It's amazing how much everyone glazes Mario Party 8 nowadays yet when the game first came out, it was probably the most hated and polarizing MP game at that time.
Hard disagree on Mario Party 3. I thinks it's the best in the series, has so much strategy because of the huge list of items you can get, while also balancing luck well so bad players can still have a chance which makes the games more fun. Has a damn good library of mini games and the boards aren't award winning but they are fine enough to have a great time.

I find it so funny that all the ranks of mario party that I see consists in putting the games you played on your childhood in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I love mario party 8, it has a special place in my heart. But I guess the nostalgia factor is very heavy in these kinds of games.
As somebody who started on Mario Party 1 as a kid and had played every single game in the series as it’s come out (yes I’m old) I found this ranking to be mostly correct EXCEPT for Mario Party 8 which I think he’s ranked a bit too high here due to his admitted bit of nostalgia and childhood connection here. Don’t get me wrong, 8 is fun, but by his own admission the boards make the game and ranking 8 above 6 and 7 is just a WILD take to me. Especially since 8’s minigames are mostly just wiimote waggle gimmicks, and a number of the boards like the Boo one and the Donkey Kong one are pretty boring. Other than Tycoon Town and Perplex Express I’d say the boards are mostly mid. Justice for 6 and 7!
People usually have 2 as their top pick but that one is actually really slow when you go back to play it. I loved that game as a kid, but Jamboree is my favorite along with Superstars.
Honestly, I don’t hate the rationale for MP8’s position. I never really considered how motion control games could make the game easier to pick up for non-gamers
think the problem with MP8 was that it was roughly new game for wii and motion controls were in a rough spot of knowing what works and what doesn't, 8 is playable sure but there are times where it's just not engaging because the motion controls aren't utilised to it's best. compared to 9 where it was one of the last wii games and by then they figured it out
Mario Party 9 is underrated by a lot. The Car mechanic was in response of the fans saying Mario Party was getting repetitive, but I can say Mario Party 10 is worse by a lot, Mario Party 10 got the NSMB treatment

I’ll always have a soft spot for Mario Party 9 since it was the first game in the series I played, but also just cause, even today, I love its visuals, extra modes, minigames, and music. As for Jamboree, don’t think it’s quite as good as 2,3, or 6 for me, but I do think it’s easily the best game from the ND Cube era of Mario Party by a wide margin. There is still a lot that can be improved obviously, like I really wish they just focused on making boards the best they can be without focusing too heavily on side content, but as a whole, I’m pretty confident with the franchise moving forward. Good times indeed. Also sorry but Island Tour is not better than Star Rush and Super.
I can't say I agree on Mario Party 5's placement. I grew up on the Nintendo 64 trilogy, wasn't a fan of the first game, loved 2, and absolutely adore 3. But as I've gotten older, I do prefer the GameCube ones, particularly 5, 6, and 7. And I loved the capsules in five, they make the overall game more chaotic and random, which I did really enjoy, and the capsules were a lot of fun. 5 also has some very iconic mini-games, love the story mode, the side modes, especially Card Party. It also brought in the iconic Red K. Kid, Green K. Kid, and Blue K. Kid, and we had the Star Spirits from Paper Mario as hosts.

To be honest though I actually am surprised it's the top of the list because I mean even though I love that game I'm not sure if I would put it at number one but here's the thing, it might still be my personal number one. Even though I grew up in the 90s and I loved playing Mario party 2 and 3 back in the day, and I also played Mario party 5 when it was new, all three of those games I rented from Hollywood Video. Mario party 8 was the first Mario party I bought and owned. So I was 19 years old or at least turning 19 years old when Mario party 8 came out so despite the fact that Mario party came out during my young adulthood, it's easily the Mario party I played the most by far. Every board was so much fun although I didn't really ever play the donkey Kong board. Now I get the irony in me almost never playing the donkey Kong board since the rules were more like classic Mario party and I know I would have enjoyed it but one of the friends I was playing with at the time basically had never played a Mario party game before and was just more into the remaining boards and didn't really care about the classic rules I guess. Not to mention the board itself just wasn't really as interesting. While we all enjoyed playing all the other boards, we definitely played the koopa troopa tycoon city won the most by far. It was the most skill-based because he did have to be smart with how much of your coins you want to spend to by the Stars at the hotels
How is Super worse than 9, 10, Island Tour, *AND* Star Rush?! I just don't get the hate for Super, even with the small amount of content it had. It was great that we got a return to the classic Mario party formula, and that it got updated with online play. Even if the ally system was busted, Super was a much needed breath of fresh air.

