- A cringy game of Diamond League StarCraft 2. In this match between CmdrJay and AmarthDagnir we see the Terran player focus on lots of different kinds of cheese. While it starts with a Bunker Rush we quickly realise that it won't win him the game so he transitions towards something even more cheeky.

I may not know much about multiplayer Starcraft since I'm nervous about jumping into the PvP scene, but that comment is pretty rich coming from someone who looked like they weren't able to follow up after their cheese strategy was dealt with and countered. The Zerg Player, despite being a bit slow initially, caught up and was expanding to more resource sites and had a somewhat sized army composition, while the Terran had 30+ workers on one mineral patch and wasn't expanding at all apart from later in the game.
Try it, the multiplayer is a lot less scary than you think
I played the campaigns only for years and the only times I jumped into a multiplayer game I got called an smurf with less than 300 games in plat

@@menelik6652 I'm still getting to grips with stuff since I bought the full game at Christmas Time and had mostly been playing the Co-Op mode. I'm mostly scared because of how fast people are able to amass their stuff, all the micro and how fast people can assign control groups and all sorts of that stuff. At most, I can do the basics haha.

Though seriously, I love these lower tier games. Watching perfect players play perfectly gets repetitive after a while. Games like these help put things in perspective and shake things up a bit.
It's also interesting to hear Lowko suggestions about a situation. Pro Gamers do it naturally, but it's not that obvious when you don't know what you are doing.

I love switching between lower-tier and pro games. That to me really highlights how good the pro-players are.

6:44 the decision to not bile down SCVs is actually a 300 IQ move: those barracks and SCVs serve no purpose at this point of a game, and by not destroying SCVs Amarth actually forces terrain to spend minerals on repair. Outstanding move!

8:45 okay noobies this is how you avoid that what Lowko was talking about *Step1* drag click over all your units *Step2* select the hurt unit in Unit Tab *Step3* micro that unit back or out of spore queen range. *Advanced Mode* just click on the hurt unit pull back advanced mode is more difficult in *Mass Amounts* you’re welcome diamond below

as a diamond zerg player that lacks builds and hovers around 150-170 apm... i know exactly what's happening, neither of them have a solid followup after cheese, which is why you don't see any scouting or unit compositions that make sense or even strategic decisions that make sense...

This game brought to mind the Number[Jay] memes from waaaaaaaay back. Man I love Starcraft.
I think people forget games like this are exceptions, not the rule. The reason why this looks like lower rankings is this is most likely something they don't see as much. A game like this is usually every couple hundred games, so people forget how normal diamond league games go. Everyone has games like this, just the higher you go the less often it happens.
I think the skill range in Diamond is the greatest in the game. The upper limit in EU is around 4440 MMR and the floor is 3280. That is such a huge difference within one league. So I'm not surprised that these guys are in low diamond.
AmarthDragnir is Sindarin (an Elvish language from Tolkien's Middle-Earth) - from "amarth" = "fate/doom" and "dragnir" = "slayer" - and translates to *"DoomSlayer"*

Lowko, you should do a call in show segment of your stream, and talk over Skype with one or both of the players in these games. "so how does it feel, when I get mad about the lack of orbital commands?" "Jay, would you like to apologize to Amarth and all of my viewers for being bad mannered?" I guess it could get weird or lame, but it could be really funny!
Lowko, think about it. Him biling the bunkers but not the SCVs is kinda smart. Terran has his works set to auto repair thus wasting minerals on those bunkers, 100s of minerals being used to repair bunkers that aren't even useful anymore.

I like how you summarize that in a star craft game, the skill set is usually splited into (4 or more) categories. And often, Diamond/Gold league players pick up a few skill sets, but not all of them. That explains why "CmdrJay" was micro-ing, but bad on expand or even on saturating the mineral and gas. Too often, we watch the pro league and forget that even in the pro league, there is a big gap between pro tier A and pro tier B... we really have to tone down the expectation for Diamond/Gold league replay. Great cast.... I am hoping for more. Maybe the master league? I will lower my expectation; I know they are not PROs. :)

As a, no hubris no pride, gold level player I appreciate This analysis. It’s funny because watching the SUPER embarrassing things...I know I’ve done far, FAR worse. Again as a gold player I really appreciate this. I feel like even I can make diamond.

I think the main problem of every players we see in the viewers' games is they aren't able to perform two actions at the same time like pros can. They can only micro their armies or their harass or macro their production and income. It's cool to see pros performing something like 3 things at the same time but not everyone can do that.

This is his 6th match this season. 4 out of 5 placement matches ended by the game crashing for the opponent. Reminds me of one strange match I had. TvT. The opponent got a major advantage early on and contained me. Instead of finishing the game, he decided to go for the memes. He maxed out on BCs. He even served me all his SCVs and other units near the end so it was literally 33 battlecruisers. He warped them in the middle of my base and then his PC crashed so I won ^^ Remember guys, if you're going for 33 battlecruisers, make sure your PC can handle it.

We're all playing StarCraft 2 with keyboards. Amarth is playing StarCraft 64 with a joystick.
Everytime Lowko casts a game with the Zen map. "this map is quite hard because of the two openings to the natural."

Its entirely possible that Diamond skill level has gone down significantly since I was in Diamond, but I remember Diamond players being capable of at least executing some semblance of a game plan and build order. Though often times players will be decent at standard games and be really bad at holding off cheese, or sort of know how to manage one cheese for each matchup but not know how to transition out of it in the case that it fails.
This is sort of why I prefer to play more than one game against the same person, so you can learn their play style and work some better mind games. On ladder unless you're at a very high level you rarely play the same person twice, so you can just know one cheese for each matchup and get to a high rank.

The best way to explain the "I'm gold and I'm better than that" is the phrase: hindsight is 20/20. Easy to analyze the game with no fog of war, and not having to spend brainpower playing
Jay cheeses and expects his cheeses to carry him to victory everytime. That's why in this game, he insulted to try to discourage Amarth. But a very very well played game by Amarth however. Macro prevailed in the end. Jay's cheese is his sole out to victory, but I can guess he sucks at the rest of the SC2.

I look at these and what I think isn't bad play (no need to point out the obvious) but I see a game in 1 am in the morning.Your brain's not quite there yet,reactions are a little bit slow but you try to do it.But when the cheese grinder goes blunt,the primal anger gets the better of you and your slowed down reactions become bad and then you explode.
This looks like a typical case of someone who just cheesed their way through leagues while not knowing how to macro.
1 base mining for 10 minute was painful to watch :(
Even if the Terran lost, he taught me a good way to architect a bunker rush on this map to deny that second hatch. His mistake I think is sending 4 scv. That's too much if he sent 4 scv better then to just 4 proxy rax then all in scv pull. If not, then send 3 scv then plug the small path with barracks not a depot and then same 2 rax upstairs.

Me : who plays StarCraft 2 in classes while continuosly having fear of someOne showing up behind me at the same time I have good hearing so even when someone who is walking far away can be heard gives me the chills. Also at my location there is a storm nowadays so internet sometimes (worst times) goes down

I have not play 7 years, I recently played few games and I was assigned in Gold, so I think to get to the diamond it isn't too. Most of time I lost because I had no idea where are the buildings/upgrades/units that I wanted :P
