38 Special is an American southern rock band that was formed in 1974. They had a lot of great hits in the early 80's-90's such as "Hold On Loosely", "Caught Up In You", You Keep Runnin' Away", "If I'd Been The One", "Back Where You Belong", "Teacher, Teacher", "Like No Other Night", "Second Chance", "The Sound Of Your Voice" etc.

To me they pulled this on right out of a freakin' hat. One of my favorite R&B tunes ever. And it is PURE R&B! If you didn't KNOW this was 38 Special, you'd never guess it was them. A brilliant tune.

And that whole time, they didn't play a single song I didn't know word for word, once the music started. (But I prolly couldn't even hum a bar, if you tossed out a random title, without music.)
So popular during my HS years. They toured last summer and I saw them at a sold out outdoor amphitheater in Colorado. I think there is only one original member left, but they sounded great! CAUGHT UP IN YOU is a great song too, but they are all good!

One thing I can tell you about this band is that they had 2 drummers playing at the same time which I always thought was cool. "Hold On Loosely" and "Caught Up In You" were HUGE hits, and my personal favorite was "What If I'd Been The One". There is also a connection between them and Lynyrd Skynyrd, but I'll keep this short.
