This was more exciting than 90% of what was shown at E3

Exciting things at E3: AMD's hardware, Zelda BotW, Death Stranding, and maybe the Setsuna game? For me, that's it.
MrJimbo1qaz, you do realize the probability of experiencing bugs and issues is greater when using the dev builds, right? Only those that can stand having their game session interrupted with a bug and have the know how on how to report the problem should use the dev builds.
That one year was mostly used to squash bugs in the dev builds to allow for a stable 5.0 release. So - while I do use dev releases they are definitely not for everyone and I will use 5.0 for the next months now.
I love the Dolphin, thank you for giving me an HD Gamecube!

Of course it is. It was built on a PC with PC graphics. Almost every emulator is better than the console, because the PC has better graphics and processing power.

6.0 don’t need to be released as the emulator is greater than console for 98% of games besides not being able to play ctgp online although there’s other mkwii mods playable

have you tried the psp version on the psp emulator? that version suppose to be good. its the Saturn version that had maria in it.

I think it just has to do with the PS2's guts working like spaghetti more so than anything. Though it's not like I'm a master on either console's architecture.

At 2.0ghz, I couldn't even run Mario Sunshine at 30fps, the highest I got was 23. Somehow, the guys behind Dolphin improved on it so much that I can get 60fps on the same settings. I have no idea how. (I'm using a laptop, too.)
PC specs:
AMD A6-5200 APU @ 2.0gHz
AMD Radeon R3-8400 Graphics @ 600 something or 700 something mHz
8GB RAM @ 1.33gHz

+TigerSlashX Thanks. Just researched - I had no idea that Dolphin emulated N64 virtual console games! Cool. And it looks like it runs Snap more accurately than all the N64 emus I've used that don't register the names of Pokémon when you shoot them - Dolphin does.
+Grizeus It doesn't. While dolphin emulates the software (virtual console wad, here) but the underlying software(N64 emulator developed by Nintendo) is shittier than other emulators...
+윤여민 Yeah, tried it out. It is generally shittier. But with Pokémon Snap, there's been a glitch with all the emus I've used where it won't register the names of Pokémon in camera, which makes it impossible to unlock the final level normally.

Kwinston X Smash Did you download that copy and the uploader had no permission to upload it? Then it is illegal, even if you do own the actual copy. If you made the dump yourself, it depends on your region, in some countries that is illegal because you would need to bypass the copy protection.

The release process skipped Android. It was not part of the feature freeze and was not stabilized for release. Devices aren't there yet, and the AArch64JIT isn't quite up to the standards of the x86-64 JIT. Android will continue to be updated alongside dev builds, so it's not like it's abandoned or left behind. It's just more beneficial to let it continue to developer rather than freezing it in an incomplete state for release.

In the download-page, in the section "Development versions", you find the current state of Dolphin and there you'll find the Android APK.

Most people wouldn't want Dolphin on Android. It's only really useful to developers and enthusiasts right now.
I still think this the only emulator that has managed to be a complete console replacement really impressive

It doesn't emulate straight up N64 games that you play on an N64 emulator. It plays the virtual console versions that are downloaded onto the Wii. So the only N64 games it can play are the ones that were ported.
Any game released for the Wii Virtual Console should be able to run in Dolphin. This includes NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Master System, TurboGrafx-16, Neo Geo, and Commodore 64
Dolphin Emulator Interesting - how would I get those to run on Dolphin? I can't just use straight up ROM's from N64 or something I imagine?
The correct way would be to dump them straight from your Wii, but I'm willing to bet Google would be a nice searching companion if you haven't bought those games yet. When dumped/downloaded, they usually come in a file type called .wad and you open them up on Dolphin the same way you open a .iso file.

It's actually possible, i tried playing mario kart dd with a friend with 1 state of distance and it was pretty decent netplay

Yeah, I remember running into first a really laggy glitch with the paper effects, then some other crash bug I had to hunt down a previous version for that was really common. Hope they fixed that... hm, I should look at my old comments on their forum so I can double-check where it was...

Xuncu lol gl with that, the new version fixed a lot of my lag issues, and the only time it's really bad now is during those paper effects, where it will go from 100% speed to like 40%, its weird lol

Well, even with an earlier build, there were a few setting you can do. One was a graphics setting, I think the default is Graphics backend from OpenGL to your graphics card-- except I had to switch back if I wanted to use those two fortune tellers in the Underground.
Also, my PC is pretty beef, despite being from 2008, it's a 2008 with an *i7* (first gen): all I had to do recently was buy a ~$100 graphics card, I can play _XCOM 2_ on high settings with NO LAG.

- Cars 2, Toy Story 3, and Disney Infinity are on a playable status without needing workarounds
- Game Boy Player emulation support
7.0:
- Wii U Menu WAD now works, it loads Cemu to do the rest
- GBA to GC games compatibility is now supported with VBA-M and mGBA
- Connectivity between Wii to DS and 3DS games is now supported between MelonDS and Citra

the highest clockspeed you can get on the latest arch you can get. assume every new arch is at least 5 to 10% faster.

I have a pretty weak Intel Pentium G860, 8GB RAM and a GTX 750 OC videocard, and what I tested all ran really well in 1080p.
But even with my old HD 2600XT, some games were playable.
5 years later...still no 6.0

Well, Wii U stll uses the same architecture and has a set of same/similar features, which make it possible to play Wii/GC games on it, so maybe it's not really that different, but don't take my words too seriously, sinse I don't know much about it.
Actually no, the Wii U CPU is pretty much Wii with more cores and higher clock speed, the GPU is also just newer.

This is so great! It really looks like a TON of REALLY HARD work was put into this, and it is a free software????? How could such a thing like this be done by free????? I mean, even if they were to get paid a lot, most first party companies would just stop at "it is functional" but this exceeds this by the thousands, optimizing it beyond some of the consoles capability

its not free. Its open source! That means that regular people can actually look at the code, and even point out bugs from the inside. (unsure if Dolphin has public edits though)

No fix fo Metroid Prime 2 echoes at the begining of the game : White lines
