The key to a perfect Mario Party game is customization. Allow players to create the most busted rules or the most balanced or skill based rules. Almost how everyone has their own way of playing Uno.
the stealing an ally mechanic is stupid because you're telling me i just tryharded a minigame for 3 full minutes and im not even guaranteed to keep it for the 3 turns they're there? i feel like if you're gonna have that long of a minigame and the ally isn't even there for long just let the winner keep it
I think the stealing ally mechanic should be an option before the game starts. If you want the ability for people to pass and steal the ally, that’s fine. Or you can turn that off, and have the winner get them for all three turns. It’s a simple fix they can slide into an update.
I completely love this way. It made me and some friends really pissed at each other 😂 but thanks to that I was able to go from 4th to 1st in the last round.
I never found it particularly unfair. In my playthroughs with couch co-op we found that deciding who lands on the ally and who gets it and how everyone is spaced becomes a part of the strategy
Boss minigames rarely show up randomly and aren’t in voting. Also, pro rules need more turn options-12 is awkward, too long for quick games, too short for long ones!
Yeah, why pro mode has 12 turns only is beyond me. the turn limit was never the issue in Mario Party (heck a lot of veterans like me think the hard limit of 30 turns is too short for games you really want to go all out. Nothing was wrong with choosing to do the full 50 sometimes). Just make pro mode a set of options for the base game honestly. I think other Mario parties let you disable the more luck based minigames entirely, and while none of them let you choose the bonus stars, having them pre-emptively visible should've been a third option or the default really. Mario party 1-4 ALl had the same bonus stars every game, so you could play around it. 5 swapped the coin star out cause it was too similar to the minigame star for the capsule star (which worked in that game) and 6 and on made them random.
Pacing needs improvement, too many unskippable dialogues and cut scenes. If we can skip mini game tutorials we should be able to toggle off repeated dialogue. Ally should have a toggle as well. Customization can fix this game. Same with economy. Let me play a cheap or expensive game if I want. We need more mini games as well. All the mini games could be converted to board play and imported from super stars. With customization we could remove them if we wanted to. Easy fix
Totally agree, the pacing is way to slow, even compared to other mario parties, way to much unskippable repeates dialog. Custom mario party would be awesome
Most minigames from superstars would work perfectly in jamboree with only small tweeks, lets hope its a dlc pack oe something. This game would be so great with more boards and minigames
@@TheErlend87 its funny to see different opinion about the pacing Since the camera is more dynamic and stuff I dont feel it so bad that the pacing is bad being a bit slower than superstars. For me it doesnt feel slower or so cause I have fun watching the character moving with the dynamic camera they added. It always feels "fast" for me somehow. Sure, if they had the static camera like in the old mario party it would feel slower (for me) but here its fine but ofc.. having the extra option is always the best they can have! The more option you have as a player the better a game is.
As someone who plays Local Multiplayer a lot, I feel like I really resonate with the first Ugly point as well. It feels as though Nintendo is slowly letting Local Multiplayer die out in favour of Online, and a perfect example of this is Bowser's Kaboom Squad: Nintendo: Here's an 8 player Co-op with minigame breaks! Me: Oh so it's like River Survival, cool! Nintendo: But it's online only. Me: what Nintendo: Also you can only play the minigames singleplayer for Minigame Bay Me: WHAT

i dream of the day we get a smash bros-level of customization for the rules. individually turning off/on certain minigames and bonus stars, customizable coin economy, tweaking allies, motion control minigames having a control stick option, ect. the potential for variety and new ways to play could be amazing
The motion control minigames wouldn't be so bad if they had pro controller support you shouldn't be forced to play with a single joycon to access everything
Some of them would be very difficult with pro. Actually almost all of them. I know not everyone is like me but I found the morion stuff some of the best parts of the game. My and my friends had a ton of fun with rhythm kitchen and especially (weirdly) toads item shop
I think the tilting motion minigame ones would work with the pro controller, like the Golf one, Arch rivals, the Rosalina minigame, roll with it (item minigame), heck I think even the Hammer it home can work too, Tiny Triathlon would need work for Bicycle section for the pro controller, probably should just be like a rotation stick. Like there has to be a workaround on the motion minigames to be able to use the Pro Controller with. If this really is because of the Switch lite, then it's literally holding the game back.
Chance time is far from the best thing about mario party. Dominating an entire game just to swap coins and stars with someone who isn't even close to winning on the second to last turn of the game definitely shouldn't be a mechanic that's present in pro rules
I believe the boss minigames have a small chance of being picked randomly as a general end of turn minigame. I do not think they show up in the voting. Also I think my hot take is that pro rules should have a variety of turn options. 12 is weird because it feels like too much if you want to play a short party, but it feels like too little if you want to play a longer party
Depends on the board. Part of this has to do with some events lasting too long, the length of ally minigames. Wish characters moved quicker or if you’re playing with CPU’s you could just speed through characters.
@@a18yearoldonyoutubeluigi yeah the mall is by far the worst. Every two spaces it’s an escalator a stamp a stamp station some kind of store … such a cool concept for a board brought down by that stupidity. Cloud land actually plays very quickly
@@joelsytairo6338 Rainbow Gallaria is the best board actually. If anything it’s better with real people than CPU’s. I’d argue this was the biggest issue on Goomba Lagoon from what I’ve experienced so far. Also get the names of the boards right, what is Cloud Land?
@@a18yearoldonyoutubeluigi lol I don’t have the names of the boards memorized. Rainbow galleria (the mall one) is probably the heaviest when it comes to interactables. Warios poo poo cloud haven is the most minimal
Nintendo should acknowledge that the main selling point is the Party Mode, we are okay with the boards, but my only recommendation is to put more minigames in the main mode. I know Superstar is a compilation of the best 100 minigames throughout the series and it did serve. I still think party mode in Superstar is superior than Jamboree as no minigame take place of a random side mode
The ally stealing should be when you land on the same spot as the player with the ally and then you should be able to choose to steal it and fight for it or the classic fight for money when you land on the same spot as another player
Stealing the ally is the best option they can get to make it more balanced! I think a good option would be an item you had to buy (lets call it: Chain Chomps Chains or something like that) If you have the item and pass someone with an ally, you can steal him/her, if not.. then not.
