A middle-aged man who rarely wears headphones had a sudden whim this time and spent a lot of money on buying this pair. Wow, I want to say, although it's expensive, it's totally worth it. I love it! The comfort and sound quality are top-notch. I wear it all the time every day.❤❤
Some people had balance issue with the new QC headphones. One person had that issue even with replacement. No one has reported same about the Ultra's though.
How does it sound for the person on the line. They often complain to me that the microphone is picking up random background noise and for them, because I don't notice it, it is distracting or even blocks my voice entirely.
I tried these at the airport and couldn't believe what I'm hearing. The ANC is incredible and I must say the spatial audio, which typically is an annoying gimmick, was actually darn impressive and immersive - to the point that I literally TOOK OFF the headphones to see if they have mounted extra speakers in front of me somewhere.

Nice video Mike. To me the mic sounded better when you were outside with heavy traffic behind you than when you were inside. Sounded a little soft and distant when you were inside.
I always use the immersion option, especially when having long-distance or online calls where the internet connection is low. This mode is heavy; otherwise, you need to disconnect your regular headphones and try to listen using a headset. Secondly, immersion mode is so good in the office while working. You just need more of its use or in a virtual meeting, you require more clarity. It is amazing
I've been using the Bose QuietComfort Ultra for almost a month now, and I can confidently say that I love them. Whether I'm at the gym or working at home, these headphones have been performing really well. They stay securely in place even during intense leg day workouts. I've done Romanian deadlifts, hip thrusts, and lying leg curls, and the headphones rarely fall off.
Havent u got by any chance a popping sound when working out or walking a little heavily ? Mine has this horrible popping sound i don’t know if it’s normal or not when i move my head a little fast and so on
@@glomslafripouille5608mine has the same, I’ve also seen various other people on forums complain about this, but nowhere a video to address this issue, sending mine back due to this.. sure, I know they are not intended to be used on a run and I am looking into in ears for that, but why would the app literally have a “run” mode preset which you can add to your preferences if the experience on a run is absolutely horrendous….
Hi there! I recently got the famous Bose QC Ultra Headphones, and I can confirm that despite the drivers (speakers) being similar to the Bose NCH 700, this very recent model sounds even better than its predecessor. I also have the Sony WH-1000-XM4, and find that the QC Ultra's sound signature is much clearer than the Sony model. What's more, a little adjustment of the well-rounded bass, and the midrange drive the point home even further. *As a preventive measure, I'd advise you *not to exceed 65% volume, and to take a few listening breaks for the sake of your ears (e.g. 15 to 20 minutes for 1 hour's listening).* Indeed, these headphones have a lot in reserve, and I didn't notice any major sound distortion, which is very good quality. But be careful with your ears, because they're really powerful! And yes, the sound is very clear! Lightweight (257 grams), it folds neatly and has a wider, more comfortable headband. The depth of the speakers (especially for big ears - you don't sweat as much as with Sony headphones) and its active noise reduction are truly impressive! Somewhat superior to Apple's Air Pods Max, that is! For the moment (2023), in concrete terms, *it's the best noise-canceling headset!* At the same time, it's the most recent. We'll see how it fares next year (2024), with the future Sony WH-1000-XM6 and Apple Air Pods Max 2. The "attentive" (transparent) mode is a real success! A notch below the Air Pods Max, and a good notch above the WH-1000-XM4/5. You can clearly hear everything around you. The immersive mode is a bit of a gimmick, as it gives the impression that the soundstage is getting bigger, but I still find it well worthwhile, especially for films and video games! That's another world! I also note that this mode is a little more energy-hungry in terms of this product's autonomy (around 19h35 for me, as opposed to the 18 hours announced by Bose). In fact, as far as battery life is concerned, I think that Bose has underestimated its headphones, because without the immersive mode, and staying at 60~65% maximum volume, I've actually gone up to around 30 hours. The official press release claims 24 hours' autonomy. . What's more, a mode (even two) designed to cleverly save battery power has been integrated: _ Like Apple and Sony, the sound stops when the QC Ultra is removed... And restarts once the device