Where did you get the metal strips

Any hardware store will have metal strips that you could use:

If I were to do it again, I would experiment with getting one of these:

The predrilled holes may make life easier when building it out, and may make it lighter weight. I wild try to buy 1 long piece, and bend it into the shape that fits.
