have you ever have a problem with the adblue count down not resetting
Hi. My mileage countdown warning light came on and I added the Adblue until full. But the mileage countdown is still active. How do I reset it?
Does a 2005 V6 Diesel engine need a DEF or Adblue,too? I bought that car about last week. It was a Import Modell but the norwegian manuall is about 2008 or 9. When i start the engine some exaust smell comes into the cabine.
Go to the dealer and buy one of the refill bottles. I think I paid about $8 for one.
The nozzle screws on the filler neck and doesn't make a mess. It also stops filling when the tank is full.
Now clean up that mess you made. :-)
Oh nice. Good to know. Last time i filled it on a trip and it was dark. As you can see it got everywhere. haha

Yes it did. Still love this Touareg.
You need to clean that cap. If you get particulates in the system could clog the filter and mess stuff up. All def systems have a small filter before it goes to the system. That truck is just dirty

Is it ok to put a regular gasoline into a 2004 you're v8 4.2.
It will be okay but VW says to put premium in.
How do I know when to add more def!? Will an indicator light come on?
Yep, you will get a warning light and a adblue range. I wish you could always see the range but it just shows up with the warning. Gives you a 1,000 mile warning.
How long does a full tank of it usually last?
@@DjonemoreI know this is old as heck, but does anyone know? I bought a 2012 tdi about a year ago and the light still hasn’t come on. I’ve probably only put around 5k miles on it but I’m nervous someone messed with the emissions system which will suck for smog. Thanks

how strange, in European countries there is not this tank, it should not be added ad blue .. I have 3.0 tdi 2006 and it is not there. thanks for the videos !! sorry for my language.
Robby silver: the Touareg in the video is a 2009. Newer TDI Touaregs have adblue systems.

Spotted Euros: I’m not sure what year adblue systems started in Touareg. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear there are some on roadways of various parts of the world with adblue systems deleted.
I live in Europe and here the touareg's don't have a adblue system. Only the touareg's from 2015 and up have them. I am looking for a touareg 3.0 tdi here, but they want to ban the diesel cars up to 2015 because they don't have the adblue......
nick12131997 the Tdi cars here didn’t have adblue until 2015. Always was the last year before they shut them down. I had a 2015 Golf Tdi and loved that car. Probably got the best MPGs out of all the Tdis that I have driven.
How often do you have to refill it? Seems like a nuisance.
Austin about every 10,000 miles. The location is the worst part but it’s still pretty easy.

David yes. Same location on the 2011 and newer Touaregs. It will tell you on the dash. Starts at 1,000 miles until empty.

Great video! Once added is there any reset required via the multifunction display or does it auto detect the fill level of the tank?
iain lloyd it will auto detect. I wish it would show you a reading constantly. Like a range for adblue. Only pops up when the range is less than 1,000 miles.
Mine came on right after I left on a trip to get a car. Had to stop in Vegas on the way back to refill. The warning stays on the display and won’t you see anything else once you get to a 100 miles left.
Had an intersting experience this weekend...in a snow storm away from home and the ad blue light comes on 100 mile notice!! No countdown from 1000 miles. Stopped put in adblue and the count down does not reset. Switched off cycled ignition 30 seconds etc as some have reported with no change. Had to continue driving in snow storm and the counter continues to count down all tne way to 0 miles, with the message engine restart not possible. Had to drive it straight to the dealer....Bought it from the dealer who did the emissions fix, who also is supposed to refil the adblu tank as part of the fix. Only did 4000 miles and then the 100 mile warning came on. Dealer has it now should be picking up later this week. I'll let you know how it turns out.
