The only downside to this comparison was your statement on the stainless steel variants being "...for the looks..." - the Stainless Steel has the added benefit of being a Sapphire Crystal display instead of the regular glass of the Aluminium watches. You get the polished looks, but the glass is SO much more durable it's def. worth mentioning. I had a Series 5 SS and it was incredibly scratch resistent.
Yeah, same. My mom saw me looking for a replacement watch band for my Garmin, and she kinda asked me if I wanted a new watch. The screen is a bit cracked on one of mine and the bands break a ton, but I mostly use it for time during tests and work, so a smartwatch isn’t super appealing, especially with the battery life. I think I’ll just stick with my sports watch
I've had the Nike series 3 for about 4 years now. Worn it everyday through workouts, swimming, beaches, all types of environments. The screen is all scratched up due to the constant wear and tear and its finally slowing down on me. Screen is becoming less responsive and I think its finally time for an upgrade, especially considering how much I use it. I definitely think the temperature and spO2 monitors are a game changer for the series 9. You never know when you could use them. That was the only think that led me to choose the series 9 over the SE.
There is an alternative option that wasn't put in this video.. buying one of the older watches. The Apple Watch's CPU hasn't been upgraded since the Series 6, It has had the same battery capacity since the very beginning at 295mah, the Series 7 for example might have an S7 instead of an S8 chip, but they run practically the same and the Series 7 will give you more features than the SE and would cost less second hand than a brand new SE. It also has the fast charging that the Series 9 has and the SE lacks, which I think you really underplayed by saying it's slightly slower. It can charge to 100% in just over 1 hour, it takes nearly 2 hours for the SE to reach 100%. New isn't always best.
General consensus seems to be that the s9 offers not a lot over the S8, so if you can get a deal on the S8 get that rather than a 9. Will personally be waiting for the upgrade with blood sugar sensor, I think that's what is missing for me.
The more I look at smart watches the more I realize that my only need is to not have to take my phone out to see what time it is. So, I bought a basic Casio with solar for 45$. Couldn’t be happier. Has all the features I need but n a watch and the battery never runs out.

I’ve owned the 45mm Series 7 in stainless steel, gold finish, until recently for maybe a year and a half. @@PeteMatheson that's true. however the iphone itself does it better and nicer than the watch. Iphone is nice to pay with, to use siri, respond to messages... etc... Apple Watches in my opinion are only worth buying IF YOU WORK OUT A LOT. I am a runner and using an Apple Watch instead of a phone is amazing. It is able to track where I run, how fast I’m going, and how many miles I run all without being connected to my phone or the internet. You can see other health related stats like calories, steps etc. of course it’s helpful getting notifications straight from your wrist but if you are not using it to work out I do not recommend. i am not sure i can agree with automatic watches holding their value in time, now and then they got to be serviced and that service is awfull, expensive the least and take months to do it
In my opinion you also glanced over the wear and tear over the years where the cheaper S9 can be greatly scratched and chipped in a years time. The more expensive S9 not as much and the U2 protects the glass even more. Going on from the idea to atleast use the device for 5-7 years I think it’s worth the price? But please change my mind
It really depends, because if you get the base one, and it gets beat up and damaged, you can literally buy a new watch with the money you saved by not getting the stainless steel. Double the price is only really worth it if you get way more than double the life, otherewise you could get the cheaper one with a refresh half way.

Maybe i need to try, but i don’t see any feature of any Apple Watch that would be better than 45 days battery, sometimes even longer.
I think it depends if you want any of the more smart stuff that's in the watch. Navigation, Siri, replying to messages, find my device etc -
Not everyone needs a computer on their wrist though!
@@PeteMatheson that's true. however the iphone itself does it better and nicer than the watch. Iphone is nice to pay with, to use siri, respond to messages... etc...
Find my device - recently I couldn't find my iphone, and I asked google nest to find it. It found it :)
For my case I'm not convinced to exchange 2 months battery life to mildly duplicated iphone's features on the watch.
The battery last for 45 days because it does less not to much going on so of course 🤦♀️🤷♀️
@@klukiyan you do apply pay in the Apple Watch
Really wish the Ultra came in more colours. Probably gonna go from my Series 5 SS Gold to the 9.
Where can I get that metal watch band ?
Hey,
Thanks for this amazing overview! Very helpful.
I noticed that you have oura’s ring. I am planning to buy apply watch series 9 but recently have gotten confused if I should go with the ring.
I am also doing a cost analysis as the ring will be costly as I have to take the subscription.
I am not into the features like double tap and have simple use cases like fitness/sleep tracking, blood oxygen etc.
If you can share your opinion or the best thing would be to compare the ring and series 9 or ultra 🙌🏼😃
Are all the apple watch band sizes the same? Because i want a 49” but have a small wrist
There’s 2 different sizes
38 mm 40mm 42mm 44mm 45mm 49mm
@@IGH414 but are there smaller bands for the 49mm on other sites?
So do these allow me to leave my phone at home?
I’d love to be able to work and not haven’t phone on my person . My pants and gun belt etc weigh me down already
@@ChrisCross-k2l I think if you get the GPS version you can, I assume you will need a SIM card for the watch though too. Of course this is more expensive too.
I am thinking of getting myself an Apple Watch and never had one before, any tips?
This might help! ruclips.net/video/6kZWFmuSDys/видео.html
What is the health strap you are wearing
Ah that’s the Whoop 👍🏼
This video was just what I needed to hear, thanks
Great video for comparison. I reckon I'll hang onto my Series 6 for another year
series 7 or SE2 ?
Thanks so much! This was sooo helpful!!!
Very welcome!

