  • Dromahane (Near Mallow)
Lamenting how the virus took away its merry atmosphere...
    Come back to us Dromahane.
Too often in these virus days,
    Have we dwelt at home,
    Like frightened rabbits.
Too long it is, since we conversed with friends,
    - Met on the road, in Corkery's Bar, and outside the church.
For long with children we have dwelt,
    Shepherding them, entertaining them,
With jigsaws and toys so recently bought.
Let us no longer work from home,
And may our children once more,
    Jump, shout and play happily
    With their old school pals.
Oh yes, it's too long since we laughed in Corkery's Bar,
    imbibed a few “mediums” there,
And heard of the open air dancing
    In Laharn Cross.
Yes real Dromahane, come back to us,
And after a couple of pints,
    I will sing for you!
    - And we will return to the time,
    When our friends passed away,
    And we filled the church,
And gave a full heart to them
    Packed together, without distancing.
    Oh Dromahane,
    Come alive again,
So we can chat once more
    - Outside our church,
    - Outside the school gates,
    - And have that big gathering
With our friends on a Saturday,
    In Corkery's Bar....

    Hi Tony,
I noticed there is a guitar in the Corkerys hanging on the wall - just in case I ever get down there. And some good singers as well.