Super Mario Party is NOT a bad Game! It's much better than Mario Party 9, 10, Star Rush, Top 100 and Island Tour. Don't forget: Super Mario Party was the first Mario Party, that the concept comes back from ND - Cube. The another Mario Party titles has a another concept like in 9 and 10 don't collect Stars from your coins, you collect Mini Stars and this was a bad idea. Like the ideas in Star Rush the idea to defeat a Boss for a star. Super Mario Party is NOT a bad Game. Btw: my favorit is Mario Party 8.
It's not a good game either. If you compare it to the Nintendo 64 and GameCube entries, it's at the bottom of the barrel. Even the weakest games 1 and 8 are better than Super. It wasn't a real return to form, it was more or less a half-step/baby step, which is infuriating given they should've known what fans wanted after years of slop. The boards all stunk and only having 4 was unacceptable. The mechanics were unbalanced, the economy was broken, coins were worthless, and you were forced to play the game with a single Joy-Con controller.
11:49 how could Mario party 9 have introduced boss fights? There's a boss battle at the end of Mario party 3. I skipped Mario party 4 but I do know there's a boss battle at the end of Mario party 5 against bowser. I played Mario party 6 demo at I think Toys r Us when that still existed, but I never actually had the game at home and I missed out on Mario party 7 however I do know Mario party 8 has a boss fight against Bowser at the end. Not to mention Mario party DS has a boss fight after every board you complete in the story mode.
I find myself defending Mario Party 1 sometimes but having that ahead of 3 is crazy. 3 has the best strategy in the whole series and I disagree strongly about the maps. I'm a big fan of Woody Woods and Waluigi's Island has so much fun stuff on it. Only map I'm not really a fan of is the desert map
The Mario Party 3 dis hurt a bit haha. I personally think the boards in that game are great. The fake star mechanic in Spiny Desert and the crevasse in Deep Blooper sea. IMO, MP3 has some of the best music in the series as well.
Mario party three is my personal favorite only because of nostalgia reasons. It was my first Mario party game I ever played with my brothers, but I agree with most everything on this list
Super Mario Party Jamboree is the best Mario Party game for many reasons: 1. The largest roster of characters (22) 2. The largest amount of mini games (112) 3. Many side modes 4. Plenty of boards (5 new and 2 classics) 5. Replayability
I still think Mario Party 8 or 6 beats it, I'm only talking about 8 here because i didn't play much of 6, but Jamboree has 2 major flaws that would make it the best otherwise. The roster, side modes, and boards (though i would say 6 and 8's boards are better), are really great. - First of all, the amount of minigames. It's not a lot, as if you have motion controls disabled you end up getting repeat minigames a LOT. Mario Party 8 reused minigames, and 6 had night mode minigames which felt like every minigame was fresh. The selection as well, Jamboree has a lot of quiz and mildly unbalanced minigames. - Second, the coins. this is probably the thing that holds back the party mode the most by far. All the issues you hear people talk about the game, it comes from the coins. The Lucky Spaces give you 5-20 coins and include an ally, even 30. It doesn't sound so bad until you realize that 15 coins is 5 TURNS OF BLUE SPACES. Meanwhile, Unlucky Spaces take 3-7 coins lol. Even the Event Spaces only take 5 when in previous games, they took 10 at minimum. The bullet bill event in Bowser's Keep is surrounded by lucky spaces and only take 5 coins for landing on them. Now why this is bad, is because it mainly centers the game around movement items and going to boo, In Rainbow Castle theres no way to lose alot of coins so you rack up so much if you get an ally a double steal would be as expensive as buying 1 star in the old games. Jamborees let you buy 2 stars for 40 coins, and another 2 if it spawns next to you. 4 stars just for the low cost of earning it back on a lucky space. Lucky Space are not the only issue, it's the way to dispense coins being lacking and Bonus Coin minigames giving a ton (abt 30 per minigame) as well. Example: On a 50 turn Mario Party 8 game, i never see anyone over 100 coins, meanwhile here getting 200 coins is common. Items are also too cheap, but if they fix those coin issues i could see a more item-based game would be nice - It is a great game, but Mario Party 8 and 6 felt way more balanced. Modern Mario Parties have a big economy issue that i hope they fix in the next game
The only 3 mario party games i have were A) Released after eachother and B) Next to eachother on the list, guess what mario party games i have if you want.
Mario Party 9 is so underappreciated. It has the best music, the best Minigames and the best Bossfights in the entire series. The only thing you can hate is the car, even though I lreally liked it.