It honestly just added more strategy to the game for me and the people I played with. When you get the ally, who gets the ally, where you are on the board. It’s more you have to take into account
@@joelsytairo6338 what strategy? the players aren't in control of anything besides the direction they choose to go on the board, and sometimes not even that
@@big_tiddie_squad6379 who lands on the buddy, where you are in relation to other players, how you can use your items to steal the buddy and prevent it from being used, when to use the buddy if you have it if you feel at may be stolen. Use of special dice and items as well as which path you take (especially in boards like bowsers keep) can give you a lot of agency (by Mario party standards). There’s really a lot to it if you think about. There’s a risk element and that combined with the limited turn count makes it more interesting TO ME than just “win mini game=get overpowered ability”. We can agree to disagree on that. It’s just my experience with my playthroughs it feels best how it is. maybe it could be improved by some sort of one v one mini game to capture the buddy BUT I feel like that would just add a longer wait time for the players who are not fighting for it in a game with already somewhat bloated turn times
Tbh I don't really agree with you on the Chance Time. You can't tell me when the third block is spinning that fast that it is skill-based. Pro Rules are meant to make the game more skill-based and Chance Time is just a random exchanging of coins or stars. You can end someone's game just because you happened to randomly hit the last block and take a star from them or even switch star count's with them. Also, I'd love a ranking of all the minigames.
THEN they should remove Boo from Pro Rules Game, cause stealing a star is no pro move... yesterday, we played a pro rules round on the wigglers map... Spike (COM) got 1st star with a star field, 2nd with duel, 3rd with boo and 4th with another star field... AND HE WON, cause of the boo. Ninji was like the whole round with 3 stars first place, and this boo changed everything. HE EVEN got the bonus star, and didn't win.
@@deadyui8199 landing on a boo spot takes way more skilled than a chance time first off it cost way too steal a star them getting it normally which means you’ve been winning most of your mini games which takes skill
Well ngl yes the third block IS pretty fast to time. The second and ESPECIALLY the first one are WAYYY too easy to time. So I’d argue chance time IS a skillful space as I have timed it many times before. So yes while it IS what I’d consider a “skillful space” I also do think that removing it from pro rules is for the better because stars and coins can move around wayyy too easily. Making the past game meaningless in some cases.
One thing I didn’t hear you talk about is that this game takes a long time, especially compared to superstars. The animations are kinda drawn out. Love your content!!! 🫶🏼
I disagree on the Ally stealing mechanic- with how some people are, how they can sweep every Minigame in a single game, to have them win an Ally and just keep it forever would suck. And honestly, you can just try and strategize around the mechanic to either keep it or steal it with good items or letting someone else you know you can beat take the advantage, since I have won Ally Minigames even when my brother got the advantage. I can agree it’s not a perfect system- the best option I saw was suggested that you have to pay to steal the Ally while you pass. But I think the Allies need to be able to be stolen, if only because again, if you have that one player in the group that will win every Ally game you play, then you’re just handing those players ALL the free wins. Also, nah, man, I hate Chance Time with a burning passion. Usually I play with my brother so anytime Chance Time comes up, I’m just worried if I’ll get screwed over from a win that I’ve been working hard to get. Like, it can be funny when there’s nothing to lose, but it sucks majorly when I have everything to lose.
Also to note. I am nearly perfect at most of these games(same with my sister) if one of us get the advantage thats usually the persom that wins Rosalina is almost impossible to lose with advantage if you play perfectly Peach is the same case. Since that gold box is usually killer Mario is also the same Bowser jrs is HUGE Donkey kongs is easy by itself. Advantage just makes it a cakewalk And then the rest can be beaten without advantage. Not having the ability to steal would suck. Also me and my sister BOTH hate chance. Because ileven if i myself land on it. I CAN STILL get screwed over
9:38 it should be an item, like an "Ally Rope" or "Ally Laso" that only last place gets, and gets automatically used upon passing a player who has the ally and steals it
11:11 Boss battles are in main mario party mode but they can only appear when stepping on vs space. So you have to step on vs space and even then other minigames besides boss battles can still be picked instead so relatively low chance of them appearing but theyre still there.
Playing mainly the Mario Party mode without gimmicky motion controls the games lack of mini games is pretty noticeable. Like you said, most of the games seem to be reserved for side modes.
@@pikminologueraisin2139 to me the mini games have enough depth that they are infinitely replayable. They are all arcade style mini games designed around a high score. I have been playing kaboom squad and koopathalon for days and genuinely haven’t gotten bored. Koopathalon is almost like the Tetris 99 effect where you can take a very simple score based game and put it in an online context and it becomes highly repayable. The context also adds a lot of value as random item shenanigans are constantly mixing up how you play. Rhythm kitchen is also a score based multiplayer game that makes it super fun and replayable with a group especially as you learn the songs and get better. Toads item factory does unfortunately feel very short for what it is. It was incredibly fun but we finished the thirty levels fairly quickly and it was kind of sad. Kaboom squad mini games have high replayability due to the co-operation and coordination aspects and how they translate to the kaboom sections.
I don't have Jamboree but here are my thoughts based on what I see from others' gameplay: I really like how each board looks super unique and feels like they returned to form there. The minigames you do play in Party Mode also look super fun and those ally minigames look fun as hell. I completely agree with your point on converting the rhythm and koopathalon minigames to regular Party Mode minigames. I feel like since ND cube took over developing Mario Party, these side modes seem forced and take away from the main game. I really wish ND Cube just focuses on the main party mode and only has side modes within the minigame mode like in the older games (maybe like one larger side mode like a single player story mode). We need more GameCube era or/capsules that cause carnage on other players (hexes brought back from DS are nice but we need more of those types of items). One of my biggest pet peeves I have with Jamboree is when you buy an item, why does it hover over the player for like 4 seconds before the character takes it. The surplus of pointless animations while cool to look at the first few playthroughs get stale fast and this does contribute to the slow pace. But DLC is almost mandatory at this point to add more content. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's booster course pass but for Mario Party boards, characters, items and minigames? Thar would be awesome!
The most annoying thing about it is the Bowser space. It seems to be the first player who gets a star will end up eventually landing on a Bowser space and lose the star. No other options, but losing a star and if you have an ally character with you, it’s a double whammy and you lose 2 stars or half your coins if not all if you only had one star for Bowser to take. Another thing that I find annoying is the 3 coin bonus in the Koopathlon. If you’re in the top 5 it seems to be the main bonus that you’ll find yourself getting 9 times out of 10. Seriously, no matter when you hit the flashing bonuses and it looks like you’ll get something different and you time it differently it’s will automatically end up being the 3 coin bonus which is practically useless.
I think the items in Koopathlon work similiar like they do in mario kart. The better place youre at the worse items youre getting while at worse place you tend to get better items for chance to catch up.
