I put a new pioneer head unit I to it tonight took all of about 15 mins start to finish very simple and your video helped alot I think I'd still be fighting it if you didn't mention the first 2 screws under the center console . Much appreciated thank you
I have a 2002 crv do you know if our same connections are the same because my radio does look different to yours, and if they are different would that mean I would need a different radio as well ?Thanks in advance !
I think I'm going to have to do this myself because Halfords in Bristol are fucking useless. You have to book a day off work (because they don't work weekends) three weeks in advance after you've paid the full amount in advance. Not going back there again.
I tried to change the radio, was a success until the new one doesn’t work and the original one either! I checked fuse and are alright,l do you have an idea about what is wrong ? And also since I changed it I can’t lock and unlock the door with the key unless to do it manually...
Thanks...i have an after market newer radio. it came loose so i need to locate the side tabs to install the unit more securely. bought the vehicle used.
My 2006 CR-V EX has a different looking original radio, there’s no little shelf on the bottom, it’s buttons instead, I wonder if this type of aftermarket would still work. Anyone know?
I just followed your video and installed an alpine CDE-W235BT Head Unit but the volume controls on the steering wheel don't work now, any ideas how to correct this? Thanks
Yes you will need to give your local car audio retailer your reg number so they can id the correct steering control interface for your car. These are needed on all vehicles with audio controls on or around the steering wheel.
Unfortunately the Sony I just bought has recessed holes and the lugs that stick out of the Honda cage dont align and push the cage away from the stereo. Will have to have the lugs machined off and get longer M8 bolts.
Great info, easy until I tried screwing my aftermarket onto the bracket. I have holes that just about line up but there is no thread on the indented aftermarket holes and hence does not screw in. Ideas?
Hi there, I have a very similar CRV. I'm looking to buy the Pioneer DMH-A240BT ( which you have reviewed). If I buy this alongside the adapter you mention, should it plug in and play? Will the steering wheel controls still operate too? Kind regards, Ben
You will need a steering control interface, due to variations it’s best to give your reg number to a place like Halfords so they can look up the correct part number👍🏻
This is something that concerns me too. Great instruction video, but this is an important consideration. Have you now disabled the alarm system now permanently and does the security code no longer become an issue?
Great video and informative on how to actually remove the radio and what wiring adaptions were required. My Honda cd radio is knackered controls are intermittent and losing channel so tried to fit a Sony after my mate gave me a cd radio he had spare. This one is obviously more modern than my 2004 Honda's as it has a USB port. After that it all is a little vague. I couldn't use the brackets on my Sony CD Radio there was no hole alignment and the two centering pins on the Honda brackets prevented any form of connection so had to scrap the whole project. I noticed there was no video of you attaching the brackets to your chosen stereo replacement how did yours connect so neatly?. Also the plastic shelf did not fit so flush even if the brackets had worked. So viewers beware it's not as straight forward as it looks.
I had the exact experience, tried to install sony but there were no screw holes on the side. That is making me hunt for JVC like the one in the video but there are no pics of the sides on internet for any of them I looked so far. If someone has some model installed with bluetooth enabled out of the box with just the cable mentioned in the video, please let me know.

@@kevinwebb8460 thanks I have dropped the idea of putting a new stereo in. Instead got myself a decent Bluetooth speakers and now I directly connected to it. Pioneer new range hits the shops in the next couple of weeks or if your in a rush Pioneer 160 is well priced with a decent spec. Check the review video I did a while back.
hi, how are you? can you tell me the exactly model of your radio please, i want to buy the same... and why you put that cable adapter? you could connect the radio directly or not?
The radio does not plug directly in so you will need the cable adapter. This is the radio being fitted - eu.jvc.com/mobile-entertainment/audio-receivers/KD-X252/
You should be able to use the original radios side brackets to mount the new aftermarket one. All aftermarket radios come with lots of holes down each side so that you can line up the original brackets for a flush fit.
Hi, great video, could you tell me please, if I was to purchase a double din, do I need to buy a fascia kit or can I use the original plates from my radio just without the lower tray. Cheers
Thanks buddy realy easy to follow vid ,I have learning difficulties, 👍 and you made my day now have crv with banging tunes 😀 👌 have good day sir 🙏💙💙
I replaced a radio with a stereo screen on a 2003 Honda crv ex sport but now the car lock and unlock for the key doesn't work
I have this radio and I don't understand why it has a aux button but no aux input .
If you mean the original radio try checking for an aux in either the glovebox or the centre arm rest area.

Can you recommend any cheap stereos with Bluetooth that will fit and or double din with screen that fits as easily ?? Thanks a lot!

The PC2-68-4 adapter only makes the aftermarket radio work, you still need the additional adapter for the steering wheel commands, am I right?

Are all radios the same size ?
Any recommendations please I tried to fit Sony dsx a410bt and it doesn't fit in the cage. I need a Bluetooth supported stereo thanks
Don't make the mistake of thinking these are Philips screws. They are actually JIS which is slightly different.

I have a 2002 HRV which I've heard can accept a double din radio. Is this true?
When you remove the stereo, will the vehicle still start without one? Or is anti theft linked only to the radio? I have a 2004 crv
Will still start in UK models, no idea for rest of world or imports I’m afraid
Would this work for 2000 Honda CR-V?
Is the connection standard on all stereo
Yes all aftermarket radios have what is called a standard iso connection.
