I couldn’t agree more about the bread bug and the swarming sheargrub. I love the idea of more enemies that are obstacles without directly being hostile to the pikmin and captains. That variety makes the game more interesting. It’s the same with elemental enemies.
I think elemental and "competitive obstacle" enemies are such unique challenges that only a game like Pikmin can offer, so they should lean into them some more!
The unused Pikmin 3 enemies, Kakureimo & Moguraimo which eat berries on the ground, & Pikmin 2's Whiskerpillars could return, since they're obstacle enemies that steal the spiderwort berries if not dealt with quickly enough, & they're not directly hostile to the Pikmin & captains. Heck, Kakureimo & Moguraimo run away if the captain & Pikmin get too close.
The closest thing that happened was in Pikmin 2 with the Waterwraith killing enemies on it's path, it would be interesting if that happens between more enemies
The Mamuta is an interesting enemy too, since it isn't a predator or a territorial creature, but an obstacle enemy that actually benefits the captains & the Pikmin (making then flowers instantly), instead of stealing treasures like Breadbugs, weighing down fruit like Swarming Sheargrubs or stealing bitter & spicy spiderwort berries like the Whiskerpillars (& unused Kakureimo & Moguraimo) do. The only problem is them trying to plant captains because they mistake them for Pikmin. Hopefully they add them in.
I want to extend this question a little bit, and propose; what enemy families would you like to see expanded upon in Pikmin 4? Personally, I'd like to see more of the Crawmad and Wollywog families, potentially getting a boss Wollywog! I think it would be cool to have a large wollywog start raging and stomping around like the Raging Long Legs, or stomp with its main body, and potentially have some other pards linger in the air for a second after only to fall down themselves and catch you off guard!
I think I'd love to see more Aerodentia family members (the phosbats), scarpanids (snitchbugs) and snavians (snagrets) in particular. And of course Grub-Dogs - we've got a new bulborb type at least each game, you know.
New enemies I'hope get new members: Blowhog: A Toxic Blowbog & an Icy Blowhog, since we now hopefully have the return of White Pikmin, & now have Ice Pikmin. Dweevil: A Frosty Dweevil Amprat: An albino Amprat which freezes Pikmin with icy fur it freezes by rubbing the fur with the snow, or a flaming Amprat (being black with orange eyes) with sets itself on fire with friction instead of creating static with friction. Wollywog: The Wollywog family gets it bad; it only has two members, the Yellow Wollywog & the original albino Wollywog, & yet the original albino Wollywog gets left out all the time. Adding the albino back would be nice, but also adding a Toxic Wollywog could work, because there are poison frogs in real life. It would make a challenge, because only White Pikmin can fight them, & they live in water, so you need to lure it out so the White Pikmin can kill it. Grubdog: The Grubdog family has only one Bulbear member & one non-boss Bulblax member, plus the Snow Bulborb from Pikmin 2 got forgotten about. They could rework that into the Snowy Bulborb, which could be immune to being frozen. Having a Poison Bulblax, Icy Bulblax or Eelectro Bulblax would be pretty interesting, too. A Snowy Bulbear would be cool. It's white with red spots, is fur covered like a Snow Bulborb, is immune to being frozen, & only appears in snow & icy areas, a lot like polar bears. Also, that freeze immunity makes them a scary enemy to fight. We have Breadbugs imitating Red-Spotted Bulborbs (as Dwarf Bulborbs), but haven't got Orange Dwarf Bulborbs. They could be like the Dwarf Bulborbs (awake & sniffing around), but are more sensitive like Orange Bulborbs. Also, Dwarf Bulborbs screaming to wake up nearby Bulborbs needs to return. It added a risk & a challenge. Snagret: A winged Snagret. It burrows at first, like the Burrowing Snagret, but just like the Pileated Snagret, it comes out, but can also fly temporarily & swoop down with the beak pointed down to try & burrow into the ground & grab Pikmin. It will be a boss enemy. I'm also hoping they'll bring back the berry eater enemies like Kakureimo & Moguraimo (unused Pikmin 3 enemies) & Whiskerpillars, the Bulbmin adults (if they bring back the Bulbmin), Mamuta, the Progg, Emperor Bulblax & that unused alternative version of the Whiptongue Bulborb that has a black face, but as an icy variation. A new enemy I'd like to see entirely in future is an enemy that imitates those pink plants that Winged Pikmin pull up to get items. The creature will be using its tail or its tongue to imitate the plants.
@@amandamakin1542 I'm not too keen on a winged Snagret, since that's somewhat what scornets are and idk how fun it would be to fight something that both flies and burrows, or how easy that would be to code. We are getting Baby Snagrets, so that's atleast something. I think that one enemy we see during the segment with the wall climbing could be a new member of the Blowhog Family, if not just a close relative. Snowy Bulborbs could easily return with the return of caves.
3:17 Speaking of variants, I’m surprised they never decided to make a “Toasted Breadbug”. Possibly it could have a hardened shell to prevent direct Pikmin damage, or its fiery and reds and only handle them as when the toasted breadbug snatches an item, that item burns (not destroyed or anything but more so just on fire), giving the less hostile enemy a more dangerous counterpart to account for.
@@Shadowonwater I didn’t even think of that! Items that only certain Pikmin can carry heh. Maybe some items are just inherently in a elemental effect, like an overclocked piece of machinery, too hot for most Pikmin to carry, or electrical coils that you need but yellows can only carry. Water and poison I see having special items too, maybe even a new element to tie in with this system!
If they do, which I hope they do, they better make sure that the enemies are used enough that we get to see most of these actions. No use putting in all of this hard work only to not see it!
It would also be awesome for some enemies to interact with each other. In the older games they feel more like minions with a mission rather than pieces of an ecosystem where prey is prey in any form.
Definitely want to see more enemy interaction. Also, please unleash the bulbears. And let them pray on other creatures. Imagine watching one hunt and eat a skitter leaf...
