- Taken from a VHS tape directly from Ronco Inc, by a family member who was involved with the company. Even featuring appearances by Ron Popeil himself! Any video errors are from the tape itself, and all the record commercials have their endings clipped for some reason. This was one of the resources used for my father's book "The Rise and Fall of the Popeil Gadget Dynasty"
Ron Popeil passed away on July 28, 2021

RIP Ron Popeil. He was one of a kind.
Omg...why am I sitting here watching Ronco commercials in 2019...I need a life....
Jeff polara - You’re not the only one my friend.
Perhaps you are flashing back to your childhood during the Christmas season in the 1970s. I love those commercials!
I here also reminiscing the past some 40 years after they first aired.
Here, have mine.
Schadenfreude? 😁
Gotta hand it to Ron Popeil. The guy knew how to market a product like no one else. Probably sold hundreds of thousands of those damn "inside the eggshell" egg scramblers. Thanks for the video. Brought back a lot of memories
There was a second ad for the Record Vacuum that doesn’t seem to be here. It started out, “Are your records sounding like THIS... when they could be sounding like THIS?” (Of course, due to the poor fidelity on TV’s at the time, they sounded exactly alike.)
I dropped my phone when they reccomended Mr. Dentist for your DOG!!!
LOL
TOO FUNNY
Just don't get them mixed up! 🐩
R.I P Ron you were a one of a kind
Rest in peace Ron Popeil, founder of Ronco.
RIP Ron Popeil. I'm going to set my memory to NEVER forget you.
Wonderfully put!
He passed?
R.I.P. Mr. Ron Popeil of Ronco products, I enjoyed many summer days using your pocket fisherman eh
As somebody born in early 1960's I thought I knew all things Ronco...until I saw this video...definitely some I didn't know about or couldn't remember..
Damn. I'd love to have those records.
Yup have Ronco’s Starfire compilation on cassette & still works perfectly too! 👍👍 Also have Disco super hits on vinyl & in mint condition too! 🙂🎵🙂🎵🙂
Reminds me of childhood and a time when I didn’t have a care in the world
My thoughts exactly. A better time.
@@systemicpandemic8770Now in my near 50's, I feel too jaded by today's world.
Whoa. Some of these commercials were always playing in the background while I was playing with matchbox cars or Star Wars toys. It instantly took me back. Oh, and somebody DID get the smokeless ashtray for Christmas!
Haha I know right
Ronco sure loved England Dan and John Ford Coley.
And Barry Manilow.
They weren't takin bout the linen
Thank you Ron Popeil for revolutionizing the way we used our everyday products with your inventive and catchy devices. May you RIP.
It just wasn’t Christmas until the Ronco commercials started playing.
Thanks for the blast from the past.
I was just thinking that. It's kinda fun to watch these again. Nothing else to do. #Boredinthehouse
Gee I wonder if they made great Christmas gifts
Seriously? 😆
According to liberals, they are Holiday gifts...Merry Christmas everyone!!
@@oldiesmusic76
Thank you liberals.
Not.
I had the record vacuum and the smokeless ashtray! 😂
How did they work?
@@josephfrank1472 they didn’t
We and our dogs share one *Mr. Dentist* Now we're all housebroken.
A lot of these products were ahead of their time.
🙏RIP dear sweet man, RIP🙏💝
An American treasure. So many generations grew up watching his commercials. He was a self made celebrity in his own right. 🤩 Respect. 🏆🥇💝
Between these and those “K-Tel” albums, I nearly went BROKE!
Not to mention the “Yacht Rock” HELL I was in!
RIP Ron Popeil (father of Ronco)
RIP Ron. Thank you for some of the most random, fun and goofy commercials of my childhood.
You know, those ads for song compilations actually lasted longer than the records.
The Disco album alone was teeth-gnashingly bad. 😫
OMG...why am I sitting here listening to Ronco commercials in 2022 - I have a life. 🤣
Sounds like someone needs to Tonco mind cleanet
Snoopy vs the red Baron....now that's my jam
RIP Ron
I thought I had seen it all the Christmas I got the Mr. Microphone!!
