MrJimbo1qaz, you do realize the probability of experiencing bugs and issues is greater when using the dev builds, right? Only those that can stand having their game session interrupted with a bug and have the know how on how to report the problem should use the dev builds.
That one year was mostly used to squash bugs in the dev builds to allow for a stable 5.0 release. So - while I do use dev releases they are definitely not for everyone and I will use 5.0 for the next months now.

+Grizeus It doesn't. While dolphin emulates the software (virtual console wad, here) but the underlying software(N64 emulator developed by Nintendo) is shittier than other emulators...
+윤여민 Yeah, tried it out. It is generally shittier. But with Pokémon Snap, there's been a glitch with all the emus I've used where it won't register the names of Pokémon in camera, which makes it impossible to unlock the final level normally.

Kwinston X Smash Did you download that copy and the uploader had no permission to upload it? Then it is illegal, even if you do own the actual copy. If you made the dump yourself, it depends on your region, in some countries that is illegal because you would need to bypass the copy protection.
I think it just has to do with the PS2's guts working like spaghetti more so than anything. Though it's not like I'm a master on either console's architecture.

This might be a free project but you and what team you have deserve all the support you could get for such works. Keep it up, before we know it one day we'll be playing these games flawlessly! 1 - Best Wii/GC emulator and no Wii U emulator 2 - Good Wii/GC emulator and functionnal Wii U emulator I prefer the option 1 :) There are already Wii U emulators projects, let's keep dolphin for the Wii/GC :)
Hiker Wolfspaine But in less than one year Cemu has made an awesome progress :) I think at the end of the year you will be able to play 1/4 of the WiiU games :) And at the end of 2017 the vast majority of all games :)
Well, Wii U stll uses the same architecture and has a set of same/similar features, which make it possible to play Wii/GC games on it, so maybe it's not really that different, but don't take my words too seriously, sinse I don't know much about it.
im pretty sure someone who wasnt part of the core team made it and added a request to add it to the main branch, so the main team just made use of the oppurtunity
I just tried a beta version... I think 14095 0.o I don't know WHO made the GENIUS changes compared to the initial 5.0, but everything works perfectly! Holy moly! I'm using some old hardware on a spare, it's a Radeon 5870 HD on a q6600. version 3.5 was the last version that didn't have any problems, but twilight princess had some issues with speed (bearable/playable), 4.0 was just out of the question... 5.0 would close itself and I think the forums mentioned that such hardware was not even possible for 5.0. I literally just took a shot in the dark with the beta build, it plays full speed at 1080p and looks amazing. Props to you folks responsible for it. Thanks a million!
I have a pretty weak Intel Pentium G860, 8GB RAM and a GTX 750 OC videocard, and what I tested all ran really well in 1080p. But even with my old HD 2600XT, some games were playable.
The work you do here is absolutely incredible. Thank you for the love and dedication to the classic beautiful stories we grew up with. Your work will be remembered!
6.0: - Mouse support to emulate the Wii Remote's pointer "directly" - Cars 2, Toy Story 3, and Disney Infinity are on a playable status without needing workarounds - Game Boy Player emulation support 7.0: - Wii U Menu WAD now works, it loads Cemu to do the rest - GBA to GC games compatibility is now supported with VBA-M and mGBA - Connectivity between Wii to DS and 3DS games is now supported between MelonDS and Citra
I bet you can. My PC runs on a intergrated graphics card you've probably never heard of and a dual core processor and most games even though at low settings run this emulator 60 fps. it's just that well optimized
Cesar Meneses Audeves I played with my friend that was in Maryland. I was in New Jersey. We both had half decent internet, and we never had any desyncs during Mario Kart.
