Trip Radar is distracting.
Please rephrase: Uber doesn’t want you to be distracted driving in app or on the phone unless you’re making them PROFIT. When money is involved, your safety means ZERO. Money first! 😂
Uber complaining about distracted driving while being the number 1 cause for me driving distracted is... something.
Yet they cover your map when sending you trips or trip radar rides
Came here to say this and they don't let you choose who to drop of first for uber eats. If one is not ready and u have the other one u can take the one that is done. Rather take the chance one person's food might be a tad colder if someone else's gets it hot. Should only allow it for orders under 3 miles.

They literally cut my app off after every 2 orders i don’t except! It just started this week and this beyond dangerous! I have to continually type my destination in if i want to do destination trips! Orders i do pick are timed out because u don’t accept the first two! Ive never seen a job or app that’s works so much against the driver! I literally before leaving my house the other day had to talk to my self and said “ let’s get ready for war” meaning the war u have with this app every day! This people who created this shit should be ashamed of themselves
Some company should compare accidents pre upfront pricing vs. now
Uber by its very nature is distracted driving.
I turned off the switch but here is the thing a few passengers told me that their previous driver switched them to me. The switch still happens if a new driver logins. I have logged in and the ride was offered to me then get told their pick time went from 10 minutes from previous driver to 2 minutes (Me).
So really the switch still has happens. Also i manually accept rides cause i got an email about cancelling too many rides. Rides that were not profitable to me. So rather decline rides. And i checked the TOS, declined rides arent mentioned in there. If i get deactivated for decline rides it will raise questions if im independent or employee.

Lyft is even worse they have you Flying Blind with there navigation just giving you one step at a time and telling you to turn on a street or highway with 100 feet notice.
and I did an airport ride today were they paid me $10 and charge the passenger $28.
The navigation is set up with the illusion that we are the only vehicle on the highway
Another thing i hate that they do is if you're driving a passenger to their destination, and there is s turn upcoming, and uber sends u a ride request, blocking the gps directions. You have to slow down, take your eyes off the road, and hit the "X" so u can see the gps quickly then they immediately send u another ride request. Yesterday i had 3 in a row seconds after i picked up a passenger as i was screenshotting the dropoff destination. I do this because whenever the app goes haywire and u struggle to complete a ride you're doing, uber will play dumb like they didn't know anything about the ride you just completed and the money they just collected from your completed ride. They ask you the name, pickup address, time of the pickup, and the destination address just to compensate you for the ride.
How about get rid of trip radar regardless if you car moving or not?
I'm getting way more trip radar! If I'm in motion, I don't look at it anymore. It's too distracting! They need to get rid of that garbage.
Lyft's setup is so much better and safer. However, I recently noticed if you have auto-accept on, they send a message now stating if you cancel, it may go towards your cancellation rate 🤔
if Uber cares about distracted driving, why do they only give us 15 seconds to analyze an entire trip from mileage, distance etc. before it disappears? Uber should read out the details of the trip so that we can keep our eyes on the road. That or give us more than 15 seconds to look at it, analyze it, and make our decision. I feel like they do that to force us into accepting rides we would never accept otherwise.
Like when we are 100 feet from the destination and about to turn then Uber sends us the next shitty ping?
Right! And your car is rolling slow so you know which driveway to pull into but the map gets covered and the passengers yells out, "Hay you just passed up my driveway!" You recover by saying, "I'm going up a bit to make a u-turn so you don't have to walk around the car." Not defending Uber, of course, but at least the passenger knows that the driver cares about the passenger. Then I always follow up with, "These apps don't care about either of us, so that's why we have to care about each other." Our passengers need to be reminded because they don't see what we see. Everyone should read Uberland. It was published in 2018! Every driver could write a sequel to that book with just one page in it that says... "Nothing has changed in 6 years. The end."
Radar is nothing but an auction and the LOWEST bid wins. It's pure EVIL GENIUS!
Uber should warn passangers turn left there turn right there go straight then turn right again this is distracting i got low rating because of this because i refused no to get distracted
Trip radar will never go away. It is Uber’s way of selling that ride to the lowest bidder. It gives them a way to bypass an experienced driver that might cherry pick that call and throw it out for a newbie to desperately grab it at a low price. I have learned to disregard TR yet it is still a major distraction and safety concern because I have to tap the screen to get rid of it.
Shame on you Uber. You should be looking for ways to reduce the clutter and the number of “taps” on the app not adding to it.
Lyft has that. You cannot do anything while the carbis moving.

