    I've had this exact guitar, same color in SSS version for about 3 weeks now, and the more I play it the more I love it. This guitar is very responsive and musical. I was very impressed at how it sits within the music and sings with it's own character. The build is very solid. Feels like a modern guitar when I play, and sounds like a traditional strat with it's own special character. It's a keeper. Out of the box, the action was at 2mm, I like my action low and was able to get it down to 1.25mm with no buzzing or choking. It's a keeper.

      I like my action at about 1.2-1.5mm and wasn't sure if the Shecter would be able to achieve that without buzzing. I'm glad to hear that it can handle low action!

    Bought this guitar 7 months ago in atomic green. It's hss and it's insane. The neck feels great, pickups handle gain pretty damn well and cleans are great too.

    I ordered this model in the atomic ink finish, and haven't stop playing it. It's amazing the quality you get for the price. Super playable and has a great tone and feel. One of the best guitars I've played in my 30+ years of playing guitar. Just get one! You won't be disappointed

    Amo cada detalhe dessa guitarra. Comprei uma HSS branca e não vejo a hora dela chegar. Não posso dizer que sou um fã de stratocaster mas quando vi Nick Johnston pela primeira vez com sua Schecter SSS pensei, eu quero ter uma igual a dele. Alguns anos depois encontrei essa guitarra aqui no Brasil, trazida por uma importadora pequena e praticamente ausente nas lojas. Que sorte a minha ter comprado uma das primeiras unidades trazidas e disponíveis aqui. Tenho certeza que sou um dos 20 primeiros a ter uma Schecter Nick Johnston no Brasil.

    All I gotta say is , this guitars are amazing ... I own some high end strats , just so you guys know , is not a strat feel for the most part . But its worth your money and your time .

    • @chrisking6695
      @chrisking6695 3 года назад

      I like the strat look but not the feel. Their necks feel so chunky. The shecter has the look and a little bit of the fender tone but in a modern context. That's exactly what I want. And the fret board is nice and thin and it's got jumbos and the radius is almost flat. I'll definitely get that guitar haha.

      This is what I worry about, that it won’t feel good to me.
      I’m used to Gibson guitars so I am worried this will feel foreign.

    Yoooo i bought this guitar not being too sure it was going to vibe with me and holy shit do I love it! It feels, plays, and sounds amazing. The pickups sound unique in the sense that they sound low output but yet high output at higher gain settings. Gives me that perfect hendrix sound.

    Hi guys! I read lots of great things about diamond series. How does it compare to fender player plus? It's in similar price range. I wonder what's the feeling of necks and fret work on both? Is it really more comfortable to use thiner neck of schecter than "player plus"? Thanks!

    • @GuitarTalkUK
      @GuitarTalkUK  Год назад +1

      From my experience the fret work on the schecters is more consistently better. The roasted maple neck on the schecter has a more natural woody feel compared to the very smooth feel of the fender.
      The neck shape and comfort completely comes down to you and what kind of neck you prefer in your hands :)

  • @paulya1269

    Purchased one last year. Fantastic playing and sounding guitar, especially if you need to draw both stratocaster and classic humbucker tones from one instrument. There are couple of slight issues (pickguard static on single coils and scratchy tone pot) which are a bit annoying for a guitar at this price point, but both easy to resolve.

    I fell in love with this guitar at first play. The tone control actually moves trebles and mids without getting muddy. The 14 inch radius is to die for…. Cannot note out anywhere you bend…. I am glad Fender does not keep up with other manufacturers and cannot build anything special like this guitar. 900 dollars for what this guitar has in feel and sound beats all. It truly is the poor working man’s Suhr!! I loved it immensely and it has no limitations except me…. No excuses now….the set up from the factory even with .010s feels like .009s and the smooth fret ends and roasted maple neck is amazing!! Just go play one…. You will find a way to buy it…and sell other strats you have. Every guitar I buy requires work and part replacement…. This one does not!! Just play one!!! Not sure who Nick Johnson is…. His taste in guitars is impeccable!! Against the Atomic Orange I would love to have a red tortious shell pickguard….. the only thing I may change…

  • @electropentatonic
    @electropentatonic 2 года назад

    A fret level and Suhr mod and this turned into my main player. IMO any hss should come with a Suhr mod. The resistor setup, either way you wire it, kills the single coils or kills the humbucker. Now both ends sound exactly as they should

    • @AlphaToker
      @AlphaToker 2 года назад

      can you tell me more about this mod?

    • @electropentatonic
      @electropentatonic 2 года назад +3

      @@AlphaToker Single coils and HBs are typically wired using 250k and 500k volume and tone pots, respectively. 99.999% of guitars come this way. HSS is the exception and diff manufacturers try it differently. You typically end up sacrificing the single coils or the HB. At the heart of the Suhr mod is a super switch, it allows for control of 4 separate circuits on one lever. This way we can run the appropriate 500k and 250k values to SC and HB and it will sound like the true front end of a fender and the full roar of a Humbucker on the bottom

    Good morning! Thank you for this awesome review. Your playing is fantastic. I’m taking a very close look at this guitar. Pretty sure it’s going to replace my fender Stratocaster. I have a several Schecters already so I’m familiar with the brand. And I have a C1 that has a 14 inch radius which I love. This is an amazing guitar at an amazing price. My one comment is that you did not talk extensively about the floating tremolo system or use the tremolo arm, to see how it stays in tune after usage. Anyway great review you have convinced me. Thank you🎸🎸❤️❤️👍👍

    my complaints on the guitar are the trem and the tuners... if you use the bar at all like i do, it ends up being tuning hell... spent a nice penny upgrading the tuners and trem... on the tuners they really just feel cheap.
