Man In a Box DIY Illusion Costume - How to Make it (Halloween)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 ноя 2024
- This year I decided to make my own Halloween costume, just for something fun to do with my kid, and to hopefully win the "Best Costume" prize at our neighbor's Halloween Party! (PS- I did win!)... It was a toss-up between the PiggyBack illusion costume or this Man In a Box "carry" costume... I decided this one was easier to create on my own. In this video I show you everything I used to build it and take you through the full process, as well as the finished product. Looking forward to having some fun with this on the weekend!

Hi ! I have to tell you ... I created the allusions in the Box. I did one for my daughter n one for my son .
I took both of them to the Speer Memorial Library in Mission Texas to compete on the Halloween costumes and they both won first place for most original. They also used the costumes to their school at Bryan Elementary. No one has seen such amazing Creation of Illusion in the Box. I took my kids trick or treating and people would stop us because they wanted to see the amazing costumes they had never seen.... lol
I'd like to take this time and say
Thank you soooooo very much for sharing this easy way of creating this costumes of Illusions in the Box.❤
*Illusions, not allusions.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Dalia Vivian DAMN IT I WANTED TO DO THIS BUT COULD ONLY START OCTOBER 30

Best tutorial ever. Thanks. I did this type of costume last year but like the way you constructed yours.
I'm trying to figure out how to make the fake head turn, thinking pvc pipe with handle attached inside thw box.....
Thank you for this! My man in the box costume was a huge hit! The angles on my belt didn't work out, so added straps over the shoulders and put my shirt on over it. Thanks again!
I did this thanks for the diy very informative 👍.
I couldn’t find a foam head so I grabbed a few cans of spray foam worked really well. Just filled up a whole head latex mask with it.also used it to fill in the chest parts and gloves think it saved some time as well .
Spray foam seems genius.
The best part is that his daughter spends time with him and helps him
I wanna be on that daddy’s lap 😍
So are you no longer doing Cash Cab?
Lol love it. I had no idea who that guy was until I started getting comments like this and checked him out. Actually quite the similarity! I should play off that lol
AskingForAFriend haha. I really thought that was him
This was the best tutorial. Using the mannequin head was a great idea. We also used a 5- rack pants hanger so we didn't have to build a separate wire frame to attach to the hanger. Came out great!
Great idea re: the 5 rack hanger!
you explained it well! got me laughing like crazy. thanks man
Tony Lipsey glad you liked it!
Thanks! I used the same idea to make a variation. The cardboard box was too weak to support the weight of the ''man", so I opted for a plastic box.
Good idea... ya I've seen that done too. If I did it again I think I'd try that also
My boxes keep bending and breaking before I can get to take it outside for people to see.
Was thinking of doing a plastic box but haven't seen one big enough to fit my 6.4 frame. Lol
You need a longer video of you using the costume. OUtside. On a city street etc. Great Costume!
When ever I try these things I mess up, I get to frustrated, I give up and throw it away😂😂
Sameeeee
You guys need to grow your aura..
That is a Amazing Costume that You Made. This is like the Costume Called Alien Pick Me Up. Sense that You Made Your own Costume it makes it Look like that You are the only Person Who has this type of it & then I would say You are the Creator of that Costume 😂
I'm doing Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatts version of this:
Lester is going to carry the box and Scruggs is in the box playing the banjo and the box says " Ship to Scruggs Birthplace" lol
Thanks for Inspiration!
That's great! Thanks for sharing! Your assistant did a terrific job, too!
Haha thanks! I passed that on to her
Could you have the links to the things that you bought? Thanks. Great tutorial btw
That looks so freaking real!

