Let me know down below how you guys make your money in Fm21! - Jake
In game editor - club finances. Seriously though the friendlies trick is good for some pre season transfer budget from the start, just be aware that if you play better teams and lose your teams morale will be shit and take a few games to recover. usually when you load a game the friendlies are already arranged. Find a league with an earlier start date and load it too (I think MLS works well for that but don't quote me) and use that to get in well in advance and arrange the friendlies. You can remove it once the game has started.
one another trick is Adjust Wage/Transfer Budgets. Usually Board approve wage increase rather than transfer increase. let say adjust transfer to max, then next 2/3 months ask the board to increase wage budget, they usually approve. if not wait until next transfer window and ask again. and use persuasion skills in conversation. sometimes if the club have extra money, the board will automatically increase the budget without asking.
Another money saving tip is to remove certain clauses when negotiating contracts. Things like "unused sub fee", "yearly wage increase" and "sell on fee percentage" will save you a lot of money in the long term.
Here is another tip when negotiating a contract, i always remove "unused substitute fee" hence i don't wan't to pay a player extra just for sitting on the bench.
also helps to remove the "Yearly Increase" and the "relegation drop" wage bits too
Favorite
When loaning out players a 'first team' clause is no guarantee of them being played, so I change the playing fee to 50% or lower, and the unused fee to 100%. So either they play him and get him experience and match fitness, or they pay his wages. Either way is fine.
I literally remove every clause except for weekly wage ,and just bump that up slightly
thechinahacks helped me financially when i was broke .Thanks to them i paid off my debts .
I've been new to the game two years ago when I got FM19 so I tried out pretty much everything. One thing which I continue ever since is to show interest via interviews for players I scoured with mostly 4 stars potential if they're above 21 years of age or 4.5/5 star potential for U21 players. So you click the button for showing interest (I don't know if it's called like this in English because I'm playing in German language) and make an offer to the club for like the market value. Then the other club responds and then I only go up a small amount of money and negotiate and then cancel.
Some weeks later some of the players I bid for are going to say that they're unhappy and if you done it twice or thrice some of the players might even want to move to your team, so the other club has to put them on the transfer list. You then can also easier use payment in installments and this whole process saves you a lot of money.
Of course this happens more often when you play clubs with higher reputation or if you play in European cups rather than paying a second tier team.
Thanks for the tips mate im sure people will find this useful! - Jake
@@fmscout you're welcome!
I know this seems like not classy behaviour, making players to want to leave their clubs. But I mean, if we see ways to improve our team in the game we are going to use everything possible in the game aren't we 😅
management is about winning not being nice! - Jake
Im playing with a lower league team with good youth facilities. A good tip is to add a sell on fee when selling young players. In the long run it will make a good profit, either by selling the clause or waiting for the player to be sold.
Another suggestion is when searching for players in a teamview you can sort by release clause amount - this will save some time.
Thanks for good tips!
You can remove Agent fees to pretty much nothing if you are giving a player the contract they want. Just drop it more than half of what it was and lock it. Can be handy if you're buying a superstar and the agent wants millions.
I am playing FM 17 and I just found that. A player was interested in joining the club, and the agent wanted about the same as the transfer fee. I didn't care that much about the player so I gave him a slightly lower contract, and offered the agent next to nothing, and he accepted! I forgot to check my relationship with the agent after that but it's probably not good
@@alliedatheistalliance6776 Why FM '17? Like the players from that generation more? I guess you could mod the database into '22 so you could use the new match engine ETC.
I just happened to be on FM17 at the time, I've got 22 now, but honestly I think my favourite FM so far was 20.
@@alliedatheistalliance6776 Youre a true football fan :)
that spain release tip is insane, is there any other league with the release clause? thanks mate

I know this is off topic but can you please do a video on getting work permit. It’s annoying how
I can’t get permit for my players
We can certainly add it to the list of ideas mate, thanks for the suggestion! - Jake
There's only one thing you can do here: wait for SI to update the editor so you can switch brexit off. Otherwise theres no trick to get around it. Manage outside of the UK if you find it fustrating
Or there's a de-brexit database you can get from steam that someone has created
Good news everyone. SI have updated the editor so you can switch off Brexit!
@@timeandmoney84 you used to be able to sign players and loan them to an eu country, i used to raid Brazils 16 year olds give them a pro contract and loan them to Spanish affiliates to get work permit

