  • In that period between the Tour de France finishing and the "Super" Worlds Championships kicking off in Glasgow this year sat the Basque race, the Classica San Sebastian. For me, it's my local race, which I've always treated as a sign that my summer holiday is about to start. This year, though, the holiday got pushed back. While packing the car with camping equipment, I got a text from a friend in the know, "Dave, do you fancy interviewing Remco in San Sebastian tomorrow morning?" Well, you don't say no, do you?
    If you can help Remco's drive for the Red Cross Flanders head to the link below:

    Riders like Remco, Mathieu, Wout and Tadej make cycling exciting to watch. They may not win every time but they ride with their hearts.

    I must say my opinion of Remco has really changed, after seeing his RUclips and his interviews recently he seems to be a stand up guy really. Nice interview as always Dave

    I’m not saying Shoddy is the best; I’m just saying I don’t know anyone better. Great humble genuine guy! Chapeau!

    Remco is a natural born talent like pogacar , both love to ride the bike and have one strategie , attack is the best defence . This is why I also love Wout Van Aert ... Since his fall in that cliff he is changed a lot .
    Even he was more then 1 year out and is only 23 he managed to win more than 50 prof stages. He is on his way to becomme a legend if all goos well . If he had no COVID in the giro of 2023 he had a big chanse to win it. Even with COVID in his boddy he won the last TT in the Giro.... 👍

    Didn’t even know about your channel since I just recently got into the sport. There’s tons of channels that do interviews and news/speculation content, but I love how you do a lot of the technical side too since I’m lacking severely in that dept.

    Maybe not a legend yet. But on a good way to get there. Let‘s talk again in 10y 😉 but cool guy, much more nice in interviews (See interview with Lanterne Rouge) than expected. Hope the best for career, getting into ‚legend‘ status

      Fair enough! I'm using the "legends" title pretty loosely; the plan is to talk to some super people in the cycling world who live or hopefully will live up to it. - Dave

      @@VeloVeloVeloTV Sure thing! If you are going to use the word Legends "pretty loosely" for the title, you should also consider using words like Titans, Heroes or Messiahs. Go big or go home!

    Remco is a great rider, rainbow jersey and all. But a LEGEND? Nah. That's a couple levels up there, in a rare atmosphere where only Merxx, Coppi and very few others inhabit.

    • @santiagobenites
      @santiagobenites 8 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure who has been referring to him as a legend, but that's kind of silly as he's only 23. Legends are usually talked about after their careers are over.

      @@The_One-Eyed_Undertaker It's kind of a dumb title, isn't it? LOL

    • @The_One-Eyed_Undertaker
      @The_One-Eyed_Undertaker 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@santiagobenitesTotally dumb! In my book, for a rider to be elegible for consideration as a legend, he needs to win the Tour (toughest stage race), Roubaix (toughest day race) and the rainbow jersey. Once you hit that trifecta, we can start talking about legend status...

      @@The_One-Eyed_Undertaker To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the video title was Legends, but I agree with you 100%