@@VantageEmblem vore Am jk lol. It would be very neat to see the ecosystem self interact instead of chilling next to each other waiting to fuck up some pikmin together. This also means there should be more enemies so you still have some left to fight
An enemy I think should return is mamuta.they always felt like there was some hidden lore behind them, and also smoky progg could return aswell, except with a nerf of course...yikes....
I hope idle pikmin don’t just attack an enemy when it gets close, I hope they will run away and possibly even hide in the plants. Maybe some would attack the enemy if it is smaller while some others would run away and hide. Edit: I also hope that pikmin that are burning would go to the nearest water source maybe a puddle or a river and dip their stem in it. I also hope blue pikmin would save drowning pikmin, I want that feature back. And I hope drowning pikmin would try to get to the nearest land mass.
@@VantageEmblem I also hope that pikmin that are burning would go to the nearest water source maybe a puddle or a river and dip their stem in it. I also hope blue pikmin would save drowning pikmin, I want that feature back. And I hope drowning pikmin would try to get to the nearest land mass.
Also, instead of just standing there doing nothing, maybe the pikmin can interact with each other in some way after being idle for a specific amount of time (maybe they sit down or chase each other around a bit or smth). Obviously, they can do things on their own. We see it in the end credit scenes and in some cut scenes as well.
@@rin9130 I'd love to see a lot of the curiosity, charm, and overall personality established in Hey! Pikmin and the short movies make it in to the game
I would love a type of enemy where when your Pikmin are carrying back the corpse to the ship, if the enemy and pikmin are off screen the enemy would come back to life and then start carrying the pikmin towards their 'ship' or nest (psuedo parasitic pikmin). Would surprise you when you check your map and your Pikmin have been brought towards a certain doom. Or false onions or something, so as to hint that other organisms have evolved along with the Pikmin and exercise mimicry just as in real life.
This is the kind of enemy that has to be done JUST right inorder to be fun and not just annoying, but if it is done right it could be a wild, magical, memorable encounter. I like it!
@@VantageEmblem And relatedly, it would be interesting to see them explore concepts where there are bulbmin or mutated pukmin enemies (a pikmin force without a leader working like ants)
i'm not sure.... letting things happen off screan is really important for the multi-tasking part of the game. There would have to be some sort of indication that that will happen with whatever enemy you killed to make it fair. It doesn't have to be a big sign, but it should be something.
@@Shadowonwater It has to be done in a way where the player can counteract it, and it has to be done fairly, but I think you're right, it can be done "off screen" so to speak, and this would add to the RTS elements of switching captains and watching out for your pikmin, especially if there's more verticality and you can leave a leader at a vantage point (hey that's me-) to observe what's going on and keep an eye out, or something to a similar effect. Like olimar in the short movies
That reminds me of the Eternal Cylinder having an enemy that does aggressive mimicry of the Trebhum called the Treghrum. There is an unused enemy in Pikmin 3 which does something similar, imitating a candypop bud. Throwing Pikmin into it gets them killed. It does true aggressive mimicry by disguising itself as something that would normally help Pikmin, but by doing that, it gets fed by captains who don't look carefully enough. A new enemy I'd like to see entirely in future is an enemy that does something similar, too; it imitates those pink plants that Winged Pikmin pull up to get items. The creature will be using its tail or its tongue to imitate the plants. So if those poor Winged Pikmin get caught on it, quickly save them by killing the creature that comes up to get them before they get eaten. As for normal mimicry, there is the Creeping Crysanthenum from Pikmin 2, an enemy I hope returns, where it mimics the margaret flowers, a background. You can tell it apart only by the flowers having eyes. If it has eyes, be wary of stomping on it, or this monster comes up to eat you & your Pikmin friends. And then there's the Desiccated Skitterleaf, which mimics a fallen brown leaf, & will quickly lunge at a nearby Pikmin if not spotted via the Koppad.
I hope we see the actual Armored Cannon Beetle, as cool as a variant would be. Maybe we’d get both, but I would take an HD version of the og any day. My top personal top pick would have to be the Emperor Bulblax, I really wanna see it in HD, with its mossy, rock-covered back, and whether it’s a boss, miniboss, whatever, I think it would look gorgeous and be really cool to see as a callback. I also think it’d be cool to see the Long Water Dumple as a regular enemy, just because more dangerous underwater enemies would be nice.
I LOVE these picks. Personally, the OG armored cannon beetle in HD is a dream boss of mine, especially with refreshed mechanics. I'd like to see an HD Emperor Bulblax - he'd probably end up being my favorite iteration of the guy in the series, especially with modernized and dynamic attacks. Long Water Dumple could be really cool given the new perspective too - imagine him rising out of the sea
I've thought about the bulbmin. Bulbmin have resistance to all 3 elements but are only found in caves. Why not make them afraid of light? Pikmin 3 had you use yellows as wires to turn lights on, so why not combine the ideas. Only allow yellows in a cave, hide a path in darkness and put water along the path. Light will reveal the path but it will be uncrossible with the yellows. Turn off the light and cross with bulbmin.
I agree with most of your opinions, but I feel like elemental enemies should either just be more difficult, but not impossible, to kill with certain pikmin types, or the ones that absolutely require other pikmin types should be reasonably killable with a smaller number of pikmin (you usually will not have more than 20 red pikmin when a fiery bulblax comes around in pikmin 2). Also I hope that pikmin 4 is designed with deathless runs in mind, like pikmin 3 was. Crumbugs could be cool too, as long as Pikmin don't die when they touch their backs.
I VERY NEARLY included these guys in the list and then again in honorable mentions, but the video was getting a little long. That being said DEFINITELY, they'd be the dwarf red bulborb to the wollywog, and I imagine they could kill enemies at a rate more similar to the Pikmin 3 wollywog with regular wollywogs killing at a rate closer to Pikmin 2
I got to absolutely agree with you on having more elemental diversity, it would balance the colors out a little more, and it could make Pikmin such as Yellows and Whites a little bit more relevant for combat.