@@DanBryanYT are you sure mate.. I used to play it on the PC years ago..
@@DanBryanYT you're right.. Just googled it 😂
another useful thing you can do if you're trying to just stockpile players for value like he mentions with Arezo is to just include in the transfer the clause "loan to selling club". That will basically keep them at the club you bought them from for one or two years after which you can sell them on. This can be handy because sometimes if you sign a player they don't want to go out on loan having just signed, which can be frustrating especially if they don't get a work permit in the UK after Brexit. Loaning them to the team already playing them can help remove that issue. Also be sure to remove sell on fee clauses when you buy them, as they limit your profit!
Best way to make money is signing free agents and then sell or searching in January expiring contracts in 6 months or you can do it 1 year before in june with a director of football (transfer - add as transfer target - end of contract) in this way you avoid a potential battle with other clubs but your director of football will be in charge of giving the player the contract so you are not in control of the finances involved.
DoF stats also need to be high especially Judging player ability, potential and negotiating.
A nice tip is for lower league teams to get a team (in a top league)as a feeder club. With that way you can get loanees for free. Literally you propose to loan the player you want and the feeder team comes back with 0% wage budget to get him loaned.
Thanks for the suggestion! - Jake
@@fmscout Is there a way of knowing if a club is a feeder club?
Howd you get a feeder club? I started as plymouth argyle in English league 1 and only get linked with semi pro teams
@@ashwilliams4959 ask Board
For lower league teams i find playing local sides makes a pretty decent profit. As you're paying them next to nothing to come and play but still getting a decent gate
Bro u should make video about mentoring, some new youngster have light effect on mentoring, usually new young players has significant effect on mentoring
Looking into it! - Rober
I always always take off the wage rise clause in a contract. It costs a few thousand more on the base salary but over the long term, saves money overall coz a few players with that clause on does mount up
I personally don't like instalments as a rule, but sometimes it can be useful I must admit
This is probably too obvious to mention, but in FM17 (not sure about 21) you can occasionally go to higher level clubs and check for unhappy players who want more playing time. If they're good make a really lowball offer, and the club sometimes will give in because they get pressured by the player to leave. It happens to you in game when players start moaning about you not selling them for 50 pence to some other club, so you may as well take advantage of it yourself. I was doing it just to fuck with teams I don't like and accidentally got a 500k valued player for about 1k. Turned out pretty decent too.
Nice move mate! The clubs you're buying from most hate you! - Jake
big one on the the friendlies is yours stadium capacity. don't expect 200k if your stadium is only 10k.
these videos are ok but imo if you wanna learn how to keep afloat/make money/handle finance etc etc then manage the lower leagues! then you go back to your Chelsea, utd, pool etc and see how easy it really is
That kind of goes without saying. And that's good advice. Remember that people are at different levels of the FM ladder, I just gave a kid his very first FM for his bday today! :) -Imagine that.. He has no idea has he :D People need vids with different difficulty, for someone who has played 20+ years not much will be "new". - Rober
@@fmscout the other day I helped my 12 yr nephew on his 1st experience... he couldnt believe he hadnt moved on a day yet had spent an hour playing the game lol... (Fifa kills this game!)
So yes players are at different stages and need this kinda thing... but as an "older guy" there is nothing wrong with "throwin ya sen in at the deep end!"
Good points, but another good way to save some money over a few seasons is dropping the bonus money you give out to players, after a few years that’s a few millions saved and it works.
Started a lower league save, and discovered that some free agent players are easier to get, providing you don't let them have a "signing on fee". doesn't really save money in the short term, but it does mean that it doesn't take out the transfer budget straight from the off
Does the old trick of putting all your transfer budget into your wage budget to accumulate more interest still work?
200 hours and my mind is blown by end of season contracts
I discovered this tip the bad way : waiting a bit too long to sign a new contract to my captain and a relatively promising player, then in january they got offers to go elsewhere, I panickally offered them a new contract that they rejected. 2 players gone for free when i could have gotten a nice bit of money. In the end it made me signe 2 great defenders that were completely worth it and made me go from one of the worst defense in L1 to the actual best but losing a 20 leadership guy is frustrating
Great video. The clause thing was great, never knew this one as I’m still learning the game.
However there’s a couple of sell clauses I was hanging onto to use in case of emergency and they reduced in price, and then disappeared. Will they come back? I liked the security of a nest egg haha
I tried that end of the season contact idea before but after the player signed he was still unhappy for the whole second half of the season cause 'he wanted a new deal'
Time to sell him on! - Jake
idk if it will work if you promised him a new contract immediately, perhaps it's rather intended for players with one year of contract remaining, right Jake?
