It's been 20 years since I lived in Kinsale ( 2001-04 ) and worked as the bartender at An Seanachai ( traditional Irish bar, unfortunatelly for years for sale ). This was the best time of my life. The people, friends, sounds, stories and love that never happens again. Since than I dream of coming back again. At least for one day. To see old places where we spent our evenings, kissed girls, listened to An Seanachai, played football, saved the boat from sinking, saved the bar from the flood, experienced 9/11 while washing dishes at Jim Edwards, saw the sacrifice Kinsale has made to 9/11 at the White house, helped the divers at the Lusitania wreck, sang songs at Tap Tavern, saved ourselves from the world that keeps on running. It's beeen good old times. These days will never be forgotten and I hope that some day I'll have a chance to return.
I do love living here, lived here in the 80s for a short time.Promised myself to return from Dublin before I was 50.Back 20 years now.The most special part of Kinsale, are the people.Just amazing.🌹
Well, that was just the most lovely half hour spent. Walter, you are a joy to listen to. You clearly have a passion for what you do. I'll be in Kinsale for just a few hours in a few months, but now I want to come for much longer another time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love.
Lived in Kinsale as a child ,,holds such special memories ,, the Greyhound bar ,and Peter Barry are important to mention he did so much to make the town what its is on the tourists map 😊 love Kinsale so much ❤
My husband and I are from the USA and are planning a trip to Ireland. Your video of Kinsale was beautiful. We just loved your spirit and passion for the history of Kinsale. So much so that based on this video we will now be making it a stop for a night or 2 while in Ireland. Thank you for this video. We would love to pay you for a personal tour of Kinsale. Not sure if you do such a thing but we would absolutely love to.
I was in Kinsale in 2018 with my family and we took the ghost tour which was fantastic! The tour actually began at the Tap Tavern where we had a few pints before it began. And who was behind the counter serving my pints?? None other than Mary Tap!! I didn't know anything about her until watching this video!
I think this is the best video I’m ever seen of Kinsale and I thought I knew most about it, but I was wrong. I just spent 5 weeks in Kinsale and I used to go every summer until the pandemic hit. I stay across from the Spaniard and have a 10 minute walk into town. The Garden of Remembrance makes me cry too and I’ve been there twice. I now have friends there and hope they will visit me in my home in Florida. I’m going back next summer 2024. Thank you so much for such a wonderful tour of Kinsale where I leave a piece of my heart.
Beautiful video Walter born and bred in Cork its always a joy to drive or cycle to Kinsale. That garden of remembrance deserves a lot more attention. What a tribute to the heroes of 911 and most people in Cork City don't even know it exists. Have great memories as a child going down to St Multose to view the vaults have some Bullen ancestors. Well done on a very professional presentation highlighting one of Irelands greatest jewels
I have been to Kinsale 3 times and been to the Tap Tavern the scenery is totaly amazing the Irish are so friendly wish i had my health to visit there again. But i have so many beautiful memories that can never be taken from me.....To everyone out there go and visit Kinsale you wont be dissapointed hire a car and enjoy....
Wow! What a precious village.thank u for the walk about!!! It was wonderful Walter!!!! Beautiful beyond my imagination!!!! Hopefully someday I will get there, with God's blessings!!!! I loved ur energy that u have for ur city!!! It's contagious!!!! In a very wonderful way!!! Connie Jean eckert......from Junction City Kansas !!!!!
i am planning an extended trip to ireland from the u.s next year. i already had kinsale on my “must see” list, but this video literally just convinced me to stay more than one night. thanks so much!
Thank you for this. My husband and I are visiting in August. It's hard to decide where to visit when you're visiting Ireland for the first time. I imagine Maeve Binchy would have loved this town.
I love Kinsale and thought I knew everything but you introduced me to alot I didn't know! There are so many artists and painters that really need exposure! The vibrant and strong art created in West Cork is phenomenal as compared to where I live. I took this energy for granted. Perhaps you could include a snippet in your next stop as there is art all over West Cork and Kerry
Absolutely love your RUclips video! Fantastic job of making your video and I’ve watched hundreds of videos on Ireland. Yours is now at the top of my list and I forward it to everyone. Thank you so very much!! -Sue
in the late 90s, on my first trip to Ireland we spent just 1 1/2 days in Kinsale....wish now I know more of the lovely town, would have stayed a week. As someone who worked in Manhattan on 9/11, the Remembrance Garden is especially moving...thanks for the video
Thank you so much Deirdre, Our first official comment on our new youtube channel, We had so much fun making it, the people of Kinsale are really lovely and some amazing characters! Feel free to subscribe to see when we have episode 2 on another small town somewhere in Ireland! I can't give away where it is as its a huge secret, but as a small hint, it rhymes with... Tillmarney Cough Cough!
