I am happy that you gave a real review, because I know 99.99 percent fragrance RUclipsrs say all good things when they get gifted a bottle. There only a few honest reviewers left in this community.
I've been in the game awhile you have to have time with a fragrance before you can give your thoughts on it. Unless it smells like shit lol

I got a sample and love it!! Ordered a full bottle. Something about the way it comes off my skin just makes me feel great and that’s what it’s all about.
I smelled it at Nordstrom before release only because I got friendly with the sales man and it smelled so basic. Not a bad scent but for that price range it seems like a lazy release. I expected Melissa to give it a 7 i respect you for giving it an honest 5.

to me, Parfums de Marly has always been a niche house that's mainly mass appealing. Their scents are safe and likeable. There's a only a few from PDM that I actually like a lot, which is Carlisle and maybe Haltane. those two actually have some character and stand out.

I didn’t love it at first, but as it started to dry down, i enjoyed it a lot.
I have the same reaction when I tried this, it’s okay and will wear it but it has to be a love for a full bottle purchase. I’ll be a little generous and give it a 7!
I also thought it was meh the first time I smelled it and on initial first impressions. However this takes about 45 mins or more to get to the full drydown where it really does smell like a more musky, powdery and sweet version of Elysium and it lasts and projects much more than Elysium. I would think if you like Elysium that you would like this one on the drydown.
I don’t think PDM can put out anything better than Percival… fresh wise.
I’ve tried both and prefer Perseus

Bro are you serious? Greenly and Sedley are way more original and “fresh” than Percival. Sure Percival is good but it literally smells like SO many other fragrences it’s laughable. Straight up shower gel

I went to Saks yesterday and they gave me a sample of PDM Perseus and tested on skin. Honestly, I didn’t care for it. The SA at Saks did give a sample so I will test it out a little more and see if my opinion changes. Right now, I prefer Greenley and Sedley over Perseus.

I honestly found it a very linear, fresh and dry fragrance. Bored. It smells very similar to Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree. No, I wouldn't buy it and it doesn't seem like a launch that lives up to what one expects from this house. I give it a 5/10.
My girlfriend who doesn’t know much about fragrances absolutely loves Elysium. She literally did a 10 second sniff with her eyes closed of my arm first time I told her to smell it
Elysium intense on the other hand is the first time she’s every told me that my cologne STINK 😳😳😳😳

Perseus smells good but not great to me too. It has a happy feeling to it, a warm happy sun type of smell. A nice scent if you don't want to stand out as much. I bought Galloway instead.

I agree with you. I wanted to love it so much, bit I just can't! I gave it so many chances but for the retail price of $365. I would rather put my money elsewhere. One of my friends said "its not bad." I gave them the dead look 💀. Another said they're not a big fan of it. (Don't like it, but dont dislike it either)

You knkw light blue forever and hermes eau givree are both green and has grapefruit as the main notes and they are way better, sharper and more exotic smelling than perseus.

thats crazy i get a strong tart grapefruit on top and dries down slightly woody. i have this and elysium intense they are far from similar.
performance is excellent. after taking a shower he still has projection
I gets essential oils vibes from it. The grass note is the vetiver lol. I think its a bit over hyped and just mid for pdm fragrances.
I wore it for the first time and it smells like citrus,citrus,citrus, and more citrus.

PDM sense is so basic. I like most of their sense but it smells like a high end designer brand in my opinion. I feel it doesn’t have that uniqueness to stand out comparing to other niche brand that bring to the table.

I’m not a fan of this one. It’s more on the side of Terr D’hermes and I can’t get into those. I see what they’re doing but it’s not for me, it’ll definitely work for others.Too green for me.

Yeah I tried it, no impressed no wow factor for the price and all the hype I’ve seen on social media and it was Meh, my cedrat boise intense from mancera smells better 😝
