I think the appeal of the MLG videos at the time came from how edgy they were. Keep in mind that a lot of us were in middle school when these videos were in their prime, and that is where we started going through our “edgy phase” if you will. And these MLG edits embodied exactly the type of edge that we thought we were meant to like at that age. Y’know, guns, weed, explosions, Doritos, Mountain Dew, M-rated video games, flashy colors, loud air horns, 360 no scope, a general gangster vibe, seeing it all come together in front of our very eyes, how could we not think it was the coolest thing ever? Nowadays, yeah, it’s definitely what we would call “brain rot”. I mean, there really isn’t any substance to it looking back, because once you’re past that edgy phase, it’s all just flashy colors and loud sounds trying way too hard to be cool. But I’ll still take it any day over the Skibidi Digital Circus content farms that Gen Alpha is growing up on.
Yeah, but it really annoys me how much of a hypocrite so many Gen Z's are when they say Gen Alpha only watches brainrot, like we didn't grow up with MLG, YTP, and Elsagate.

As a Millenial, I always like to go outside not to play but to meditate mostly in seasides, parks or even at the mall. Me as a toddler, I only watched Brainy Baby to learn alphabets and words, numbers and even simple math. As a child, I grew up with toys, watching anime, superhero, movies and cartoon shows, going outside to be challenged and to get dirty, and mostly, the snake game and bounce from my old Nokia phones back in our childhood days. Now as an adult, I still watch some cartoons and animes from my childhood like, Pokémon, Spongebob Squarepants, Ben10, One Piece, Mr. Bean, or even Timmy Time but not as often as I do as a kid. And in my age of 21, I'm so used of playing Racing Games, GTA, Story games like Life Is Strange, and even some metaverse games like Zepeto. Watching mostly action films like mostly from Tom Cruise, Jason Statham, Jackie Chan or even from directors like Scorcese, Tarantino, or Nolan. In music, I'm very choosy and cautious on who or which artists I should listen to. That's all. In the first place, I never liked Fnafs, Skibidi Toilets, and even Cocomelon. Cocomelon doesn't help any babies to learn anything. Skibidi Toilets should've never existed at the first place and FNAFs should be age-restricted at any cost!
It'll probably be better off than gen alpha, because by then they'll have grown up and learn from their mistakes, and the mistakes their parents made with them

Man, I feel like we're just like Gen Z and Gen Alpha. I'm a millenial and I think we did some crazy shit too when we were younger. I think one good example of it was the 1337 text that Gen X (probably) and the (actual) boomers didn't understand. When I was younger, I used to scream loudly out of nowhere because I wanted to be a super saiyan. My younger brothers are Gen Z, they did some crazy shit too that I tried to understand. I think they (or us millenials) created the primordial versions of memes, with rage faces, stock images, and impact font. Now as a father raising a Gen Alpha kid, I feel like I understand how my parents felt when I was doing all the crazy stuff all those years ago. The difference is, the way we were raised was way too different from how these kids are being raised considering the digital era that we're in today. As kids before, our parents said we're not learning anything from Dragonball and Spongebob. At first I thought so, too, until I decided to rewatch them years later. I don't know what these "brain rot" content will teach our kids, they make almost zero sense to me (I'm too old to understand), which is why I control the content that my kid watches on a daily basis. Though I can't really do anything while he's at school, at least he comes home to play with actual toys, just as much as we did when we were younger. Personal story - if you weeks ago I was in gym class right and then these few kids started coming around. I think it was like January or December and they just started saying and Riz in every sentence they said to my face I tell them that was literally never appealing to me to begin with and how do people still remember it? And then they just start following me crazy and I start screaming at them, and they just start screaming the words in my ears, and then I almost get written up and to make matters even worse it would be my first time getting written up thankfully I wasn’t because they were stopped before they could push me any further Second, this devious lip trend was basically students taking stuff from the bathroom, including clothing off of other people like dude how did anyone find that appealing at all? I remember being as a child so obsessed with fnaf. Like in the fnaf 3 demo i would constatly play it up to the 3rd night and beat it, and then restart to night 1. But now, instead of being obsessed by watching youtubers, i actualy play the games, and they are much more fun than watching people play them.
Another problem with the Play Store is the fact that it pays zero attention to copyright laws. That's why so many of its games and apps are just ripping each other off. And don't even get me started on the "early access" bullshit it's pulling; I swear most of the stuff in that section only exists because the developer either is devastatingly lazy, or won't really be successful no matter how much money the app manages to make.

Now as a father raising a Gen Alpha kid, I feel like I understand how my parents felt when I was doing all the crazy stuff all those years ago. The difference is, the way we were raised was way too different from how these kids are being raised considering the digital era that we're in today.
As kids before, our parents said we're not learning anything from Dragonball and Spongebob. At first I thought so, too, until I decided to rewatch them years later. I don't know what these "brain rot" content will teach our kids, they make almost zero sense to me (I'm too old to understand), which is why I control the content that my kid watches on a daily basis. Though I can't really do anything while he's at school, at least he comes home to play with actual toys, just as much as we did when we were younger.
TL;DR I tore my vocal chords as a kid to try and become a super saiyan, kids today scream skibidi dop dop dop yes yes.
After all that, maybe I'm just too stupid to understand. Or maybe I'm just too pre-occupied with a lot of shit.

Personal story - if you weeks ago I was in gym class right and then these few kids started coming around. I think it was like January or December and they just started saying and Riz in every sentence they said to my face

He said that if I'm not allowed to watch SpongeBob I'm not allowed to watch anything unless it's Barney or Dora the explorer. He was wrong. There are a lot of things I was allowed to watch, and then I found out that one of my friends is not allowed to watch SpongeBob either.

I remember being as a child so obsessed with fnaf. Like in the fnaf 3 demo i would constatly play it up to the 3rd night and beat it, and then restart to night 1.

Another problem with the Play Store is the fact that it pays zero attention to copyright laws. That's why so many of its games and apps are just ripping each other off. And don't even get me started on the "early access" bullshit it's pulling; I swear most of the stuff in that section only exists because the developer either is devastatingly lazy, or won't really be successful no matter how much money the app manages to make.
