So many have disappeared from WoW like yourself, Aaron and others. I wish you well and thank you for letting us know what is up in your life.
Glad you are doing alright. Keep up the hard work, it will pay off!
Good luck, I'm a retired Naval Architect. Was a very interesting career.
Thanks! I can't wait to start getting into it for real :) will always appreciate future comments from an experienced naval architect with regards to whatever ship topic I'll talk about
Best of luck to you Chase! Was thinking about ya when Flamu mentioned you in his last video. Was a pleasure meeting you three years ago at the HMCS Haida event.
Thanks! Yeah it was a pleasure :) hope to see you again at the next HMCS Haida event
@@ichasegaming I’m not sure how many people remember the Great Wall of battleships these days, but I’ll always remember it and the derpiness of it.
@@ichasegaming Hey have you seen the news on the vaccines and the boosters? Just asking since a year or two ago you tried shaming a veteran who was also a CC for his stance against the lockdowns.
@@cbbees1468 so you trying to spread anti-vax views here? look at the countries that high vaccination rates, and look at the deaths they had, that should be proof enough for ya. no need to spread flat earth, non scientific conspiracy theories since they help no one. tell your kids and grand kids not to get the polio vaccine now, hear its making a come back, i am sure they will thank you for it if they catch it.
Good to you're almost done! As a machinist who works in a shipyard, for the love of all that is holy, in your future designs incorporate maintenance. It's important and if it's easy to get to, it'll get done. Good luck in your studies and here's hoping you'll get a sweet gig.
Will do my best :) and cheers
Good lord lad I thought you were gone for good!
Nope, just trying to become a naval arch :D
Good to hear from you, iChase. Sounds like things are going well for you on the east coast....it's on my bucket list to take a trip out that way.
Hopefully we see you again one day with new WoWS content, but even if it's not, anything for maritime history will basically rope me in. Please keep us updated.
I'll definitely do more maritime content, plus bring new spin to talking about ships
Take your time! As someone who left wows to pursue a psichology career that CONSUMES all my time, I can wholeheartedly empathize. Take care! And focus on what's best.
Mad respect. We will always be here for you when you return.
Been a sub since the very very early days even before the Captain’s Academy series, good to know that you’re still kicking and swinging at the world.
Your timing in stepping back was perfect. It would be hilarious to see your opinions on game once you graduate. Pointyhaired Jedi does a near weekly stream with Aetam talking about the state of game, it won't ld be v c interesting to see you have yarn with them!
Thank you for the updated. Good luck with your studies.
Glad to see you upload again after so long!
take your time and I wish ya the best of luck with school!
I still remember the great time we had when WOWS started testing. Good luck bro.
Wargaming doesn't deserve somebody like you mate. Keep it up!
Good luck with the project, definitely glad to hear you are, in fact, not dead. I'm also intrigued by the software as I work in civil and mechanical engineering as a 3D CAD Modeller. Obviously I have no use for hull design software but always curious to see how it's done in other industries.
Welcome back pal, I saved you a seat and some beer for this shit show.
Yeah, I tend to get the feeling of the guy who brings back pizza to a burning house and going holy f*** what's going on here hahahahaha
@@ichasegaming xD ain't that the truth, oh well at least we have many thing to point and laugh at now.
Live your best life free of wg drama
Thought you had left us like lemmingrush! Though tbh, that was a smart move... don't be afraid to follow your dreams! We'll miss you, but it's probably for the best
I'll be back, with much more interesting things to talk about in the future
Nice to hear your voice again
Keep smashing your goals mate. Content creation can always wait
Awesome to see you creating a video again, kind of missed having them.
I'll be back, that's a promise :)
I figured it was just life related. When hobbies and content creation are not the main source of income they get put aside really easily. Been there, done that, will be going back to that soon.
Best of luck in your endeavors, iChase!
Good to see that you're alive and well. Maybe we'll end up working on the same ships after you graduate.
Who knows :D anything can happen. Marine industry is both huge and small at the same time
Glad you’re still alive!
I remember back at or near when you left CC program, you had hinted at some other up and coming game in the works and being involved in some capacity with them as a CC equivalent or so. Any word on that game or can’t say?
Sadly, Ukrainian invasion has really delayed their progress since they're a Russian studio
@@ichasegaming Ahh, I see. Thanks for the update!
Amazing! Eagerly awaiting your return.
Hey Chase!
Small world! I actually go to MUN (computer engineering). I hope your studies went well - you should be graduated now right?
... anyways back to my concurrent programming dungeon. 😔
Glad to hear you are doing well. I actually just booted up warships when you posted. Good luck with this last year.
Thank you, one final push :D
I guess it's terrible of me that I didn't realize you hadn't posted in so long 🙂.
Hey, you still dropped by to say hi, appreciate that :)
You're at MI MUN? My brother and sister-in-law took the program you're taking about 15 years ago. Started out their careers working for ABS in NOLA, before moving back to Canada and working for Transport Canada.
Nice to see you "Chasing" your dreams, Chase :)
It's fine even if you never go back to WoWS, I've stopped playing in the last 3 years or so too. I'd be interested to see where you can take this channel, love to hear some history etc from you.