I'm not the only child so I need to wear a jockstrap while wearing this costume.
Thank you so much for take the time and explain step by step..
Super good brother still loving this and December 3rd 2022
This is brilliant for sure. But you sell the illusion so well at the end with your movements! Great work and idea, I may try this for next Halloween.
Maybe add some ups labels, fragile, or decorate the box up a bit to add to the illusion.
You should make one for all the family and race each other lmao now that would be a show
3:45 aaaahhhhh😀
This is great.
Glad to see you're using the old tried and tested, home-made Halloween costume-making technique - 'duck tape the hell out of it'🤣😂!
Nice one. Great job!!
“And that kids, is how baby’s are made any questions?”
I found using children's size large Football shoulder Pads work great for the Dummy chest.
this is awesome!!! ive been trying to think of a halloween costume for weeks and i had no idea what i was gonna be but now i know! thank you
You are terrific! Thanks for the great, detailed instructions!
That's a sweet Bull dogs hoody

Coolest costume ever!
wow ! love it ❤ I got to try this .
thanks for an easy way to create this illusion . I have been looking for some time to see who had done a video on this , but wasn't sure what was it called...
thanks from South Texas
You're very welcome... glad it helped!
Awesome thanks for sharing this most brilliant idea!!!
you can use a stapeler to hold everything together
Great tutorial!!! How do you make the guys back connect with your feet
Just need to cut the hole in the box close to the back part, where the body is attached... and have the "hoodie/shirt" hang over a little so it looks like your legs are his
Perfect Costume!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi love your video that look so cute for helloween
Nice job.
Wow you made that look so easy awesome idea love it
Very helpful! Cool costume, Thank you!
thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Best Costume ever!
I wish I saw that sooner! I made such a thing for BF's Halloween and didn't know how to hold it....box was heavy and it fell apart midway :/
Aw damn! Ya I was planning on uploading this sooner for Halloween but was cutting it close myself. Next year you'll be ready! I found the key was to keep the "fake man" light (ie: Styrofoam head and pack with loose plastic bags or packing paper) and use a strong box ... I actually reinforced the bottom with another piece of card-board and duct taped around it for support. I also did use that L bracket at the back in my belt and stuck it right thru the box; and I used that nylon strap (got it at dollar store) to loop around my waist and through box at back to hold it to me tighter. Next time I may add some kind of shoulder straps or wear suspenders to hold the box up. Either way it was a big hit... won best costume at the party we went to, and freaked out my neighbors on Halloween lol
It's indeed the best! I watched lots of tutorials on RUclips and read a bunch in other pages, yours was the best. 4 thumbs up. :)
Thanks alot brother... glad to hear it!
I'm going to make this today.lol Thanks
Great Job, killer descriptions! 👏👏
That's awesome!!
Hilarious, great tutorial.
Thanks very much
Your Halloween & ideas are pretty awesome sir. Tomorrow I’ll have to head to dollar general. So that I can pick up all these items. Thank you very much 😁✌🏻
Its deserve to give a try.
how did you get the holes through the clothing to secure the body to the box?
I just cut small holes with scissors. You don't see that part when costume made. Best to buy cheap Goodwill clothes or old throw-away clothes... this is a permanent use
@@topformfitness thanks, I'm doing Trump deporting an illegal so will be making a hole in a suit jacket (from thrift store). Thanks for repky. Great job.
@@1105pitbull LOL should be a good one... enjoy!

Calidad!! 😍👍👏👏👏
That was awesome
Best tutorial, well done !
Thanks for the comment!
How you guy make these without mess??
Hi, I'm hoping you see this message quick... sooo i made the box part right, sooo my isue is , as im walking the zip ties are tearing the box. What can i do? (I reinforced the rear of the box w another piece of cardboard
Ya that's a tough one... I used that metal grid piece I took from an Ikea shelf (shown at 5:00 ) so I ziptied through the box onto that... and I also reinforced the holes I poked with duct tape both sides. It can be awkward to duplicate that part (ie: something stable to secure to the box so zip ties don't pull/tear)... I hope you can work it out!
I love it!! Great job
You did an amazing job!
I wanted.to make this.but did.not no how.thx very helpful