I first found out about Dolphin Emulator about half a year ago and I thought it was too good to be true, well I just recently downloaded it and got a couple games that I played as kid. Man was I surprised when it actually worked and the games look great! Keep up the great work Dolphin Emulator its amazing!
is that a battery powered one, i use a usb powered one plugged into my tv's port, i can use it for dolphin, wii and wii u without having to move the wire or change batteries
stickyle It's USB, but has a smaller cord. They did say they're planning a potential 2m long cord, but I don't know if that's been done yet. So it's best to measure your distances first, and get a USB extension cable if needed.
I know this may sound weird but i have seen this video at least 10 times.Am i the only one?Idk i just think it's satisfying to see those improvements and see how far the Dolphin Emulator has come
You can actually read about the plan in the full article on the main website: dolphin-emu.org/blog/2016/06/24/dolphin-50-release/#predictions-for-the-next-release Find ubershaders.
This is so great! It really looks like a TON of REALLY HARD work was put into this, and it is a free software????? How could such a thing like this be done by free????? I mean, even if they were to get paid a lot, most first party companies would just stop at "it is functional" but this exceeds this by the thousands, optimizing it beyond some of the consoles capability
its not free. Its open source! That means that regular people can actually look at the code, and even point out bugs from the inside. (unsure if Dolphin has public edits though)
Yeah, I remember running into first a really laggy glitch with the paper effects, then some other crash bug I had to hunt down a previous version for that was really common. Hope they fixed that... hm, I should look at my old comments on their forum so I can double-check where it was...
Xuncu lol gl with that, the new version fixed a lot of my lag issues, and the only time it's really bad now is during those paper effects, where it will go from 100% speed to like 40%, its weird lol
greenyoshi119 Well, even with an earlier build, there were a few setting you can do. One was a graphics setting, I think the default is Graphics backend from OpenGL to your graphics card-- except I had to switch back if I wanted to use those two fortune tellers in the Underground. Also, my PC is pretty beef, despite being from 2008, it's a 2008 with an *i7* (first gen): all I had to do recently was buy a ~$100 graphics card, I can play _XCOM 2_ on high settings with NO LAG.
You are not alone. I use a pentium 4 with windows xp for like 11 years now. i'm too goddamn jealous of my friends having a core i7 and a ps4 on a silver platter.
terrible to be honest but, it's doable. I use an xbox one controller. If that's too expensive, I would recommend getting a cheapo afterglow 360 controller. theyre like 20-25 bucks
Depends on the game really. Super Mario Galaxy can be configured to play decently with keyboard and mouse, but good luck finding a way to play Mario Party
Would it be right to assume that my Mayflash Sensor-bar will work with this (awesome) update? Also, if it isn't too much to ask: What were the specs of the computer(s?) you used to "grab" the in-game footage shown in this trailer? Edit: Oh! Almost forgot... Thanks for all your hardwork,!
Caleb's Crannie lol yeah as soon as they get on the wiiu.. dolphin isn't done yet and this is what the majority want. maybe a couple years after switch someone will have a wiiu emulator and then a couple years after the next console someone will do switch.
I'm sure Nintendo will put all of their games in the Switch store for purchase. There's no point in putting an emulator on a console that can already play the games. Plus the Switch uses cartridges like the DS does meaning you can't put in a gamecube or wii game to emulate it on the Switch even if someone bothered to make a bootleg crack for it.
I've just gotten 5.0, one question I really need to get an answer to is, how do I modify the memory card? I keep getting told I have insufficient space when trying to play games.
I personally managed to do that on a Windows machine by borrowing the mksdcard tool app from Android SDK and creating a larger SD with that. Then mount and edit the thing using Gizmo.
+3l H4ck3r C0mf0r7 That's for SD memory cards, of course. If you're talking GC memory cards, yes, the tools in Dolphin will create larger memcards for you
3l H4ck3r C0mf0r7 Should I ignore the warning where it says I can't save anymore? I pressed A to continue without saving and found that I could save just fine.
This was more exciting than 90% of what was shown at E3
So much YES
the 10% is the new zelda right?