This list is actually pretty good. One change I would make is that I would put Mario Party 4 towards the very bottom because the boards are completely unplayable. Also putting 8 and Jamboree in the top 2 is amazing but I would swap them because I just can’t deny that there is no other Mario party with the quantity and quality of boards jamboree has.
Mario Party DS was my entry into the franchise/the one I grew up with so I may have some nostalgia bias but I do think it was unique by having the minigames and boards revolve around the fact the characters had been miniaturised (and also the fact it had some sort of story mode with boss fights)

Grew up with MP DS, such nostalgia from trying to cheese DK stone statue by getting 5 coin stars unlocked in final 5 frenzy and getting 50 stars at the end
I would have ranked Mario Party 9 much higher because I actually loved the car mechanic. Travelling together with the other players made the game feel like an adventure you were embarking on with friends; instead of just taking seperate journeys like the older mario party games.

although this lists opinions dont align with my own that much in the back half, i do have to say that #18-12 in my opinion were ordered perfectly. mario party 9 is fun and i would also place island tour around there purely on the amount of dumb fun i had with it. easily the best of the 3ds titles and does not deserve bottom 3 like most lists.

I remember buying it back in Middle School and played it about three times and haven't pucked it up since) Haven't played/ barely played tier: MP1, MP2, MP3, advanced, Top 100, Star Rush, Super Stars, and Jamboree.

The playable roster for that game should be all characters who have been playable in past games (excluding Koopa Kid, who has been replaced by Bowser Jr.) plus 2 new characters-Boom Boom and Chargin’ Chuck (both being unlockable). The hosts should be Yellow Toad and Wand Toady (replacing Kamek). You’re the first RUclipsr I ever saw that put 3 that low. MP3 is my favorite but I will say that I partially agree with what you said about the boards. A couple good ones but some are forgettable too. What makes it my favorite is everything else. I think it has by far the best items in any game and mini games are near the top too.

Putting SMP nearly at the bottom js really ignorant tbh. All the handheld games are way worse and Super is really innovative. It has so much different modes and content. If you didn’t like Mario Party, you had Partner Party. If you didn’t like Partner Party, you had Rhythm Kitchen. If you didn’t like Rhythm Kitchen, you had River Survival. And if you didn’t like River Survival, you can have fun with the 80 excellent minigames, and with Challenge Road, they’re more fun than ever. Also the character specific dice blocks added a lot of strategy and gave reason to pick characters. Speaking of characters, this character selection is amazing (Better than Jamboree since Diddy Kong is here). There is so much options to pick. Oh ye and Island Tour should be rock bottom ok bye :)
SMP was also a step in the right direction, if anyone disagree then they miss the car from party 9 and 10. Seriously fans need to appreciate SMP for bringing the franchise back,
15:19 I disagree with you. Mario party 1 is absolutely brutal. Now even though I grew up in the 90s I didn't get to play the first Mario party game when it first came out. I started with Mario party 2 which is a lot of fun and then I played Mario party 3 which I loved even more. Both those games are rented from Hollywood Video which I think was Blockbuster videos biggest competitor. Anyways I have played Mario party 1 thanks to switch online and I still think it's a fun game but oh my God it is brutal. When you lose a mini game you actually lose some coins. The winner of the mini game gains 15 coins while the other three players lose five coins each. That is so brutal. It makes it a lot harder to get Stars. And it does have some fun mini games but some of which like the crane game are improved dramatically in Mario party 2. I just think Mario party 1 is just too brutal to deserve to even be in the top 10. 2 and 3 are both better
8 is definitely a great game, I wouldn’t say it is the best because I’m not really a fan of the art style and also its over-reliance on motion controls, but it has some good minigames (for the most part) and the boards for the most part are also pretty good.

