  • A Walk in the Wild of Nagles Mts
    Ah Yes,
    Come walk with me
In the wilds of the Nagles
    Down the narrow pathways
Or along the wide forest trails.
    Follow me to that
    Lonely mountain top,
    Over the rough stones
    And sodden tracks,
    Till you have reached
    That little known summit,
    Called Knocknaskagh.
    Then say a few prayers
    And join the devotions,
    At that hidden Massrock,
    Off the Glenville, Fermoy road.
    And finally,
    Walk that brief journey
    Up the holy Corrin Hill,
And learn of Grand Cross there,
And the story of its building......
    Recommendations for Walking.
    Have strong shoes.
There are few signs so remember where you go.
Avoid areas where forest work is going on.
It should take about 45 minutes to walk
from the road to the summit of the mountain.
    Notes
On a clear day there are spectacular views
of the Galtees and Knockmealdowns Mts.
The Mass Rock is just left off the Glenville to Fermoy road,
keep a look out for the sign.
Near the feast of the Assumption,
there is a largish gathering here.
Finally the tall cross of Corrin Hill, 30 foot high,
was erected in 1933 to remember the death of Christ 1900 years ago.
There are many stories about Corrin.
