The building just before the bridge at 34:50 is Darlington college when're those cars are parked is my mechanics garage where I'm studying we get a great view of the trains
+William Mankelow I do like the old swallow livery. I wish the sound hadn't messed up in this video! But this was made back when I was still just starting out on this channel :)
Excellent, cant wait to watch this. The Newcastle - York route is one of my faveroutes as its been around for years since the early Railworks days. Ive just bought the Armstrong Powerhouse lighting mod on your advice, its really good. Keep up the good work.
Awesome, I'm glad you like this route and the light mod! This route is the free updated version so it looks better than the original default. I also used the AP Valenta sound pack with the HST :) Thanks for the feedback.
Just as you come off the viaduct after Chester-le-Street, if you look on the right, that's the street that I live in. I'm actually quite suprised at the level of detail in this simulator.
Northallerton's plaforms are staggered because platform 2 (the North platform) used to be an island platform when both the Harrogate via Ripon (long disused) and the Northallerton-Garsdale (now Wensleydale Railway up to Redmire) lines used to converge at the station and thus it had significantly higher traffic than modern times.
Oops sorry. Just plugged in my headphones and sounds much better. Thanks for clarifying that. Can their sounds be installed to all versions of the HST?
dinger149 Thank you :) I'm currently using the AMD Radeon HD 6970. It's a good card but getting slightly old now. I'm planning to upgrade the whole PC later this year.
Bridge you crossed just outside Newcastle wasn't the Tyne Bridge, its the King Edward Bridge. The Tyne Bridge is the one that looks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Thank you for the great Tutorial. I've got this route but the Just Trains version. Can I apply this tutorial to it or do I have to download the DPS version.
+HM Kahn The speed limits and landmarks may be slightly different, but you can always give it a try. The DP Simulation version of this route is available for free however, should you want to try it out :)
+Synystershy I made this long before I made the Peterborough to York video. But if you look through my past videos, I've got the entire ECML from Kings Cross to Edinburgh covered in four separate videos.
one thing though! platform 9 your departure platform in ts 2015 is a continuation to the north of 12 which both are under cover ? when I tried to make a scenario for this route. DP or TS WHO IS RIGHT?
+PTGRail don't you think they should really add the class 185 they don't need to add a route with it we ready have the wcml over Shap liverpool to Manchester etc
I do not mean to bug you PTG, but I am currently making a route which extends the recently released South London Network for this game. You are welcome to visit my channel to see where this route goes. I will be expanding this route further in the future, and I was wondering, if you download workshop files, could you please support me and the route by uploading a video of you playing it when it is completed. I would be 110% grateful, and I have already recommended you to many of my friends. Please remember, I am not trying to advertise, I just require a bit of support.

Declan Merrick do u go there today, if you do i bet the trains distracted your working at first
That approach to Newcastle over the King Edward bridge has to be one of the finest station approaches of any railway journey in Europe.
Just had a watch of this again, good to see both the HST and class 91s in the Swallow livery, which is possibly my favorite of the BR days :-D

You never dissapoint my friend brilliant sound picture quality..more i say more 👍👍
Matthew Merrill Thank you! :)

This sim can be incredibly detailed, but not all routes have been created equal.

Please tell me, is this an old Sound Pack from AP? or is it from another third party website?
a great journey
lovley video keep up the good work
+Harry Stoner Thank you, I appreciate your comment :)
Oops sorry. Just plugged in my headphones and sounds much better. Thanks for clarifying that. Can their sounds be installed to all versions of the HST?
Slipstream Haha no problem :) Yes they can, and there are three different HST sound packs - Valenta, MTU and VP185 :)
PTGRail hi
On the steam store it dosent say northallerton is included
Does the modern pack add it? Thanks
dinger149 Thank you :) I'm currently using the AMD Radeon HD 6970. It's a good card but getting slightly old now. I'm planning to upgrade the whole PC later this year.
thank-you. sorry for the late reply. lets us know your upgrade which I plan also.
Wow I use the same
Must have been just the sound pack before we had the enhancement pack
Bridge you crossed just outside Newcastle wasn't the Tyne Bridge, its the King Edward Bridge. The Tyne Bridge is the one that looks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
You should get the AP valenta enhancement pack for the HST
This video was made before that, and he probably has it now
excellent informative video,my ask sir what video card you have installed?
I'm wondering why you can hear the external sounds inside the cab
BMWM3GTRLOVER I think it's a bug in train simulator.
cool video
+Cameron Bussy Thanks :)
intercity is awsome
great vid. what happens if you get all 3 HST sound packs. which sound will go to which?
+theenthusiast101 I think the MTU goes to the modern liveries, the Valenta goes to the older BR liveries and I'm not sure about the VP 185 lol :)
Thanks :) do you have the VP185 by any chance?
I imagine VP185 will only work if you have East Midlands livery, since I believe they are the only HST's with that engine.

+PTGRail That's great. Many thanks for that info. I will definitely download it and try it out.
Is your Peterborough to York in the Class 55 Deltic Loco the 1st half of the journey?
+Synystershy I made this long before I made the Peterborough to York video. But if you look through my past videos, I've got the entire ECML from Kings Cross to Edinburgh covered in four separate videos.
can you get Hull to Liverpool Lime Street on this simulator
one thing though! platform 9 your departure platform in ts 2015 is a continuation to the north of 12 which both are under cover ? when I tried to make a scenario for this route.
DP or TS WHO IS RIGHT?
pls give me the link for the electrified ECML route on steam
There is no link on steam. It is available on dpsimulation website. www.dpsimulation.org.uk
it is North Platte
+Michael Graham What do you mean?
Wow I'm at York (busy driving) and a class 47 has a green light but is just sitting there and I'm stuck in York ARGH
Appears that no matter what the 47 won't move :_(
+Railwork Roblox It could be a problem with the way the scenario has been created?
no is just quick drive but I fixed it I just changed the time of day
Why does it sound slightly like the 185?
Jordan Cheetham I can't hear the 185 sounds in this myself lol XD
+PTGRail don't you think they should really add the class 185 they don't need to add a route with it we ready have the wcml over Shap liverpool to Manchester etc
can a hst pull freight?
Theoretically it could, but I don't think it's ever been used for freight.
I guess it would depend on torque, fitted running gear etc.. be good to get a professional opinion.
You need the upgraded PV sounds by Armstrong Powerhouse. The default is awful IMO.
Slipstream I was using the Valenta sound pack from AP in this video.

Apologies for not noticing your comment sooner! Yes I'll happily help you any way I can :)
mtu are just glorified lorry engines
+garethkemp84 I much prefer the old Valenta engines! :p