Kinda surprised you didn't mention the Lucky Spaces at all, regarding the economy. I feel like they just hurt the game and there are way too many of them on some boards. The fact that they can give you a ton of coins and items for doing practically nothing really irks me
0:14 Well yeah... Almost every game has flaws somewhere. Hardly any game is objectively perfect. Honestly though, Super Mario Party Jamboree might still be the best in the series or at least an S Tier Mario Party. 6's Party Mode may have been better due to it's Strategy. 5 and DS definitely had better Story Modes. But Super Mario Party Jamboree still has a fantastic party mode plus a good plethora of side modes that are mainly designed for Multiplayer but are also playable as a Single Player. Koopathlon and Bowser's Kaboom Squad were pretty fun from my experience. Rhythm Kitchen was fine. I haven't played much of Toad's Item Factory to speak about my enjoyment of it and I was just completely unable to play Paratroopa Flight School. That might be due to my Switch not being connected to the TV. Being able to play Boss Minigames in the Party Mode is really cool as well. Although it's more likely that you get them while playing on Pro Rules since you can choose the Battle Minigame. I can see why Jamboree Buddies being taken can be a problem for some people but I believe it does add more Strategy in places such as how to avoid getting them taken from you. Game is not perfect but I still believe it's a top tier Mario Party and MAYBE in contention for Best Game in the Series. 4:45 The fact that you can't see why including Minigames where the players on their own can get over 100 Coins is concerning. Your critique here doesn't even make any bloody sense. If you want to play the Koopathalon Minigames then play bloody Koopathalon. Same with the ones specifically designed for 8 Players. The Side Modes were designed TO BE PLAYED! 8:56 This has not really happened to me... Except on one of my Ally's very last turn on the Goomba Volcano Island Board but that board doesn't tend to go well with the Jamboree Buddy mechanic at times. Granted I haven't played this game online yet. If you're going to get the Ally then use STRATEGY! Have an escape plan ready. A Pipe or Golden Pipe. Maybe a Double or Triple Dice or Custom Dice onto a space that will get you away from everyone else? If you see everyone else going after it, don't go after it. Try winning the Minigame without the slight advantage you get for making it to the Jamboree Buddy and then you won't be with everyone else. 10:45 I did not enjoy the Solo Mode. It is slow, boring and tedious. You go around doing Minigames and Fetch Quests and then fight the Bosses who's scores you don't even need to be concerned about and Allies make way too easy. You get 10 Mini Stars just from answering Lakitu's questions and a lot of the Minigames it has are, again, not fun. 11:08 They are. If you land on a Battle Space then there's either a chance you can play them or if you're doing Pro Rules you can pick them. 13:53 Landing on it involves luck or strategy. Not skill. Skill Based for the player that lands on it? Maybe for the first two blocks you hit but the third block goes insanely fast so you'd have to have insane reaction time or eyesight for it to be skill based. Also, not exactly skill or strategy based for the other players involved either.
Boss minigames are available in Party mode as VS minigames. You can only get the boss that appears on that board in the story mode. Therefore, they never appear on the retro boards.
They need to add more customization, this game moves slower than molasses, and items are so cheap. I miss the old days where mushrooms cost 10 coins, now items to steal stars cost 10 coins. Every item needs to be bumped up. The minigames also might be the worst in a while with how few there are once you play without motion controls online
I really don't understand why I can't choose to make my character move faster. We had this option in Superstars, but for some reason, here it is only available for CPUs. Why? Also, the motion controls, like why is Nintendo still so adamant on throwing motion controls down our throats? The Wii is 18 years old now, motion controls are a thing of the past, Nintendo just for the love of God let that damn gimmick go. I think motion controls is what actually sets this game a little bit back. I still love it one of my favorite Mario Parties. Bun only if we could just have an option to map motion controls to buttons. This could make the experience even better. The majority of motion minigames can easily be playable with button controls. But for some reason Nintendo is still stuck in the past with the motion controls and believe people still like that gimmick. No Nintendo, it worked on the Wii and nowhere else it's annoying now. If you could map Skyward sword to button controls, a game that was literally designed for motion controls. I believe you can easily do the same here. It would literally make the game better. I sincerely believe motion controls is what's setting back this game alot.
@@Oyakinya-Izuki that’s an item specific to 1 map. That shouldn’t affect the rest of the game. Idk why nd cube with the switch Mario parties wants to have a terrible economy, with the first one having stars cost 10 by default, superstars had majority of the board full of lucky spaces, and this one has great item variety but has everything at 1/2 the price it should really cost
I think the economy is really well balanced in this game compared to the last couple entries. The item pricing always felt fair to me and always genuinely felt like risk v reward
The coolest thing about the single player is it's a direct callback to one of the most underrated Mario Party games, Mario Party Advance, where you similarly traveled around a board doing quests for various NPCs and when you did a certain amount, you'd go to the Bowser pipe to play a minigame against Bowser where you try to survive whatever he throws at you. It was a charming way to handle a single player Mario Party since on the GBA, it was rather difficult to play multiplayer in general (needing a link cable and usually multiple copies of the game). so I really liked how they kind of brought that back. My ONLY gripe with the single player is that it's a bit on the easy side to 100% compared to Mario Party Advance. I'd kind of like if they made it work like MPA where you use a limited number of dice to move around the board but can still move freely and every few moves, you play a minigame to restore your dice. Passing item shops and doing some quests would give you items that let you explore more and some of the quests even require you to travel to different boards or even using characters that fit certain archetypes (like a Blue Yoshi really wants to meet a Dinosaur character, so you bring Yoshi, Birdo, Spike, or Bowser to them and play a minigame). Having it where you sometimes need to land on certain spaces to activate or complete certain quests could encourage strategic use of slow blocks and allow you to practice using items as well and do a better job of teaching you how to play the game in single player. I still enjoyed it, but I'd REALLY love if they did Mario Party Advance again. This would've been the perfect chance to do something more like that, and they kind of did, but...again...a lot easier than MPA since it's mostly just "talk to this guy, then talk to this guy, then maybe play minigame, quest complete" and I'd have liked some stakes like if you fail a minigame and lose dice or you use an item at a bad time, it can possibly lead to a game over or a struggle to complete a difficult quest. Just my thoughts on story mode, but mostly my plug for why I think Mario Party Advance really deserves more respect than it gets for b eing a "single player" Mario Party. that's the only reason most people bash on it, and I think that's as stupid as saying "Sonic Shuffle is bad because Sonic shouldn't be on board games...."
ok you hit the nail on the head with this video, I was playing this game so much for the reason of being amazing as a whole, but the bad parts are really bad. what gives the game the overall W is the fact of variety, there is so many new modes, its hard to find a game mode you don't enjoy, so there's something for everyone.