how about his morale? players can be Unh but have superb morale.
Some extremely handy tips, cheers.
Thanks mate! - Jake
i always sign players u18 once they turn 18 so that i can offer a 5 year deal instead of a 3 year deal its a bit risky but saves money long term
Risk=Reward! - Jake
Off topic ,but does anyone know how to play with the in-game editor whilst in offline mode in steam?
Great tips... I'm managing Malaga at La Liga 2nd... Have over 5 potential star youngsters but with 0 transfer budget. Sell cause might come in handy, even though I'm doubtful that Malaga has that.
Just scout all the players on the international and reserve teams. After check scouted players, filter for contract expiring in….. then have your GM sign all of them (for the sake of saving time). Loan them out, then sell them.
If you’re lower league, getting a senior affiliate can help with getting players on loan for free as well as a yearly lump sum.
I want to explain quick how you can also lift your clubvery quicky.
You sell your players fir imidiate money but you buy in 4 years pay off foe those you buy. Then you are heading to bankruocy in next 3 years but one of yours youngster becomes 80m worth and you sell him fir 100m and you compensate for all money you were spending before...
My first season in Villarreal:
- selling players 30m imidiate money (5-6 no need players)
- buying players 90m in 4 years pay off (about 10 players mostly kids)
I was doing this for years in FM. And one of the reasons is also that at the start of the game your reputation is at level where you in fact cannot buy any player that will add boost in your team. So you buy 10 kids
Best thing that happened with Valencia i litteraly had ALL best players in the world .... i went bancrupt, there came new board with takeover, they had interwiev with me and decided to leave me as manager, and THEY EVEN INJECTED MORE MONEY IN THE CLUB... LOL
What happenes the most is if you start going low in finance you just get message "board injected money to help clubs running cost" and there comes 20m in your finances out of nowhere
Im sure people will find this useful thanks mate! - Jake
Tip #3 really only works with top tier teams. Playing LLM you'll never have the change to land Angel Di Maria on your League 1 team. What about tips on making money with very low league teams!?
We can look into making that vid mate! and true you won't get Di Maria with Sunderland or something lol but maybe you can find some other free agents! - Jake
@@fmscout that is exactly my point. That would be a very useful video indeed. Cheers!
You missed one thing when singing young players. Almost 90% of the time (if player doesn't have a release clause) club will ask for a % of a next sale, or % of a profit of a next sale, and they will make it non-negotiable pretty much every time. That's a big waste of money, weather you are buying player just to sell him later, or to play him yourself. Naturaly you want to avoid this. And to do this, you just need to pay a little bit more upfront in cash when bidding first time, so you don't give them opportunity to add that clause. Usualy, it' not that much, couple of thousand euros, pounds,... It will be worth 100%.
Probably a bit easier to remove and exclude those clauses before you even make the first bid
like Thurnis said, the best way to prevent it is to add that clause to the bid, and then "remove and exclude" , then send the bid
Hi mate, nice vid like always. Thank you!
Thanks a lot man! - Jake
I notice that some players dont have 'offer contract' option when they have less than 6 months. I guess some leagues have restrictions?
possibly or maybe he has signed for a new club already, thats all I can think of from the top of my head! - Jake
what league they in? not guaranteed.... but I think u24 players based in England when you are too can only be approached if the club they are at have not offered a contact of equal value.
@@flik69able Yeah one player I am watching is 23 in England and I cant offer him a contract yet. When will the option become available? When there's 3 months left?
@@saxoross I think it may be 1 month
@@saxoross yeah as mentioned it’s 1 month. There are transfer rules against approaching domestic (especially young) players before end of contract. Quite annoying because a foreign team can snap them up at 6m. On the other hand you can snap up foreign league players at 6m yourself

I get a players on a free (end off contract) and end up selling them for £30m plus. I made £200 m on free players and in total I payed out £4m in wages!! I do that every year

This is a bit of a strange comment I must say, the dude is obviously trying to help out people who just don't know what they're doing on FM. He doesn't exactly get hundreds of pounds or whatever currency per video so isn't being paid much if anything to do this, so why complain? Why not just skip the video if you don't want to watch it? I have another method to earn money. I manage Man Utd and if a regen is in the u23 or u19 team and he has lets say 750k euros value and has good stats, I promote him, play him 1 season in league cup, FA Cup, and poor matches, he becomes at the end of the season a player with the value of 25 million euros and I put him on sale and I earn lets say 15 million euros. If I do that every season with 2 players I earn 30 million euros to invest in superstars and sometimes if I play them and they explode, I dont sell them and they become first team regulars.

If FM and the work permit ballache that is managing in the UK is accurate, the Premiership will decline massively in quality, clubs in Europe could literally strong arm millions onto a deal, knowing that UK clubs either have to pay over the top prices, or go try find another player of that quality who will get a work permit