Recency bias is like the last thing that exists in the Mario Party community. For the last decade fans have hated every new Mario Party with a passion (me included) since Mario Party 9. 9 10 and super are dogwater I think we can finally take solace in mario party done right for the first time in a very very long time 🥹

I hate to see 9 and 10 so low down, I really like those games and think the car mechanic is really cool, and 9's boards are so unique as well with so many cool event spaces, but I do see why people hate them, as it's much more different than other mario parties. I think I like them a lot because they were my first mario parties and I got to look at them with an open mind, but oh well
Just a couple of thoughts I had while watch this video: #17: I can't defend this as a Mario Party, but I still think there's a fun, charming little Mario adventure here underneath the misbegotten application of Mario Party mechanics to a 90% single-player only experience. There's actually a de-Mario Party-ification patch out there for this game called Mario's Carnival Quest that I've heard very good things about. Perhaps you could give it a look sometime? #14/12: You say that Bowser Party made the boards in MP10 even blander than MP9's lineup, which is quite true, but I might have brought up the fact that you can't even play Bowser Party on every board back when you discussed MP10. #10: You really think ALL the boards from this game (minus Chilly Waters) are bland? At the very least, I'd say that Woody Woods and Waluigi's Island are fun, memorable boards. Additionally, I think MP3 deserves quite a bit of credit for its refinements of MP2's item system. #9: I have to disagree with MP1 being this high. The control stick spinning minigames were such a bad design choice that Nintendo had to settle a lawsuit by distributing gloves to people who had bought the game to stop them from tearing open their palms. In addition, can you REALLY call the board lineup of this game good when it inflicted Wario's Battle Canyon on the world? On a related note, I actually don't think that Luigi's Engine Room is that bad; it certainly allows for more player agency than most boards in its game, even if 20 coins to change the doors is a little much. One last thing: why did you use footage of Torpedo Targets in this segment? That minigame only appeared in MP2, not MP1. #7: Well, THIS was a surprising placement! Thinking about it objectively, though, MP2 does have some glaring faults, most notably that having just 1 item slot really does feel limiting nowadays. Also, Mecha-Marathon can go burn in Hell, right alongside Rakin' 'Em In. #1: I know that this is your list and that these things are subjective, but MP8 at #1 simply doesn't fit with your previous statement that boards make or break a Mario Party. Outside of the excellent Koopa's Tycoon Town (and even THAT board starts breaking down under the strain of 35+ turns), the boards are mostly pretty mid, especially King Boo's Haunted Hideaway, which has the coolest high concept ever, but doesn't execute it well at all. Still, I did enjoy my time with MP8 and your opinion on it is valid. That about does it for this one. I hope I didn't come across as too hostile here. I do enjoy your work and look forward to your videos, even if we clearly don't see eye to eye on this particular series we both enjoy. Bye for now!

I’ll always have a soft spot for Mario Party 9 since it was the first game in the series I played, but also just cause, even today, I love its visuals, extra modes, minigames, and music.
As for Jamboree, don’t think it’s quite as good as 2,3, or 6 for me, but I do think it’s easily the best game from the ND Cube era of Mario Party by a wide margin. There is still a lot that can be improved obviously, like I really wish they just focused on making boards the best they can be without focusing too heavily on side content, but as a whole, I’m pretty confident with the franchise moving forward. Good times indeed.
Also sorry but Island Tour is not better than Star Rush and Super.

