I bought the K55 and the RGB didn't work (and won't work on MAC) on neither my MBP or ACER Predator. So I exchanged it for the Razer which I am yet to try it out. In saying that the Corsair was good but didnt really like the feel of it..
Spectre 54 IF you ask me i have one but the rgb lightning is very dark and it sounds well but not so good. I Dont want to destroy your excitement but its the true
Get it, the feel of typing on it is nothing like anything i've ever tried myself. So satisfying, botht ot the touch and and the tactile feedback. Not very loud, but the click is there!
This comparison was very helpful to decide which keyboard is the best for the prices. I recently ordered a Corsair K55 and it hasnt delivered yet, so watching this video did help explain some of the drawbacks im getting from this purchase. Although my only let down is the duller RGB lights, the included media controls and macro keys really are what tops the K55 off for me. I wouldnt realize what benefits i would be getting out of the K55 if it werent for this comparison. Great video Nick!
I just bought the K55 Corsair and love it. The key sound is quite subdued, so any key tapping sound is rather mute. For entry to medium level gaming, it is perfect. If you want a higher end gaming keyboard, then the K95 is the best bet. I have started switching from Logitech to Corsair since the latter has a better reliability rating. The K55 wrist/palm pad is plastic, it does feel a bit softer than regular plastic but suffices. Although the magnetic attachment on the Razer is a great idea because small plastic clips do tend to break easily, at least that was the case with Logitech G510 & 510s keyboard. I think the downside to a padded palm pad will likely crack and deteriorate over time from the sweat of the hands. Sweat and skin oils do play havoc with surfaces like plastic, vinyl etc, so what advantage from the Razer pad will wear-out its advantage faster than straight plastic. Key clicking sounds, in themselves, are really useless, because unless the sound is related to a key performance / wear / stroke advantage, it has no practical value at all. Raised keys versus a lower profile key, I prefer the raised one. It makes the "touch" (tactile feel) far more definite. I used to have an Acer standard keyboard that came with the computer and its keys were low profile. I did not like it much, took too long to get used to. In the end of all this, it is a personal preference. It appears the Razer is equal to the K55. Note: if you plan to buy the K55, try to look for the set version (keyboard - gaming mouse - mouse pad) for a price that is less than $120. I just missed that opportunity when I was looking to get the K55.
@@Toyoquik1 Yes, same with the Logitech. Good thing about Corsair, they have a key replacement program on their website. You can get up to 5 keys replaced for just the postage fee. Not long ago, I tried to get 5 keys ordered, but they were out of stock at that time, so I just ordered the space key and I got 3 space keys in the mail.
I really like my Ornata. You don't mention it in the review but the synapse software integrates with a lot of popular games and will dynamically change colors and brightness or highlight keys in reaction to what is going on in the game. It's a feature that really steals the show when you aren't expecting it. Keep up the good reviews!
Why razer isn't overpriced: -you pay an awesome wrist rest -you pay the software (that is awesome and always updated) -you pay the sponsor of razer -you pay the site of razer (that is well done) -you pay the giveaways that they do, and thier giveaways are not just one every year (about 100 dollars every week) -you pay the packaging -and also you pay the cable (that is premium quality) I have the ornata, and it's really good, the plastic isn' t cheap, but it fells more like a membrane keyboard than a mechanical one.
Every company does this how is this Razer exclusive the only thing other companies don't do is give always and even then companies do giveaways with other organizations that they sponsor all your point make no sense and can be debunked
You get software for the Corsair keyboard too, when I had the K55 a few weeks ago, Corsairs iCUE software allows you to do all of the same things as the Razer software does, so you are not exactly paying for the software with either of them.
Sam Burnside this is true, I have a k55 and I have about as much customization as the ornata, also razers crappy “hybrid” keys are actually worse than membrane because the resistance adds more input time than a normal membrane, also all of the $50 extra is for not even a full sheet of sheet metal and some thing cotton pleather wrist rest.
very good comparison! it was very high quality and you listed a lot of facts and did a great job comparing them. keep up the great work. is there any way you could compare the Beats Studio Wireless to the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless? I have Beats Studio Wireless and after seeing your Skullcandy Crusher Wireless review, i kind of want a pair of crushers. so i'd love to see a comparison between them to see if the crushers are worth getting.