is placed back on the head. _ Automatic sleep mode, when the headset is removed for a long time. It restarts automatically when put back on. Automatic pairing, no headaches, it works like a charm. Multipoint is amply correct, and the solid Bluetooth is certified in 5.3 (the latest available), which is much better in terms of wireless connection stability. A very good point in itself. The WH-1000-XM4 (which is in bleuetooth 4.2) that I've owned since 2021 can cut out from time to time for no reason at the moment... I don't know why. Maybe it's due to my smartphone being almost full of internal memory? I don't know. In any case, I no longer have this little inconvenience with the Bose QC Ultra. The application is nice and quite rich! It's straight to the point, and somewhat less sophisticated than Sony's, whose geekiness is its specialty. As for the buttons, they're all located on the right speaker, behind the ear. A touch-sensitive surface for volume, and incidentally a personalized touch-sensitive button (press for 2 seconds in the middle of the touch-sensitive surface and that's it), either to obtain a voice assistant, or to indicate battery level or something else, for example... Personally, I opted for the battery level. How convenient! And in terms of physical buttons, there are only 2. . The first, at the bottom of the right-hand speaker, is reserved for switching on the headset. . The second button is located a little higher up, towards the rear of the speaker. . The second button is located a little higher up, towards the back of the speaker. This button allows: _ 1 short click: play / pause; 1 long click: change mode (immersive, attentive, silent - additional modes can be added and/or removed, such as the outdoor mode with its more or less successful optional "windbreaker" function, for example); _ 2 quick clicks: next track; _ 3 quick clicks: previous track. Personally, I find these two physical buttons rather instinctive and less headache-inducing (100% subjective, of course). As for the tactile part, I find it better thought-out than the NCH 700 and the Sony WH-1000-XM4/5, in the sense that there's no tactile conflict when unwanted rubbing occurs, such as fabric rubbing when you're in bed, or when you're putting on a hood. The left speaker features a USB-C input for headphone charging only, and an input for... A 2.5 mm jack!... The 2.5 mm jack... I'll never understand why that is... Especially as the headphones must be switched on to be effective(!)... I really don't understand this choice... As far as phone calls are concerned, the people I'm talking to can hear me clearly, even when there's a lot of noise around me! It's not as sophisticated as the Air Pods Max, but it's still one of the most effective. My voice is clearly audible, and it's possible to adjust the volume of the voice when telephoning via the headset. I write this because none of the testers mentioned this detail generally. Unfortunately, it's impossible to obtain lossless sound via a wired USB-C cable (which is quite incomprehensible to me, especially given its high price at the moment). The French Batys headphones, for example (albeit more expensive than the QC Ultra), make this possible. Finally, the price is high (499€) for the moment, but will inevitably drop in the coming months (logically). And then the bargains will start rolling in over the coming year. It has to be! So, I've tried to be as complete as possible about my pleasant experience with these Bose Quiet Confort Ultra Headphones. Expensive, yes, it's undeniable, but very pleasant to hold, not at all uncomfortable on the head, light and very comfortable, this top-of-the-range headset (2023) does quite well, if not very well. A special mention for the active noise reduction, which so far puts it ahead of Apple and Sony. All in all, this headset is a success, far from flawless, let's be honest, but what it does, it does really well. Very satisfied overall. Oh yes, I almost forgot: *the ear pads are detachable and therefore replaceable, in case of any long-term wear and tear.* Thanks for your work sir! Respect!👍🏾🔥 Hoping for interesting updates (USB-C wired sound, I dream of it! x) ) to come! Looking forward to hearing from you!
@@MikeOBrienMediaI was whether i should get these or the anc 2 skull candy headphones ? I want headphones for more of everyday use which ones have more bass you think
Thank you. I just got these today and was struggling with how to turn them on. Oh, I have to put the headset on my head! Got it. And that little ridge adjusts the volume! Cool. I thought they were broken. So that's the stage I'm at. Your video is the first sound I'm listening to. You sound great 👍 I will be watching your video again. I also downloaded the app and set up my account. Thank you so much for helping me get started. By the way I can't hear my parrots 🦜 squawking in the background at all. I love these already!
