The aniversary would be the perfect moment to release Dolphin v6.0. It has been 6 years since the prior stable version, at some point they'll have jump versions
shoopdahoop22 PCSX2 Isn't too bad and supports about 3000 games so it's kinda good, Of course when coding. The job is never done and their will always be bugs.
PCSX2 has been really sad for a long time, because it's almost a good emulator. Dolphin really does steamroll over most other emulators, I'm sure that Dolphin devs get high level jobs using their Dolphin work. It's a model of excellency that any aspiring emulator dev team ought to emulate (lol).
whoopsifarted Maybe cause the wind waker was/is a popular game and that happened to have the most optimized code for emulating. Also I think CEMU was made with some Wii code but I am not sure.
I'm extremely proud of the dolphin team, they deserve a lot more credit for their work, all I hear is people complaining about it, so Thank You Dolphin team!!!!
0:20 - 8:10 We went from "Glitchier than Skate 3" to "OMG This emulator is incredible." Really, Good job on this. On A good enough computer, You could play Wii and GC games without the slowdowns of the real consoles, enhance the graphics for HD video output and other stuff, This one single emulator is just perfect.
I saw this recommended on a Dolphin appreciation video, I looked at the title, then at the 'Released ten years ago', my brain briefly short circuited, and then I had to come here to give my absolute respect to this titan of gaming.
I discovered dolphin around 2010 but I couldn't play it until 2012 because I still had a shitty windows xp. I tried playing melee on it, ran at an attrocious 3fps but it ran! then I got a new pc, played a shit ton of games (hell even beat xenoblade chronicles on dolphin instead of wii). Then a year ago I needed a laptop for school, so I got a powerful beast and now I can play my favourite games with gorgeous hd texture packs and I just found out about dolphin 5.0 a week ago. Thanks for the hard work dolphin team! You make my life!
thank you for making dolphin. it was the very first app that let me get on the wii menu and play wii games! including the firdst time i played wii sports (resort) and others
My friends and I live quite far apart from each other, so visiting is something that happens once or twice a year if at all. Dolphin Netplay builds have enabled us to actually play smash together despite living all over the country. Thank you so much Dolphin Team. You're great.
I know Dolphin from those first versions, trying to run GC Paper Mario at 1fps... :-) Congrats, Dolphin team! And thanks for one of the best pieces of software I ever put my hands on.
I knew this emulator for some time, but never had the hardware to try it, also didnt knew it really is that "Old". This year, i finally got some hardware to run it and man, this piece of software is totally awesome :) You did awesome work with dolphin.
Congratulations guys !! and thank you very very much for such an amazing work which you share with all of us !! .... Best of wishes on what is coming !
I can't thank the Dolphin Team enough for the Dolphin Emulator. First tried Dolphin 2.0 back in 2012 on my old PC (Pentium Dual Core E2180 2,0GHz, 4 GB DDR2 Ram, 9500GT 1 GB DDR3), to play Sonic 4 Ep I and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It was super slow. I had to render on the Dolphin's screen and windommed. Now with my new PC (Pentium G4560, 8 GB DDR4 Ram, GT 1030 2 GB GDDR5) i can easily play many GC and Wii games i never once played before! Its magical because in my country no one had a GCN, PS2 won by miles here! I finished Super Mario Sunshine, Galaxy 1 and Sonic Colors on Dolphin, and i'm now playing Galaxy 2. Thank you!
kudos to all Dolphin team Devs , dolphin brought my dream to play resident evil remake and zero into reality ,i am really amazed by your dedication for this project after so long years , keep going dolphin .
I cant thank the dolphin team enough its just pure nostalgia that you guys unlocked for me to revisit i love you guys so much i just dont knos how u guys got paid if this programm is free
I love you guys. Without Dolphin I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Xenoblade or Skyward Sword. 480p is just nasty for any game these days. Thank you for the 1080p goodness :)
Proud to have been born on the anniversary date of Dolphin! Thank you so much to the Dolphin team for the work put in to replicating my generations of consoles
Can’t believe it only took 2 years after the GameCube’s release for ector to say “let’s put these games on computers” God speed, Dolphin; may you soon become the #1 emulator for Nintendo games (before the Wii U)
Thanks for all you guys did on the emulator over all those years :) As many here, i never thought i would ever play and finish a gamecube game like RE Remake and RE 0 due being exclusives for the console and not having enough money for the console... Really thanks! You people do wonders!!! (But opengl still a flawed backend on many games, even being the fastest, doesnt matter if is wii or gc, so i hope for a better care from now on for our great open fast backend)
Thank you to everyone that made Dolphin possible the last 10 years. It is my favourite emulator. I wish you guys could take a crack at N64 support because it reached a certain level then just stopped. So close but yet so far.
Before (roughly) 2011, PCs that could run Dolphin at a reasonable speed cost a fortune. Basically it was "Can it run Crysis?", except Dolphin. Many jokes were made, particularly on extreme overclocking videos. Years went by, and by early 2011, it finally became reasonably affordable. Around the time 3.0 was released, I built my PC, specifically to run Dolphin at full speed. Finally I could run Dolphin at full speed! And it's amazing. The first time I played WW in HD blew my mind.
This is actually a pretty inspiring video, considering that i want to be along the lines of a software engineer i only hope that i can make something even close to being as used and loved as the dolphin emulator
It's hard to believe that next year, Dolphin would hit its 20th anniversary.
The aniversary would be the perfect moment to release Dolphin v6.0.
It has been 6 years since the prior stable version, at some point they'll have jump versions
Hello, I'm from da future

@@TestEmulators no, not yet
And it just so happens that Dolphin and PPSSPP were founded by the same developer: ector. He's awesome like that.

@soldier1411 That's probably because your device is a potato
@soldier1411 There is no smartphone with 20gb of ram
@soldier1142 I can run everything 60fps 480p and most things 60fps 720p on my iPhone so maybe just get an iPhone and not an android
@soldier1142 Ram is generally worthless in regards to Dolphin, your cpu/gpu matter the most.
I hope Citra, Xenia and Cemu get the same fate as Dolphin.
+dekutony And RPCS3 :(
+LordDarkNe0 And PCSX2

This gave me chills for some reason

For me, that tends to happen when I see something awesome like none other. This was one of those occasions.

You have made millions of people extremely happy, Dolphin Team. Incredible work.
They did it out of their kindness 😊
First playable Gamecube game in an emulator: The Wind Waker.
First playable WiiU game in an emulator? The Wind Waker.
Illuminati confirmed.
whoopsifarted Maybe cause the wind waker was/is a popular game and that happened to have the most optimized code for emulating. Also I think CEMU was made with some Wii code but I am not sure.
Zohonde Kids || Yea that would be it.
whoopsifarted I'd imagine, Since WII U's code is built off the wii allowing it backwards compatibility anyway.
Zohonde Kids || Yea that would be it.
How would being made with Wii code even be relevant in a WiiU emulator and the game it works?
That's just silly.
Ten years of ten years of Dolphin
I'm extremely proud of the dolphin team, they deserve a lot more credit for their work, all I hear is people complaining about it, so Thank You Dolphin team!!!!
WHAT people complain why thoguh there is even a Unofficial port for ios

Try dolphin 3.0 its better

i can´t believe its over 10 years you started to working on this beautiful thing. :)

20 years later.

It wakes the emulator. That's why it's WIND WAKER!