That's cool
hittin me right in the nostalgias lol
RIP
We had the air cleaner, smokless ashtray, and I had at least one of those albums.
RIP Mr.Popeil

No problem
Continuous music! Just like they play in the discos!
The Ronco Gift Center may have been a brick and mortar operation. Remember the "seen on TV" stores ten years back? This may have been a precursor. Today we have sections at the Walmart checkouts for "seen on TV" items.
RIP RON WE LOVE YOU AND WE MISS YOU
Ron Popeli Rest in Peace 🕊️
Smokeless ashtray doesn’t solve the problem when people actually smoke the cigarette lol
16:49 Journey is showing but the Little River Band is singing! RIP Ron Popeil
Still better then the crap in 2022!! Always looked forward to These commercials around Christmas. 🥇🏆😊
16:42 "And the great little river band!"....plays journeys lovin touchin squeezin video 😂
Those record commercials. 💯
12:59 For those of you not around back then, this was known as, "Shuckin' and Jivin'".
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing it! I wish I could give it more 👍👍👍👍👍
England Dan was on every album
I always thought it was 5 guys: England, Dan, John, Ford, Coley.
Kinda like Hamilton, Joe, Frank. & Reynolds.
I still have every one of these products unopen. I wonder how much they are worth now?
Are they in mint condition? 🧾
they cost more thanks to biden's stupid inflation rates.
Awesome!!! Brings back memories! Today, they would say, a great HOLIDAY gift. Merry Christmas.
Does the battery tester use batteries? Haha
I absolutely loved it thank you so much.... at 2:22 is Joe E Tata played Nat on 90210
How about all the Home Shopping Service commericials for The Miracle Eraser, The Home Jogger, & The Traveler?
Good question
I knew I needed this
Ronco has been around for a long time
Well, this is getting added to my 'best vids of all time' playlist.
Fantastic...thank you for capturing marketing in those dayz!
Wow ... what a great collection of commercials ...
All these years later and I want to run out and buy so many of these !!! now that's advertising ...
I came here in search of the commercial for the 40song soundtrack to the 1973-'74 movie "That'll Be the Days" (starring David Essex and Ringo Starr).
The movie producer worked out a deal with Ronco to let them out out the soundtrack if they commit to a lot of TV advertising (because the movie studio wasn't going to commit to spending much on the film). He said Ronco agreed to spending 300 pounds on promoting the soundtrack if the producer would promise to put 40 (1950's era) songs in the movie. That was MORE than the movie studio WHOLE BUDGET for filming the movie!!!
Sadly ... I didn't notice the commercial here ... I wonder if he got the company wrong and it was a similar Compilation LP company that advertised heavily on TV ... or it just wasn't included on this.
Can't find it anywhere on RUclips 😢🤔 ...
These all must have been released around Christmas. BOY did I get tired of that little snippet of "Deck the Halls" at the end.
Screw you! I wish Ronco released that full song in .mp3 . I'd buy it without hesitation.
What if I like my pet odors trapped in draperies?
Just don't trap your pet in draperies.
Only if you're into cats. 😼
👍😃The old music hits at the end was a nice bonus to this video. 💝
miracle broom: girl just straight up smashes glass...
Dylan A I swear when I was a kid in 1974, that commercial looked very real like she did it accidentally!
She did not need a broom, she needed discipline.
@@leelalo6625 Why not Both and use the "Broom" on her!!!🧹💥
that battery tester is genius and why have i not seen anythign like it, and so simple to understand its juice left. ngl these are all legit great products. they are all great cures for very specific issues
The Buttoneer by RONCO,.....LoL.. That was a long running joke back in 5th grade......1979 😁
12:59 - 13:03 the most 70's thing ever conceived
-A 90's millenial
Record Vacuum is pretty damn #ThatsSo70s, as are the ads implying a smoke-filled workplace isn't an issue in any way so long as you have something to make the air smell a little better. But I'll grant you the pickup line in your chosen ad is incredibly '70s (and wouldn't have worked back then, either).