What would you recommend for a skinny wrist
Some protein powder and milk
I have the generic TikTok version of an Apple Watch right now. I’m contemplating on getting an Apple SE 2nd edition OR the series 9. Is there a keyboard on the SE series?
My mom has the SE, it doesn’t have a keyboard for texting.
@@nikkilewis3739 I have the series 3 for now. I was able to download the app FlickType. I just use the scribble or the mic for now. How does your mom like the SE 2nd Ed?
I have zero knowledge about those watches but going to get the s9/ultra1/2 as my first, I’m definitely not an athlete, maximum is running, but want a decent battery, if someone can help on what to get it’ll be great:)
Very informative review tho🙏
which one you get
I got a renewed Apple Watch 9 for $324 for a cellular one it arrives on Monday I’m so excited
Assuming you’re speaking of the Ultra 2 as you showed the 3k nits which the first version cannot do, the depth is not 40 meters. It is 100 meters. Not even the Series 9 is 40 meters.
As a kid I’m getting a series 9 even though there is a series 10 now and the Ultra won’t even fit on my wrist the face will be to big 😂
Really appreciate how through this was! I’m trading in my old Samsung watch today and needed some advice on which to get!
I really want the Stainless steel, but here in Mexico is much the same price for stainless steel and ultra, both locked with gps + cell
So, not much to think abut it. 947 USD the stailess steel 9... vs 1,066 USD the Ultra 2...
I love my apple watch se 2. I will keep it until it dies
I think apple has to fix the prices according to the battery life. It will be more useful
Thanks, you talked me into not buying one. I’ll stick with a cheapo analog one at $15.00 that does what I need it to… keep fairly accurate time.
Cheers!
Already have the watch ultra, will probably hold back for a few more years since it still gets the job done
It’s only a year old
Adjust your setting properly and you series 4 40mm will last the day…. I know because I’m doing it…. And the COMFORT.of the smaller size out ways all features of that Huge brick Ultra that honestly looks absolutely ridiculous on most people
And the SE has a bigger border than the S9 :))
I’m going with sr8 this year. Waiting for big update on srX next year.
What is lte ?
I upgraded from the series 6 to ultra 2 I get an upgrade bc I get my Apple Watches from my carrier and I pay monthly installments on them as well as my new IPhone 15!
Def need the ultra. The battery life and lte is most of what I want watch for
R the watches stereo speakers or mono
I got the ultra 2 love it all the previous generations look identical
All the way to the series 9 even the £1200 one looks identical
The watch ultra 1 or 2 looks so different stands out I’m happy 100 percent
Apple Watches in my opinion are only worth buying IF YOU WORK OUT A LOT. I am a runner and using an Apple Watch instead of a phone is amazing. It is able to track where I run, how fast I’m going, and how many miles I run all without being connected to my phone or the internet. You can see other health related stats like calories, steps etc. of course it’s helpful getting notifications straight from your wrist but if you are not using it to work out I do not recommend. Trust me.
So in conclusion it’s not worth it to buy smartwatch that cost as much as a phone hey? Coz it depreciate like toilet paper?
@@NourMoghrabi I was thinking of getting ultra 2? Seems like not worth it? Or should I get the venu 3 from Garmin?
if a watch battery does not last at least a week its a joke and this is what an apple watch is.
@@andrehufschmid the Apple Watch isn’t just a watch bro, it’s basically a phone
11:55 any issues with the sauna heat damaging you watch?
I currently have the Apple Watch Series 5 WiFi only and honestly I think I want to upgrade to a series 9 with the cellular version bc I want to leave my phone home sometimes just to run to the store or the fear of getting robbed for my phone 🤷🏾♂️lol… thank you for this video definetly helped me a lot . ❤️
People are still stealing phones in 2024? Smh
Great, in-depth video. I have Apple watch 7 41 mm and it's comfortable for me.
Awesome content! Keep it coming
Thank you!
Why get the new size instead of keeping my old Apple Watch 4 series
Are you asking me, or is this rhetorical?
I’m just starting to look into buying an Apple Watch. I just want to say how very useful and informative this video has been for me. Thank you! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber.
i am not sure i can agree with automatic watches holding their value in time, now and then they got to be serviced and that service is awfull, expensive the least and take months to do it
Instead of Watch SE go for a refurbished Apple Watch series 6. It's a more sensible budget watch.
Great video mate 👌🏾
I like Apple Watch SE.
Still using my s3 and it's doing great
In my opinion you also glanced over the wear and tear over the years where the cheaper S9 can be greatly scratched and chipped in a years time.