The fact that Apple's Airpod Max’s were released in 2020, and they are still among the top is crazy to me. Apple updating them later this year. I'll still pick a pair of these up and try them out
@@CarlWiganerUK I will never understand who thought that 'carry case' was sufficient. They still use the same case, even with the updated USB-C ones. It's utterly ridiculous. I wholeheartedly disagree with your statement that the headphones are awful. Evidently, they're not or wouldn't sell so well or be as highly reviewed. Nor, as I mentioned, would we compare much newer headphones to the old Max's. They are heavy, but the weight is distributed. For someone who sits at a desk while wearing them I find no issue with the weight. I've since moved on from them to the Bowers & Wilkins Px8. I was undwhelmend by the Bose in this vid. If I had to chose between them and the Max I'd stick with the Max.
I had these about a month. I love the sound absolutely brilliant! The app is not super customizable but good enough. The ANC is great! The best you can buy hence the price tag. BUT I kept really dizzy, vertigo type feeling and had to return them. If I didn't have issue, which I have never had on other headphones I would have kept them. I am now trying the Sony XM5, so far no issues a few days in. I do miss the Bose QC Ultra sound though.
@@makesense2931I think it's the NC, I tried some Bose headphones that have NC and I think I know what they're talking about. It's not horrible for me tho so I'm not sure
I need to upgrade from my Bose NC 700 but one feature I really love with them is when Im connected to both Iphone and laptop (mac) there is seemless handover without me doing anything. For example: listening to music on my laptop and the phone calls. It then pauses the video or music on my laptop and goes over to the phone and gives me the option to answer which I can do with just tapping the headphones. If I decline or when im finished talking on the phone. My music/video on my laptop plays again. Are you saying that is not the case with the Ultras?
I know your big video got tons of views but I super appreciate your video. I’ve spent at least a dozen hours trying to decide what to buy. I’m bedridden and I have multiple fans - to include a mini split and a carpet drying fan - directed directly at me because I can’t regulate my body temp well after my injury and I’m always really hot. I am also hard of hearing and my hearing aids do NOT work well in my bedroom environment that I’ve been in 24/7 for the last 12 years. I also want to wear them to sleep. Even my shooting hearing protection doesn’t touch the noise in here. So ANC is the most important thing for me- at the 62hz and 2200hz levels specifically. Most of my fans including the motors run at these frequencies. I just ordered the Diamond White Ultras. If they aren’t perfect after minor adjustments such as wind blockers over the ANC mics then I’m on to something else. I’ve also considered an in-ear Jabra 4 to cover the low end and over ear to cover the high end noise cancelling. Let’s hope I can find something. I did grab the Jabra 8 Gen 2 to use under my over-ears because it seems 98% of headphones don’t cover both frequencies I need but does one particularly well. For listening I have my Tribrid IEMs but I can see using the over ears for hifi listening or even TV. Here’s hoping these fit the bill.
The immersion feature is amazing. It really feels more surround sound and like the music is coming from in front of you (or beside you when turning head) while still having great sound quality and the bass is definitely there. Good soundstage and instrument separation. I don't think the Ultras are as comfortable as the regular qc, as they have a tighter feel, but I definitely recommend them and the immersive audio feature is great. Wish they had better color options.
Amazing review!! I’ve been dicey about these since a while and wanted an in depth review of it, this was just that, crisp and to the point, definitely closing the purchase soon. Thank you so much!
Mike, are these Bose Ultras really that good? I was seriously considering splashing out on the Sennheiser Momentum 4's until I happened upon your excellent upload. Love from Dublin 👊🏼🇮🇪👊🏼
I have the Sony WH-1000XM5 and Bose QC Ultra. The QC Ultra has great bass, good mids and ear friendly highs. Noise cancelation and transparency mode are excellent too. The Bose QC Ultra are so much fun.
Got my Ultras a few days ago, some early observations: - My good ol' QC45 have some white noise that I actually really like, it's very mild and 'smooth', rather relaxing when I use them to just block out the world without playing music. Now the Ultra's background noise is noticeably louder and has a higher pitch. Noticed the same with the Ultras Earbuds when I tried them. Don't know, maybe I'll get used to it, maybe I won't. - The codec-situation is rather unfortunate. You glossed over this but only very few smartphones are compatible with 'Snapdragon Sound' and if they aren't the fallback for the Ultra isn't regular aptX, it's AAC! For example everything from Samsung will only offer AAC. Afaik not even the Google Pixels support 'Snap Sound'. Why, Bose, why? This isn't acceptable at this price-point. Also people are still waiting for the promised aptX support for the Earbuds II. For shame. - Sound quality is certainly better compared to the QC45 but still worse than my Px7 S2, those just sound fuller with better bass. Gonna fiddle around with the EQ, maybe lower the highs somewhat. - Build quality is okay but there are some rough/sharp edges and the plastic is scuffed in some places which others have noticed on theirs too. Feels better than the QC45 but gets clobbered by the Px7 S2. Which weighs more though. Overall not as premium as the price suggests. - Comfort in general seems to be on par with the QC45.