Exciting things at E3: AMD's hardware, Zelda BotW, Death Stranding, and maybe the Setsuna game? For me, that's it.
MrJimbo1qaz, you do realize the probability of experiencing bugs and issues is greater when using the dev builds, right? Only those that can stand having their game session interrupted with a bug and have the know how on how to report the problem should use the dev builds.

Hiker Wolfspaine But in less than one year Cemu has made an awesome progress :) I think at the end of the year you will be able to play 1/4 of the WiiU games :) And at the end of 2017 the vast majority of all games :)
I think it will take longer than that. It took something like a decade for Dolphin to get this state of emulation.
Thanks for letting me know about the better performance, Major. I was worry about it being slower.
Thank you so much for your great work!
Will you add support for WiiU later?
Dolphin is my favourite dev team, would love to see this!
would be nice if they could put their projects together
+JaysonSR but wouldnt it be possible to just execute their code when launching a wii u to have those games in one program? :p
Well, Wii U stll uses the same architecture and has a set of same/similar features, which make it possible to play Wii/GC games on it, so maybe it's not really that different, but don't take my words too seriously, sinse I don't know much about it.
Actually no, the Wii U CPU is pretty much Wii with more cores and higher clock speed, the GPU is also just newer.
Why did you use dx12 isntead of vulkan!?
im pretty sure someone who wasnt part of the core team made it and added a request to add it to the main branch, so the main team just made use of the oppurtunity
Vulkan is probably going to be added later, and they should because i don't want to upgrade to windows 10 again -_-
BlackJoe23 Ha, ok I see,

I'm so happy!
Let's try this version with my powerful i3 2100...
i3 squad present
+Naiko There are literally DOZENS of us!
yo you have the exact same cpu as me!
I was using a Q6600 until last year. End me
Yeah, let's kinda just try it with my overheating i7-6700. Ugh, the pain..
Thanks for creating this wonderful software.
What PC was used to run all of that? Meaning, the specs.
I have i5 and geforce 760, can play majority of games at fullspeed@1080p
just get an i5, Sandy Bridge... Nehlaem...
the highest clockspeed you can get on the latest arch you can get. assume every new arch is at least 5 to 10% faster.
low as AMD A8-6410 cpu with 800 passmark
I have a pretty weak Intel Pentium G860, 8GB RAM and a GTX 750 OC videocard, and what I tested all ran really well in 1080p.
But even with my old HD 2600XT, some games were playable.
The work you do here is absolutely incredible. Thank you for the love and dedication to the classic beautiful stories we grew up with. Your work will be remembered!
well just wait until 2019 with 6.0: were EVERY SINGLE GAME WORKS AS PERFECTLY AS IF YOU WERE PLAYING AN ACTUAL GAMECUBE OR WII
2020-no dolphin 6.0
2021-Still no dolphin 6.0
Update:3209-stlill no dolphin 6.0
Just use beta versions
6.0:
- Mouse support to emulate the Wii Remote's pointer "directly"
- Cars 2, Toy Story 3, and Disney Infinity are on a playable status without needing workarounds
- Game Boy Player emulation support
7.0:
- Wii U Menu WAD now works, it loads Cemu to do the rest
- GBA to GC games compatibility is now supported with VBA-M and mGBA
- Connectivity between Wii to DS and 3DS games is now supported between MelonDS and Citra
it's been 7 years since last major update now lol
8 years now
5 years later...still no 6.0
16.000 updates since then. Let's go.
What song is used at 5:36? My PC sucks so I can't emulate anything but I liked the video!
That would be Smash Superstars by Zircon
ocremix.org/remix/OCR03156
I bet you can. My PC runs on a intergrated graphics card you've probably never heard of and a dual core processor and most games even though at low settings run this emulator 60 fps. it's just that well optimized
Smash Superstars by zircon
Read the description. It's Smash Superstars by zircon - ocremix.org/remix/OCR03156
ocremix.org/remix/OCR03156 use descriptions. But here you go
LAGLESS NETPLAY?!?!?!? Dan Salvato if you make this true, I will love you.