I can't say I agree on Mario Party 5's placement. I grew up on the Nintendo 64 trilogy, wasn't a fan of the first game, loved 2, and absolutely adore 3. But as I've gotten older, I do prefer the GameCube ones, particularly 5, 6, and 7. And I loved the capsules in five, they make the overall game more chaotic and random, which I did really enjoy, and the capsules were a lot of fun. 5 also has some very iconic mini-games, love the story mode, the side modes, especially Card Party. It also brought in the iconic Red K. Kid, Green K. Kid, and Blue K. Kid, and we had the Star Spirits from Paper Mario as hosts.

To be honest though I actually am surprised it's the top of the list because I mean even though I love that game I'm not sure if I would put it at number one but here's the thing, it might still be my personal number one. Even though I grew up in the 90s and I loved playing Mario party 2 and 3 back in the day, and I also played Mario party 5 when it was new, all three of those games I rented from Hollywood Video. Mario party 8 was the first Mario party I bought and owned.
So I was 19 years old or at least turning 19 years old when Mario party 8 came out so despite the fact that Mario party came out during my young adulthood, it's easily the Mario party I played the most by far. Every board was so much fun although I didn't really ever play the donkey Kong board.
Now I get the irony in me almost never playing the donkey Kong board since the rules were more like classic Mario party and I know I would have enjoyed it but one of the friends I was playing with at the time basically had never played a Mario party game before and was just more into the remaining boards and didn't really care about the classic rules I guess. Not to mention the board itself just wasn't really as interesting.
While we all enjoyed playing all the other boards, we definitely played the koopa troopa tycoon city won the most by far. It was the most skill-based because he did have to be smart with how much of your coins you want to spend to by the Stars at the hotels
How is Super worse than 9, 10, Island Tour, *AND* Star Rush?! I just don't get the hate for Super, even with the small amount of content it had. It was great that we got a return to the classic Mario party formula, and that it got updated with online play. Even if the ally system was busted, Super was a much needed breath of fresh air.

Super Mario Party is NOT a bad Game! It's much better than Mario Party 9, 10, Star Rush, Top 100 and Island Tour. Don't forget: Super Mario Party was the first Mario Party, that the concept comes back from ND - Cube. The another Mario Party titles has a another concept like in 9 and 10 don't collect Stars from your coins, you collect Mini Stars and this was a bad idea. Like the ideas in Star Rush the idea to defeat a Boss for a star. Super Mario Party is NOT a bad Game. Btw: my favorit is Mario Party 8.

It's not a good game either. If you compare it to the Nintendo 64 and GameCube entries, it's at the bottom of the barrel. Even the weakest games 1 and 8 are better than Super. It wasn't a real return to form, it was more or less a half-step/baby step, which is infuriating given they should've known what fans wanted after years of slop. The boards all stunk and only having 4 was unacceptable. The mechanics were unbalanced, the economy was broken, coins were worthless, and you were forced to play the game with a single Joy-Con controller.

11:49 how could Mario party 9 have introduced boss fights? There's a boss battle at the end of Mario party 3. I skipped Mario party 4 but I do know there's a boss battle at the end of Mario party 5 against bowser. I played Mario party 6 demo at I think Toys r Us when that still existed, but I never actually had the game at home and I missed out on Mario party 7 however I do know Mario party 8 has a boss fight against Bowser at the end. Not to mention Mario party DS has a boss fight after every board you complete in the story mode.
I find myself defending Mario Party 1 sometimes but having that ahead of 3 is crazy. 3 has the best strategy in the whole series and I disagree strongly about the maps. I'm a big fan of Woody Woods and Waluigi's Island has so much fun stuff on it. Only map I'm not really a fan of is the desert map

The Mario Party 3 dis hurt a bit haha. I personally think the boards in that game are great. The fake star mechanic in Spiny Desert and the crevasse in Deep Blooper sea. IMO, MP3 has some of the best music in the series as well.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is the best Mario Party game for many reasons:
1. The largest roster of characters (22)
2. The largest amount of mini games (112)
3. Many side modes
4. Plenty of boards (5 new and 2 classics)
5. Replayability

I still think Mario Party 8 or 6 beats it, I'm only talking about 8 here because i didn't play much of 6, but Jamboree has 2 major flaws that would make it the best otherwise.
The roster, side modes, and boards (though i would say 6 and 8's boards are better), are really great.

