It's always like that: he shakes on the way down and you think it's going to be tough, but then on the way up it looks as easy as most first attempts...
He has a lot of respect for animal so maybe he wanted the singlet to show there name more. It may have been going down and distorting the image. That looks like a classic titen singlet design and the straps go further down then others.
+DJPLER yes, andrey buried his squat deeper. Eric competes at a fed thats bullshit like UPA. USPA is as close as IPF standards in rules and squat depth
have you ever seen a human being lift so efficiently and so smooth, american lifters should take note on how these european lifters train, alot of american guys grind out their squats , all these russians make it look easy and smooth, their neural efficiency is so much higher, thats why they are the best
+thekindman Smarter training. 90% of Americans take max lifts weeks out from a meet which is retarded. My best training cycles were the ones with no grinders. Period. The majority of Russians do not grind or miss reps in training. Everything is smooth and fast.
+Phuck Googele last time I checked the all time raw world record is property of Ray Williams, an American drug tested lifter. The bench press as well, Eric Spoto. Don't make generalizations, it's a combination of genetics, drugs, diet, work ethic and programming. You make it sound like there's only 1 method to achieve one's maximal strength when in reality it's mostly preference and what your body responds to. Being able to grind weights without form breakdown is a skill that shouldn't be ignored, it's good to be conservative at the gym but there's no reason to leave pounds on the table at a competition just to make it look "smooth" and please people like you. If at a meet you can squat 1,000 "smooth" but grind out 1,030, why not go for 1,030? Those 30 pounds might be the difference from 1st and 2nd place. You'll probably never see a grinder from Andrey because he physically can't, he either does it smooth or misses the lift. Some lifters are fast and others are slow, mostly genetic depending on your muscle fiber composition.
I can't stop watching this.
I squatted 135lb last week, might go for the record next week with 136.3lb!
+Jason Newton hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i died
Andrey is the greatest... amazing.
136.2LB!
Yeah, that cracked me up!
Greatest EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know your lifting some big ass weight when the greatest powerlifter of all time is back spotting you!
Malan power!
He doesn't really care about the lift. Immediately looks for Ed Coan. Respect
Shit man, I squatted 225 x 10 reps the other day. And this is only 136.2 pounds? BRB gonna break the world record.
Yeessszzz!!!!
Walked out too. Which from what Ed Coan says makes the lift so much harder.
what is the name of the song???
Everyone talking about Ray Williams being the "only person to squat 1000+ lbs", but I guess they forgot about "Andrey."
even the GOAT Coan is mirin
Correction, "136.2 lbs."
looked so easy for him to get up .. that barspeed
+Felix Fury Not even kidding. He was shaking when getting his ass down but then it looked so easy, holy crap.
It's always like that: he shakes on the way down and you think it's going to be tough, but then on the way up it looks as easy as most first attempts...
And Ed Coan is in there too!!!
What did he total?!!
+MrStrengthfreak over 2400
I''m wondering why he tightened the straps of his singlet
I wondered that too. Perhaps just too loose... But I've never seen that before.
He has a lot of respect for animal so maybe he wanted the singlet to show there name more. It may have been going down and distorting the image. That looks like a classic titen singlet design and the straps go further down then others.
+Ziyed Badreddine Perhaps there wasn't any singlet that suits this giant from the "factory"
Step your game up Eric
Cant compare the two
Eric doesnt walk his squats out
DJPLER But he weighs like 30lbs less too
+DJPLER yes, andrey buried his squat deeper. Eric competes at a fed thats bullshit like UPA. USPA is as close as IPF standards in rules and squat depth
+thekindman but he walks out with the bar.
That guy's voice is so annoying lol
This announcer is worse than that one dude at the Arnold Strongman Classic!!!
Fake competition

It is due to neural efficiency you think?

+Phuck Googele Yeah I think you should go help the Americans with your expertise. It sounds like you know a lot more than them about powerlifting.
Mike McCartney i would if i wasnt so busy helping out olympic lifters with their technique via utube comments