It's only lagless if everyone connected has good internet tho
And if all people can play at 60 FPS.
It's actually possible, i tried playing mario kart dd with a friend with 1 state of distance and it was pretty decent netplay
perhaps a LAN mode would definitely help
Cesar Meneses Audeves I played with my friend that was in Maryland. I was in New Jersey. We both had half decent internet, and we never had any desyncs during Mario Kart.
But can it run Crysis?
What about Minecraft? Will it play Minecraft?
The words suck and
Shadow Mario minecraft can't be in the same comment
does it work on android?
MadGraph will it work fine on gtx1070
I first found out about Dolphin Emulator about half a year ago and I thought it was too good to be true, well I just recently downloaded it and got a couple games that I played as kid. Man was I surprised when it actually worked and the games look great! Keep up the great work Dolphin Emulator its amazing!
"my longest yeah boy ever"
How do you connect Wii remotes to Windows 8 and 10 without bluetooth?
***** oh. ok. I'll consider buying one then. The Xbox 360 controller really doesn't work as well.
Dolphin Bar FTW take a look at one of those.
Look up the Dolphin Bar on Amazon or something. I have one, and it allows me to connect and use Wii remotes flawlessly.
is that a battery powered one, i use a usb powered one plugged into my tv's port, i can use it for dolphin, wii and wii u without having to move the wire or change batteries
stickyle It's USB, but has a smaller cord. They did say they're planning a potential 2m long cord, but I don't know if that's been done yet. So it's best to measure your distances first, and get a USB extension cable if needed.

I know this may sound weird but i have seen this video at least 10 times.Am i the only one?Idk i just think it's satisfying to see those improvements and see how far the Dolphin Emulator has come
This is why i love the dolphin emulator guys
Although, I am having a hard time to get it properly set up.
Amazing work, guys, absolutely amazing! My hat's off to all the talented developers and coders working on this
We'll never merge async shaders. It's either nothing OR we're going to implement a feature that dwarfs them.
You can actually read about the plan in the full article on the main website: dolphin-emu.org/blog/2016/06/24/dolphin-50-release/#predictions-for-the-next-release
Find ubershaders.
Ooooh, a reply! Much appreciated and, again, thank you for your existing and future plans :)
Does anyone know if Project M still works on 5.0?
Project M should work just fine in 5.0!
+Dolphin Emulator is this compatible to 4.4.2 ? I can't play the experimental in my Android
Yes. I tested it.
it even works better!!
Seems like these guys had a lot of fun working on this! Great job
Please update 6.0!!!
I would only like to know what bugs are still on 5.0 so I can have some feet on what might come to 5.0-2000
cause i have not seen any untill now, and that is perfect!
its not free. Its open source! That means that regular people can actually look at the code, and even point out bugs from the inside. (unsure if Dolphin has public edits though)
This is pretty hype, maybe i can finally run pm ttyd on my shit computer lol
Same here XD
Yeah, I remember running into first a really laggy glitch with the paper effects, then some other crash bug I had to hunt down a previous version for that was really common. Hope they fixed that... hm, I should look at my old comments on their forum so I can double-check where it was...
Hot shit, fixed exactly the problem. Gonna dick around in TTYD epilogue chapter to double-check. Laters!
Xuncu lol gl with that, the new version fixed a lot of my lag issues, and the only time it's really bad now is during those paper effects, where it will go from 100% speed to like 40%, its weird lol
greenyoshi119
Well, even with an earlier build, there were a few setting you can do.
If the next Dolphin full release comes by in 4 years, it might just be something *much* more powerful then what we had with this release.
My fucking steam train that i use as a computer can't install Windows in x64
G R E A T
Wellington Santos Get it steam ! Anyone?