Greetings Chase, Ive been watching your videos on W.O.W. how to play ect. they are very well made with very useful info! thanks for putting in the time to help others. I was wondering why a player of your caliber and a very gifted teacher just quit since those are over 3 yrs. old then I watched this video and got my ansewer. A very close friend and ex partner was studing Naval architecture so I understand the time constraint, best of luck in your studies. Are their any plans in the future to return to W.O.W. for you? I hope so Ive just begun to learn lol. A side note, my grandson's name is Chase...
Fantastic to hear from you again. Best of luck for the future buddy!
Thanks a ton! I'll do my best :)
Oh just come back - You know you miss the masochism!
Good to hear from you again and glad your life is on the up!
Is there chance for this channel to also share about Naval Architecture? just for those who'll take the Course?
Yeah, when I'm done, I'll be diving into more naval architecture topics and examining stuff in real life from a designers perspective rather than just a history nerd
@@ichasegaming, Looking forward for the Great Content, I might go for Naval Architecture as well....
Thanks for the update and best of luck with your studies 💪🏼
Best Regards,
FLT
Good to hear from you Chase, glad you are doing well!! I am SUPER GLAD to hear from you, what a nice surprise.
Good luck in school. Maybe in a few years will see you doing a video designing your own pirate ship.
Really cool to hear you're still doing well and chasing the dream.
Disappearing acts? Never heard of them. Good to hear from you after everything that has been going on. You're a good egg in my book. Take care of yourself.
cheers, miss seeing ya around
Chase! Great to see you are alive & happy, what more could could anyone want?
if you are designing boats irl. try to get a job at Ranger and redesign the 620 621 and 622fs and bring back the 619 :).
Chase I missed your content so much. I loved your tutorial series so much. I'm glad to see you back
You won't like the new submarines or new cvs bro now there's super ships now and bloody super cvs with auto asw lol
Ye bro I been a sub since near beginning lived captain academy videos I learned most from you in wows you will always be the teacher of wows 👏
Hello, and the last 3 days marked the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
Hope to see you back to making WoW content again. Glad life is treating you well.
left world of washups year and half ago and still keep updated but its still looking grim at best imo. whether games or just work ill stay subbed and love to see what you do in the future.
Thank you for doing an update video hope to see ya back next year
Hopefully when you are done with school and have a little time you can pick a new game and start making videos again.
Glad that you're doing well. Take care out there!
Thanks, you too!
Yo this is rhinoceros, I do jewelry with it! Good luck man!
Wow did not know you went back to school. Would love to see you back someday.
I can't remember the 2 companies names that I'm thinking of since it's a while since I watched any super yacht walk through videos but your design reminds me of some of the yachts I saw featured on Aquaholics RUclips channel
I studied a little cad parametrics myself. I'd like to learn more as I really enjoyed it. I don't know why it never occurred to me to try ship design. I'm a little older myself and always struggled to find a career that I enjoyed but this is something that I could really see myself spending hour's a day without even noticing the time pass
Thanks for the update video, I think a lot of people were wondering what you were upto these days
You should definitely give it some consideration, I went into the program as the oldest guy there. Plus probably the worst math student at the beginning. But being older means I know how to manage my time better and outwork the younger students
long time no see.
good to see you're doing alright.
Love it! Used to do CADD myself. 👍
Glad to see you focused on other things
Ngl, watching the act of ship design is kinda cool
congrats mate, well done! Keep at it!
Fascinating stuff. Plain sailing, mate!
Jesus it’s been a year already?!! Damn
Rhino… brings back a lot of memories of late nights in Arch school
Ooooh yeah, hours and hours spent in modelling software
iChase, have you ever been to Ship Bucket? It sounds like it would be up your alley for ship designs.
Yeah I have, they have mostly profile drawings, which aren't super useful for a naval arch.
Cool. Do what you need to do firstly.
Just happy to hear that all is well with you!
Cheers iChase! Love you and your content, I remember seeing you ingame! Your "How To Get Good At WoWs" series is still my go-to for tutorials, especially the first video. **Mindset!** ~-~⁰(◠_◠)⁰v~-~
And yeah, WoWs is....iffy in overall game direction. No joke. There are SO many things that need addressing but Wargaming just keeps shoving in new stuff (that no one really asked for) and breaking the balance/game even further.
Naval architecture question: I've noticed that a number of cruise ships completed in the last few years have a bow that is raked towards the stern, rather than the usual Atlantic bow. This includes Celebrity Edge-class, Norwegian Prima, Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady, and others. What is the advantage of this?
Glad to get the update. Was going through my Patreon inventory and wondering whether to keep this channel riding. Answer is yes, so you still get a "free" cup of coffee every couple of weeks or whatever this level of support provides. Looking forward to new and different content someday. Some points:
St John's, Newfoundland presumably: Further presumption, Newfoundland and Labrador's University, Marine Institute. I've actually been to St. John's, kind of a small burg in 1972 and a bit surprised they have a university. The Coast Guard cutter relieving us on Ocean Station Bravo (think of a point halfway between Labrador and Greenland, then southeast a hundred miles or so) had a sailor fall down a hatch, so we had to motor back, pick him up, then take him to St. John's for further medevac. Nice little town, the entrance channel is a bit tight for anything larger than a fishing trawler.