The fact you have to use the Joy-Cons for the motion minigames is just insane! I have bought too many Joy-Cons because all of them keep breaking so I have to use the pro controller. But the game doesn't have support for the pro controller and that really turned me off from the game Edit: Fixed the pro controller issue
I was worried about the economy after how awful it was in the original super mario party, but it seemed to be basically fine when I played for the first time last night. You do get a lot of coins, but there are so many things to spend it on that it still feels relevant: 25 coin golden pipes, 20 coin stars, 50 coin steals from boo, not to mention lots of ways to lose coins from bowser spaces, events etc. The ally mechanic in particular really makes coins feel relevant, since you'll often need 40, 50, or even 100 coins to make full use of your ally. Getting lots of coins is fine imo as long as there are enough ways to use those coins, which there are. There were plenty of situations in our game where a player didn't have enough coins to do what they wanted to do.
I literally lost the game because another player dueled me and took all my coins on turn 18/20, preventing me from getting enough coins to use my golden pipe. In Super Mario Party with its awful 10 coin star cost, that wouldn't have been an issue but here it was, which is a good thing.
I think, by far the worst case for the economy comes from item prices and how scared they are to take coins from you. Chomp call is 6 coins, it's pathetic! And for everything that can take coins from you, you get an inverse that gives you triple the coins. Gold goombas give you five, lava bubbles steal 3. Mechakoopas give you 5 or 15, but fail and you lose 3 or 5. Unlucky spaces are genuinely pathetic. Lose 3 coins? That's literally just a red space! Meanwhile lucky spaces give you 15 all the time!
I think the only thing I don't agree of this video is pro rules shouldn't have chance time. If you're in first for 19 turns, and in the final turns you have to swap your stars and coins with last place, it takes no skill. But other than that this video is spot on
I dont see people saying the BIGGEST issue: the horrible white screens, theyre used everywhere in transitions and loading screens, I find it baffling that they went back to the white screens when they were awful in the gamecube games and stopped using them in 6 because they realized they just hurt your eyes and blind you. Superstars used black screens, so why would they go back to the dreadful white screens? I can't play this game in long sessions because my eyes hurt so much from getting the white screen even though I try to keep looking away, but they're way to prevalent to avoid.
I have a tip to fix the ally steal mechanic: if you LAND instead of passing you get to steal the ally! Or if you land on the same space then you go in like a duel for the ally just like in homestretch
I feel like every Mario Party on Switch have been overhyped at their launch. Like if 9 and 10 traumatised them so much that as long at the game didn't have the car mechanic it was a masterpiece. Remember when SMP came out and every one was saying it was "a true return to form", "one of the best of the series", "Nintendo finally understood". Then they said the same about SuperStars and now about Jamboree. It's getting pretty tiring because when I see lucky spaces, an overinflated economy, ect, I'm doubtful. I have yet to play Jamboree, but I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure it'll be good and I'll always have a fun time discovering new boards and minigames. But people calling it "the best in the series, a perfect party" obviously haven't played the Hudson games in a while.
You haven't even played Jamboree and are just basing it on a video you've seen online how can you say it's not and that "anyone who thinks it is hasn't played Hudson Soft Era." Almost EVERY Nintendo Game nowadays is overhyped. Tears of the Kingdom. Mario Wonder. Decent-Good Games that can be fun but are nowhere near the masterpieces every Nintendrone claimed them to be. With that being said, Super Mario Party Jamboree has at least been one of the best Mario Party Games. Granted, everyone calling this game perfect is just objectively wrong. Then again, anyone calling ANY Mario Party Game perfect is just objectively wrong. Because almost no game is objectively perfect and I'm pretty sure no game at all has ever been perfect on it's release.
@@ultraexcalibur1728 Yes, I did not play the game, but I am not basing what I said on a single video. I have watched a lot of Jamboree related content, know about most of the minigames, boards and their mechanics. You can see that something is bad the same way you can see that something is good just by watching it on video/trailer/etc. (Extreme example: You can tell that IslandTour doesn't sound fun just by watching a let's play). I also noticed a pattern with the reception of recent releases, something you can do without having played the games. I completely agree that each MP has its flaws, and don't think that any of the Hudsons are "perfect", my bad if it sounded like I did. Jamboree could very well end up being one of my favorites too, I sure hope so, but it does somethings that are in contradiction with what I enjoyed so much about some of the old games, things that sadly I don't see being patched in an update. Therefore my main issue with the overhype is that my problems with Jamboree were already present in SMP. But because of the hype that game got (and that no journalist actually seems to care about the balance of just another MP game), no reviewer complained about LuckySpaces, losers getting coins in minigames,... I'm just scared that these things that brings the game down for me (and all the persons I know), will continue to plague later entries... And it looks like history is going to repeat yet again in the next entry.
@@Ukysseus 2nd and 3rd Place getting coins isn't something I'm TOO fond of but in SOME Minigames it does make sense to give them some. I thought I'd enjoy Party Planner Trek (the Story mode) based on watching some videos but I actually found it to be the most boring mode in the game and it felt like more of a chore to play than actually fun. Meanwhile I actually found Rhythm Kitchen to be quite fun despite having motion controls. The Motion Controls in it actually work and it's done in a good way too with you having to move it to a certain rhythm. I do agree with your take about being able to "see that something is bad." I don't think you need to play Big Rigs Over The Road Racing or Superman 64 to realize that they're bad games. At the same time though, when you watch a review, not everything they say is accurate. I posted a comment in this comments section with timestamps going over things I felt were wrong (as I do with a lot of videos) and have tried to be more constructive with my criticisms than most RUclipsrs. Sometimes games get way too much crap and people follow along or too much praise and people follow along. Sometimes there are things you need to experience yourself before making a judgement and I've learned that after watching so many terrible reviews on RUclips.
@@ultraexcalibur1728 I think that 2nd and 3rd getting coins can work in some minigames, and that's why it's a perfectly fine mechanic when exclusive to BattleMinigames, it even makes them feel more special. Games are not movies and when it's something new, actually experiencing it controller in hand is essential to form a constructive opinion. But in this specific case, I have already experienced luckyspaces before, so I can compare that experience I had with what I'm seeing (and turns out it's pretty much the same :/). I like your examples, I've played 3D ActionGames before so I can easily see why Superman64 is bad, where it might not be as obvious to my grandma...
Funny how I thought the exact same about those side modes watching the trailer. I didn't want to spoil myself too much and I try to have low expectations on those to be pleasantly surprised, I'll see if it worked. It's true that sometimes people are very nitpicky just to have something to say and make a funny vid/comment. I have a lot of examples in mind but to stay on the MP topic, MarioParty-E is a game you'll always find at the very bottom of tierlists, but after playing it somewhat recently, I think it might unironically be one of my favorite game in the franchise. I would've NEVER guessed that watching videos about it. But that criticism is so common that when it's absent (like what's been happening with the recent MPs), it makes it feel like the game doesn't have ANY issues, which is especially frustrating when these could be fixed so easily. So I'm angry -> I critic -> Vicious Circle ig...
