This is THE most unhinged interview I have ever seen and I fucking love it
as an adult, Schlatt is attractive. physically, yeah. but also, the real personality that he shows every once in a while is really nice and genuine.
all that a regular person wants in somebody is someone who you can spend time with daily/frequently and not be upset, bored, or stressed.
not to say that i know anything about this man, but he's genuinely funny, seems nice, and seems like he's not super high-stakes. aside from the monthly bits he does (devious flashlight, smelling salts, protein powder, etc), which are part of his online persona anyway, he sounds like a good friend, at the very least.

Man after 5 years plus this is the most genuine ive seen Jshlatt on a video ever, very enjoyable to see someone whom im such of a fan of to really open up about themself as a human.
Schlatt's experience of being excited about creating content as a kid is so endearing and relatable for so many young people nowadays. Talking about doing dumb goofy home movies inspired by freddiew, getting some piece of shit capture card to record gameplay on your xbox 360. Before there was money in everything, wanting to be a youtube wasn't about the fame, because there was no fame. The "famous" youtubers at the time were still just making lets plays in their bedroom, not buying multimillion $ mansions.
Even though this was Schlatt being “genuine”, I still struggle to determine what was truly genuine or just a bit in this video lmao. That’s Schlatt for you tbh

some words that genuinely changed the trajectory of my life were in a RUclipsr's video on his decision to do RUclips full-time:
"I can either spend the next few years thinking about all the stuff I would love to do, or... I could just do it."
It's so incredibly sad, but also so comforting, to see Schlatt struggle with this idea, even after his years of success. There still exists a gap between what he wants to do and what he's been doing.