Bro I just got the crushers and I had the beats, and lemme tell ya the crushers are way fuckin better. More comfy, more bass, more clarity, more style. Get em
I personally wouldn't buy any of these as I think they're too expensive for what they are since I've gotten RGB mechanical keyboards new from Razer for about $100 and that's with the new switch from Greetech, but the Ornata definitely looks like the better keyboard between these two, as it should be since there's a pretty big price difference. The Ornata's lighting is a lot more complete in terms of features and brightness and I prefer having some tactile feedback as opposed to none. The K55's top plastic part is also a haven for scratches and the wrist rest is also better on the Ornata, even Corsair's more premium mechanical keyboard models have the issues of the plastic clip breaking off very easily. The only thing I find lacking on Razer's keyboards is the lack of a volume wheel/mute button.
I would say that the Razer ornata is better because of the smoother lighting, comfortable wrist rest, and many costimizable lighting effects. On the flip side, The Corsair k55 is better for someone on a budget to just get a better keybord for thier games. I own the k55, and I don't really care about all of these lighting effects and so on, I just got it to replace my crappy default keyboard for a better expirience in my games. So, I would say that both are just as good for what you get out of them.
After this video I bought the k55 because this really shows just how many features you get in such a budget friendly key board I love it! There are other key boards out there twice the price with not even a 3rd of the features and build quality , Corsair for the win on this one!
keep going man never give up with those quality videos I am sure you will make it and eventually you will grow to have haters and that only means your successful 😉😉😉😉
I have the Ornata Chroma and it's so good, the mecha membrane switches feel amazing, iv'e owned mechanical blues and they feel the same but with a lower pitcher voice just like the brown switches, perfect for me. BTW the lighting is so awesome, it also confiders by it self with some games ( you can disable it) and lights up in different colors for the situation of the game, like if you have low health it'll pulsate red, healing green, etc.
WolfknightGX For a keyboard that's only 50 dollars compared to a 100 dollar keyboard, there shouldn't be anything to complain about. Go ahead, ask mommy and daddy to buy you a razer.
If I'm going to upgrade my keyboard, I think I'm going with the Chroma, it's a nice investment, and I totally agree with you when you said that it is nicer to type on the Chroma keyboard than on the K55. Thanks, man! Lovin' your reviews and comparison. Great videos always.
yet again I stumbled on one of your videos, yet asking myself again why you still don't have more than 100k subs XD overall this was an amazing review, it had many information given, and you explained in detail what the differences between each of those 2 keyboards are. in my personal opinion, the ornate is much better, but I don't think it is still worth its $100. rather I'd give it a price of 70-80 dollars; that is just my opinion though. keep up the amazing work!
I've had both, k55 is better in the long run. Ornata is great for awhile, and then runs into tons of issues. Over time the hand rest positioning begins to make your wrist sore, if your hands get sweaty it slips around, it just overall feels awkward. Keys on the board also jam a lot
I have the ornata and I love it you have complete control over it and the typing sounds nice and the cable is good quality and also the wrist rest is one of the best you will ever get with a keyboard
I've been using Ornata Chroma for 2-3 years now and I've never been this satisfied with a keyboard ever. Maybe because I actually like pressing membrane keyboards but still prefer mechanical over it in terms of gaming, so you mix both together and you have mecha membrane keyboard! Perfect for my taste! I guess it's a personal preference? It was frustrating at first cause the keys sometimes get stuck and you realized it's a membrane so you think that there was no way to fix but in reality, it is very to fix! Once you learn how to do pull the keys out and put it back properly, it's perfection. I clean it every now and then, just like a mechanical keyboard. Will definitely buy another one when my current breaks, which I doubt it'll be anytime soon.
i mean, the ornata is technically better but, i don't think its worth a 100 bucks. it should cost about 80 bucks or so, and then it would be a great deal;)
its funny how he set the ornata at a higher speed motion but the k55 is at the lowest possible speed. If he set the k55 on a higher speed it would much better
love the videos. you give all the needed info and a lot of detail. i have one question. can i make the k55 backlight all purple or is it always going to be 3 different colours?
I bought the ornata chroma on sale when it only was for 55$ I saw it and it looked really nice and after some research it seems really good and especially for that price.
Nick: "let me know what you think in the comments below..." Me: I KNOW that I'm subscribing. Awesome video! Glad I ran into this channel, although we're now in 2022. Still relevant since both keyboards have over 10K+ 4.6 Star ratings!
I'm all for Corsair, they're my favorite company, but the Ornata definitely takes the win here... But for the price, you might as well just buy a cheap mech keyboard. There some cheap ones out there with good build and quality too.
