolutely phenomenal! I actually prefer listening with these over my B&W Px8's that sell for nearly double the price. The only struggle for me right now is finding a good eartip as the Gemini 2 just don't fit my smaller ears well. I tried Comply tips and on your recommendation am trying the Spinfits although the CP360 aren't available anywhere that I've looked so I'm trying their Omni instead. BTW, I recently flew with my Gemini 2 and their ANC worked great! Multi-point works great, too.
Both have great punchy bass. The QC Ultra has that Immersive Mode, which gives them a even better sound. The Gemini II has better clarity to go with that punchy bass. IMO, if bass is what you're only looking for, you cannot go wrong either way.
I just finished testing both headphones, my conclusion is similar, the Gimini are superior as far as sound quality is concerned, you can describe Bose and the other mass market headphones in its price range as a very good hifi, they have Great bass, sit firmly on the ear so maybe they are a better choice for exercise, treble is clear and there good detail in the sound which does impress till you hear the Gemini and then you start to remember how bass should sound like and the small details in the sound start to be audible, it’s called high end folks, it’s a different league and that’s why it costs more. It is currently on the top of my list, technics AZ80 dropped to second place and Bose is third due to it fantastic bass. Ps, for what it is worth if you are not an audiophile and don’t listen to high resolution music don’t spend more money on the Gemini or other expensive high resolution earbuds because they would not make poor quality music sound better and the Bose might actually sound better because it would shave off the imperfections in the music quality.
The gemini is just a better sound, hi res or not. I'd rather use the gemini for listening to a crappy random download that use a bose, because the gemini will mske it good.
@@jasonMB999 When I compare both of them almost at the same time I actually realised that the QC ultra don’t produce a singer’s voice in a natural manner, that was the point where all the ANC and comfort advantages were irrelevant to me
@@jasonMB999 The noise cancelling is the best in its class too. Ps if I didn’t know how the Gemini 2 sounds like I could have easily praised Bose for its sound quality
I just got the devialet Gemini 2 and there absolutely god tier sound and the volume and soundstage insane, but I’m super bummed that there is no off mode just anc or transparency like what, did you hear anything about that possibly being added I emailed then to ask cuz this may be a deal breaker but I really don’t wanna have to get rid of these but anc gives me a headache and transparency let’s too much in and changes sound a little. Love the videos.
@@theunserious bought some used ones for $50 and had a $20 off coupon. but when I got em the charging case was faulty so I contacted Sony and they replaced them with new ones so no they are not fake at all. Straight from Sony 😁
I think the Gemini’s against the Denon Pro’s will decide which ones I get, because if they’re beating even the Bose QC Ultra’s for sound there’s not a lot they can’t beat, although the mid tier ANC is a bit of a worry.
You wont be able to pair with your computer unless it has a bluetooth module/adaptor preinstalled. The good news is you can just buy a cheap Bluetooth adapter for USB and then you can use any bluetooth devices with it (which is what I did). Although if you are getting lots of high end audio, its better to get a PCI-E bluetooth adaptor, they are still easy to install just more expensive around $50
Gemini 2 !!!! Awesome Ron !!! Thank you my friend !! Those one (gemini 2) will be my christmas gift for me from me :) I just told my wife: honey, Ron found me another purchase. she looked at me laughing and said: if it's Ron it's perfectly fine honey 😂😂😂
I’m torn between these two. The Gemini seem a step up in sound quality (my top priority) but it would seem the Bose are a step above the Gemini in terms of ANC (my close second priority)….decisions, decisions….any thoughts guys?
I feel the exact same way you do. It is a hard decision. If NC is important there is no better one than the Bose. I think if I had to choose just one I would lean toward the Bose. They have a type of sound that is like no other bud and you can’t beat the noise canceling. The Devialet are tops for me on pure sound right now but just mid-tier on NC.
@1964karlos I have to agree with @causely1956 about the ANC. The sound is improve when using the Immersive Audio feature. Other than that, they sound the same as the QC II, IMO.
Cheers for another vid, Ron.

Have you had a chance to listen to the Denons?
Agreed. The Bose's ANC is the best in the industry, hands down. The Immersive Audio mode definitely improves their sound.
@@joshchacko7729 I haven’t. I have the Nura’s and I haven’t had the nerve to buy the Denons yet.

Thanks for sharing. I had the original Gemini earbuds and returned them for various reasons. I'm very impressed with this edition.
Which is better for a punchy and impactful bass. Is the difference in bass really that significant?
Both have great punchy bass. The QC Ultra has that Immersive Mode, which gives them a even better sound. The Gemini II has better clarity to go with that punchy bass. IMO, if bass is what you're only looking for, you cannot go wrong either way.

No problem!
Hi Ron,
what do you think about the battery life of the Gemini 2? Seems a bit poor for todays earphones
Agreed. But it depends on how you listen to them. I was able to get about 5 hours out of mine. But I don't listen to mine at max volume.

No. I haven't heard anything about them adding that in a future update. Hopefully they will do that.
You never tested or compared beoplay ex ear buds?
I'm working on it. It's coming.

You can by putting them in pairing mode. I was successful in doing it. My laptop picked them up immediately.