Arctic/antarctic cruise ships, etc. Two points:
1. Everyone except the Russians (who overbuild everything) and the Swedes (who have a lot of experience) underestimate what ice can do to a marine drive train. Presumably your cruise ship will not be actually breaking ice, but a wind shift can turn pack ice nasty in a matter of hours. Even our Wind Class breakers (CGC Burton Island, in my case), although based on a Swedish design, would break shafts and propellers fairly often. Wellington, New Zealand, had a large stock of spare WInd Class shafts, propeller hubs and blades. My cousin on the Southwind was one of many that limped out of the Antarctic on one shaft to Wellington to change out blades. (Bolt-on blades are a plus.)
2. Cooling water and slush. Slush packs up the sea chests and cuts off cooling water to the engines, reduction gears, etc. We had to take a frigate-sized High Endurance Cutter (3,100 tons, like a frigate except for armament) through pack ice on another medevac to get within helicopter range. It was a constant dance between the main cooling lines and emergency cooling (fire mains) to keep the engines from overheating. The Wind Class had large auxiliary boilers with steam lines running to the sea chests. Steam was on to the sea chests continually while breaking ice.
The King has returned!!!
iChase, by my standard, you are one of the top 3 WoWS youtubers. The Captain Academy series is still a recommended read to my clan. Wish you the best and I just want to say you have helped a lot people who you don't know. I've been playing this game since close beta so it's ...er... how many years? WoWS is part of my life. Thank you for being there for part of my life.
i see you're living a healthy life without world of warships. I hope more people can also enjoy their life as much as you do
also, good luck with your assignments!
Hi Chase! I'm glad to hear that not only had what happened with WG not "destroy" you/your channel, but that you've been progressing in life and going to school. I'm really happy for you. I genuinely hope for the best for you, man. Take care and we'll see you next time!
Great to hear from you again Chase!
With regards to things to try out, perhaps you should give Naval Action a go! It recently went free to play on steam, and, although it's probably an even more flawed game than WoWS (yes, really!) It's an experience in its own right and can be great fun to just chill/hang around in, or look for some suddenly hectic combat between long sailing trips :)
Damn, tho you are gone... But glad you doing fine, keep it up!, Doing something new also sound interesting
At least you have fans who love your videos. That's for sure Chase. Wish you luck in school. But all of us going be exited once the prodigal son returns.
What is it like doing naval architecture? Is it a college course?
A lot of work, you can think of it as being Engineering Lite. Yeah, it's a 3 year diploma program
Just got into wows for the first time the past 3 weeks and found your channel immediately. By far some of the best content out there and super useful for a noob like myself. Although I watched and respect the reason you left, your content and the quality of it are sorely missed. Haven't found any other youtuber that delivers the same quality and insights that you do. Glad to see you're pursuing a career that will be good for society and wish you the best. Hope you continue being you! #Respect
How is there no plugin that automates that line digitalizing 🤐
no clue lol
Really glad to see you're going well, best of luck to you! 😄
Take your time mate. We'll be here when you return. 😊
Perhaps make a game like Wagaming's and put them out of business for us...lol. Glad to hear from you iChase. You were the one who got me involved with WOWS, and now I barely play it!
Cool!! Or even Arctic! ❄
Glad to hear your doing well, as far as the last push I know how hard it can be for some of us 'older' students [I was 45 when I my degree]. Please drop us a short, like this, every now and again to keep us updated and good luck on the project.
You're ALIVE!!!
great to hear from you!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy you've found such a cool and interesting career prospect as an extension of a game, I sincerely hope you have success and fulfilment!
All the best amigo!
Great news! Take care!
wellcome back sir
Good luck,Chase!!!! Do what you gotta do,mate. We'll be here!!!!
Great to hear from you!
It is nice to know you doing well.
Your voice is getting deeper!
and happier! hahaha
See you next year
What software are you using for the modeling?
Rhino3D for most of the 3D modelling and Maxsurf for hull development
@@ichasegaming Nice, have you done any stress simulations or anything like that in your courses yet?
We've done strength of material courses but FEA analysis is something we don't really touch. More of an engineering thing too in some ways. Might encounter it in industry later and learn it then :)
Huh, that's neat to see. I'm also studying naval architecture (TU Delft, Netherlands), and it's funny to see you're also using Rhino and doing similar stuff. Good luck, we'll both get there :)
Best of luck! Also TU Delft is an amazing school for naval arch from everything I've seen so far. Have read at least a few academic papers on narc from your school :) See you out in industry (it's a small big industry)
He back!
That is EPIC!! good will to ya bud!
OMFG UR ALIVE
YOU’RE ALIVE! XD
Your back. Yay
Not yet, but once I'm done school I'll be back :)
@@ichasegaming well of course, school is important
we miss you
miss all of you too :(
