Don't always use blending though it can mess colours up sometimes so use it wisely

I would recommend starting with making 1.0 - 1.3 style levels and then working your way into more complicated territory

Making a good modern level is hard actually, but it’s easier to make one that looks passable than it is for other styles.
This guide only makes them look "good", but a level can look good and have ultra-bad gameplay, that its own creator had to use cheats to beat it
just so you know I'm working on a modern style and when it comes out it will be called "white and black"