I honestly love hey pikmin, and I think that pikmin 4 will use some of the verticality present in hey pikmin. I think that a lot of the enemy variants were really cool and deserve more attention.
Fair and valid! I'd love to see a lot of the great designs from Hey! make it into the main series. They'd be so memorable and probably could interact with certain Pikmin types in interesting new ways such as the purples and whites and any entirely new types, etc
It really does, outside of maybe Pikmin 2. That being said, while I find a ton of the enemies in 2 frustrating, I always found Hey! Pikmin’s enemies to be clever and unique
The Armored Cannon Beetle could be fun. I actually thought of a variant that gives it tank treads. I'd personally love more mechanical variants of enemies.
The man at legs should get missles or something too. I wanna see the crawbster, bloysters, and water wraith return. Also the elements need to be more dangerous again, such as instant death electrocutions, faster poison fire and water deaths and so on
I’m right there with you. I love 3, but even with the new difficulty options introduced in deluxe it’s way too easy, maybe even at the expense of a lot of the cool factor of 2’s more dangerous parts
I want the watery blowhog, I was so upset in pikmin 3 that there was only like 2 in the whole game. And anode beetles, they were so fun to knock upside down in pikmin 2 (plus I loved the sound effect when they did it as well)
I think anode beetles would be a lot of fun with rock Pikmin. Even if they were insta-kill, I'd love using them on those guys. They'd be really fun in a game with lock on in general. Also, watery blowhogs are amazing and I want more of them. More blowhog variants in general. Sad we didn't get that bubble blowhog variant.
The Puffstool could be reinvented by having them blow themselves back up during the day of it's defeat, instead of immediately dying it would only be killable by taking it to a Onion when above ground and the Research Pod/SPERO when underground When it revives itself it will infect any buried Pikmin which will uproot themselves and go to it's side which will limit your number of Pikmin and protect it repeatedly with each cycle it reinfects them until it's brought back to a Onion or the Research Pod/SPERO.
I've gained that knowledge from years of playing games on the various Nintendo Consoles I've obtained throughout my years growing up. Bosses like the Puffstool is easily a laughing stalk as it can be easily avoided since it's only way of defending itself is by taking your Pikmin away from you.
Good ideas man! I would love to see the return of poison enemies but not like the fartbug and dwevil of the 2's but really intimidating ones like the smoky progg of 1's
The Fiery Bulblax reminded me of what custom enemies I made when bored in school. Some examples are Raging Bulbear Autumn Skitter Leaf Golden Breadbug Starry Bulbear (Mini Boss) Mechanized Bulblax (Boss) Chimera Blowhog (Boss)
well since the Direct, we do know of some more returning enemies other then the Bulborb and Spectralids, as we got the return of the Dwarf Bulborb, Yellow Wollywog, Joustmite, Wogpole, Fiery Blowhog, Sheargrubs, Bulborb Larva and Empress Bulblax but there are some other enemies/bosses I do want to see return: Burrowing Snagret (this boss has been in all mainline games so obviously, plus it's getting a new baby enemy), Emperor Bulblax, Armored Cannon Beetle (I do wanna see this guy return), Toady Bloyster, Ranging Bloyster, Segmented Crawbster, Mockiwi, Water Dumple, Skitter Leaf, Bearded Amprat, Spotty Bulbear, Wollywog (As caves are back), Fiery Bulblax & Fiery Dwarf Bulblax, Bulbmin (please) and Puffy Blowhog
The Gatling Groink is a bad enemy that should stay cut But elemental variants would be very welcomed, or even making an explosion resistant Pikmin type would make regular gattling Groinks bearable to exist
I think an explosion resistant Pikmin type would make the gatling groink especially bearable. It's one of the reasons I really like the fireflinger groink - it's a gatling groink but potentially with a clear counter this time, the red Pikmin, though I don't remember if it works that way entirely in hey!
@@VantageEmblem Yeah, the protective shield on the front of the Groink, the fast turning and shaking-off-the-pikmin speeds, no actual Pikmin types to counterattack it and the fact that it doesn't actually die make it a very cheap difficulty spike in a game full of those Purple Pikmin and Bitter Sprays or punching at it for an hour with the captains are the only way I fight those things, and it isn't fun
Another interesting concept for the challenge modes would be the Stuffed Bellbloom from Hey! Pikmin. This could easily be like a moving, riskier version of the standard pile of nuggets for harder levels. They have devastating potential, considering that their large bodies can crush pikmin.
I'd LOVE to see those chunky guys return! And you're absolutely right, they'd be amazing in challenge modes (the main story too!) They'd be just like a dangerous version of the glint beetle from Pikmin 2.
I'd LOVE an optional area, but I just don't know if Nintendo will do it But it's been in development for ten years, there's a chance there's so much content, but there's a chance that there's not much content at all. The suspense is killing me, haha
about your idea on skitter leaf variants, I think it would be cool to have different leaf variants, such as maple or popler maybe they can live in trees as verticality seems to be a thing in 4
I’m glad you included Hey! Pikmin enemies on the list; while the game is mechanically a far cry from the mainline games, it does have some interesting enemies that could be exciting to see out of the side-scroller / platforming set-up-the Spornet would be my pick, where it can drop occasional elemental hazards (not just a blob of poison), and its height off the ground can change. 😊
I'd absolutely LOVE if Hey! Pikmin enemies made the lift into the main series. The Spornet could be a TON of fun from the new behind the back camera angle too!