First of all, the amount of minigames. It's not a lot, as if you have motion controls disabled you end up getting repeat minigames a LOT. Mario Party 8 reused minigames, and 6 had night mode minigames which felt like every minigame was fresh. The selection as well, Jamboree has a lot of quiz and mildly unbalanced minigames.

Second, the coins. this is probably the thing that holds back the party mode the most by far. All the issues you hear people talk about the game, it comes from the coins. The Lucky Spaces give you 5-20 coins and include an ally, even 30. It doesn't sound so bad until you realize that 15 coins is 5 TURNS OF BLUE SPACES. Meanwhile, Unlucky Spaces take 3-7 coins lol. Even the Event Spaces only take 5 when in previous games, they took 10 at minimum. The bullet bill event in Bowser's Keep is surrounded by lucky spaces and only take 5 coins for landing on them. Now why this is bad, is because it mainly centers the game around movement items and going to boo, In Rainbow Castle theres no way to lose alot of coins so you rack up so much if you get an ally a double steal would be as expensive as buying 1 star in the old games. Jamborees let you buy 2 stars for 40 coins, and another 2 if it spawns next to you. 4 stars just for the low cost of earning it back on a lucky space. Lucky Space are not the only issue, it's the way to dispense coins being lacking and Bonus Coin minigames giving a ton (abt 30 per minigame) as well. Example: On a 50 turn Mario Party 8 game, i never see anyone over 100 coins, meanwhile here getting 200 coins is common. Items are also too cheap, but if they fix those coin issues i could see a more item-based game would be nice

This list is actually pretty good. One change I would make is that I would put Mario Party 4 towards the very bottom because the boards are completely unplayable. Also putting 8 and Jamboree in the top 2 is amazing but I would swap them because I just can’t deny that there is no other Mario party with the quantity and quality of boards jamboree has.
My favorite is Mario Party DS. Happy that it got a good spot on the list
Mario Party DS was my entry into the franchise/the one I grew up with so I may have some nostalgia bias but I do think it was unique by having the minigames and boards revolve around the fact the characters had been miniaturised (and also the fact it had some sort of story mode with boss fights)

I would have ranked Mario Party 9 much higher because I actually loved the car mechanic. Travelling together with the other players made the game feel like an adventure you were embarking on with friends; instead of just taking seperate journeys like the older mario party games.

although this lists opinions dont align with my own that much in the back half, i do have to say that #18-12 in my opinion were ordered perfectly. mario party 9 is fun and i would also place island tour around there purely on the amount of dumb fun i had with it. easily the best of the 3ds titles and does not deserve bottom 3 like most lists.
Mario party 3 has creepy cavern, waluigi island, woody woods, and chilly waters. Only mid board is deep blooper. 10th is criminal

The playable roster for that game should be all characters who have been playable in past games (excluding Koopa Kid, who has been replaced by Bowser Jr.) plus 2 new characters-Boom Boom and Chargin’ Chuck (both being unlockable). The hosts should be Yellow Toad and Wand Toady (replacing Kamek). Imposter Bowser should return, but there should also be an Imposter Bowser Jr. The boards that should be in the game are:

You’re the first RUclipsr I ever saw that put 3 that low. MP3 is my favorite but I will say that I partially agree with what you said about the boards. A couple good ones but some are forgettable too. What makes it my favorite is everything else. I think it has by far the best items in any game and mini games are near the top too.

Putting SMP nearly at the bottom js really ignorant tbh. All the handheld games are way worse and Super is really innovative. It has so much different modes and content. If you didn’t like Mario Party, you had Partner Party. If you didn’t like Partner Party, you had Rhythm Kitchen. If you didn’t like Rhythm Kitchen, you had River Survival. And if you didn’t like River Survival, you can have fun with the 80 excellent minigames, and with Challenge Road, they’re more fun than ever.
Also the character specific dice blocks added a lot of strategy and gave reason to pick characters. Speaking of characters, this character selection is amazing (Better than Jamboree since Diddy Kong is here). There is so much options to pick.