Finally someone also found the sharp edges issue! I saw the plastic surface of the earcups were clearly scuffed. There are also some other quality issues. It's such a shame Bose does not do a good quality control. I really like the ANC, comfort, and bass. Now I am wearing Px7 S2e.
When connected through the cable jack, the QC35 II sound feels more natural compared to the distorted sound the Ultra provide. And what's even more important: QC35 II can function without any battery at all: just through the jack. ULTRA headphones CAN'T. And that's so sad. Because that means you always need to have some battery left and work artificially powered up. When editing sound for hours, that is just pure involution and a headache. As for the rest, when moving around, oh yeah, Ultra's performance is utterly amazing, they are light, the immersive feat is incredible and the noise cancellation is astonishing: best in town via bluetooth. But hey: if at some point the battery were finally to die, you can throw these beauties away for good. And that's not happening to 2017's QC35 II. Battery died after 7 years and I'm still using them when editing: and that's the truthful sound you could ever hear. I wish BOSE would change that and Ultra could also work when they're off.
@ They live up to their name! Noise cancelling is otherworldly and they are very comfortable. The sound quality probably won’t satisfy audiophiles, but it’s good enough for most people including me
I purchased the Lunar Blue ones a week ago and I’m very pleased with them so far. The ANC is top tier, I love the comfort of them. I like the case. I do wish the charging cord was a bit longer but I’ve been using them for multiple things such as music, conference calls, video and the sound quality is great. The app is simple enough and easy to navigate. Switching devices is simple enough of course with apple products there is a slight lag but not too noticeable atleast from what I’ve experienced so far
I bought these for the quiet modes. The work really good. I have no complaints, but the controls take some getting used to. I wear them a lot and they do not cause my ears to sweat. No here is my only issue, not problem: the supplied cable/cord used to plug in to a a device is tricky because one end is smaller than the other. I spent a while cussing and fussing (59 yr old, retired Marine). The sound quality is not the best, but I did not purchase these for sound quality, but it is good enough. This was gooooood money spent. They do not eliminate all noise, just muffle it. I can put them on and not hear my co-workers or the machinery in the background. Really good product.
I knew I'd like this reviewer (1st time here, don't you know!) when he mentioned the unusually long amount of time to get these started and connected. No other reviewer I watched noted this (I read 6 to 8 reviews total). I have stop-watch timed it to be 13.6 seconds compared to 3 to 5 seconds on my PX-7 2se's, and near immediately with my AirPod Max. It is ***very frustrating*** when wishing to answer a phone call and to have the caller give up, then have to go to voice mail to clear the message they left after calling them back. I do agree with all of the pluses mentioned and wear mine for 6 to 10 hours straight without discomfort. BTW, I can do that with the PX-7 2se's as well. These really are to be recommended. Hope this helps, best wishes!
You have to be Nate O’Brien’s brother, right? I have been subbed to him for years and as soon as I started watching this review I noticed your dialect sounded exactly like him, not to mention you guys look alike and have the same last name.
I used qc35II for about 3 years. I used them only at home. Loved them! But there were some things I hated as well, like micro-usb, hard to replace cushions, battery replacement is very difficult, so I never did, and they looked like they were made for office use. Then, switched to the XM4 (sadly, right before xm5 came out). Miss QC35II's comfort. Maybe these Ultra will fit me better then XM4? If I buy them, it's for a long time. Is it any easier to replace the cushions(I replace them every 6-7 months) Batteries and cushions should be easily user-replaceable in tech like this.
7:37 I take my last comment back. Thank you for showing how to fold these headsets and put them in either the hard shell or in this case, the soft bag. There is not a single instruction in the Bose box pertaining to these headsets and frankly for the price, I’ve been very disappointed in the lack of literature and introduction to the product so thank you for producing this video.
