Top tier content. The video footage from the drone, hand held and on the car is so good. Really cool track with lots of room to stretch. You guys captured the limits of this car. Love it
I'd like to see this compared to a associated buggy of the some class. I'm a associated fan boy but would love to see a comparison on tekno. I don't see alot at my local track. It's mostly tlr or ae.
I am a huge AE fanboy too always have been. But I bought an EB48.4 last year at half price NIB and I love it. The only AE I can compare it too is a RC8FT. Live my RC8 but the Tekno is alot tougher and drives just as well just a lil different. It is VERY adjustable too.
Agreed!!! I have a spectrum servo in one car I habe had for years but protek in the other. I habe had to swap in tje middle of a club race to finish the night but having to swap the horn and all sucks plus you have to swap the the steering in the radio sucks as well. All first world problems but still lol
Amazing! What a beautiful design! RCM Baby! The place to race! Miss being around the racing so much! Awesome video! Dean you the man! Lots of great information! Thanks for sharing!
Why aren't everyone mounting the motors like the new Associated Buggy? I just can't believe it's good to have the mounting only on one end even if the motor lays on the tray. Am I wrong?
Well thanks a lot RCDriver. 😉 Now I’ve got another £1k+ to find and spend over here in the U.K. Keep the great videos coming. I’ve only got one 1/8 which is my Vorza so this is definitely going to be added, at some point.
Awesome video, I just like seeing tekin still going from my days. I have a original Avante that i can still us and runs great. But seeing the design of the new ones, AAA+++. A far cry from my Wild Willy. And even the Hot Shot back then was awesome too. How about this one, My friend had the Optima and the front wheel drive one, And yes, we cut it and half and made a all wheel drive Duel engine off road car, There is nothing to compare it too. It was faster then a Stinger nitro car. And that was in 1988, I just tried to find the name of the car Kyosho made that was front wheel drive-Anyone remember. Well wish I had that car. Great video.
I love the chassis, drive line and overall quality. There are a few Techno 2.0 (1-3 on any given weekend) running at my local track and they are pretty quick but also pretty fragile it seems. I run the Arrma TLR (I know, I know but its CHEAP and cheap to fix IF it breaks). I am no where near as fast into the corners as the Techno but I can get outta the corner slightly faster. Only thing I can't stand is that 1980's body is just aweful.
@@PaddyPatrone Well I didn't dream it. There were 2 Techno 2.0 last Saturday and both had breakage. I guess it could be set up related but one guy bend 3 front turnbuckles along with a front hinge pin. The other guy was slow (he is ALWAYS slow) but he bent a rear turnbuckle and broke a rod end. I guess nothing major, but it still put them out for the session. Only other break (other than a few servos) was some kids face planting the triple and DESTROYING his Associated (not sure if it is the newest one). It was glorious carnage. So, yea, 2 Techno drivers and both has issues.
What class do you run? I have never had any problem in the expert class with any brand buggy continually breaking. I won the intermediate 1/8 buggy class with my sons Aarma senton short course basher on only 2s last weekend lol. It's all relative to the driver. That is why I dismiss a lot of claims on the interwebs and stick to ROAR racers for info on cars.
@@JimmyBeanz13 No ROAR events in my area really. Just club racing but we have 1/8 buggy unlimited (4s), 1/8 club (2-4S along with motor size and other restrictions) also there is 1/10 club (2s). Most ROAR pros hardly break anything so I guess that means every 1/8 buggy is ultra-durable. I am not saying the Techno is glass but for half the price I can compete in a buggy I have yet to see break any my club. I would run a Techno over a Team AE for sure but for $700 I will stick to my $400 Arrma TLR.
@@philsonnenberg6092 Yeah no I wasn't knocking you by any means, have fun with what works for you! I am lucky enough to live next to the track that hosted the ROAR nationals on RCLIVE and JCONCEPTS channel last month, as well as 40min from LCRC which just had the Mugen challenge.
I believe the new associated is way better. Much faster and jumps straight. I have the original 2.0 I don’t really see a reason to upgrade!! Sorry Tekno but not enough changes.
Lol. Setup and driver determines whether a 1/8 buggy is fast and jumps straight. Pretty much every 1/8 buggy from a major racing brand is capable of dominating when it’s in the right hands.
@@TranceFur That is true to a point. Chris Clark from team Associated let me drive the new rc8b4e before it was available. My laps went from 22-20 secs to 20 to 16 sec. The vehicle is just easier to drive.
Great video. Looking to replace my TLR 8ight-XE, and this is now my top pick. Only 'complaint' about the video is the pushing of Tekin electronics (in the video, spoken like a true Tekin-sponsored driver). Not saying Tekin isn't "good" (it is)...but, Tekin IS overpriced.
I just put electronics in my EB48 2.0. Also have ET48. The 2.1 loses a lot of parts comparability doesn’t it? Wonder if a new et48 it en route that will have those front end parts that are now different?
I had the original, both buggy and truggy. It was way to rear happy, but I may order this one. My SCT410 was always money though, that thing won a lot of races.
@@Nathan-qt2zi ill prob start with a tamiya to build myself and pass some of the winter time. Would like to see less effort in being cinematic and more real time footage of the car running the track. It’s almost impossible to see how it actually performs with all these “stylistic” and slow mo shots.

Tekin anything is well priced.....just adding the punchline to your joke..... can run just about anything else for the same performance and 50% more reliability and have money left over for food and beer.