15:19 I disagree with you. Mario party 1 is absolutely brutal. Now even though I grew up in the 90s I didn't get to play the first Mario party game when it first came out. I started with Mario party 2 which is a lot of fun and then I played Mario party 3 which I loved even more. Both those games are rented from Hollywood Video which I think was Blockbuster videos biggest competitor. Anyways I have played Mario party 1 thanks to switch online and I still think it's a fun game but oh my God it is brutal.
When you lose a mini game you actually lose some coins. The winner of the mini game gains 15 coins while the other three players lose five coins each. That is so brutal. It makes it a lot harder to get Stars.
And it does have some fun mini games but some of which like the crane game are improved dramatically in Mario party 2. I just think Mario party 1 is just too brutal to deserve to even be in the top 10. 2 and 3 are both better
8 is definitely a great game, I wouldn’t say it is the best because I’m not really a fan of the art style and also its over-reliance on motion controls, but it has some good minigames (for the most part) and the boards for the most part are also pretty good.

I hate to see 9 and 10 so low down, I really like those games and think the car mechanic is really cool, and 9's boards are so unique as well with so many cool event spaces, but I do see why people hate them, as it's much more different than other mario parties. I think I like them a lot because they were my first mario parties and I got to look at them with an open mind, but oh well
Just a couple of thoughts I had while watch this video:
#17: I can't defend this as a Mario Party, but I still think there's a fun, charming little Mario adventure here underneath the misbegotten application of Mario Party mechanics to a 90% single-player only experience. There's actually a de-Mario Party-ification patch out there for this game called Mario's Carnival Quest that I've heard very good things about. Perhaps you could give it a look sometime?
#14/12: You say that Bowser Party made the boards in MP10 even blander than MP9's lineup, which is quite true, but I might have brought up the fact that you can't even play Bowser Party on every board back when you discussed MP10.
#10: You really think ALL the boards from this game (minus Chilly Waters) are bland? At the very least, I'd say that Woody Woods and Waluigi's Island are fun, memorable boards. Additionally, I think MP3 deserves quite a bit of credit for its refinements of MP2's item system.
#9: I have to disagree with MP1 being this high. The control stick spinning minigames were such a bad design choice that Nintendo had to settle a lawsuit by distributing gloves to people who had bought the game to stop them from tearing open their palms. In addition, can you REALLY call the board lineup of this game good when it inflicted Wario's Battle Canyon on the world? On a related note, I actually don't think that Luigi's Engine Room is that bad; it certainly allows for more player agency than most boards in its game, even if 20 coins to change the doors is a little much. One last thing: why did you use footage of Torpedo Targets in this segment? That minigame only appeared in MP2, not MP1.
#7: Well, THIS was a surprising placement! Thinking about it objectively, though, MP2 does have some glaring faults, most notably that having just 1 item slot really does feel limiting nowadays. Also, Mecha-Marathon can go burn in Hell, right alongside Rakin' 'Em In.
#1: I know that this is your list and that these things are subjective, but MP8 at #1 simply doesn't fit with your previous statement that boards make or break a Mario Party. Outside of the excellent Koopa's Tycoon Town (and even THAT board starts breaking down under the strain of 35+ turns), the boards are mostly pretty mid, especially King Boo's Haunted Hideaway, which has the coolest high concept ever, but doesn't execute it well at all. Still, I did enjoy my time with MP8 and your opinion on it is valid.

Thsi is the second time I’ve seen someone hate on this game like bro it’s not that bad I’ve had so much fun with my family playing this and the boat mode is amazing no other Mario party does that like bro it’s a good game sheesh it hurts me to see you say it’s trash
Mario party 10 would be better if they removed the car mechanic. Trying to collect stars while bowser is chasing after you would have been awesome
mario party 10 is especially insulting because it hides traditional mario party behind a paywall with amiibos. and then the amiibo party had like no effort put into it, with gridlike boards, inflated economy, and no character animations.
Fair, Jamboree takes 1st just in front of Mario Party 2 for me though