The economy/lucky spaces have been my #1 gripe since my first game of Superstars 3 years ago. Unfortunately NDcube loves to give every player tons of coins for doing nothing. Winning a tough, skill-based minigame: 10 coins. Landing on one of the 17 lucky spaces: 20 coins, Golden double dice, etc. The broken economy is exacerbated with the board gimmicks that also give out tons of coins such as the Stamps, Honey, fishing/golden volcano, etc. Custom dice blocks are a major proponent for these problems. Step 1: Game gives you tons of coins/free items. Step 2: Buy custom dice blocks Step 3: Go from Lucky Space to Lucky Space. Repeat.
If you’re incredibly unlucky you can keep the ally for three whole turns and have them not benefit you at all! Like the first time I landed on bowser and went to him twice then next landed on a blue space and finally landed on a red space making my extra three coins from the blue space pointless
My main complaint is that we can't customize Pro Rules. The idea is so good, but it'd be perfect if we could pick and choose the amount and kind of randomness available.
One thing I don’t understand about the allies is why only 10 of the 22 playable characters are Jamboree Buddies and have Showdown Minigames. I think Nintendo and NDCube should’ve made the other 12 playable characters also get to be Jamboree Buddies and have Showdown Minigames, increasing the total Minigames to 124. Like think of the Jamboree Buddy abilities for the other 12 playable characters.
Is it just me, or are some of the Jamboree Buddies extremely rare? Like, Yoshi and Rosalina have not appeared as Jamboree Buddies for me at all yet, and Daisy only appeared once as a Jamboree Buddy for me, meanwhile Donkey Kong has appeared as an ally so many times. Why aren’t Yoshi or Rosalina showing up for me? I’m making sure nobody’s playing as them + I have motion control minigames enabled and they still refuse to appear. It’s really frustrating because it’s preventing me from getting two achievements because I need to use their ally abilities to get two achievements. Is anyone else having this issue?
4:10 they could be converted but i think that they should make it in the party gamemode that you mash a certain button at the right time. So that everyone can do it. Instead of doing a motion
I totally agree with your points about losing jamboree buddies. On my past few games, I've dominated their minigames to get them, including when I didn't trigger them myself. One game, a CPU passed me every time before I got my turn with DK, to the point that neither of us triggered DK's buddy bonus because we passed each other every time before the other got a turn. Winning the buddy, cooking in the minigame, and losing out on the opportunity to capitalize on them just because someone else passed you just doesn't make sense. What if there was a microgame that triggered unique to that jamboree buddy, giving you a chance to keep or steal them, one that only lasts a few seconds? That would feel much more fair. I would definitely like to see that get patched, or anything that isn't the distracted boyfriend meme that currently exists.
You forgot to mention the Paratroopa Flight School… What was the point of this mode existing? Why are we just solely limited to Mario and Luigi and nobody else? This mode felt like a waste… and nobody talks about it…
I'm glad I am not the only one that misses that from Mario Party. It was even in Super Mario Party and I guess people are so revved up on free for alls in Party Mode, Nintendo probably just assumed nobody would want it back which is not true.
I thought the economy was really well balanced in this. Playing with a group it was always very risky getting items because the number of coins you get from green spaces and mini games has been seriously reduced. A lot of games we’d get to the end with barely 2 stars between the four of us because we’d be so broke the whole time
9:15 if there was a one turn immunity to where you get to have the ally, I think this would mechanic would be perfectly fine Heavily respect you giving a nuanced critique of the game instead of blaming praising it, calling it "a return to form" for the series. I do really like this game, but there are some problems to be had here
good damn it makes me so angry... because its just so simple to fix that. More options to play the normal Mario Party Mode like cancel this annoying lucky fields, make the shop item price doubled or put on 3 bonus stars... Bring the Mini-games from other modes also in the normal Party-Mode for more variation, like you say wtf, just do a single-player mini-game for four thats it and make Motion-control Games for Pro-Controller playable. Just so simple options to reference the party mode more to your on likely Play style. I don't know why ND Cube don’t get it... If they really don't have the eye for this, does they won't hear all the players who have been complaining for 3 Mario Parties before? Are they so confident in their own game that you force players to only play the mode in this one exact variant? Or they just really lack the sensitivity for exactly that… I don't know but also the best ND Cube Party we had so far, I hope they bring some fixes and buffs. 🤞🏼🙏🏽🎲
I love the game so much and honestly I think Koopathlon is so underrated It's probably my favourite side mode ever Oh and 11:25 yes you can play them in the main mario party mode i got the eel one while playing tree party.
All of the side modes are absolutely knock out of the park fantastic. Kaboom squad and koopathalon are absolutely incredible. Also if you have people to couch co-op with rhythm kitchen and weirdly toads factory are really good. I haven’t done much fight school
I really wish they would let you pick and choose which rules you want to play with. But also change details like how much a star costs. Beause everyone has things they like and don't like from different mario party games, so this way you could make it so it has the parts you like, and skip the things you don't think are working (but others might love).
I might be the only person who misses 2vs2 Party Mode, it was my sister and I's favorite mode and it's disappointing that it hasn't returned in two games...
I would like to see your ranking of the mario party games. Everyone has different opinions of them and it's always fun to see. My favorite is currently mario party 7 only because there is a board that plays like monopoly such as the player buying the most windmills. I wish they brought that mechanic back
the worst part about the buddies being stolen is it completely removes the good that comes from buddies like waluigi and yoshi because as soon as you pass someone to take coins/copy an item, youre now within striking distance for them to just take your ally away
I hate chance time so I can’t relate on that last point lol. I feel like it rarely makes a fair impact, either being inconsequential or invalidating the whole game. “But without it, how does somebody in last catch up at the end of the game?” Uh… they probably don’t. Somebody has to get last and I think a single space on a single turn should not allow somebody to come back. Something like boo is different because you save coins for it, or a hidden block is at least more exciting because you can’t guarantee where it is (and neither can just swap EVERYTHING between two players which I think is silly). Plus, bonus stars can allow for that comeback if the gap isn’t too large between first and last. If the gap is so large that you couldn’t possibly catch up with them then you probably got last place for a reason. I think I’m a stickler for fairness so that’s probably why I think it’s an annoying space lol.
Heavy on the “not enough mini games”! As someone who mainly plays handheld mode, I find it too repetitive when motion mini games are turned off. And how a considerable number of mini games are for single player (Bowser Kaboom Squad and Koopathlon). I doubt Nintendo will fix it but it would be nice if they adapted the single player mini games to be played on party mode!