I really would like to know how well this set resists scratches. I am tempted to buy them but when I tried the Bose quiet comfort ultra, they really do not look resistant. They are made of plastic and quite frankly, they look cheap. The design is amazing, don’t get me wrong but they don’t look like they can hold for a while without being damaged. Thank you in advance for the feedback
Thanks for the review! Keep up the great content. I think for an ultimate headphone comparison you should also add the bowers and Wilkins px7 s2e and the Bang-Olufsen beoplay HX to the mix
I got these too and like them. The only irritations I have is that the wake up doesn’t reliably connect back to my phone. Sometimes does but maybe half the time doesn’t and I have to manually reboot them. The second issue I have I find strange. The volume when plugged into the physical headphone cable is much much lower than it is when wireless. Wireless, these are arguably too loud at max, but when wired I have to turn them to max to hear much of anything.
I have the Sony XM4. Previously I had Bose QC35. The noise cancellation is no comparison, no matter what anyone says. Reason I got Sony was supposed to be great noise cancellation, absolutely nothing compared to Bose. Ordered these now.
Hey, I also have the Sony XM4 right now and thinking of upgrading to the Bose QC ultra. Would you recommend upgrading? How is the comfort compared to the XM4? Is there any cabin pressure? Thank you in advance
@kibalix8823 I bought the xm4 because there was so many positive video reviews about it but I had to return them, was so disappointed the sound is okay but the base is not there and they're not loud enough to my liking, picked up the ultra and honestly they are so worth it, best headphones I've ever had. There's no cabin pressure and they are super comfortable
Hi! do these work with cable while turned off? or do I need to have them on? I believe the quitecomfort 45 require to have them turned on for them to work with a cable
I have the non-ultra ones, and I never turned it on and plugged a third-party cable in it and the other end to the laptop and it works fine. Like normal headphones. Of course, I might not be getting the features it comes with, without turning them on. But they work.
Hi Mike..great video all as usual..wonder if yo are able to please include the B & O BEOPLAY HX with your "ultimate comparison video" not sure if you've done it yer??
I'm planing to get a pair of this headphone, but i wanted to ask if it's easy to lost bluetooth connection to your phone? Because I saw there's some reviews say that the bluetooth connection of this headphone is not very good
Has anyone else experienced the plastic hinges being noisy? The hinges on my pair that I bought recently keep clicking and being overall noisy with the movement of my jaw and when I walk etc. I hear it especially on the right one. It gets annoying Maybe it will pass when I have used them more, let them warm up properly or whatever
How does it sound for the person on the line. They often complain to me that the microphone is picking up random background noise and for them, because I don't notice it, it is distracting or even blocks my voice entirely.
I think you should also have the xm4 and the bose 700. I think comparing the older, more money friendly models will be much more of a relevent option for many people due to their discounted price. Thanks!
Really looking forward to getting a set (they’re arriving tomorrow). I have a thing for headphones and i loved the nc700, best sound and nc out of all mine. On a whim bought the bowers and Wilkins px7 and was/am disappointed with their sound quality although I feel the build quality is better and the battery lasts a lot longer. Anyway, making a short story long I’m looking forward to these 😂
How are they for durability? I use xm4s and have been for almost 3 years but the hinge broke last week and I’m not sure how long epoxy will last and I don’t like the looks of the xm5s durability wise
Been checking out your channel for awhile.. I do not need the most expensive headphone. But I'm searching for the most comfortable headphone, which would you recommend
If you set an equalizer through the Mobile APP, does that load into the Headphones so that when you connect to another device, like a PC there is still the Equalizer in effect?
Just bought the Senheiser momentum4 very disappointed as there were a lot of static noise while using it, also the pause/play sensor did not work, had to return to Best Buy, so am considering Bose QC Ultra
Hey I just came across your video, found it very interesting. I have one concern regarding the headphones and that is when i raise the volume up, seems like it leaves the headphones everyone who is around me can hear the music. Is that normal?
I just returned mine today. It definitely has a pretty wide soundstage but I expected more from the spatial audio feature. Also the mid range is bit muddy, sound is overall bit unnatural though music elements separation is prety awesome. I did hear musical bits which I hadn't before.. Lastly overall build quality should have been better given the $400 price tag.
