- Daragan is in a race with Eric Lilliebridge to top Konstantinov's all-time WR @ 275 of 906 lbs / 411 kgs. Daragan pulled the second heaviest deadlift at Battle of Champions 2014, behind only Koklyaev.

"My fingers hurt" -Grandma, happy gillmore...
"Well now your back is gonna hurt, cuz you just pulled landscaping duty!" - Douche Caretaker
It was 403.5 kg = 889 lbs.
PLW lists it as the world record at 275 (although they incorrectly list the weight as 887), although Konstantinovs has done 411 kg = 906 lbs.
Deadlift - Konstantins Konstantinovs 906lb (411kg)
I don't understand how his thumbs are still intact lol
I was holding my breath that was so slow
Double overhand!! Impressive
Looked like a painful lift, crazy strong
thanks for the great channel!
please note that this was a 403.5kg deadlift.
also I believe this is already the All time RAW deadlift record at 125/275. KK did 430 in a IPF meet with a suit at125, his official best raw at 275 is 400kg (still the drug tested record), Probably the 411 you mentioned was done raw in a equipped meet?
I'll check on the weight, although I know Daragan pulled 406 at this comp. This could be a video of an earlier attempt. Regardless, PLWatch has in the past credited such lifts--some of the raw without wraps records were done in wrapped federations.
etwade you seem to have all the footage:), do you have the video of this 411 deadlift?
never mind, i found it zOkiMNxdirs
Hey wade, first of all thanks for the great videos. I was wondering what you think about deadlift bars? Where I live there is only 1 fed and it's IPF, so there's no deadlift bars. Lots of people here dislike them because some people pull so much slack out of them that the lift just starts significantly higher than with a normal bar.
I'd rather see raw pulls on a deadlift bar than equipped pulls on an IPF bar, but it doesn't really matter either way for me. It is only a minimal change to the lift--look at Malanichev, he has pulled over 900 on a stiff bar in equipment, but his best with a deadlift bar raw is 893. So, an equipped pull on an IPF bar is probably easier than a raw pull on a DL bar for most sumo lifters.
etwade Alright, thanks for answering!
This is 403.5 kg

incredible lift, the only other guy I can think of who's pulled overhand like this is Vincent Urbank (906lbs?) them dudes have killer hand strength - as well as the rest!
Holy Shit!! He does that with an overhand grip!! He must be a machine! haha That is awesome
Most likeely he used the hook grip, but it would be very impressive if it is double overhand
Alexis Velazquez overhand grip w/ 895 is impressive whether he used "hook" grip or not. at least to me anyway
He can does the captain of crush 3 13 good reps he really has some grip
joe sarnak Hook grip is significantly stronger than alternate grip. In hook grip your thumbs are beneath your fingers. The effect of which being that you're essentially locked in to the bar.
The massive downside being that its absolute murder on your thumbs. You should not consider this deadlift the same as a double overhand. (Not to detract from the massiveness of it.)
listengaza Well, if its so much stronger than alternate grip, then why do almost all of the biggest pullers use alternate grip?? I know what hook grip is and it is used most by olympic lifters. I stated an opinion only. I said it was impressive to me. I was not trying to start a debate haha you youtube guys should spend more time in the gym instead of youtube
PLW has this as the WR at 275, is that right?
No. Konstantinovs pulled 906@275 in just a belt at the 2005 Latvian Nationals. Daragan did say his next goal was to beat Konstaninov's record, however.
etwade
do you know why that lift isn't listed as the wr at powerliftingwatch?
alpiwiththe bigballs
No idea. PLWatch can get quite behind/confused with their records at times.