You are not alone. I use a pentium 4 with windows xp for like 11 years now. i'm too goddamn jealous of my friends having a core i7 and a ps4 on a silver platter.
***** I would've a long time ago if i didn't live in fucking Brazil.
What about F-zero Gx and Star fox assault your greatest nemesis?????? FIX THOSE!
xD
yeah i want to play them again !
Fixed already
destrierofdark still have hardcore stutters tho :(
gibbythebest kotwal Enable dual core.
6.0 ?
I did about 60 or so Dolphin 5.0 videos with 4-5k internal res with various games. Just about everything works perfect.
can you add 60fps support for mario sunshine
A user did. There's a gecko code on the forums and wiki that does just that. wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Super_Mario_Sunshine
Dolphin Emulator theres no double rate hack in the properties of 5.0 though so when i use the code and put it to 200% it just goes really fast
Junda Mane what do i put it on then because before you were supposed to put it on 120fps but there is now no option for that
Did it fix Sonic Heroes being unplayable due to controls being broken?
You can re configure the controls
How's performance on AMD CPUs?
*****
Alright, I'll download this build right away.
I got a Amd fx 6300 and Gtx 750ti a runs perfect, you can check out my videos.
Not before the boatload of optimizations.
***** Check the blog post on their site.
I've got an AMD 8320 8 core clocked at 4.0ghz does anyone know if this should be good?
I'm so incredibly impressed by the people who developed this project. I can't imagine how much work it takes to program a emulator that runs so well.
How's the control with K+M? I don't have a controller
terrible to be honest but, it's doable.
Footage was mostly grabbed on a Core i5-3570K CPU. Mayflash DolphinBar does work in 5.0.
Dolphin Emulator
Core i5 CPU without a dedicated GPU? Impressive.
Dolphin Emulator Also, good to know. I do love my Mayflash. Will update as soon as I am able. Thanks, mate!
How come whenever I try to play DBZ BT3 I can't see my characters with 5.0
Vivid Sqesh not every game is fully compatible yet and some may never be. you could try messing with settings but i dunno
Timmy T-Rex True true thanks for the response dude it helped I can see my dudes now.
oh well heck man you're welcome!
Jnan Mckenzie add me on skype I'll send the download @harutoxhayate
Jnan Mckenzie I'll make on
And here we are 3 years since the last update once again...
No fix fo Metroid Prime 2 echoes at the begining of the game : White lines
Will there be a Switch port of this in the far future?
Caleb's Crannie lol yeah as soon as they get on the wiiu.. dolphin isn't done yet and this is what the majority want. maybe a couple years after switch someone will have a wiiu emulator and then a couple years after the next console someone will do switch.
I think he's asking for a port of dolphin TO the switch, not an emu of the switch. that way GC and WII games can be played on the go and handheld
In fact there is already a Wii U emulator, it's called Cemu, it works like a charm you just need to have a pretty good PC for it to run at full speed
It's still experimental, through, and certain games don't run, like Color Splash.
I. Love. You. yes you, you fucking dolphin devs! keep the fucking amazing work up guys!
You guys nailed it out of the park on this release! Amazing video and great work! Much Appreciated
I've just gotten 5.0, one question I really need to get an answer to is, how do I modify the memory card? I keep getting told I have insufficient space when trying to play games.
Tools -> Memory Card Manager
I personally managed to do that on a Windows machine by borrowing the mksdcard tool app from Android SDK and creating a larger SD with that. Then mount and edit the thing using Gizmo.
+3l H4ck3r C0mf0r7 That's for SD memory cards, of course. If you're talking GC memory cards, yes, the tools in Dolphin will create larger memcards for you
3l H4ck3r C0mf0r7
Should I ignore the warning where it says I can't save anymore? I pressed A to continue without saving and found that I could save just fine.
Seviper It depends.. Does it show up in the emulator saying (it should be fixed, but could still break something), or in the game?
