Before you run to timing chains I had tht p0341 saying the camshaft my epic light was on and my engine I changed the camshaft still the same so what I did was change my oil apparently if you oil is too low or dirty it can cause the faulty signals without a check oil signal so try tht first plz
@@motorcarnut thank you for taking the time to make these vids! Currently having an issue w my 2.0tsi. Has a diesel sound at idle here and there. Sometimes will sometimes won’t. Drives fine but kind of chokes at super low rpm. Pcv is fine, I got a p0341 camshaft sensor code but still need to check that. If it’s not the sensor I’m thinking it’s the magnet, or vvt🤷♂️
@@motorcarnut I would have to check. The sound sometimes happens at idle. Sometimes doesn’t and it’s relatively quiet. I did get the p0341 code so I should try by changing the can sensor but when the noise happens I can hear it from the timing chain area. It’s never consistent which I don’t believe it is the chain but I am not sure
A stretched chain will give you cam codes and the noise will come and go as well. I literally have 6 VW’s right now all with timing chain failure so keep that in mind.
I have this error p0341, my car is a 2013 Jetta, when the car is hot it fails at low speeds and makes noise in the valve control part, if I disconnect the magnet, the noise and the failure disappear, could it be a problem with the magnet?😊
hi 👋 im currently having a issue in my passat 2012 model with exactly p0341 code. i just changed it timing set ,selenoid and the camshaft and crankshaft sensor and more ....in last month and its still having the code sometime .Moreover when i drive smoothly the engine run smoothly but when i need to pick-up my speed ,around 2000-3000 rpm the engine will jump or misfire???i dont know but i feel the engine twich while i speed up the engine
@Motorcarnut thank you. I recently started working on cars. I have 2012 volkswagen tiguan 2.0L with same code and not starting. It died while driving on the highway. Customer towed it my shop. There was no oil on dipstick. I put oil but no luck. Thinking should I even mess with it or pass on job.
Is it cranking smooth like no compression? Or is it normal cranking? Because those engines are notorious for timing chain tensioner failures that will give you that code. I have many videos on this vehicle,
My car jumped timing took to local Euro shop , did a scope said was dmg they put in a used engine nd a timing kit they supplied. . Pretty much ever since then it has had the p0341 code with rpm drop and stutter along with epc flashing . And when it's up to operational temperature and you turn the car off it dose not like to start . Now of the timing is still messed up now hoe dose it run and drive okay ??
Please try to reply man I been scratching my head for awhile with this car had people look at it idk .. thr shop all rdy fucked me outta alot of money no paper work with the used engine no nothing I don't even know how many miles is on the engine now . I still drive the car to this day it just some times has that stutter rpm drop epc flash please help .
Tengo este error p0341 y en caliente solo bien caliente se escucha el variador como que se descarga y se acomoda rápido . A veces tira epc o testigo presión aceite .
All the info I was looking for . Thanks for getting to the point so fast I had time to comment. 👍
Should no problem, that's what the channel is about. Thank you!

Absolutely, you always check the simple things first. But this video assumes you did.
Thanks dude appreciate you
No problem, thanks for the comment
Hello, I have two codes popping up. P0011 & P0341, what would you recommend?
I have videos that cover both of these problems check them out. Probably cam bridge , tensioner etc.
Do you have a video replacing the vvt on the 2.0 TSI? Thank you!
Not yet, but will be making one shortly

Was your timing chain tensioner ever replaced? If not, watch this:

Probably the oil control valve is broken. I have videos on that particular problem
I dismantled the magnet and noticed that the oil valve shaft is not out as you showed in your other video, the valve shaft is parallel and not out.
Cam bridge? check it have a video on that too.
I changed the sensor but it still throws up the light what do I do next ?

Can be many things like the oil control valve, cam bridge chain tensioner etc. I have videos on all of those.
@@motorcarnutany others because all these have been replaced 💆😂
Have you checked your spark plugs? Sometimes that can cause misfires as well as the same code
@dorianeusebio2394 true but on these engines it’s pretty common
@@dorianeusebio2394replaced already
Hello Sir. Greatly here appreciate you making this video. If there is oil in that sensor, can it make car not start?
Possibly or at least make the code come on.

@@motorcarnut yes. Sounds like no compression. Thank you
Yep, timing chain jumped a bent all of the intake valves, I bet.
would the crankshaft pop up the p0314 code as well?
You mean P0341? Possibly but on these engines it’s probably the timing chain tensioner or oil control s.
i reppaced the sensor but keeps happening any info and they car dose not like to start when hot
Car probably jumped timing. Have many videos on vw just check them out on my channel

@kywildcats941 no bring it back to get fixed the proper way before it gets worse
@kywildcats941 just responded
Thanks
No problem!
Hello, I have a 2014 jetta, in which city are you located?
New York for now
What was it ?
It's in the video
Tengo este error p0341 y en caliente solo bien caliente se escucha el variador como que se descarga y se acomoda rápido . A veces tira epc o testigo presión aceite . Por donde puedo buscar ? Tapa de cilindro nueva , puente nuevo distribución nueva
Timing is probably off due to tensioner failure. I have other videos to see if you have old or new tensioners
@@motorcarnut hola me hicieron hacer la tapa de cilindros nueva por rayas , levas nuevas , distribución nueva , cojinetes nuevos , balanceadores nuevos pero genéricos
Then can be oil control valve or cam bridge, I have videos on both