@Game Bros. Well, No, you're talking in this comment that i did 11 months ago, Ornata is well overpriced for what offers, i didn't recommend this two keyboards, but is Fact, K55 is a Smarter Choice than Ornata
@Game Bros. this arguments still real and valid, Inst Hybrid, Still Membrane, you know it right, Membrane with sound still membrane, are you Defending Gayzer?? Lol, with the price of that you can buy a Mechanic Keyboard, Ornata is like the old K50 objective, a Premium Membrane Keyboard, and.. Still Membrane, Still not a good Option, you know that right, don't be stupid
@Game Bros. Who prefer does not matter, because it's a specific situation, personal taste is a thing, cost and the benefits is another, quality is another, durability is another, we have many types of switches for the Public
Am I the only that click on the Nick's video and the first thing that i do is press the like botton and then watch the video? Love ur reviews man u awesome!
And you can just remove the metal thingies from the switches on the Ornata and make it silent if you don't like it being super loud (which I know is basically the gimmick/selling point of the keyboard, but I'd prefer that keyboard not sounding like a MX Blue switch keyboard)
I was in the store today and touched some keyboards. I stopped at this one, as it had no wrist rest I didn't know immediately what keyboard it was. But it was the only "mechanical" keyboard that actually felt nice to type on. (And they had all kinds of models in the shop, Blackwidow, Corsair K95 Platinum etc)
A lot of manufacturers advertise rollover as anti-ghosting, when they have nothing to do with each other. "Ghosting" is when a key is registered while that key is not being pressed (as if a ghost were pressing it), while "rollover" refers to the amount of keys that can be individually pressed at once and be detected properly by the keyboard. Also, if you are looking for a mechanical keyboard, DO NOT buy one of these. They are very clearly rubber dome keyboards. I can't attest to the feel of the K55, but the Ornata is very blatantly a dome with slider design with a clickleaf. That said, the Ornata's rubber domes are very good, and I do like them, so if that's what you're after it's a good option. Is it worth the price of a KBParadise V60 Mini with Alps SKCM Blue switches? Not to me, but maybe to you. Just explore your options.
no man giving you a like you think that we care about the soundtest? Your comment just got 3 likes in 7 months including yourself! Try again next time.
Martin Melby I bet you're disappointed with your purchase on the ornata chroma so you're talking trash about the better keyboard that is a cheaper price
I'd get the K55 just because the only competitive advantage in a way is just the wrist rest and i dont care about lighting i would also prefer the quiter keys
I bought the Ornata for 88€. It's very worth it in my opinion but the only bad thing is when it' dark in ur room u can't see the keys if your LED's are off
It will be much better if Razer did move the clicker a little bit bottom out. The membrane with rubber dome does not register key presses all that well until you bottom out virtually every time you press the key. The rubber dome over membrane switch does not have an advantage of half-actuation that most of mechanical switches (and Topre, which is rubber dome plus coil spring over PCB) have.
GamingWithNael , Razer Mice inst "very good" , is like a good quality, but not premium, Razer's mouse Can't Beat Logitech G502 or Corsair Glaive RGB in Construction Quality, they need Deathadder Elite for Beat the performance, but is very less durable than G502 and Glaive
I got the Ornata Chroma as it was a safer buy, as in when I got it for Xmas I wouldn't have to worry if it was out of stock, I also don't have the footprint for the Corsair K55 (length and stuff). been using it for 3 months now and it's great. Synapse 3 is so customizable. HOWEVER, I will say when gaming I hate the way some keys like Shift will lose its press with some wiggle. like running can be a pain. might just be me but its a good trade off for the wrist rest (which is nice but I can feel the plastic behind it at times. Good keyboard 6/10. Introduced me to Razer and mechanical keyboards despite not being one.
Vincent Shut The Fuck Up , Design is that a personal file, the people that prefer a design, and Quality at Corsair K55 is MUCH better than ornata, i'm not saying of Wrist Wrest, Ornata is $99, K55 is $50, $99 i go for a mechanic, now, go fuck yourself fanboy, i'm good with my logitech G710+
Ok sry. You're right i send it back.Razer mecha-membrane sucks. Now i have 3 options Razer blackwidow chroma v2(yellow switch),Corsair k70 lux rgb or the logitech g910.What should i buy?????!!!! PLZ HALP
Vincent de smedt Logitech G810 Is the most comfortable keyboard , but K70 comes with a wrist rest, Ornata inst mechanic, go for K70 or G810, go for the one that you find cheaper
I have had the following; Corsair k55, k70, and the razer ornata, blackwidow ( all rgb) and I actually prefer the ornata (yes over the blackwidow) as is is very clicky but still has the response of the membrane keys, it also has great chroma customization and the short keys make the rgb show through. It is also more solid built and is more durable over time. :) keep in mind these are my opinions and they are not facts for as far as I’m aware they are true though. Edit: it also has razer cynosa backing it up and I love that program
So a 50 dollar corsair keyboard includes a wristrest and a 160 dollar logitech g810 cant even include one. Wth logitech.