I mean the animations for the pikmin and bad guys and stuff sucks so ima come up with my own bulborb: charges at pikmin if touches any dwarf bulborb same with the bulbear but more ferocious and why I want this is kinda like how a bird portects their eggs from other bird but here it’s a red mushroom looking thing and small clones of it firey blow hog: it fires attack at the player more pig like for starters it crashes down once you go to a slippery area or a place where there is obstacles and the Firey blowhogs or water fight for the player and pikmin burrowing snarget: it burrows around into this next one ok so it burrows down right you can see the dirt go up a little bit but it’s small like really small so you can never see his opening attack and also for the other attack he try’s to strangle the player and swallow up them off the floor the way to avoid it is to throw pikmin onto the neck and if he almost strangles you and charges for his swallow attack throw a rock pikmin in his mouth and he will choke same with rock pikmin but he throws it up and it’s not active anymore that’s it for now I really want to see these in pikmin 4 toodoloo
Really shocked that the Elongated Crushblat from Hey Pikmin didn't make the list, that thing is so cool! I really hope Groinks return man, they're so interesting! Overall I just hope Pikmin 4 gives us more wild and insane enemies like the Groinks and Man-At-Legs than the more, boring ones 3 gave us
As someone who never got to experience pikmin one but was the type pf kid to spend hours on wikis or watching gale wildlife vids I want the adult cannon beetle reimagined in hd back please Edit: somehow didnt even realise breadbugs (outside the fake bulborbs) were not in pikmin 3....how the hell- Edit edit: while at it i love easter egg creatures so smoky prog and the ujadani would be much welcome, especially in the case of having a model more than 4 pixels wide for the latter ahah
Cannon Beetle HD would be a dream come true. Also, because they weren't in 3 nor the short movies and only crumbugs were in Hey! Pikmin we never got HD breadbugs so HD BREADBUGS PLEASE. Also also I'd love to see more easter egg creatures too.
it would be awesome if some of the pikmin adventure enemies get ported to the main series. obviously they wouldn't have the mechanical look, but the concept for a boss wollywog was so fun to fight in that game and it would fit in so well.
Personally, if it were up to me I agree with your picks for Pikmin 1, but I’d throw the regular Wollywogs in there, I miss those guys Pikmin 2, I also agree with the picks, One of the creatures I’d add is the Ravenous Whiskipillar, it is so funny watching them shake around while Pikmin carry them Pikmin 3, Same picks “Aside from the Desicated Skitterleaves, those things are evil” I liked the Skutterchucks and the Bug Eyed Crawmad As for Hey Pikmin; One of these days I’m really hoping they add areas that are almost completely underwater, I really enjoyed a ton of the creativity of aquatic creatures in that game. Puckering Blinow, Sputtlefish, Waddlepus, Eyestalker Bubeels, Starnacles, Splurchins, I’d love to expansion of aquatic creatures. With the Long Water Dumple “Probably needs a better name” making a perfect mini boss for that kind of area … Also Mockiwis, I love those derpy birds and would love to see them make a jump to the switch, their so goofy
Whilst Hey! Pikmin itself isn't the best pikmin at all. It has an incredible amount of fan service and interesting new creatures that need to being Pikmin 4!
Oh yeah - if hey! Pikmin’s amazing enemies made it into Pikmin 4, I’d say the game was an essential stepping stone if nothing else. We’ll see if that’s the case!
In Pikmin 4, I hope we can have up to 300-400 Pikmin on the field so we can have Red Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, Winged Pikmin, Rock Pikmin, Purple Pikmin, White Pikmin, Green Pikmin, Brown Pikmin, Orange Pikmin, Mushroom Pikmin, and Bulbmin. The playable characters will likely be Alph, Brittany, Charlie, Olimar, and either the President or a new character.
I wonder how big the scope of this game will be? I'd love to see it get to such a grand scale, but I also worry if management will be too much. Perhaps, if this is the case, we'll be getting some great new mechanics to facilitate gameplay with this much going on... (Perhaps I even have a video about a concept like this already recorded and coming soon-)
Personally I’d love to see the Jellyfloats and wandering bulbmin return, I’m aware pikmin 3 had an enemy like the Jellyfloats but I loved the look of the Jellyfloats so much more than what we had in Pikmin 3, then the return of the wandering Bulbmin would bring regular Bulmin back as well which are some of my favorite of the pikmin, and I also totally agree that we should have more elemental enemies, and that if the puffstool returned that’d be awesome, maybe if the Puffmin or as I call them Mushroom pikmin actually did return and could be peaceful then that would introduce some interesting tactics, because maybe until the puffstool is dead then your mushroom pikmin would be aggressive towards you but would stay as mushroom pikmin after the puffstool was dead and they could take on unique new abilities after transforming
Puffstools or a varient of them transforming your pikmin into a new type under their command but playable after their death (like with bulbmin) is SUCH a cool idea. Also, Jellyfloats >>>>>> Medusal Slurkers imo
Imagine a baguette version of the bread bug. It could be called baguette bug (not very creative I know but I wouldn’t say bread bug is a very creative name either)
I never truly realized just how crucial the enemies of the Pikmin games are to the unique regions throughout, the level design throughout these games is just so crucial, I am super excited to see what Pikmin 4 does with it, I just hope that they have a few challenging rivaling that of Pikmin 2, with creative implementations of elements and whatnot. I feel Titan Dweevil and Plasm Wraith are some of the most fun bosses throughout the franchise because of that aspect, which is especially prevalent in the unique (albeit sometimes frustrating) scenario the submerged castle provides. TL;DR Neat video, I feel like Pikmin often steal the spotlight for returning features when it comes to Pikmin 4 speculation, I am stoked to see what the new release utilizes in regards to the elemental mechanics from the older games.
If they confirm the return of the caves I hope the Bulbmins return as well, I guess they will be exclusive from the caves again because they are OP but I hope at least they appear more often or at least you can keep their numbers... I don't know... What if night mode is the only mode that we can see the parasitic Pikmin's true form? It would be awesome
I wholeheartedly agree with the Pikmin 3 section. They were just done so dirty. Like you said, there's tons of amazing content in there but it's tucked away from the player. Skutterchucks are also a great idea but underwhelming in practice. I wish they get reworked to be less meandering and more aggressive. The Cuttlefish too. It can regen but that's a very pointless ability when they're so easy to eliminate.
