I can't be bothered to walk home although getting on a bus is a pain in the neck too. Having said that, I need to get home at all costs,that's why I will keep an open mind and go with flow. Just tried to practice some of the expressions. Thanks Wes!

Yes, you can say "It didn't cross my mind," whenever you did not think of something. In this context, you would not say "I didn't get it through my head." Hope this helps. 👍

Yes, they are similar. But I think 'take one's breath away' is more appropriate with things that are beautiful. 👍