Elite Exposure ever heard of amazon
Yesto yeah and thats another 20. So it takes 180 to get a kb with a wristrest vs a 50 lel
The $50 keyboard isnt mechanical. And I got my 810 for $100, who buys straight for the manufacture anymore?
Still, he need 1 and g810 don't have, he may not buy it. i don't understand why it matter, either he type it incorrect or not, he need it. So yeah.
The corsair keyboard wristrest is shit tho
I like how they did with the lights on the Razer one, it looks like the keys float on a sea of colours!
Ya boi 👍😊
The colours bleed hard from the keys
Oi I am a SocDem jep i OWN 5 RAZER keyboard the ornata has light bleed

Two of the most interesting keyboards in my opinion. Great video keep it up im loving them!

My brother got me the k55 last year its still my current keyboard im probably gonna buy the k95 with my own money in the future
6:26 yeah... A LITTLE
its funny how he set the ornata at a higher speed motion but the k55 is at the lowest possible speed. If he set the k55 on a higher speed it would much better
@@goku5993 it wouldnt really matter, the k55 doesnt have per key lighting like razer chroma
the wrist rest feels sooo nice. espically for games where your going to be using WASD the whole time
I have both I like Corsair more the keys are better trust me
I have the corsair k55 and tested the ornata at a store and it actually feels really bad
As
love the videos. you give all the needed info and a lot of detail. i have one question. can i make the k55 backlight all purple or is it always going to be 3 different colours?
k55 better
TeckGT xD no.
Cuz u have k55 m8, i bet u would say ornata is better if u have the ornata xD
Mahessa Huzaeny Well I say for price likely k55 as its only 55 and your getting a decent keyboard.
Shane LeGrand yep and I just got a ornata chroma for 50 :) (target price matches)
TeckGT pop yeah
I bought the ornata chroma on sale when it only was for 55$ I saw it and it looked really nice and after some research it seems really good and especially for that price.
Can the K55 have all white backlighting mode (like in macbook pro) ? Some time im just in the mood of typing essay
Yes! White is one of the 8 colors that you can choose from.
aah i see thanks mate for confirming !!
Yep I Agree!!
Adhito yes it can
Nick Capaccio Is teal a color option?
I have the k55 and it’s amazing
they aren't really comparable...the corsair one and the cm storm masterkeys lite l are though...
or the logitech g213
ultra clorox bleach ye the price difference is too much
Nick: "let me know what you think in the comments below..."
Me: I KNOW that I'm subscribing.
There some cheap ones out there with good build and quality too.
agreed, I am getting a red dragon mechanical keyboard for $40.
hopefully price won't go up :p
Ornata is NOT better than K55, They're All Membrane, Corsair Have a Better Construction, and they are more durable, Sorry Buddy, Razer's Lose
I like how the differences maybe should distinguish the price difference at like $15-25 but the ornata is twice the price of the K55.
I prefer the xtrfy k2 rgb :)
Got a Logi G610 Orion Blue with MX Blues for the same price as the Ornata. Although it doesn’t have RGB, I enjoy typing and gaming with it.
Corsair K55 and K70 is much better than rainbow keyboards that costs more than a damn toaster!
I mean Razer keyboards
Btw i want razer toaster chroma
SGG /GD and more/ xdddd
Am I the only that click on the Nick's video and the first thing that i do is press the like botton and then watch the video?
Love ur reviews man u awesome!
The ornata looks like a box with floating keys
no
I use a k55 and i love it!
I would buy the razer one cause but IT is too loud
Gamma have you ever used an mx blue before?
I fucking despise cherry mix blues, nobody can get any sleep with a person in the next room typing like no tomorrow.
And you can just remove the metal thingies from the switches on the Ornata and make it silent if you don't like it being super loud (which I know is basically the gimmick/selling point of the keyboard, but I'd prefer that keyboard not sounding like a MX Blue switch keyboard)
a HUNDRED dollars for a "mecha-mechanic" keyboard? I don't even know what I should be more worried for
Leo585
I actually really like mid-height keys and the ornata imo looks better... But same. Not paying $100 for that lol.
Baggins It doesnt cost that much where i live
I have it and it feels reaaaaallly good to type on. The combination somehow makes it feel really nice to type on.