The sound is really Quiet. In Immersive Audio mode, I have turned all the volume up. Unlike my XM3 which I never be able to do that as it is really loud.
Im trying these out now and comparing to the Momentum 4s. Both have great sound quality, but I like the QC Ultra better. I feel like the bass is better, and the immersive/spatial audio feature does enhance a lot of the music I listen to. The Momentum 4 touch controls are a bit too janky to cost that much. They would often not work and I found myself consistently resetting the headphones to get the touch controls to work again. The QC Ultras are a bit wonky in terms of connecting to the app and just turning them on can be a pain and take forever sometimes, but I don't find them as annoying as the Momentum 4. The ultras do this thing where I turn them on and they make the sound but dont connect to my device. I do think the Momentum 4's build quality and style is much better though. Im coming from the Soundcore Q35s and wanted to see what an expensive pair would get me. As of now I, really like the QC Ultras, but idk if the price tag is really worth it. Right now you can catch the Momentum 4 on sale for $250, which I feel is probably the most they should cost.
I also was having issues getting the QC ultras to switch on. Turns out you're just supposed to press the power on button, and not long press it until you hear a sound.
@zakariyyagardee8934 aahhh. Sounds like I should've paid closer attention to the instructions lol. I had to return them anyway, I believe they were causing an allergic reaction for me.
You should try the Focal Bathys in your comparison video, it would be good to have some other headphones that compete at the same price point as the airpods max
I can't find how to mute a phone call or during meetings? They've told me to double press the action button, but that doesn't work. Can someone let me know how to do this?
But these only work if you have them on your ears. If you have them around your leg or anywhere else on your body you don’t hear anything. Is it just mine or are they meant to be like that? I might just return them and try another model.
I bought a pair of these 2 months ago. I was initially very pleased with them. However, when listening to movies on disc or my Smart Tv, I get latency that drives me crazy. The lips don't sync with the voice sound. So....I tried to connect them to my receiver with a cable. Terrible. Low volume and they distort when I try to raise the volume. I swapped out cables, adaptors etc to troubleshoot. No change. I contacted Bose and they replaced my headphones under warranty. They arrived yesterday and I tested them. Same issue. Terrible. Has anyone else had this issue? I bought a set of wired Audio Tehnicas a couple of weeks ago and they sound phenomenal. No distortion connected to my receiver. I'm contacting Bose again this morning and if the problem is innate to the Ultras, I may sell them. Don't like this at all.
@@liquidmetal718 Follow up on my issue. I had contacted Denon and Bose several times to find a solution to this problem and nothing seemed to work. Finally, by chance, I got a Denon tech on the phone who offered a possible solution. Instead of synching the headphones to my receiver, he had me synch them to my Smart (Samsung TV). Problem solved! The only glitch is the volume isn't controlled by the remote (for receiver control). I control the volume with the touch pad on the right headphone. So, bottom line, I have two sets of headphones (wired....Auto Technical) and wireless (Bose). I'm very happy with both. Their performance has enough differences to make using both, a pleasurable experience. I spent an incredible amount of time on this problem and was ready to give up. And I am tech savvy. I can't imagine what people do when they have no technical skill sets. I guess, pay someone to come to the house and solve the problems.

Hey, I just bought a pair of Bose QC ultra and was disappointed by their hissing (constant white noise). It's easily audible, especially in quiet environments, and it's not what I'd name a "silence". Moreover, during listening to music at a bit low volume, the hissing is still audible. This hissing is further amplified in Aware mode. Can you advise whether it is ok or is it a faulty pair? P.S. I used to have Sony XM-5 and there was absolutely no hissing so I'm a bit confused rn. How it comes that Sony managed to create headphones with no static white noise with pretty much the same ANC whereas Bose has this constant hissing in both ANC and Aware modes. This just substitutes one source of noise with another one!
Shure aonic 40 should be there for studio quality sound but make sure you tweek the listening profile in the app with the massive amount of sound frequency changes you can make in the app and the noise cancelling ain't bad also USBC hi res listening for pure digital sound

I don't know why my third-party cable between my laptop and the headphones, won't plug in all the way to these headphones. Even though the jack is 2.5mm and they did plug in all the way into the previous QuietComfort headphones. Good I still have those, so I am back to using those.

