- When it comes to racing, the crew at Tekno RC takes the time to engineer cars that win. Their latest revision to the EB48 should make that goal a bit easier for racers. The EB48 2.1 will be hitting stores soon and we got our hands on an early release to build and put laps on at the world famous RC Madness race track. The new buggy is built to handle better and has a number of tweaks you need to see. RC Driver’s Dean Berry took the point for this video to go over those details. Then we teamed up with Jeff at 413RC to get you some of the best RC race track action footage you’ll ever see on RUclips. If it’s time for a new race buggy on your bench, you need to take a look at this!

RC has certainly come a long way. For those of us that enjoy the hobby. We are fortunate. The drone footage is a nice touch. Good information Greg, thank you... Like button energized.
Best 5 minute product demo and amazing videography.
Thank you!
Loved the drone footage! Nice addition on the track 👌🏼👌🏼
Thank you!
Best Buggy, so smooth on and off power. Jumps so nice 💪🏾💯
Top tier content. The video footage from the drone, hand held and on the car is so good. Really cool track with lots of room to stretch. You guys captured the limits of this car. Love it
Really excellent video work on the track!
Fantastic edit! That was a ton of fun to watch.
Amazing! What a beautiful design! RCM Baby! The place to race! Miss being around the racing so much! Awesome video! Dean you the man! Lots of great information! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Well thanks a lot RCDriver. 😉 Now I’ve got another £1k+ to find and spend over here in the U.K. Keep the great videos coming. I’ve only got one 1/8 which is my Vorza so this is definitely going to be added, at some point.
The drone footage was fire!!!!!
Awesome review, awesome drive and awesome video, 👌🏻
Love the drone footage!!
Thank you!
We did 2!
Great video. Very nice overview of the car and layout of all the new updates. Great on track footage.
Awesome video, I just like seeing tekin still going from my days. I have a original Avante that i can still us and runs great. But seeing the design of the new ones, AAA+++. A far cry from my Wild Willy. And even the Hot Shot back then was awesome too. How about this one, My friend had the Optima and the front wheel drive one, And yes, we cut it and half and made a all wheel drive Duel engine off road car, There is nothing to compare it too. It was faster then a Stinger nitro car. And that was in 1988, I just tried to find the name of the car Kyosho made that was front wheel drive-Anyone remember. Well wish I had that car. Great video.
I'd like to see this compared to a associated buggy of the some class. I'm a associated fan boy but would love to see a comparison on tekno. I don't see alot at my local track. It's mostly tlr or ae.
I am a huge AE fanboy too always have been. But I bought an EB48.4 last year at half price NIB and I love it. The only AE I can compare it too is a RC8FT. Live my RC8 but the Tekno is alot tougher and drives just as well just a lil different. It is VERY adjustable too.
Hello from southeast alaska I hope your having a good day bro
Madness has a freat selection of tracks and surfaces !
The drone work is a nice feature.
Thank you!
Great video and review of "probably the best buggy in the world"! Keep up the good work :)
I have the 2.0. Wonder if I should upgrade some parts to 2.1 spec.
What hotwire version did you use? Thanks for this video. Love Tekno!!!!
So freaking sweet
+1 on the bladder shocks!!!
No one beats tekno quality. 🙂
Great video. Looking to replace my TLR 8ight-XE, and this is now my top pick. Only 'complaint' about the video is the pushing of Tekin electronics (in the video, spoken like a true Tekin-sponsored driver). Not saying Tekin isn't "good" (it is)...but, Tekin IS overpriced.
Wonder how much would fit on the Mt I think I'm asking to much from the rusty I built can only bullit proof it so much
Why aren't everyone mounting the motors like the new Associated Buggy? I just can't believe it's good to have the mounting only on one end even if the motor lays on the tray. Am I wrong?
where did you get the TEKNO decal with the blue K with stars?
I love the chassis, drive line and overall quality. There are a few Techno 2.0 (1-3 on any given weekend) running at my local track and they are pretty quick but also pretty fragile it seems. I run the Arrma TLR (I know, I know but its CHEAP and cheap to fix IF it breaks). I am no where near as fast into the corners as the Techno but I can get outta the corner slightly faster. Only thing I can't stand is that 1980's body is just aweful.
Don`t know what you saw there, but I have a EB48 2.0 and the thing is the most durable rc car I ever had. It`s crazy robust and can take a beating.
@@PaddyPatrone Well I didn't dream it. There were 2 Techno 2.0 last Saturday and both had breakage. I guess it could be set up related but one guy bend 3 front turnbuckles along with a front hinge pin. The other guy was slow (he is ALWAYS slow) but he bent a rear turnbuckle and broke a rod end. I guess nothing major, but it still put them out for the session. Only other break (other than a few servos) was some kids face planting the triple and DESTROYING his Associated (not sure if it is the newest one). It was glorious carnage. So, yea, 2 Techno drivers and both has issues.
What class do you run? I have never had any problem in the expert class with any brand buggy continually breaking. I won the intermediate 1/8 buggy class with my sons Aarma senton short course basher on only 2s last weekend lol. It's all relative to the driver. That is why I dismiss a lot of claims on the interwebs and stick to ROAR racers for info on cars.
@@JimmyBeanz13 No ROAR events in my area really. Just club racing but we have 1/8 buggy unlimited (4s), 1/8 club (2-4S along with motor size and other restrictions) also there is 1/10 club (2s). Most ROAR pros hardly break anything so I guess that means every 1/8 buggy is ultra-durable. I am not saying the Techno is glass but for half the price I can compete in a buggy I have yet to see break any my club. I would run a Techno over a Team AE for sure but for $700 I will stick to my $400 Arrma TLR.
