The Edge had such a unique sound that the only criticism his detractors could provide was that his guitar work was easy to replicate. But it’s deceptively difficult to get his tone down. Awesome vid per usual Marty!
That's one of the first recognizable riffs I ever learned watching the music video. I still play it pretty much every time I pick up the guitar. I was shocked when I bought the War cd and discovered the studio version had electric violin!
An easy way to play this one is to keep the d chord shape and use your pinky to play the b. Instead of changing chord shapes you just lift your fingers.
Yep, that's the way I learned it b/c I watched the Edge play it that way. Seems like this way is too many movement up and down the board... Then again, I play other songs differently than the original artist b/c it's easier for me (e.g. Mayonaise by Smashing Pumpkins w/o changing std tuning).
“Red Rocks not included”, what a SICK line!! If you’ve never been, you NEED to put Red Rocks on your “bucket list”💯 I live in SoCal and have made the 15 hr drive there and seen shows at least 10 times (mostly Reggae on the Rocks, plus Damian Marley with Ben Harper among others)!! Willie Nelson, who’s obviously played all over the world, said Red Rocks is hands down his favorite venue. Check the web for pictures and vids. It will hopefully give you a decent idea of the venue, but until you’ve been there yourself….. Kinda like surfing🏄🏽. I can tell you all day how cool it is, you can watch a million vids, but….. until you actually ride a wave 🌊, you’ll NEVER know🤙✌️
"Hey this is Red Rocks!" Awesome concert and thank you for the lesson!! Peace
ha ha thanks for the comment and watching!

He uses the other side of the pick with the grooves to get his raspy sound
@@mikemc7839 Yeah that’s a funny technique he employs. The key to nailing his sound is combining that with the right pedals

I think that's the way the Edge does it, but my way is easier for me

This would sound cool with some kind of modulation effect, definitely going to try it later
Looking real sharp Marty, I'll play it at practice today my friend.
Thanks Marty.
is it not easyer to play the first chord DMaj with pinky on the G String 😮?
This sounds fantastic through my strat and super reverb amp.❤
