I have a Rhino which is unique and very well made. It’s a crowded market for 1911’s, but it is interesting to see yet another quality company throwing their hat in the ring.
More or less crowded with junk from turkey and Philippines. Most of the higher quality brands like the colts and rugers are unobtanium. Exceptions being the sparse selection from Kimber and Springfield.

The colt could be had in gold, engraved or stainless, the ruger was only available in stainless but a couple different barrel lengths. Unobtainable only to blind people and sometimes criminals even without the internet. Are you blind?

To make things less confusing for everyone these 1911s are imported from Italy to the USA under the Charles Daly brand. Charles Daly has been importing these 1911s for a long time ever since the 1990s and they all have been very good quality! Out of all the 1911s for around $600 bucks or less I would personally select the Charles Daly, Springfield Armory, or the Tisas 1911 over all the others. All three of those are excellent quality for the money. Especially if your on a budget and would like to upgrade your pistol those 3 1911 makers are the way to go.
I wanted to add I also have the Charles Daly Field Grade 1911 and I like it more than my Tisas and the Tisas is hard to beat for the price. Its a very nicely done GI model 1911A1 and its "70 series" thank the heavens! Super easy to upgrade the gun took all my high end Wilson Combat parts with no issues.
I am surprised and delighted to wake up to your latest IWA upload , just Yesterday after reading Chip McCormick's obituary I learned Chip and Kimber started the concept and production of non-hand fitting 1911 pistols. I welcome this bc it brought the price of feature rich 1911's to an amazing low price. I was about to buy my first budget 1911 but bc of YOU, I can procrastinate 6 months or longer until the new Charles Daily line of 1911's hit our stores. Thank you James 👍💯❤️
Because all three of the guns you mentioned have major issues that make them problematic as a useable modern firearm. Love it or hate it, the 1911 is still a relevant pistol today.
@@TroopperFoFo the lugerman lugers are cool in a historic replica sense, but are about as useful as a Uberti "colt dragoon"...an interesting range toy, but not a practical firearm.

Its not a video but if you're hunting suggestions I'd suggest Tisas. They're Turkish but very highly reviewed and their chrome ones with adjustable irons usually run about 800 range.

@@thelastdragon3242 me and you look at very different guns. Ever Kimber I've dealt with since they moved locations in the 90's has been rough for the price, 1911's anyhow. Springfield has been dominating the $1k and lower market for ever. My RO Target fits real tight and is very accurate, and for the fact I only paid 750 for it it's untouchable lol. Now, I will say, I'd do bad things to get my hands on a Kimber K6S Combat....
Haha! James cares so little for 1911 details that he didn’t ask about series 70/80 or standard barrel bushing. That Field looks like an A1 or GI model with a fiberoptic front. Why are only few companies making a doublestack 9mm 1911?
Wilson combat makes them. Nighthawk too, Remington used to make them. Not sure about that now. Staccato makes them. RIA makes them. I guess they don’t make many of them because a lot of people don’t really want a double stack 1911. 20 rounds of 45 ACP is almost like carrying another small pistol weight wise. If you live in a Ten round mag state, it is useless. I want a 1911 double stack in 38 Super, but I can’t find one. Tangfolio has a nice one, and the New Sigs look and feel like 1911s. I can put them on top of each other and they are very much alike. Plus, I have them in SAO, so it is even more like a 1911.

@@killgriffin PSA is an interesting company. While I am not interested in a $300 dollar Glock clone, maybe this can help push the price of Glocks down. They have kept their prices artificially high for many years now.
The problem with a lot of 22 pistols is due to the low power of the round, companies will make the slides out of a light, cheap zinc type material, which over time is very prone to breakage. The early Walther p22s had the same issue. These should be fine seeing as they are made out of steel.

We need more 2011's and other _standard capacity_ 1911's. Standard capacity referring to a double-stack magazine. I don't think the world needs _more_ single-stack 1911 variants but to each their own I suppose. Either way, I refuse to adhere to this ridiculous label of "high capacity" nonsense. Thirty rounds is _standard capacity_ for rifles. Whereas anything with 12 rounds or more should be considered _standard capacity_ for pistols if we are using .45 ACP as the caliber basis. Obviously the round count will fluctuate with different calibers but I think you get my point. I surmise this is why the CZ-97 never gained any substantial notoriety. A large framed pistol of that size that only holds 10 rounds of .45 ACP seems rather absurd but I digress. Nonetheless, pick a caliber - any caliber and the people will rejoice. But remember, it has to be available in *_standard capacity,_* double-stack formats. Stay classy my friends.
Remember that at the end of the day what were talking about is a tool for a job. While more is definitely more, it's not necessarily better. Some people prefer the slimmer grip and concealability of a single stack handgun, and some prefer a wider grip of a double stack. Just because you have more rounds doesn't mean those extra rounds will do anything without proper shot placement. I'd rather have the five shot gun I know I can use the the best of my abilities than the Glock with extended magazines that I won't hit anything with.(these are examples for the sake of comparison, the handgun that suits you does just that, suits YOU)

Now if they had created guns with better accuracy, reliability, quality, features than we can get here for the same money it would make sense. At first glance this appears to be a swing and a miss.
Stainless moving parts are crap. Stop buying stainless guns, they wear twice as fast because stainless doesn't slide against stainless very well, it causes gauling and excessive wear.
The only Foreign 1911 I'll go for would be an Israeli made one, even then that's less likely that I'll buy one. It defeats the Purpose of a Classic by outsourcing it from other Nations. Anyone that goes for that isn't wrong, All Guns are Good Guns, it always depends on the owners.

Chiappa is just funky enough for me to really have an affection for their stuff.
I have the 1911 Field Grade version, and I love it. Very impressive performance, and at a very affordable price tag.
I just bought a Cimarron 1886, which is built by Chiappa. They're really doing some fantastic work right now.

i wish they were doing short barrels for the field and superior. also threaded barrels would be nice, and sight mounts on the higher end ones too.

We have so many companies making 1911 reproductions why can't any of them make a reproduction Luger or a Mauser Broom handle , or a Webley Fosbery.

It's easier to manufacture, but the problem with stainless steel is galling. Stainess steel sliding on stainless steel is a terrible conbination.

9mm is the most common caliber for 2011s, there's quite a few companies that make them. I'm pretty sure ever Rock Island has a double stack in 9mm.