Can you elaborate on "Exclusive" rides? I'm in Las Vegas market and I get Trip Radar, Exclusive and regular trip requests. What are Exclusive rides?
The best way to add insult to injury is when you sign someone's cast.
Trip radar in our area is different…ONLY shown while we are in queue at airport…and ONLY for airport pickups…thus, bypassing the queue!!! WHAT???!!?!?!
The offers with uber in Tennessee is 5 seconds and uber eats in 15 seconds. So, Tennessee is half the time to accept.
Distracted driving would never be from trip radar 😂😂. Uber is deflecting blame for accidents and putting it on drivers because they know they are unsafe.
It sucks doing deliveries on the bike. The uber app is so distracting. They claim i have to use bike navigation and seperate gos for my safety. But spam the screen, block your address from being seen. The button to cancel is practically invisible
As soon as Lyft gave the option to turn ride switches off I did immediately. It had happened to me a few times prior and not only is it confusing it always switched to a lower fare and I felt like I was being robbed. Like what about the time and distance I already travelled before you switched me? One time I was on the highway and I literally had to get to the next exit to turn and head the opposite direction on the highway. Wtf? So glad I was able to disable that.
About the yellow light. It’s wouldn’t help if they’re longer or shorter. What will help is if all the yellow light has a constant timing like 5 seconds for instance. So every one knows. That if the light turn yellow it’ll turn red in 5 seconds.
Uber and Lyft set drivers up for failure. With fake bonuses, for example Lyft offers bonuses for x rate for x rides to get a bonus. The next week the rates for the same rides are at a reduced rate but with no bonus which means that you are driving more miles and more time at a lesser rate.
If your market suddenly becomes saturated and you are working on a lyft bonus, lyft will only show your car to undesirable trips.

Uber giving requests for the next ride while having a passanger in the car is crazy. Not just risking your own safety but the riders too. It takes away the directions and forces you to look at your phone to either close the ping or to debate if you want the ride or not. And they have the audacity to send the email😂
I am tempted to stop new request while driving clients but fear of missing out on rides I agree trip radar text is distracting while in motion ok if stopped waiting on a request. I did Uber eats only today and couple instacarts because I was in my suv
"How about if the car is moving no trip radar?" I beleive that would seriously cut into my rides. They are up until. 1) someone accepts it. 2) it goes to a regular ride offer. Maybe a few more seconds on reg ride offers. What I would like is an accept button on radar so when you swipe it does not accept the ride when you touch the screen. Also... radar does not give a map of where the ride is going or in what direction. Late night this is an issue because I do not want to go further north when I live south. Simply showing N S E W. NW SW. etc would help!
Auto switch can be toggled off on LYFT.
Trip Radar is a royal pain in the ass… especially when you just arrive at the airport, give me a chance to see and evaluate the crap you are trying to get picked by drivers, quit pinging non-stop !
I've noticed recently that uber's app constantly goes in and out while I'm driving now. Constantly saying navigate, or drop off person bar pops up constantly. Or sending me a ride as I'm getting closer to the drop off destination, then I'm super distracted 😑🤦♀️ I did notice it's now quiet, compared to before, blasting thru.
And lyft acts like I have my phone in my hand.
They just trying to legally cover their azzes
They allow the riders to make up false complaints by giving them the choice "driver seemed distracted by their phone" when we have to look at the phone for the gps directions to take the passenger to their destination
They need an auto accept feature for Uber. That one of the main reasons. U want us to drive save and not be distracted but yet u want us to manual accept calls. There should be a feature where all calls auto accept within 15 seconds and within the 15 seconds of I driver still wants to decline they still can by manual decline it.

Pings and trip radar needs to be improved or 1 trip pickup and drop off before getting the next ride
I only get 3-4 seconds per ping. I use android is this why?

Is construction still there etc. I gave them heck when they sent me the email, told them it was them, what else would I be doing on my phone? Gps maybe, so I can get the people where they got to go???
This is one of many reasons why I dropped the Uber app from my routine.

My phone is NOT positioned up, and forward, of me because I would find that EXTREMELY distracting. My phone is mounted in my cup holder, in my center console.

Trip radar, trip accepting time ,trigger pops ups are distracted uber.
I hate to say this but. You realize it’s a distraction with these trip radar calls. You can’t even read it fast enough to keep your eyes on the road. Think about that. They come in fast and furious. That right there alone is a danger.

About the accidents. Do you know how much the economy is going to take a hit if there are no accidents. For instance every driver here gave rides to a person or more daily to a passenger that got into an accident. Some companies can go bankrupt like tow truck companies, body shops, mechanic shops, even insurance companies, funeral homes and it goes on. That’s why the government is not going to do anything about it. People will lose jobs.
