When I told my boyfriend it had subtitle he didn't want to see it. But he ended up liking it of course uwu
I watch English films with English subtitles, too, because I care about every single detail, punchline, reference, etc, so it was easy for me to start watching non-English films.
First Korean movie I've ever watched = Oldboy (2003), and Parasite was the second. 2 brilliant movies with jaw-dropping twists!
I'm watching this video again today as a farewell to one of my most favorite Korean actors, Mr. Lee Sun Kyun. Just 3 years ago he was this happy on stage, was on top of the world. And now he's gone forever. Too soon, too unexpected. I will miss you dearly. Rest in peace!

Since Parasite came out, my best friend told me that this movie would win Best Picture and I do not lie one bit! We both study Film Production together and he has an amazing eye for Film. He also worked in his local cinema and told his manager to get this film screened because the UK will eventually be rolling it nationwide, and he was so right about that! He made myself and all my friends go and watch this film and made us learn about Bong Joon Ho's work and his directing style. Eventhough we all doubted that Parasite could ever win Best Picture - my friend never lost hope, he supported the film dead out till Jane Fonda read out the winner. Me, him and all of our film production friends sat down more nervous than ever, It was about 2/3am, we waited the whole night and DAMN we yelled out so hard, harder than the Audience at the Oscars. We all came over my friend, hugged him and shouted "You Won! You Won!" He couldn't hold back the tears. This win wasn't just a triumph for the filmmakers and even for Korean Cinema, it was a big win for the international fans and supporters of the film too. When Miky, the lady at the end, gave her speech thanking the fans, I think we never felt more humbled or connected to a great film then that night.
Since you people study film production and your friend has a great eye for films, can you make him watch these two Indian films which we should have sent to Oscars but we didn't because of our petty politics

@@aniketsaha7455 I agree with you. Aamis was an exceptional film but sadly even Assamese people did not watch it. No matter in which part of this fucked-up country you are in, the film industry is just messed up.
Aamis plays with your mind for days, you just cant watch it alone in a day. I could not.
As an Assamese, I will say that the Assamese film industry is in ruins but artists here care more about our state politics and shamelessly joined political parties. I do not discourage them but do what you know.
However, just pray for Salman's and KJo's death (only death can put an end to their power), only then industry can be revived. Warna chutiya bante rahega public.
There's a really good Indian named named super deluxe released in 2019 but sadly it didn't get nominated to the Oscar because of politics involved in Indian film industry. It is now available on the Netflix 👍

Im a big fan of Tarantino movies, but when i saw "Parasite" and I was walking home from theatre I told my wife that Parasite is the best movie of the year so...
I'll be honest, I've had severe ADHD for years so I try to avoid reading as much as possible, including subtitles. I decided to give Parasite a shot because of what everyone was saying. I watched it late at night after my ADHD meds wore off, normally id fall asleep during any movie. I got maybe 10 minutes in and the next thing i knew it was past midnight and I was crying. This is my 2nd comment on this video, that's how much it means to me. I've never done that

Out of all Best Picture winners, Parasite is the one that deserved it the most. Along with Return of the King and both Godfather movies.
I saw this movie in theaters before it became so popular, so I had zero expectations and lets just say.... when u go in with 0 expectations and u get a film like Parasite... It was one of the best movie experiences of my life!!!

Moonlight was a sign of the Academy awarding arthouse films, then last year Green Book won and that was a shot to the foot, and now Parasite won, becoming the first Foreign Language Film to win are going to show an incredible demand for foreign language movies to be up there with their other American counterparts, but when a film like Parasite that gets so much more love, it achieves what seemed to be the impossible. Here’s for the amazing new films from the rest of the world because cinema is universal.

I'm so happy for Song Kang-Ho who is been with Bong Joon Ho since Memories of Murder which is the first film I've seen from them two. The Host, Snowpiercer and the aforementioned Memories are masterpiece on their own and each one are as different as Parasite.

1:28 p.m. Productions actually I believe that the joker and little women were amazing, even if they weren't completely original ideas they took an idea and connected it to society today. I really loved watching both movies and the acting was beautiful. Greta gerwig's adaptation really made it perfect. I liked the Irishman too, I didn't watch 1917. even if parasite was very clever and original though, I believe it shouldn't have won over other movies.

The best thing to happen in 2020, certainly. But I don't think it's the only one. I mean, Bong Joon Ho also won Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. And South Korea won its first Oscar for Best International Feature Film. Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor, Brad Pitt won Best Supporting Actor, and the composer for Joker won Best Score. I just said composer since I don't know how to spell or how to pronounce her name. And Taika Waititi picked up an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Oh and Tenet and The Hunt were both released this year.

Tension Tamer joker was half baked and started more commotion than parasite....joker was ok in some scenes but every frame of parasite was brilliantly put by the director himself which is one of the many reasons why it came out to be such a incredible cinematography experience.

The funny thing is the director was talking about how even though he was nominated for a whole bunch other stuff he was most excited for the nominations for production design in film editing which are the only two he didn’t win
The only bad thing is the main male actor wasn’t nominated for the Best Actor category because yeah JP was great but that man showed in his eyes how a happy father can slowly sink into hatred towards the different classes.