@VantageEmblem Something really cool I thought about but would be unlikely would be if they added optional difficulty sliders like in Hades. You can add additional "conditions" or difficulty setting that do stuff like increase enemy damage, or mov + atk speed, or higher health, or stuff like increasing environmental damage, receiving less field rewards (like maybe less Pikmin per corpse) but for each conditions you get a slight boost of additional meta progression rewards, encouraging you to push yourself a bit.
I like this video good job I came here because of the new trailer drop yesterday man the fact that they brought back the empress bulbkax I think that's how you spell her name It really gives me hope that I have a feeling that this is going to be the ultimate that they going to bring back all the and please bring back to titan dweevil
You know, given the ice pikmin and most likely the ice hazard. An adult Arctic cannon beetle with the ice hazard instead of fire is really cool! No pun intended.
This video aged like fine wine because most of pikmin 1 and 2 enemies are coming back even the man at legs that was shown for a second in one the trailers
I want 4 to be a treasure hunter (the clock in the trailer kinda hints it) so we have caves back and get a lot of enemies from 1 and 2 in them. I feel caves are a good way to introduce more dangerous enemies or ones with unique gimmicks/abilities than having them limited to a few locations on an overworld map
Whether or not Pikmin 4 has caves in it is a toss up, but I'm thinking if they're back they'll be greatly, greatly reworked from 2. That being said, I'm not really expecting them to be back at all tbh :/
@@VantageEmblem if we get a treasure focused game there's a good chance I personally don't think they'll copy the gimmick of 3 to collect items within a time limit.
@@zacharyweaver276 To be fair, Pikmin 1 also had a time limit, and a stricter one at that. I think, either way, it's a toss up, but I'd love to be treasure hunting again, that's for sure
@@VantageEmblem Yeah unless that clock is a special treasure (which I doubt since usually those are in bosses) I'm thinking the game has some kind of treasure hunting aspect. If they do add caves it let's them add more puzzles on the overworld map to reach them. Along with being able to isolate unique encounters
@@zacharyweaver276 Definitely could be the case! I'd love to see a treasure hunting aspect of some sort, as i said, so I'd be SO excited if we returned to that premise. And hey, Hey! Pikmin did the same thing!
yknow after re playing pikmin 2, i think id honestly like man at legs to return; especially with them bringing back dungeons in 4 im hoping to see some more returning bosses
I was totally with you, all the way, I liked your choices and your thoughts and then.... You're talking about the skinner leaf and talk about a big room of them being squashed, and what Pikmin do you choose for the squashing? ROCK PIKMIN? My friend, there is only 1 Pikmin type that does real squashing, they're big, they're beautiful, they're round and they are indeed PURPLE. no sharp edges, I'd go as far as to say rock pikmin are UUUUUUGLLLY and they certainly don't squash like my bouncy bubbly burples. 10 x the power, 10 x the belly, 10 x the love, 10 x the squash. Purples > Rock anyday do better but also keep it up, nice vid. Talking of purples and enemy types, my friend where the ever loving absolute fuck is the water wraith? how is this guy not on your list? they could even change him to be an elemental type, maybe if purples aren't in the game you can only kill it with blues, or if purples are in it, which considering the new images looks to be the case, they could still stun it, but not make it solid like it did in pikmin 2, stun it but still make you kill it with blues, or fuck all that because its already a pikmin specific fight anyway. This must be one of the most iconic bosses of the series, the whole dungeon in so fun and so intense, its difficult, its extremely pikmin specific and it even put a time limit element to each level of the hole, the water wraith was fucking glorious, this is a sin. man misses the water wraith but ends on a Groink wtf
TO BE FAIR! I didn't put the water wraith on this list intentionally, since I think there's almost a guarantee we get a new wraith given Pikmin 3 had one as a final boss. Also FORGIVE ME FOR MY PURPLE SINS. ALSO ALSO were skitter leaf groups large like that when purples were still a more major player in development? No idea.
@@VantageEmblem Ok fair point, a new wraith would be pretty cool, i'm all for that they were about in Pikmin 2 but not really in groups, but i've had alot of fun squashing things with purples in OTT P2 mods, actually I remember towards the endgame, might be the dream den? there's a level just full of dwarf bulborbs and 2 groinks, i love going around throwing purples almost aimlessly squashing everything in that room, though unless they're gonna up the difficulty I can't see them needing purples as strong as they were. also the lack of Emperor Bulblax in 3 is disturbing and though it may be a boring choice, I always loved the raging long legs, easy fight but 1 wrong move and you've lost most of your pikmin, it was just an epic and fun fight.
i just wish that pikmin 4 feels less like a game, like it would be cool to see some of the piklopedia entries play out in real time, maybe with the new perspective you could see a beady long legs in the trees, or some male sheargrubs fighting eachother yknow?
I definitely get ya. The piklopedia as a well animated nature documentary sounds wild, though that may unfortunately be too expensive to make. We will see, though!
The 3 I want the most from Pikmin 1 are 1st Breadbug 2nd Smoky Progg 3rd.... I don't really know for 3rd. I'm between Emporer Bulblax, Mamuta, Pearly Clamclamp, Wogpole, Water Dumple, and Iridescent Flint Beetle. And please use the Pikmin 3 design for Iridescent Flint Beetle. Pikmin 2 1st Giant Breadbug 2nd Gatling Groink 3rd Careeing Dirigibug. Pikmin 3 has so many good enemies like Phosbat, Calciflied Crushblat, and the bosses. Hey Pikmin 1st Crumbug 2nd Mockiwi 3rd some like the final boss.
Curious if you can make a video on new items you'd like to see and new locations you'd like to see. It would be nice to have underwater areas that you can explore. I also like certain foods for Pikmin like human food. Curious what new Pikmin you'd want also like having Pikmin who age would be interesting and older Pikmin are smarter
The most reacent trailer has all and more WE HAVE MAN IT LEGS WE HAVE ARMORED CANNON BEETLE ITS ALL HER...almsot I haven't seen much BREADBUG in the trailers :(
Same, same, same. It really needs to be a game that wows us considering how long we waited. If it's just "an average Pikmin game with a new perspective," well, I'll be pretty disappointed (if only because of how long we had to wait.) Then again, if it's just "an average Pikmin game" it will still be one of the best games ever, so what am I even saying, haha.
