Love this edit so much, a fantastic song mixed with some of the greatest scenes from the films. Including my personal favourites, Michael against the firefighters and Michael murdering the mob.
Such a great mashup of both song versions, though I will admit I prefer the 'chanting' part in the single version, you can hear the Latin clearer.

Funny because when I heard the song the first time around I thought that Ghost should have repeated the last section ("Hunt/Hunt/Hunter") more because it's such a fist pumping chant moment and you did extend it just like I wanted. Now it's perfect.

The single and the album version are the same. It's just that Tobias Forge was quite unhappy with the version he made for the film.

Solid music video but really highlights many of my problems with 2018 and Kills. They're just out of tone, they glorify Laurie in fairly stupid and illogical ways, they turned Michael into an action/comic character, both films are *incredibly* derivative of the original and even the rest of the sequels with very few original things in them (and what is original, the explosive house trap/apocalypse bunker, the mob mentality thing, I don't really like nor think is well done nor think has any real place in the Halloween series/setting, although they could have made the mob mentality theme work they just fucked it up), everything the redo from the older films is lesser than the original takes on them and they hugely diminish Loomis, lose all of the Halloween background that (yes even the original) the series was rooted in and they treat Michael not as the character from the original film but as 'that iconic slasher villain'.
Hmm, interesting points you've mentioned. It's nice to know some fans view it differently than I do.
But isn't this the Michael Myers that John Carpenter intended? Starts out human then slowly transcends to something supernatural?
Michael in Kills to me felt like he is THE boogeyman than 'that iconic slasher villain'... However, execution-wise, it still falls flat somehow. Flawed, but enjoyable.

No Michael isn’t THE bogeyman though, that’s the whole point. The original film has that Charlie from Russellville scene “every town has something like this happen”. The story parallels the traditional Samhain narrative pretty closely and the implication (down to the use of “the shape” in the credits - a term historically used to refer to returned spirits) is that Myers is one of the many evil spirits to return to the world of the living (Haddonfield) on Halloween night.
None of that is in 2018 or Kills.
On a more basic level, neither 2018 nor Kills have Michael behaving as he should, he’s not creeping around and stalking and screwing with people, he’s just going crazy with action movie sequences.

@@TheOmyllBernard I do really like that scene, although gotta be honest I didn’t realise the extent of the Samhain parallels in H1 until I read a quote from Debra Hill that talked about it, so I can’t take credit for it at all.