This separation is made by the headphone? Is not editing? Its impresive if so

The jet noise cancelling chart helped me decide :) Very thankful for this review
Airpods 2nd generation is better. Really. I have both. I know
I always use the immersion option, especially when having long-distance or online calls where the internet connection is low.
Mine has this horrible popping sound i don’t know if it’s normal or not when i move my head a little fast and so on
@@glomslafripouille5608you might’ve damaged them .. have they ever got a liquid on them ?

@@glomslafripouille5608SAME! Thats the only thing i hate ab the qc ultra
15 to 20 minutes for 1 hour's listening).* Indeed, these headphones have a lot in reserve,
and I didn't notice any major sound distortion, which is very good quality.
The official press release claims 24 hours' autonomy.
. What's more, a mode (even two) designed to cleverly save battery power has been integrated:
_ Like Apple and Sony, the sound stops when the QC Ultra is removed...
This button allows:
_ 1 short click: play / pause;
1 long click: change mode (immersive, attentive, silent - additional modes can be added and/or removed, such as the outdoor mode with its more or less successful optional "windbreaker" function, for example);
_ 2 quick clicks: next track;
_ 3 quick clicks: previous track.
Oh yes, I almost forgot: *the ear pads are detachable and therefore replaceable, in case of any long-term wear and tear.*
Thanks for your work sir!
Respect!👍🏾🔥
Hoping for interesting updates (USB-C wired sound, I dream of it! x) ) to come!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

By the way I can't hear my parrots 🦜 squawking in the background at all. I love these already!
The mic inside the house sounded weird, but then i was amazed how good it blocked the outside noise
The fact that Apple's Airpod Max’s were released in 2020, and they are still among the top is crazy to me. Apple updating them later this year.
I'll still pick a pair of these up and try them out
Apple are awful, not for the way they are, but the weight is awful & that carrying case, never.
@@James-lw3gi They decided not to upgrade the chip inside the AirPod Max this year which is really dissapointing.
Theyre ok. But to me battery life sucks and they are heavy no? So that seems like it sucks to me
@ 20hrs battery life is decent.
TBH I don’t use them anymore. My daughter has inherited them.
I’m using some Bowers & Wilkins atm.
Why the vertigo issue? Something related to sensitivity to sound?
I’m planning to buy the Ultra, I’m worried after reading your review. How long did you wear them for before felt dizzy? Was the clamp force high?
@@makesense2931I think it's the NC, I tried some Bose headphones that have NC and I think I know what they're talking about. It's not horrible for me tho so I'm not sure
vertigo? was it the spatial sound option throwing off your brain?
Did you go through with the purchase? In the same scenario deciding between these, Sony Xm5 or the airpods max🌚

Mike, are these Bose Ultras really that good?
I was seriously considering splashing out on the Sennheiser Momentum 4's until I happened upon your excellent upload.
Love from Dublin 👊🏼🇮🇪👊🏼
It is so sad they don't fold. I hope the MX6 will have folding.
I have the Sony WH-1000XM5 and Bose QC Ultra. The QC Ultra has great bass, good mids and ear friendly highs. Noise cancelation and transparency mode are excellent too. The Bose QC Ultra are so much fun.
Got my Ultras a few days ago, some early observations:
- My good ol' QC45 have some white noise that I actually really like, it's very mild and 'smooth', rather relaxing when I use them to just block out the world without playing music.
Has these a few months... absolutely love!!!
Didn't miss a nook or cranny. Fantastic review! Love to see the effort you put into it, and you have helped me very much! Subscribed!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Great, thorough review. Thank you Mike!
I wish BOSE would change that and Ultra could also work when they're off.
is the comparison video ready? I need this 🥰 I’m choosing my best headphones for work and everyday using 🎉
Great review! I just got a pair after having the Bose Soundlink II for several years.
Very clear review! I ordered these, I hope they don’t disappoint me, I have very high expectations of the ANC especially
What are your thoughts?
Hey did you have problems people have talked about online like static or noises while jogging?
@ no I haven’t had any problems with static haven’t really jogged in them yet
Thank you for your service and may you have a fun week ahead mate
Can you turn of ANC completely? I know that the with QC45 you can’t deactivate it. If anyone knows thank you 🙏
These dope headphones. Got the soup stone ones when released and love them!