WELL MY FRIEND YOUR IN LUCK ( they brought back the armored and artic cannon Beatles idk if man at legs is ur fav but they added that also they brought back oh puff stool and a poisonous puff stool oh they brought back the most annoying enemy SMOKEY PROGG
I want to see enemies fighting/eating each other to make the ecosystem of PNF-404 seem even more realistic and in depth.
This is something I’d LOVE to see from Pikmin 4, especially if it leans into the action adventure style of gameplay
Imagine getting swarmed by a bunch of bugs when a giant Bulblorp comes out of the nowhere and gives you time to escape
Ngl, that would be sick!
@@KingGoji54 Definitely!
The closest thing that happened was in Pikmin 2 with the Waterwraith killing enemies on it's path, it would be interesting if that happens between more enemies
I want Mamuta to come back since they have such an awesome air of mystery tied to them and their relation to the Pikmin.
Definitely agreed. Everything from their slight benevolence to their arm markings matching the onions to their strangely humanlike bodies
2 words, Queen Breadbug
@@UphillBridge Two words absolutely read and accepted, heh
New enemies I'hope get new members:
Blowhog: A Toxic Blowbog & an Icy Blowhog, since we now hopefully have the return of White Pikmin, & now have Ice Pikmin.
Dweevil: A Frosty Dweevil
Amprat: An albino Amprat which freezes Pikmin with icy fur it freezes by rubbing the fur with the snow, or a flaming Amprat (being black with orange eyes) with sets itself on fire with friction instead of creating static with friction.
This could be a really fun varient that fixes the breadbug problem of just stomping them/overpowering them with purples haha
cool idea! and you can only use red pikmin to carry on item on fire
3:25 Consider, Empress Breadbug. It looks like the Empress Bulborb, but it’s a baguette.
I'd go CRAZY for this idea, haha
@@VantageEmblem and instead of bulborb larvae, it makes Crumbugs!!
@@simonsonian8977 I'd LOVE that
I hope they update the enemies to have more possible actions.
@@VantageEmblem the single bulbear in the Pikmin 3 story mode 😭
Definitely want to see more enemy interaction.
Also, please unleash the bulbears.
And let them pray on other creatures. Imagine watching one hunt and eat a skitter leaf...
@@VantageEmblem vore
Am jk lol.
I'd definitely be so down to see these guys come back!
I think it all depends on how they program Pikmin idle AI, and that's something I've got NO idea about
We'll see!
@@thedoglovinggamer5825 I love the idea of Pikmin having good AI and thinking for themselves while also being firmly under your command.
I really want to see the other two beetle larvae get adult forms, too (the Decorated & Arctic ones)
That's SUCH a good way to nerf bulbmin! Great idea :)
I'm right there with you on all of these points!
Deathless runs in mind? Pikmin 3 was way too easy
My moat wanted enemy to show up is Young Wollywog from Hey Pikmin. It could squish just one or a few Pikmin
One thing I want back: the smokey prog. It's the only poison hazard in Pikmin 1, and I wanna deal with it with White Pikmin!
I would LOVE to see it
I got to absolutely agree with you on having more elemental diversity, it would balance the colors out a little more, and it could make Pikmin such as Yellows and Whites a little bit more relevant for combat.
Absolutely- especially if we have 7-10 Pikmin types now, it gives them all a unique role
I’ve played Pikmin 3 so many times and I never even knew swarming sheargrubs latch on to your fruit or eat nectar… mind blown
It's a rather buried behavior just because of how they're placed
I honestly love hey pikmin, and I think that pikmin 4 will use some of the verticality present in hey pikmin. I think that a lot of the enemy variants were really cool and deserve more attention.
Fair and valid! I'd love to see a lot of the great designs from Hey! make it into the main series. They'd be so memorable and probably could interact with certain Pikmin types in interesting new ways such as the purples and whites and any entirely new types, etc
Straight up, Hey Pikmin has the coolest variety of enemies in the series
It really does, outside of maybe Pikmin 2. That being said, while I find a ton of the enemies in 2 frustrating, I always found Hey! Pikmin’s enemies to be clever and unique
You like Pikmin? Look up the youtube video "Pikmin Hybrids".
The Armored Cannon Beetle could be fun. I actually thought of a variant that gives it tank treads. I'd personally love more mechanical variants of enemies.
Tank + Man At Legs + Armored Cannon Beetle? Now you're speaking my language-
The man at legs should get missles or something too.
Thankyou for the massive shoutout, i forgot to mention groinks in my video!!
Thank you for making an excellent video that covered the basics so well that I got to make this one!
The Puffstool could be reinvented by having them blow themselves back up during the day of it's defeat, instead of immediately dying it would only be killable by taking it to a Onion when above ground and the Research Pod/SPERO when underground
When it revives itself it will infect any buried Pikmin which will uproot themselves and go to it's side which will limit your number of Pikmin and protect it repeatedly with each cycle it reinfects them until it's brought back to a Onion or the Research Pod/SPERO.
THIS IS AMAZING, I love this idea
I've gained that knowledge from years of playing games on the various Nintendo Consoles I've obtained throughout my years growing up.
Bosses like the Puffstool is easily a laughing stalk as it can be easily avoided since it's only way of defending itself is by taking your Pikmin away from you.
@@PixelSlasher3790 Definitely - skilled players just avoid its attacks, it's only strong against first time players
Good ideas man! I would love to see the return of poison enemies but not like the fartbug and dwevil of the 2's but really intimidating ones like the smoky progg of 1's
Fair! I want to see poison really come back and into its own as a hazard tbh
I want the Gatling Groink back. It’s a scary enemy and I love that about it.
It’s a VERY dangerous and destructive foe
The Fiery Bulblax reminded me of what custom enemies I made when bored in school.
