Imagine this guy singing this song at a talent show or some singing contest.. i'd say he would make the whole audience get on there feet clapping and cheering him on

OH MY GOD! The way you used the lines "I don't deny" and "Time and again" to make it sound almost exactly like the Japanese version is BRILLIANT! I absolutely adore it this is genius!!!
I like the fact that the English lyrics can also sound just like the original Japanese Lyrics, it takes a certain level of skill and creativity to make it happen. I hate how underrated you are my guy! Hope to see more from you .
BRUH I LOVE HOW THE ENGLISH DOESN'T SOUND CRINGY OR UNNATURAL. IT'S ALMOST LIKE HE'S SINGING THE ORIGINAL SINCE SOME SYLLABLES ARE THE SAME LIKE "I LOVE YOU MO" AND "I LOVE YOU MORE"
This is THE best adaptation of a song to another language that I have EVER seen. It manages to sound almost the same while keeping the meaning through translation. A masterpiece.
I'm just crying, this is so damn good The final “baka mitai” killed me inside, this is so dramatic and beautiful, I practically felt the sadness and sorrow like they were my own feelings
"I don't deny" - baka mitai "You may know" - Yume no "I love you more" I love you mo "I know we" - na no ni Damn you managed to make it sounds like the original with actual English meaning. That is nut, well done!
It is great. But translated that isn't the actual words. It is superbly beautiful but it's not actually what those words mean. I'm sure if someone tried hard enough they could actually sing the English version with the actual words with the same melody.
My girlfriend of one and a half years broke up with me a few days ago. I feel like this song, even the Japanese version, is a direct reflection of my feelings. I've been feeling lonely and I'm devastated by the love I still feel for her knowing she will never again look at me with the same eyes as before. Every time I hear this song I tear up..
The way you translated and rearranged the lyrics from Japanese to English was superb! It doesn't sound cringey at all! This, together with your versions of Kaguya Sama Love is War's songs are my top three faves!
I really like how well you manage to translate the lyrics while still managing to make the song sound like the original. Much better than the official English version in that regard
such a fool, so immature chased a dream and was hurt a bad habit of lying is shown in an emotionless smile "I LOVE YOU" words that aren't said enough the truth gets me awkward and tongue tied despite everything, despite this, why was it impossible to say goodbye? it's no use, no use, no use at all i love you, i love you far too much no matter how strong the drink the memories never fade such a fool
After listening to the original and this multiple times, I just realized that A LOT of lines sound almost exactly the same in Japanese. Kodomo - I show no Yume wo - You may know Kidzuite - Kid whose ran away (kid slurred into whose to sound even more similar) Uso ga - And who got heta na kuse ni - hurt while chased his dream (lengthened "while" and muted the "L" to match na) Waraenai - I know in a way I love you mo - I love you more roku ni iwanai - could even describe (lengthened "scribe" and muted the "B" even more similar to iwanai) Kuchibeta ne - Couldn't even say (he pronounced couldn't as Kuh-dint even to match the cadence) Na no ni, na no ni doushite - I know we, I know we walked away (walked lengthened to match doushite) Dame Da ne - Time and Again (the unaccented "me" and "and" followed by the accented "Again") Dame yo - I'm a fool Anata Ga - All that I got (pronounced "I" as "ah") Dore dake - Knowing I can't (pronounced "I" as "ah" and lengthened the "can't" while muting the "n't") Yugamanai - All the memories (accented last syllable of "memories" to match "nai" It doesn't look like all of these sound the same just by reading it, but when you listen to the OG Bakamitai, it really does. All this fits WAY too much to be a coincidence. To do it this way, while making the words match the original's cadence and pronunciation, WHILE keeping the almost the exact same meaning? This is some GALAXY BRAIN level translating holy shit.
I try to stay faithful to the story of the song, but a the same time I want to make sure the sounds of the original are kept as much as I can. There's a reason they wrote it using the Japanese words they did, I think it'd be rude to not try and stay true to as much as possible. Lot of folks just rewrite the translation and make whole new lyrics with different sounds, but it ends up sounding like a completely different song haha. Glad you enjoyed it!
I noticed that too so everytime I hear a word close to the original japanese, my brain just reverts back to japanese when I sing along and forget 'oh wait its in english' 😆
