7:25 The sentences: "You IS kind, you IS smart and you IS sound" are grammatically horrible? And I wonder how Wes gave a like to the comment without pointing out the awful grammatical error. Is there any other meaning of "IS" which I don't know yet as an English learner? If there is no another meaning, this error shouldn't have been passed over as it would mislead English language learners.
I like this grammar lession. which is really helpful to improve my written English. I appreciate that you could have more of this kind of lession for us
What I only want is to upgrade my English level.Thank you so much, Sir.I am learning English as a second language. That's why, I have so many difficulties in my learning journey.
Even though these exercises are not simple, they were very well explained, so thanks a lot for this great explanation and for the whole lesson, of course, Wes! Highly appreciate it!!
It is a very useful lesson! I know most of them, but the most important thing is your clarification of using them correctly! Teacher Wes thank you so much indeed 😊!
I just love your lessons! You remind me of my teachers of english at college, and they were great by the way.I'm Marlene from Havana, Cuba. I teach english too and need a lot of practice. Listening to you is a great source of knowledge. Thankssss!
This is that lesson I should not have missed:))) Seemingly ordinary but quite important grammar for English learners. Thank you. And thank you for mentioning the subjunctive!
Wes, thanks for the useful information. Please, explain why you don’t use “to” between “is” and “get” in the following sentence: “What we need to do is get some batteries “? I appreciate your feedback.
20:53 I am not a native speaker, but I bet the sentence is "She looked for a parking spot, but none WAS avalaible", instead of "none WERE available" because "a parking spot" is a singular.
I do not know if my intuition is right or not, but I think for the sentence "She looked for a parking spot, but none ( to be ) available" a better answer would be "was". Explanation : She was looking for one parking spot not for many parking spots, meaning that she only needs to find one. Yet, no parking spot was found.
You can only pick one spot out of the several that may be available so there are several spots, that explains why "were" is more appropriate. I hope that helps.
I'm in a jovial mood, so here's a humorous riddle for you all. Why could you say that a room full of married couples is really empty ? Answer: Because there's not a single person in it.
I would have gladly watched it - but unfortunately - where I am it is impossible - Russia(( Not even vpn works. Perhaps I just do not know how to cook tigers
Wes is a good, honest, and funny teacher.

With this construction, you follow the verb 'to be' with the base verb and not the infinitive. 😊

20:53 I am not a native speaker, but I bet the sentence is "She looked for a parking spot, but none WAS avalaible", instead of "none WERE available" because "a parking spot" is a singular.
In modern grammar neither/none can be both plural or singular
Same goes for everyone at 20:50(always singular) but he used it at 18:35 (didn't they).
'None were available' sounds good
Shame that I cannot access this resource. Shame, frankly speaking. Won't open for me, vpn or not