Some examples are
Raging Bulbear
Autumn Skitter Leaf
Golden Breadbug
Starry Bulbear (Mini Boss)
Mechanized Bulblax (Boss)
Chimera Blowhog (Boss)
I’d love to see all of these, specifically the mechanized bulblax and golden breadbug
We need a cheese bug!
They could attract other enemies because of their smell and run really fast
the best pikmin channel
Thank you so much for watching :)
It's strange. But i want electricity to be insta death for Pikmin again. It gave yellows a major use since they were immune to it
If not instant death, at least somewhat lethal on harder difficulties.
Most of the enimies that you wanted did come back! The ones that didn't had other varients instead (no hey pikmin enemies tho)
well since the Direct, we do know of some more returning enemies other then the Bulborb and Spectralids, as we got the return of the Dwarf Bulborb, Yellow Wollywog, Joustmite, Wogpole, Fiery Blowhog, Sheargrubs, Bulborb Larva and Empress Bulblax
but there are some other enemies/bosses I do want to see return: Burrowing Snagret (this boss has been in all mainline games so obviously, plus it's getting a new baby enemy), Emperor Bulblax, Armored Cannon Beetle (I do wanna see this guy return), Toady Bloyster, Ranging Bloyster, Segmented Crawbster, Mockiwi, Water Dumple, Skitter Leaf, Bearded Amprat, Spotty Bulbear, Wollywog (As caves are back), Fiery Bulblax & Fiery Dwarf Bulblax, Bulbmin (please) and Puffy Blowhog
I've heard people say skutterchucks and skitterleaves were also spotted, but I've yet to see them myself
The Gatling Groink is a bad enemy that should stay cut
But elemental variants would be very welcomed, or even making an explosion resistant Pikmin type would make regular gattling Groinks bearable to exist
I think an explosion resistant Pikmin type would make the gatling groink especially bearable. It's one of the reasons I really like the fireflinger groink - it's a gatling groink but potentially with a clear counter this time, the red Pikmin, though I don't remember if it works that way entirely in hey!
@@VantageEmblem Yeah, the protective shield on the front of the Groink, the fast turning and shaking-off-the-pikmin speeds, no actual Pikmin types to counterattack it and the fact that it doesn't actually die make it a very cheap difficulty spike in a game full of those
Purple Pikmin and Bitter Sprays or punching at it for an hour with the captains are the only way I fight those things, and it isn't fun
Funny how half of these enemies made into pikmin 4
Gatling Groink and breadbugs are a must return for me
Another interesting concept for the challenge modes would be the Stuffed Bellbloom from Hey!
@@VantageEmblem
Didn't look at it that way, but yeah, it would make a lot of sense to one-up the Glints.
Bring back smokey progg and the water wrath but have them in optional areas. Maybe a treasure or the like in them
I'd LOVE an optional area, but I just don't know if Nintendo will do it
But it's been in development for ten years, there's a chance there's so much content, but there's a chance that there's not much content at all. The suspense is killing me, haha
I want to see a dynamic ecosystem. It would make the world feel that much more alive.
You'll see no objection here!
All I want is for the difficulty and tension to be back.
Same here, that would be wonderful
about your idea on skitter leaf variants, I think it would be cool to have different leaf variants, such as maple or popler
maybe they can live in trees as verticality seems to be a thing in 4
I’d LOVE to see it, it could be so much fun. Imaging going after an oak leaf treasure only to find it’s a skitter leaf!
I say that we need more Gatling Groinks.
As long as they're fair and fun to fight, while also being a challenge? Yes please!
@@VantageEmblem Cave generation can make them kinda unfair, otherwise, I find them fair.
I'd love the 3 Adult Cannon Beetles, along with the Puffstool, Goolix and the Mamuta back again. Plus the return of the Smoky Progg!
I want all these missing Pikmin 1 enemies back!
Overall I just hope Pikmin 4 gives us more wild and insane enemies like the Groinks and Man-At-Legs than the more, boring ones 3 gave us
Flamingo gang
Also, yeah, Pikmin 2 has pretty wild enemy types, and I love it
As someone who never got to experience pikmin one but was the type pf kid to spend hours on wikis or watching gale wildlife vids
I want the adult cannon beetle reimagined in hd back please
Edit: somehow didnt even realise breadbugs (outside the fake bulborbs) were not in pikmin 3....how the hell-
Edit edit: while at it i love easter egg creatures so smoky prog and the ujadani would be much welcome, especially in the case of having a model more than 4 pixels wide for the latter ahah
Definitely - I wouldn't mind seeing it happen :)
Personally, if it were up to me
I agree with your picks for Pikmin 1, but I’d throw the regular Wollywogs in there, I miss those guys
Pikmin 2, I also agree with the picks, One of the creatures I’d add is the Ravenous Whiskipillar, it is so funny watching them shake around while Pikmin carry them
Pikmin 3, Same picks “Aside from the Desicated Skitterleaves, those things are evil” I liked the Skutterchucks and the Bug Eyed Crawmad
As for Hey Pikmin; One of these days I’m really hoping they add areas that are almost completely underwater, I really enjoyed a ton of the creativity of aquatic creatures in that game. Puckering Blinow, Sputtlefish, Waddlepus, Eyestalker Bubeels, Starnacles, Splurchins, I’d love to expansion of aquatic creatures. With the Long Water Dumple “Probably needs a better name” making a perfect mini boss for that kind of area
… Also Mockiwis, I love those derpy birds and would love to see them make a jump to the switch, their so goofy
I love these takes, I’d so like to see these enemies back and in their prime
I hope we'll be able to actually keep the bulbmin this time (if they're in the game), but I'd understand if that doesn't happen bc they're OP.
@@rin9130 I think, in a limited capacity, they could be kept around. There just has to be some way to balance them out
In Pikmin two, the fiery blow hog can still attack you in water! Maybe 3 I don’t remember
I want Gatlin groinks in the game
Me too - they’re impressive, powerful foes that are highly mobile, super unpredictable and crazy disruptive that challenge endgame players
A good six of these enemies have returned, hope you like them in Pikmin 4!