You don’t know what you’re talking about if you’ve never tried it in store
Very nice review, gives you the facts and personal opinions respectively. Deserves more subs
Which one is more durable ?
In my experinece you can't bash or scratch the Ornata
Corsair K55 is more durable and more resistant
I typed this comment with the ornate chroma and I love the sound and feel of this keyboard the customizable lighting is just amazing
K55
Funny thing is I have been using the K55 for years and just recently my friend bought a Chroma.
BUY THE BLACKWIDOW X CHROMA INSTAED :P
But you can only get green switchs on the x i want orange switchs there not very load
TheFatMan loud
Ehh they are pretty different
TheFatMan If the keyboard isnt loud then it isnt good xd
that keyboard is for minecraft players
I have k55 I love it and for just $50 u got all u need :D
They are both rgb half- mechanical keyboard
Razer-$99.99
Corsair-$48.99
justintaotc_0509 lmao
Martin Melby nope Razer sucks ass and Corsair feels great but not as customizable. But it’s still way better for the money.
I got yhe K55 because of this video thank you for the review
ornato chrome cost 2 time more and isnt worth it because there are so much better keyboard on 100 dollar
Just explore your options.
k55
the k55 keyboard does support the iCue software.. you're not only limited to the pre-set rgb modes..
4:37 you're welcome
no man giving you a like you think that we care about the soundtest? Your comment just got 3 likes in 7 months including yourself! Try again next time.
I have the Ornata and love it. Both are great brands so I could use both and feel good about it.
Razer Ornata Chroma > Corsair K55 RGB
nope, Corsair K55 RGB have more Quality, Ornata is only Beautiful
Vulkan fgt razer much better
nope, dont lie, bitch, go search
that's for personal taste, but the quality still better than the Ornata, and you will not stay the attention to keyboard sound when playing
Martin Melby I bet you're disappointed with your purchase on the ornata chroma so you're talking trash about the better keyboard that is a cheaper price
I'd get the K55 just because the only competitive advantage in a way is just the wrist rest and i dont care about lighting i would also prefer the quiter keys
heyy
Hey!
Gay
I bought the Ornata for 88€. It's very worth it in my opinion but the only bad thing is when it' dark in ur room u can't see the keys if your LED's are off
K55 has ugly noise
yeah.. but they're better quality and they are more durable
RobloxPage 69 Bit late, but Corsair is MUCH more reliable.
@RobloxPage 69 r/ihadastroke nice grammar man
It will be much better if Razer did move the clicker a little bit bottom out. The membrane with rubber dome does not register key presses all that well until you bottom out virtually every time you press the key. The rubber dome over membrane switch does not have an advantage of half-actuation that most of mechanical switches (and Topre, which is rubber dome plus coil spring over PCB) have.
RAZER
NB Their mechanical keys are trash but the mice, headsets are good
NB nice
GamingWithNael , Razer Mice inst "very good" , is like a good quality, but not premium, Razer's mouse Can't Beat Logitech G502 or Corsair Glaive RGB in Construction Quality, they need Deathadder Elite for Beat the performance, but is very less durable than G502 and Glaive
i bought the k55 after this video;)
ornata chromoa
Corsair K55 is better quality, Ornata is Beautiful
Martin Melby buy a mechanical keyboard for that money tard
Sieff I am Martin melby and i now use the k95 platinum but when i tried the ornata in store it was way bether than the k55
Vulkan ornata is better for gaming
Godd Howard yes
you can use corsair icue to customize rgb lighting and macro keys
ornata wins eazily
Nasos Gaming lmao razer fanboy
Nasos Gaming why? cuz of the lighting??? its 50 bucks more ....Corsair wins here
CorruptedBlaze cuz it’s better....?
CorruptedBlaze I could call you a Corsair fanboy if that was the case👋
EyeKnow no. Everything about it’s
Introduced me to Razer and mechanical keyboards despite not being one.
ornata is better.
nope, corsair is better quality
PLZ HALP
Vincent de smedt Logitech G810 Is the most comfortable keyboard , but K70 comes with a wrist rest, Ornata inst mechanic, go for K70 or G810, go for the one that you find cheaper
i he had ornata 4 months now and i love it......but because im a huge razer fan i might get my third razer keyboard (blackwidow v2)
I got my Razer Ornata Chroma for 32$ and i am super happy with it
And btw, i got the ornata chroma for 55€ which is about 60$ with a regular price of 110€ for holiday sales
I bought ornata at sale and i love it more than my previous mechanichal keyboard