@@philsonnenberg6092 Yeah no I wasn't knocking you by any means, have fun with what works for you! I am lucky enough to live next to the track that hosted the ROAR nationals on RCLIVE and JCONCEPTS channel last month, as well as 40min from LCRC which just had the Mugen challenge.
I have a few older versions.By far the most durable rc I've ever heard of.
I had the original, both buggy and truggy. It was way to rear happy, but I may order this one. My SCT410 was always money though, that thing won a lot of races.
Have you owned mugens, if so how do they compare. I had mugen buggy and truggy mbx6 and they were awesome. Wanting to try tekno now
what on borad camera did you use on the rc
Is Kester the best solder to use for Bullets? Got some Austor 60-0 from amazon and dries to a dull grayish haze color. what's your thoughts
i refuse to buy anything other than 25t servos/horns..... its foolishness to make parts that aren't universal
Agreed!!! I have a spectrum servo in one car I habe had for years but protek in the other. I habe had to swap in tje middle of a club race to finish the night but having to swap the horn and all sucks plus you have to swap the the steering in the radio sucks as well. All first world problems but still lol
Yep agree totally
Couldn't agree more. Perfect way to lose customers
Highests servos those are beasts. I just got a kopropo bsx4 for my nitro and so hard to arrange a 23t spline
Very much agree 👍
I believe the new associated is way better. Much faster and jumps straight. I have the original 2.0 I don’t really see a reason to upgrade!! Sorry Tekno but not enough changes.
Lol. Setup and driver determines whether a 1/8 buggy is fast and jumps straight. Pretty much every 1/8 buggy from a major racing brand is capable of dominating when it’s in the right hands.
@@TranceFur That is true to a point. Chris Clark from team Associated let me drive the new rc8b4e before it was available. My laps went from 22-20 secs to 20 to 16 sec. The vehicle is just easier to drive.
@@thomashernandez4027 very interesting!
I just put electronics in my EB48 2.0. Also have ET48. The 2.1 loses a lot of parts comparability doesn’t it?
Wonder if a new et48 it en route that will have those front end parts that are now different?
truly a well built machine!!!
Is there an rc buggy with non offroad wheels? Like for asphalt type roads surface?
You can buy on road tires...
Anti clockwise screw at wrong arm side.front at right arm ,rear at left arm.
IMO….Techno is top of the line.
What is the best nitro and electric racing buggy money can buy guys ? Anyone know
Never been a Tekno fan. Used to work for Hobby town. Have sold and seen a lot of Tekno. Just wasnt feeling them. This does seem like a great car though.
Brad has not accepted orders in 2 years lol
Not a fan of the body but a great build and even better review.
Tekno bodies are definitely polarizing. Never loved the look of them myself, so I just got a body from LFR when it came time to replace the stock one.
What scale?
Wondering which one to go between this model and the rc8 t4e from team associate....
Looks solid, but anyone who runs it loses the right to gripe about the TLR Typhon being too heavy - the EB48 2.1 weighs more
How mu h better is this than an arrma or kyosho
man that price is spicey by the time you add in several hundred more in whats required to make it RTR. I think one of these are not in my near future.
Indestructible though like most teknos
@@Nathan-qt2zi has that crazy british guy proved that wrong yet lol
@@PatriotBrad not yet I think he said he's getting one though
@@Nathan-qt2zi ill prob start with a tamiya to build myself and pass some of the winter time. Wont go over 30 but will cost 1/3 the price. got into boats and now looking back at my 20yo brushed nicd traxxas units. Not sure where to go next! I have a feeling going brushless in the old units will result in the gearboxes leaving the chat. These were pre NiMh days even.
@@PatriotBrad cool I just bought myself a tlr typhon which is dirt cheap compared to this and probably just as good to me as I'm not the biggest tuner.
Wanted to listen to your opinion but then I saw that white ESC and noped out.
I want
Looks like basher buggy
Lol what?
Nice car but my 22x-4 would have something to say about all this lol
This is 1/8 though.
@@skyekaptain8010 ahh true didn't see that my bad
Why is it so advanced if it is literally more of the same? like any other rc car but higher quality?
As soon as he said the tekin speed control was reliable I bailed from this review lol
That thing hauls major ass wow...
Would like to see less effort in being cinematic and more real time footage of the car running the track. It’s almost impossible to see how it actually performs with all these “stylistic” and slow mo shots.
Noted! what do you think of the onboard footage of the shocks etc?
@@413RC I like it!
@@travis.sewilo Will try to include more "real world" video of the car running and making turns etc!
The track portion of this video is unwatchable with the drone footage!
Infact I’m the first viewer
Sorry to say but I prefer videos from you on your channel. Who‘s this guy ?
Tekin servos are very well priced....thats the joke of the week!😂
Tekin anything is well priced.....just adding the punchline to your joke.....
can run just about anything else for the same performance and 50% more reliability and have money left over for food and beer.
Nitro or Nothing
That would be the NB 48 2.1
First
Omg.... You copied kyoshos front and back from the "turbo Optima" from the 80"s and say its new .,..,.. worst ever rc wannabe
junk
Tekno Tekno tekno. Theres no limit🤣.
When is tekno going to win " The Worlds"??? What brand has most wins in The Worlds..??? Mugen, losi, Team associated, kyosho?? Did tekno fix the rear diff problem on the nitro?? If they did, I might buy one...
