I’m mixed on this. On one end, having things to work towards is pretty cool. But on the other, it makes family game night difficult because we don’t usually do the other modes, at least not yet. So I’ve got to actively grind the other boards in my free time.
An easy way to get the achievements after just playing each game mode once is to play all the koopathalon minigames in minigame free play to get a bunch of achievements specific to those minigames (there are quite a few)
The single player thing in the party plaza (kamek) is a easy way how to get achievements too, it’s pretty much just mini game bay but you with a semi story

MARIO PARTY needs to have a turbo mode or sum, no way is the shortest game to play is 90minutes! IM HOPING they update and make the animations skippable and turns to have timers or sum, the pacing is sooooo slow 😪 but this game is too good
well, ive played it single player, and you can set it so it moves faster on the cpu turn. it makes a 10 turn game 1 hr 15 90 min and so on and so forth

This is a list of ALL mainline mario party games board count: MP1 - 8, MP2 - 6, MP3 - 6, MP4 - 6, MP5 - 7, MP6 - 6, MP7 - 6, MP8 - 6, MP9 - 7, MP10 - 5, SMP - 4, MPS - 5 Mario Party in 1998 is an outlier, we've usually on average had 6 maps per game, it's been 12 years since we've had more than 5 boards and these are arguably some of the best boards since Mario Party 6 in 2004 so i'm not entirely sure what your comment is referring to, the games were also easier to make back then because the environments were a 2D PNG with 3D characters walking over a literal picture - this is the first time in well over a decade that they've put effort into the series, can't please everyone I guess, always more more more!

Unlock stuff in a party game is so stupid. You take the game to a friend to play mario party in a group and then oh. Everything is locked. "1 to switch" had the same issue with only having 7 games until you play 21 times or so. Same for the Animal Crossing game. Just let us play everything and keep unlocking to characters or skins and not to the overall experience.

Yeah I always hated "battle passes" forcing me to play the game a certain way to unlock goodies (and within a certain time frame). Makes me feel like I HAVE to play every day or I'm missing out, only for me to get burned out really quick because it's become a chore instead of a game. If I want battle passes I'll play any of the hundreds of other live service games out there that, by the way, use this model to influence people to spend more (that's the whole point of them anyway).

I don't get why they won't make DLC for Mario party games. I would absolutely buy more characters (like Diddy Kong, etc) and more boards.
The most disappointing things about hearing this is that there really is no extra boards 😢
