    This is the exact video I needed. I have been aware of my early extension for at least 5 years now but absolutely nothing I did would eliminate it. Finally this week I realized the “feel” i need on the downswing is to have zero lateral moment toward the target in the downswing and only “feel” pure rotation. I filmed my swing and it is the first time EVER I was able to maintain my tush line. However, the club is steepening a bit because I don’t have the EE to shallow it. This is what I need to work on. Thanks Eric!

    Took this feel To the range today after not having hit a ball for three weeks and was carrying my 8 iron 150 yards in pretty freezing conditions here in the uk. Felt really uncomplicated and it seemed like as the right shoulder gets closer to the ball, the hips respond and open rather than as a conscious deliberate action. Also felt like my hands /club were Leavers just catching up and releasing for the sweet contact. Really happy with this Eric. Great lesson Happy new year

    Good explanation, I understand you wanted to talk about upper. I wish you would of incorporated the squat move into this I think this would make this a lot more easier to understand what should happen. Looking at the pros they all squat first then the rest of the movements fall inline. I can see folks trying to bend forward and lean back without thinking about the squat which would make this less complicated. Thanks for all the great videos. I trust you teachings.

    @thomasprejean2107 3 года назад +1

    After hitting about 200 balls working on the rotation of the right cage I realized that Scott and Rory drop on the downswing isn’t from a squatting motion but is a result of driving the right knee forward toward the ball resulting in what appears to be squatting motion. Do you agree.

    You need to discuss the way you must change the way you typically swing your right hand.
    If you cover the ball with your chest and a Right Side bend, you must keep your right arm bent 90 degrees until impact.
    You must delay releasing it. As you rotate the torso through.
    Otherwise you will hit fat shots all day long.

    Wondering if you can help we with this. I've always early extended and flipped the club. I'm now able to stay in my posture and shallow the club with open hips, but near impact my left hip feels like it gets caught or stuck in the socket. If I force my hips more open the hip has a grinding pop and can freely move from there. Does this mean I'm in a wrong position, or might it be something else you might not be able to answer such as a rotational stability issue with my hip? When both my legs are bent with open hips, the pop comes when I straighten my left leg from there.

    Eric, one thing I want to mention that I ran into when trying to add right side bend into my swing is getting stuck and actually caused a slide with the right shoulder too far back and actually some back pain. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing this, would be interested on your thoughts.
    While this is my specific case/feels vs reals, when I just felt my hips and shoulders rotating on the same plane, but hips starting to rotate first, it caused a more natural right side bend.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  3 года назад +1

      Hey Tj!
      Yeah man it just sounds like you may have over done it....
      You can over do anything.
      To off set the right side bend you want to keep the left side of pelvis lower longer....
      Combine those two and you will be centered and good
      If you right side bend too much and left hip goes too far up as well then you get stuck...too much tilt and not enough turn
      This would be good drill to neutralize that
