#6. When traveling to Osaka, I recommend joining one of my meetup events. It’s a rare opportunity to meet and talk to locals in English.

Is Meet Up a thing in Japan? Sounds like a fun thing to do, especially for solo travelers.

Great information and thanks for sharing. I am traveling to Japan this August for ten days. I have a question for you, Should I buy a JR card?

I assume you mean the JR Pass? If so, you need to calculate how many times you will use it. I used mine to get from one major city to another. In my case that was Tokyo to Kanazawa, Kanazawa to Kyoto, Kyoto to Hiroshima and back, Kyoto to Osaka. I purchased mine before the price went up, so it might not be worth it now. What you may want to purchase is a Suica card for the subway and trains. You can also use it at convenience stores and other businesses. You can load as much cash on it as you'd like. It will definitely be useful for transit. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Where did u book the canal trip? Tks for your video on Osaka. Which hotel did u stay?

I used Viator.com to book the canal trip. I can't remember the company name...there are a few, but they all do the same thing, so I think you can take your pick. I stayed at Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka. It was nice with a good breakfast. I could walk to Osaka station from the hotel, which was great. Happy Travels!