I know right!! its helped me muchhhh
I have the same issue
Which headphones would you suggest for gym workouts?
Why does the mic test sound so much better here than when you did your major comparison among the leading headphones?
They are literally the KINGS!!!!
Hi! do these work with cable while turned off? or do I need to have them on? I believe the quitecomfort 45 require to have them turned on for them to work with a cable
I have the non-ultra ones, and I never turned it on and plugged a third-party cable in it and the other end to the laptop and it works fine. Like normal headphones. Of course, I might not be getting the features it comes with, without turning them on. But they work.
Agree on the xm5. Also the Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2!
can you use them while charging? You didn't mention about that, you mentioned about Sony X5, it's pretty important
Thank you for a great review 👍

It gets annoying
Maybe it will pass when I have used them more, let them warm up properly or whatever
Hey! Same thing happened to me, did you find any solution for it?
Hi, thanks for this video. I would be very interested in your opinion of the composition of the Bose QC Ultra and BEOPLAY H95
Thanks!
Yea, but the xm4 still has that hinge problem. That’s the biggest reason I am staying away from the whole wh1000xm series.
Putting this headset on brough on a nostalgic feeling of what a good $200 dollar headset sounded like in the 90's with a CD player.
Anyway, making a short story long I’m looking forward to these 😂
What do you think now?
How are they for durability? I use xm4s and have been for almost 3 years but the hinge broke last week and I’m not sure how long epoxy will last and I don’t like the looks of the xm5s durability wise
Mike O'Brien Thank you for posting.
agreed
Been checking out your channel for awhile..

But I'm searching for the most comfortable headphone, which would you recommend
Would you recommend the headphones for iPhone users? Asking because of the sound resolution.

I want to hear if the wire was applied and what will be the music quality.
Bose is the Bose. It is a legend.
The sound is really Quiet. In Immersive Audio mode, I have turned all the volume up. Unlike my XM3 which I never be able to do that as it is really loud.
what gear do you use for recording, Mike
Can I use these to workout and sweat won’t ruin them?
Awesome review!! Thank you
Nice video. Does it support Apple Lossless Music?
What headphones are best for working out?
How about wired mode? Do they work passively?
I might just return them and try another model.
lmao
Does the Self Voice feature work for you? There are a lot of reports on the internet that the setting does nothing.
Which one is more comfortable for your head between Bose QC and QC Ultra?
Can they be used for gaming and if so how do they sound
My Bose QC Ultra Headphone automatically switches off after approx 20 mins ??. Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue ?
Did yall have a problem with the left side being louder or stronger in base in immersive mode
That's common problem with all bluetooth cans.
@@liquidmetal718Wearing my old Sony WH-CH510 and never had such problem. I use them with the computer, LG Smart TV, iPad and iPhone.
Ear cup size is Important. Fitting the bigger ear is a real problem. I must have bigger ears than most people. Can you help find quality and size???
This just substitutes one source of noise with another one!
i have them paired with the pc but there is no output and i have no idea how to fix that
Need the compare video with the Apple AirPod max!!!! ❤
What about B&W px7 2se ANC if you compare it?
How does these work or movies? i read that they have a dynamic setting, and it can create a surround sound combined with the bass. Can anyone confirm?
Are these more comfortable than B&W PX8?
lead singer of the Seatbelts , Detroit ...cant wait to pitch these against my bass players amp.
Shure aonic 40 should be there for studio quality sound but make sure you tweek the listening profile in the app with the massive amount of sound frequency changes you can make in the app and the noise cancelling ain't bad also USBC hi res listening for pure digital sound
You didn’t mention which type of music it’s more oriented to ,is it also good for movies, how s the space dolby with a bluray player? I think this kind of headset is not to be sweat on during a workout, to expensive😅 ,that section is irrelevant, just go earbuds .Thanks for the review!
Trying to figure out how to use voice commands
is an iphone 12 pro capable of the snapdragon audio feautures/high res?
For workout, nothing beats the soundsport with the wire. The wireless don't work as well. On my second pair 3th year.
I don't know why my third-party cable between my laptop and the headphones, won't plug in all the way to these headphones. Even though the jack is 2.5mm and they did plug in all the way into the previous QuietComfort headphones. Good I still have those, so I am back to using those.