Even though it’s not perfect. Seems like Nintendo Cube has FINALLY! Made a game that can compare to the best of Hudson Soft’s. Board selection, characters and minigames are all consistent in quality and it’s a sight to behold, even if there are not enough minigames that require no joycons. The Ally stealing is kinda silly honestly, it caught me off guard but not in a good way. Sometimes I wonder when Nintendo will just give us a game on the quality of 2,3 and 6 again
The only thing maybe couldve changed of pro rules is the amount of turns, but not having chance time is actually great. And the allies, I think we all agree that needs to change for the next Mario party in idk how many years
One you didn’t mention is I find it very tedious that I have to unlock the other maps. Everyone can’t throw in hours of XP grind just to enjoy a new map
Chance time is 100% not luck if you can figure out the timing. Its not as easy as in super stars because they made the order random (in superstars you could guarentee a star steal by mashing A as soon as the timer went off)
Just had the npc swap my 5 starts with another npc’s 2. But it’s ok because I have 300 coins and everyone else has less than 40 until the next npc lands on bowser and gets bowser revolution. I love the game but losing 3 stars and 200 coins on a single turn with 5 turns to go is an awful experience.
I couldn't agree more on minigame variety on the main mode. I thought exactly the same about the ''waste'' of plenty excellent minigames that are only playable in side modes. I hope they will add more, because I'm already getting bored playing party mode, even if I love the game. It feels like I always get the same minigames, and only about half of them are fun to me. Anyway great video!
I wish we had more gimmicky maps where you dont just pay $20 to buy a star, I get it would make the ally system a lot weirder but maps like from mario party 7 like the windmill one or the one where everyone starts with 5 and you steal from each other
How about when you pass someone with an ally they spin a 1/4 wheel where you have a 3/4 chance to keep it, but every time they pass you again the wheel gets better and better for the passer, like 1/3 than 1/2 if they happen to pass you 3 times somehow
I don’t really understand the complaint of not enough minigames. There are 53 regular minigames in the roulette which all Mario party games have around 50. Though I can agree turning off motion minigames only leaves 41, that’s a on you for choosing that option
@@MikeDelorme-t2utotally agree, a lot of the motion minigames would totally work with a pro controller, like the minigolf one. There should be 3 options 1 off 2 on 3 pro controller on (some of the motion minigames that should work fine with pro controller) Or switch lite)
@@isaacpomarleau9008 nah man the joy con ones are definitively much worse than ones you can use Pro Controllers / Buttons only Imo they should be rare and niche ones. They should design for the majority of users and for Switch Lite / people using it on the go
The Rosalina ally minigame can totally work without motion controls. The fact that she is the only ally locked behind dumb ass motion controls boggles my mind as to when did NDcube ever thought that was a good idea?@TheErlend87
@@isaacpomarleau9008 when they advertised 110 minigames but it’s only really 41 for online play since they made a bunch of random side modes no one cares about, it’s annoying. Also it’s tough going from 93 minigames to 41
Personally, if I could add one thing it would be The Bowser Party, where one player is Imposter Bowser and the others are characters they choose, it works like the Mario Party 10 one and maybe even some more new mechanics!
Jamboree gets a strong 7/10 for me. Its better than the past 3 or 4 (maybe even more) titles released but is enjoyable with friends/family. I still love the game and dont regret the purchase, i only wish there were more ways to counterplay how dumbed down the game is. - Maps are WAY too small - mini games ported from older titles arent as challenging + shorter i.e 2v2 Jump the Gun minigame is dumbed down + short, 1v3 Snow Brawl bots are just retarded - The game is too friendly for people who cant win, literally giving them participation prizes - Allies being taken for just being passed is VERY lame, a duel should be initiated if the passer wants to take the ally - map traps not vanishing after being land on raise questions - some minigames should not be unlocked via online - lack of bowser minigames, i loved when we had like 3 to unlock + play
My thoughts on the “chance time” style spaces: I have always hated them. I’ll never forget once way back when I was playing a ton of MP4, I did a massive 50 turn game on Toads Midway Madness. Very close to the end of the game I had almost 1000 coins. I landed on a reversal of fortune spot and of course I had to trade coins with the CPU that had the least at 3. I still won the game because of star count, but still I wanted to end the game with that monumental amount of coins. It just feels dumb to have all your work stripped away in an instant all because of some stupid luck based gimmick.
This is still a fun Mario Party, but, yeah, it does have a lot of fundamental design flaws. One of the worst things I experienced was the online experience. I was playing a 15 turn game and winning by a decent margin. The last 5 turns pop up and BOOM...communication error! I couldn't rejoin and finish the game. For the record, I have the ethernet adapter and good internet, so I don't think it was an issue on my end. That just kind of soured my experience especially since these games can take over an hour to finish! I also wish they didn't focus as much on side modes in this one. Some of them just aren't fun and I tried some of them once, but I didn't feel like going back to them. I wish they had cut some of that fluff and focused on more mini-games and such for the actual Party Mode (the mode most people want to play in Mario Party). Also, personal preference is to cut a lot of the motion control games. Nintendo is still pushing their motion controls, but they really don't add anything fun or interesting. I'd rather they focus on just adding more fun mini-games that don't require the motion controls.
@@kevenvalle4671 that’s always a problem with these new ones since nd cube is obsessed with making random side modes no one cares about. 110 minigames sounds great on the cover but then you realize its spread out between like 15 modes
@@Georgeavocadosdude the side modes are the actual best part of this game. Koopathon, bowsers kaboom squad, and (with friends on couch coop) toad factory and rhythm kitchen are excellent
You guys are too used to playing mario party with your group of friends that are all competitive. The Ally steal is needed for younger kids and casual gamers to have fun. I'm the best minigamer in my family playing with my wife and daughter and if I could hold on to them easily I just dominate the games I play. Should it be toggleable? Yes! But not removed.
Pro Rules is a great feature, but really needs settings options. Like I don't think Chance Time should be in Pro Rules, but it could've been an option.
I hardly disagree with Allies being stolen. Since they can make huge comebacks it is fair in my opinion that they can be stolen. If the allies were not as strong as they were then I would agree that they should not be stolen but in their current state, I dissagree.
In your Ranking the Best and Worst Mario Games of Each Series, you put Super Mario Party as the worst, and Mario Party 8 as the best. I want to see where the others rank. Could you do that ranking video, please?
Great video, I was also hoping this would be "the perfect return" and was a little disappointed by some things but loved stuff like the boards. It really is complicated for this one. I have played like 20 hours of party mode and I've only seen the Rocky Wrench Boss appear on the minigame wheel one time (didn't play it) they are so incredibly rare for no reason.
