Divine election is very Biblical. I'm not good, not better than anyone, but God's grace was bestowed in me. He could chosen a worse sinner, therefore I fear Him, and knowing Christ I love Him.
Wonderful sermon yes amen we must be born again we are dead in sins God has to quicken us and make us new again. And oh yes our children too we cannot do it we have to pray to the Lord only in his timetable.

Since Spurgeon was an Englishman, I can imagine him preaching this message - with deep conviction, in the power of God - with the petite accent of ROGER MOORE THE SAINT
Although I truly believe the Gospel is foolishness to the natural man,and that this lesson is at it's core correct,It also seems like a legal defense of Calvinism.John Calvin was also a mere man and capable of error on some things.

It’s really interesting that even in Spurgeon’s days Calvinism and the doctrines of grace were so looked down upon.
