Sure, he imploded onstage during a stand-up routine (one time) and made some highly offensive comments, but he apologized. He hasn't done it since and he shouldn't be ostracized for this the rest of his life. Richand's is so talented and funny, he deserves a second chance. To state the obvious: can't help but notice that virtually all actresses ending their Hollywood careers is simply due to age, when the few parts they can get are "mommy parts", whereas male actors can continue getting big roles into their 60s and 70s (like Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, and so many others).
Most interesting, but how about mentioning the late great American actor and Academy award winning Henry Fonda of the Golden Age of Hollywood who won for his role as Norman Thayer in On Golden Pond?! Without him, the late Peter Fonda, not as talented as his Dad and Oscar winner Jane Fonda and Bridget wouldn't even exist!!

Katherine Heigl's best movies were " Love Comes Softly" and it's two sequals before she was in Grey's Anatomy IMO and while Grey's Anatomy was an entertaining show I don't think there was anything after those movies she did that matched them in quality