On my first game I got Peach as an ally which doubled the coins I got from free spaces I could buy stars for 10 coins and I could buy 2 stars at once I never got to a star in 3 turns and here is the twist if you step on a red space the coins u lose doubles too i only stepped on red spaces XDD
The broken economy is also part of the things that i don't like. In early MP games it was kinda hard getting coins and buying items and winning Mini Games was much more important than it is now. I maxed out the coin counter in a 30 turn on Bowser's Board when i got over 400 Coins out of the vault and then my coins were doubled in the last 5 turns. This did not happen for a really long time like when Game Guy in MP3 was a thing. I played some of the games too many times already and i'm kind of sick of it. You're absolutely right that it should need more of them, especially if so many are remakes of old Minigames...
The key to a perfect Mario Party game is customization. Allow players to create the most busted rules or the most balanced or skill based rules. Almost how everyone has their own way of playing Uno.
@@TheDarkGBJ absolutely, imagine how good this game could become with post lauch support, board/minigames dlc and more customizations!
Like Smash Bros. I can turn on all items, some items, or no items depending on what group of people I'm playing with.
I don’t understand the lack of customization in Mario Party games. It would make the game infinitely better
And remove allies
@@Stargazing_night_sky no. Just make it optional
the stealing an ally mechanic is stupid because you're telling me i just tryharded a minigame for 3 full minutes and im not even guaranteed to keep it for the 3 turns they're there? i feel like if you're gonna have that long of a minigame and the ally isn't even there for long just let the winner keep it
My thoughts exactly.
Nah, i just balance the game. Otherwise the ally is too OP
I'd rather make that an item, like an "Ally Laso" or "Ally Rope" that captures the ally when you pass someone with an ally
I really thought that was a glitch the first time I noticed it. It left me with confusion.
@@denize7166 for a 3 minute minigame it should be op. it's not even that op just a good advantage, and it's only for 3 turns
It should of been a option
I never found it particularly unfair. In my playthroughs with couch co-op we found that deciding who lands on the ally and who gets it and how everyone is spaced becomes a part of the strategy
Bro have you played the game?
Or just to turn off the allies
I hate how slow the camera moves, and how awkwardly long the cutscenes are (it shows characters just standing there for like 3 seconds)
@@TheErlend87 its funny to see different opinion about the pacing
Since the camera is more dynamic and stuff I dont feel it so bad that the pacing is bad being a bit slower than superstars.
For me it doesnt feel slower or so cause I have fun watching the character moving with the dynamic camera they added. It always feels "fast" for me somehow.
Sure, if they had the static camera like in the old mario party it would feel slower (for me) but here its fine
but ofc.. having the extra option is always the best they can have! The more option you have as a player the better a game is.
That requires Nintendo to actually add DLC to this game which is unlikely looking at their track record for Mario Partys
As someone who plays Local Multiplayer a lot, I feel like I really resonate with the first Ugly point as well.
It feels as though Nintendo is slowly letting Local Multiplayer die out in favour of Online, and a perfect example of this is Bowser's Kaboom Squad:
Nintendo: Here's an 8 player Co-op with minigame breaks!
Me: Oh so it's like River Survival, cool!
Nintendo: But it's online only.
Me: what
Nintendo: Also you can only play the minigames singleplayer for Minigame Bay
Me: WHAT

Ahh thanks I’ll add it now!
i dream of the day we get a smash bros-level of customization for the rules. individually turning off/on certain minigames and bonus stars, customizable coin economy, tweaking allies, motion control minigames having a control stick option, ect. the potential for variety and new ways to play could be amazing
The motion control minigames wouldn't be so bad if they had pro controller support you shouldn't be forced to play with a single joycon to access everything
Yeah, lots of the minigames could easily work with pro controller, they are probably more worried about switch lite i bet!
Totally agree, I just hate switching the controllers.
But you CAN play this game without Joy-Cons, right? Not like Super Mario Party, which forced you to use them.
They can show up as Battle Minigames
biggest issue: too god damn slow. a 45 minute Superstars match is atleast 2 hours here. it’s absurd.
It’s tolerable to me playing with humans but watching cpus chug along is really annoying
The lack of mini games in the main mode is the biggest flaw. They could have converted some of the side mode mini games to the main mario party mode
Stealing the ally is the best option they can get to make it more balanced!
I think a good option would be an item you had to buy (lets call it: Chain Chomps Chains or something like that)
If you have the item and pass someone with an ally, you can steal him/her, if not..
Exactly. Chance time would make Pro Mode pointless.
Facts‼️
Absolutely, so much needless boring dialogue
Pro rules is skill based and you complain about a space called chance time being removed. That is the entire point get rid of chance
Chance Time can be rigged by the players with enough skill tho.
Seems like the majority of issues in this boil down to online play and "it has to be that way or try hard sweaty people will win everything."
I agree with you.
Also to note. I am nearly perfect at most of these games(same with my sister) if one of us get the advantage thats usually the persom that wins
Rosalina is almost impossible to lose with advantage if you play perfectly
Peach is the same case. Since that gold box is usually killer
Mario is also the same
Bowser jrs is HUGE
Donkey kongs is easy by itself. Advantage just makes it a cakewalk
And then the rest can be beaten without advantage.
Not having the ability to steal would suck.
Also me and my sister BOTH hate chance. Because ileven if i myself land on it. I CAN STILL get screwed over
9:38 it should be an item, like an "Ally Rope" or "Ally Laso" that only last place gets, and gets automatically used upon passing a player who has the ally and steals it
I'd rather just have everyone be able to get it. Would make things more interesting for everyone
100% this would be perfect
I think at least a 10 coin "bribe" fee would be enough, maybie the fee could increase for each time it happens?
Last place gets it in homestretch, everybody can buy it in the item store
11:11 Boss battles are in main mario party mode but they can only appear when stepping on vs space. So you have to step on vs space and even then other minigames besides boss battles can still be picked instead so relatively low chance of them appearing but theyre still there.
Playing mainly the Mario Party mode without gimmicky motion controls the games lack of mini games is pretty noticeable. Like you said, most of the games seem to be reserved for side modes.
The side modes are AMAZING though
@@joelsytairo6338 sides modes lack minigames
I don't have Jamboree but here are my thoughts based on what I see from others' gameplay:
I really like how each board looks super unique and feels like they returned to form there.
13:54 i sometimes hate Chance time, my girlfriend accidentally handed all 2 of my stars to Monty mole, and i was Devastated.
That’s a good point to make and I think you’re right about that. Good comparison.
@@elephantyarn7378 good to know! Thanks!
You can fight bosses in the main mode through vs spaces.
Agree, we should be able to customize the prices of items and other stuff. Lets hope it gets dlc soon!
