My first Harley was an '03 (i think) Dyna wide glide, whatever the last year of the wide glide having a 5 speed transmission, it had that same exhaust, pretty much the same bars, and forwards. It was my introduction into Harley, and a very comfy, heavy bike (after learning on a yamaha virago 1000). Nowadays no thanks on the bars or forwards 🤣
dope video. quick question. i have 14 inch bars on my fxdx. my speedometer harness length is fine but my vss wire is preventing me from raising the speedo any higher without stretching. any suggestions? would still like to take it on the road haha

A friend of mine has an 08 FXDB and the bike has a goofy top triple tree (welded on mini risers). That means he cannot put any other risers on the bike. Anyone know if he can swap only the upper tree without taking everything else apart ? At 8:40 Ryan removes only the top tree so I was wondering. Thanks !
Yes you can replace without touching anything else. FYI, there are a few companies that make t-bars for the built in risers. They bolt on to the original built in risers.
You guys need to make an adapter plate that bolts on to the top of those caps and let’s you bolt the gauges to the plate for dudes who wanna run gauges without those stupid clamp type mounts

@@jayi.4687 ive personally turned wrenches on every type of harley built since 1995. its inherently the worst designed bike in history. a vrod might look ugly but if it blows a singular engine mount it wont kill you. the street bikes again ugly to look at but built to a simple standard and so they are super reliable. the dyna is what happens when fans dictate a motorcycle. didnt want fxr's they were expensive to prodcue cause they required hands on welding and they weere labeled too japanese. Side note the bagger is an fxr with a 2 inch longer neck harley just put a massive ugly side cover over the triangle cause the frame design is too perfect to scrap entirley. fans wanted HD to be like there old 70's superglides so harley pulled all the support out of the frame and your left with a bike that has to have a special trasnmission just to run the swing arm through so your front end and spine of the bike are on one pivet and the motor and rear end are on another just waiting to bind and wobble. thats why these bikes are only good for doin slow speed lot stuntin.

I dont care about converting you i care about enlightening you as to the reasons behind my statement take a part your entire dyna and put it back together and tell me that frame, its geometry, and its design for stabilization are not absolutely insane. the dyna was the replacement for the FXR and holy shit is it just a lazy piss poor bike no way around it. They will never handle as well as sportsters even if you put in a couple high dollar mounts and stabilizers. Damn near every dyna needs front and rear suspension upgrades to even be rideable. Yes, just swap a different tree on top anything off the 49 mm super glide. We can get the trees if he calls the shop they’re not very expensive.