Imagine a baguette version of the bread bug. It could be called baguette bug (not very creative I know but I wouldn’t say bread bug is a very creative name either)
Hold on to this idea :)
I want to see Jellyfloats in HD. They are my favorites...
I can just imagine their texture, it could be so cool!
@@VantageEmblem mah babies hehe...
Didnt expect to see the Pileated Snagret here! Im like the only person would finds that fight easy
I think it would be a super easy fight in the Pikmin 3 engine given wings. I wonder how 4 will change things for us...
Caves are confirmed from the trailer! That being said, will bulbmin come with them? I hope so!
is this your big video you you were talking about last night
Yeahup! A big new one, though there's a few other new ones in the pipeline too :)
(Thanks for checking into my stream btw!)
I agree 100% - I’d love to see those enemies ramped up. Looks like at least joustmites might have a chance now!
Imagine an empress breadbug. If only for it being baguette shaped
I’d love it
What was the footage you were using in the beginning of the video? Is it a Pikmin 3 rom hack or something else? I’ve never seen it before
It's pre-release Pikmin 3 footage, if I recall correctly
I like this video good job I came here because of the new trailer drop yesterday man the fact that they brought back the
empress bulbkax I think that's how you spell her name
It really gives me hope that I have a feeling that this is going to be the ultimate that they going to bring back all the and please bring back to titan dweevil
You know, given the ice pikmin and most likely the ice hazard. An adult Arctic cannon beetle with the ice hazard instead of fire is really cool! No pun intended.
OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS SO POSSIBLE
This video aged like fine wine because most of pikmin 1 and 2 enemies are coming back even the man at legs that was shown for a second in one the trailers
I find it crazy how most of these got confirmed in the recent over view trailer.
Pikmin did the same thing!
i like that bread bugs drag small objects
thats the only reason i think they should return
i dont understand how a bug became bread though
I think it's just a name rather than them becoming bread.
...Right?
The only thing swarming sheargrubs have done to me is kill a lot of my yellow pikmin by luring them into the water while they were at the onion
Otherwise they pretty much don’t do much. It’s a problem with level design more than these enemies
yknow after re playing pikmin 2, i think id honestly like man at legs to return; especially with them bringing back dungeons in 4 im hoping to see some more returning bosses
Definitely how I feel. It’s tough, but it could be SUCH a fun fight, especially with new types like ice making the water bit less terrible
Purples > Rock anyday
do better
but also keep it up, nice vid.
No idea.
@@VantageEmblem Ok fair point, a new wraith would be pretty cool, i'm all for that
they were about in Pikmin 2 but not really in groups, but i've had alot of fun squashing things with purples in OTT P2 mods, actually I remember towards the endgame, might be the dream den? there's a level just full of dwarf bulborbs and 2 groinks, i love going around throwing purples almost aimlessly squashing everything in that room, though unless they're gonna up the difficulty I can't see them needing purples as strong as they were.
also the lack of Emperor Bulblax in 3 is disturbing
and though it may be a boring choice, I always loved the raging long legs, easy fight but 1 wrong move and you've lost most of your pikmin, it was just an epic and fun fight.
I want the creeping chrysanthemums
i have really good news for you
I vote for 3 things. Dirigibug, Berserk Leach Hydroe, and pls oh pls give the Water Dumples their whiskers back that they had in 1.
I'd love to see these guys make it in, especially if the Berserk Leach Hydroe is a different sort of plant this time.
Yes I agree bring back the puffstool
Puffstool gang :)
I would love to see the Empress Bulblax in glorious HD
Me too - imagine a well-balanced fight against one
My top pick is the Man-At-Legs. I REALLY want to see a reworked fight with the new perspective and perhaps a new ability or two as well
Oh yeah, I’d go crazy for it. Imagine a wild, reframed fight with the thing structured a bit like the mireclops fight of Pikmin 3?
Watch the video Pikmin Hybrids
I think I saw the Armored Cannon Beetle (THE ADULT!) in the Pikmin 4 trailers
i just wish that pikmin 4 feels less like a game, like it would be cool to see some of the piklopedia entries play out in real time, maybe with the new perspective you could see a beady long legs in the trees, or some male sheargrubs fighting eachother yknow?
I definitely get ya. The piklopedia as a well animated nature documentary sounds wild, though that may unfortunately be too expensive to make. We will see, though!
good predictions lol
Without spoilers, I can say this video aged scarily well
Bring back the smoky prog!
Yes please!
I had some videos like this planned, but I found it ultimately better to wait for more information via the direct first
why does everybody always forget enimies from hey pikmin!?!?!
Most people haven't played it, tbh. I'm really happy to have included them here, though, a lot of great ideas :)
I WANT TO BE BACK IN
I hope you can make it back in :)
8 of the enemies you wanted back have came back!
The most reacent trailer has all and more WE HAVE MAN IT LEGS WE HAVE ARMORED CANNON BEETLE ITS ALL HER...almsot
I haven't seen much BREADBUG in the trailers :(
When Pikmin 4 Just Got Out The Man-At-Legs Did Returned
Glorious Glorious HD
It's so glorious
@@VantageEmblem So Glorious
Imagine if we got the water wraith back, that would be amazing
im worried 4 is gonna be disappointing, i want it to be to 3 what 2 was to 1
Same, same, same.
It would be funny if the water wraith came back
I would LOVE that

Dunno if like shiny enemies would be cool? Or like variants based on sex or environment
We already have some gendered variants, like with the shergrubs. I’d love to see more of that sort of thing!
WELL MY FRIEND YOUR IN LUCK ( they brought back the armored and artic cannon Beatles idk if man at legs is ur fav but they added that also they brought back oh puff stool and a poisonous puff stool oh they brought back the most annoying enemy SMOKEY PROGG
we need whiptongue bulborb
Working on it-
Nice
Thanks for watching!