They probably bumped it down for the market 2x pricier sticker
@@Oyakinya-Izuki that’s an item specific to 1 map. That shouldn’t affect the rest of the game. Idk why nd cube with the switch Mario parties wants to have a terrible economy, with the first one having stars cost 10 by default, superstars had majority of the board full of lucky spaces, and this one has great item variety but has everything at 1/2 the price it should really cost
I think the economy is really well balanced in this game compared to the last couple entries. The item pricing always felt fair to me and always genuinely felt like risk v reward
I hope they have DLCs for this game, they won’t, but I hope
Don't underestimate my ability to lose a mini game while having the advantage
@@MRoccoMarzullo 😂
The bad: game is slow af
The ugly: No Mario Party 3 love
But the game doesn't have support for the pro controller and that really turned me off from the game
Edit: Fixed the pro controller issue
Cool tip: you can turn off reactions from other players during gameplay just open reaction menu and it will show a toggle
Bad minigames are part of the fun of Mario Party. Voting will always be off
some minigames are just boring, besides if you really want you can still vote for them when they appear.
Step 2: Buy custom dice blocks
Step 3: Go from Lucky Space to Lucky Space. Repeat.
If you’re incredibly unlucky you can keep the ally for three whole turns and have them not benefit you at all!
Like the first time I landed on bowser and went to him twice then next landed on a blue space and finally landed on a red space making my extra three coins from the blue space pointless
Getting Peach as an ally and never once getting the chance to get to the star
@ wow 😧
a boo repellent item comeback would be nice as everyone’s at boo every other term as there’s so many ways to get coins fast
You forgot to mention the Paratroopa Flight School…
What was the point of this mode existing?
Why are we just solely limited to Mario and Luigi and nobody else?
This mode felt like a waste… and nobody talks about it…
I’m honestly disappointed, no team 2v2 mode kills it for me
I'm glad I am not the only one that misses that from Mario Party. It was even in Super Mario Party and I guess people are so revved up on free for alls in Party Mode, Nintendo probably just assumed nobody would want it back which is not true.
12:00 Honestly they should either go back to having 1st Place only getting coins or make the items more expensive.
Or the loosers loos coin like in mp1!
Yeah, setting custom prices would be great
I thought the economy was really well balanced in this. Playing with a group it was always very risky getting items because the number of coins you get from green spaces and mini games has been seriously reduced. A lot of games we’d get to the end with barely 2 stars between the four of us because we’d be so broke the whole time
@@joelsytairo6338What? I just finished a game where everyone had 5+ stars and 100-200 coins
9:15 if there was a one turn immunity to where you get to have the ally, I think this would mechanic would be perfectly fine
Heavily respect you giving a nuanced critique of the game instead of blaming praising it, calling it "a return to form" for the series. I do really like this game, but there are some problems to be had here
Yeah a one turn buffer would be great

good damn it makes me so angry... because its just so simple to fix that.
Or they just really lack the sensitivity for exactly that…
I don't know but also the best ND Cube Party we had so far, I hope they bring some fixes and buffs. 🤞🏼🙏🏽🎲
I love the game so much and honestly I think Koopathlon is so underrated It's probably my favourite side mode ever
Oh and 11:25 yes you can play them in the main mario party mode i got the eel one while playing tree party.
All of the side modes are absolutely knock out of the park fantastic. Kaboom squad and koopathalon are absolutely incredible. Also if you have people to couch co-op with rhythm kitchen and weirdly toads factory are really good. I haven’t done much fight school
How about chance time! is available in "pro rules" but gets deactivated when reaching "homestretch" (last 5 turns)
Why does the Pro Controller even have motion control when a lot of games force you to use the Joy-cons in order to use motion controls?
I really wish they would let you pick and choose which rules you want to play with. But also change details like how much a star costs. Beause everyone has things they like and don't like from different mario party games, so this way you could make it so it has the parts you like, and skip the things you don't think are working (but others might love).
Rather than having party mode and pro-mode, they should have the ruleset changable or add a custom mode where you can choose the ones you want
I agree the ally thing is an easy fix what they should've done was turned walking past an ally into a duel for the ally
The only thing maybe couldve changed of pro rules is the amount of turns, but not having chance time is actually great.
And the allies, I think we all agree that needs to change for the next Mario party in idk how many years
Bosses can appear as minigames on VS space
They should make it so you have to land on the exact tile the person with an ally is on to take it
I think this game's economy is in fact much worse than Superstars.
Shame they don’t update/patch these games. What you buy at launch is usually all you’ll ever get.
One you didn’t mention is I find it very tedious that I have to unlock the other maps. Everyone can’t throw in hours of XP grind just to enjoy a new map
I actually have gotten a Boss Minigame once. I don’t know if it was a space or something that caused it to happen, but I got one. Great video!
You can get a battle duel glove that duels a star on the line in the party rules mode. They sell it at one of the shops for 40 coins.
roll em race way with pro rules is super fun while the bonus star is Slowpoke Star.
I had that with my sister and by like turn 10, I gave up on that bonus star 😭😭
Glad u agree! Thanks!
I wouldn't mind this if the motion minigames had pro controller support you shouldn't be handicapped cause you prefer using that over a single joycon
@@MikeDelorme-t2utotally agree, a lot of the motion minigames would totally work with a pro controller, like the minigolf one.
There should be 3 options
1 off
2 on
3 pro controller on (some of the motion minigames that should work fine with pro controller)
Or switch lite)
@@isaacpomarleau9008 nah man the joy con ones are definitively much worse than ones you can use Pro Controllers / Buttons only
Imo they should be rare and niche ones.
- Maps are WAY too small
- mini games ported from older titles arent as challenging + shorter i.e 2v2 Jump the Gun minigame is dumbed down + short, 1v3 Snow Brawl bots are just retarded
- The game is too friendly for people who cant win, literally giving them participation prizes
- Allies being taken for just being passed is VERY lame, a duel should be initiated if the passer wants to take the ally
- map traps not vanishing after being land on raise questions
- some minigames should not be unlocked via online
- lack of bowser minigames, i loved when we had like 3 to unlock + play
It is possible to duel for stars in normal mode with the rare green duel glove
My biggest complaint is not enough mini games I hate replaying mini games even if it’s a mini game I like
@@kevenvalle4671 that’s always a problem with these new ones since nd cube is obsessed with making random side modes no one cares about.
Mario party 8 only had 14 4 player mini games most Mario parties don’t even have that many 4 player mini games
@@Georgeavocados"Hmm, I personally don't care about the side modes... that must mean nobody cares about them!☝️🤓"
@@GeorgeavocadosI actually like koopathalon and Bowser kaboom squad a lot and I dont think they're a waste of develooment time.
11:12 I got the bee boss playing Mario Party
The boss minigames ARE actually available to play in main mario party. I got the rocky wrench one in my first game on a vs space
I just hope this one has some kind of support; add like 2 new characters, a stage and a few dozen mini games in an update. Easy.