2:11 Filmed back in the days when people displayed their real teeth (and they weren’t blindingly white).
Some of these record ads either don't exist or have the wrong track listings. You never heard Andy Gibb, Queen, or Village People on a Ronco record. Were these ads for proposed record compilations before they became actual products? These are quite a rare find! Thanks for posting!
I believe this was an internal ad reel, don't really know much more than that. At one time my dad owned all the records listed however I never thought to check the track listings. Good observation!
We've got a few of these gems, and I'm pretty sure there's Abba and village people on them
It seems Ronco and K-tel must have had an exclusive deal with Barry Manilow. Every one of their compilations has at least 1 or 2 of his songs on them. It also seems every record had Jennifer Warnes Right Time Of The Night on them.
AWESOME!
How could you forget the pocket fisherman. I just bought one yesterday.
Not only saved for a long time can hurt somebody’s back, but also bending and lifting and carrying heavy stuff can damage somebody’s back to and shoulders
Pretty sure RONCO trademarked “makes the perfect gift”.
I never saw any of these commercials outside of the Christmas season. I absolutely love them! Did they ever have the commercials outside of Christmas?
Who else wound up getting about 90% of these fine items?
I know my parents had a few and I had some toys.
I need that egg scrambler
I made a window in my bedroom door with the miracle sander
A lot of nice Christmas gifts.
RIP RON POPEIL
Dang - I would have loved a Ronco Gift Center!
Ron Popeil was the infomercial king and the Salesman of the Century, per the title of his biography. As tacky as these commercials were, many of these Bronco gadgets really worked, Popeil designed many of them, and he could laugh at himself. 🙂
I read few yrs ago he sold the company for 50M. I used to watch his infomercials late at night just for fun. Had no idea he passed. He probably had a great life and left many children. He died at 86' I see. Not bad but many Ashkenazi Jews(which he was)live even longer. Anyway..rip !
Thank god most public places do not allow smoking anymore.
70s all I remember was smoky rooms
Does anyone remember the “Rolling Ruler”? That thing looked so cool. I begged my Dad to buy it. He said no for weeks and then one day I coughed up the $5.95 and said buy it. He did. Boy, what a horrible piece of crap that was. I’ve never bought another “As Seen on TV” product ever again. That was back in 1985. However, I did buy a bucket of worms from Bass Pro Shops that very same year. It was around the same price. Saw the ad in Field&Stream magazine. They subscribed my Dad to their catalogs thereafter. I believe he spent $20k or more from them in the years that followed. I can still hear my Mother cursing me…ah the memories.
I was today years old when I learned from the comments on this video that Ron Popeil did not die a decade or so ago. 😮
#RIPRonPopeil
The Ronco Gift Center has now become Thrift Store items. 🗑️
Whoa whoa whoa ... that was the "suggested" price.
Just a FYI...if you run the tape through a DVD recorder first, it may fix the tape glitches (or in some cases makes them worse!)
Oh really that's interesting.
Ah, memories of stumbling home in the wee hours buzzed, turning on UHF and seeing Ronco commercials.
"Are you tired of...?"
"But wait, there's more!"
"And it really, really works!"
Oh my God, my older sister’s husband, he builds houses and apartments and does maintenance on his side. He can use that.
I think I'm in love.
Ronco Records before Now that's what I call Music!
ron popiel,we miss you😏
Adjusted for inflation that plastic piece of junk Miracle Broom was like $50......no wonder nobody got much for Christmas back then....
Even in the 70’s as a kid i knew these products were crap
Haha yes
I wonder if KTel and Ronco were in competition with those cheapie song compilations.
Yeah, imagine that. 😆
That trucker with the autocup who’s one handing the steering wheel of a semi. Hilarious
“There’s a sucker born every minute.” -Ron Popeil
* I want to see the commercial for the device that turns a resonant surface such as a plywood wall into a giant hi-fi speaker with a teen guy happily saying "I got one and the gang thinks it's super!" ☺
I met Ron in LA one day, had o ask where his Pocket Fisherman was?
