Id rather fight giant characters instead of characters like Gizmo, Morty, Fin, and Marvin who are all so short and small they duck under jabs and projectiles for doing nothing.
I do dislike that some hitboxes are so wonky on characters like Gizmo and Marvin however, Stripe gets hit by everything normally, which is proof small characters should be able to be hit. I've never been a fan of a charavter that can just walk at me under jabs and projectiles either.

Thanks to the playerbase, Multiversus has two dead characters on the roster because nobody has the motor functions for fighting games
This one I agree with heavy. I talked about this specific thing a bit in the Steven video that drops this afternoon. Cause I'm convinced people don't like the game (or any game) once people start playing to win or at the very least their opponenrs are good enough to know what their win conditions are.
@@Trotazik Again, it's of the time of me responding. Two months ago it was Agent Smith and Joker. In the current patch seldom people aren't using Stripe and Velma because their kits got nerfed. Also, Stripe's not busted he's an Assassin; they're made to do early ringouts through long combos or specialized gimmicks.
@@BPlusEfforts Good to see and hear that there are other people who see that he isn't as mediocre as he gets judged as. He could still do with a little buffs but he's good.
Here's a hot take. As a Jason main I belive that he is a top tier. Definitely not S-Tier, but somewhere in A-Tier. I understand many people will say the lack of speed makes it hard for him to get wins, but if you know how to deal with the character you're fighting then it becomes easier to win. And yes I can confirm Finn is a great match up for Jason. In fact I have 3 stocked many decent playing Finn players (as in just people who knew what they were doing).
I am an avid Jason hater, he’s definitely A tier to S tier depending on the map. He can get very early kills, V E R Y. I’ve been rung out as Black Adam at 20 by Jason from being caught with an up special LMAO.
my hot take is that i preferred the dodge spam fest from the beta than the current whiff lag fest. it was simply more fun to play like ur half asleep spamming than being on ur toes whiff punishing. Less competitive yes, but more fun (for me at least). I do like the increased start up on moves tho. All they needed was to fix the insane hitboxes most chars had and give chars more start up time.
I understand why spam dodge and whiff lag punish are both terrible since the game isn't and will never be balanced around 1s. I hope one day when they figure out balancing they can balance for 1s and 2s individually.
I swear sometimes it's like I run out of dodges before I even start playing, I get caught in the air and just plummet, I haven't even been hit or done anything yet. I'm sure I must've spammed jumps and dodges at some point but it's annoying, oddly less so when the other player clearly knows I'm not keeping track of things and edge guards to keep me from landing, guess it's because they beat me, not gravity.
A lot of hot takes that I found since launch and agree with: 95% of players are casual or play like an hour a day, but PFG seems to want to cater more towards the pros. Which is fine for me, but I think it's the wrong choice to neglect the larger player group that just want to have a good hour after work or school. 1s should be neglected until they finish balancing 2s (the more popular and selling point) and ranked and then they should balance them individually. 1s at the moment is horrendous at the moment and trying to balance both is hurting both. People telling PFG to not nerf anyone has left a good amount of characters at the top. PFG should be nerfing the top tiers and bringing up low tiers until everyone feels around mid tier. They should also make certain spam moves worse while bringing up other moves to remove spam. Zoners just shouldn't exist if they want all the characters to be fun. Or if they make a zoner make them bigger so they cant projectile run projectile run and actually use their brain like a zoner should. The only things good about the beta (I had 200 hours in beta) were not gameplay related. Easier to unlock characters, the netcode would cause lag, but at least it didn't kick you/make you sd. My hot take in reply to the last one: Multiversus roster should be better than smash's since without bias, smash's roster isn't that good, just really big. I'm not saying the roster is bad, there's just a couple heavy hitters surrounded by terrible picks like minmin or fire emblem while multiversus has mainstream, non-video game characters. Multiversus is a lot more attractive to people outside of the Nintendo ecosystem. I personally know a lot of people that have no interest in Nintendo and smash but really wanted to play multiversus because they know those characters really well.
for the zoner take, a zoner isn’t always spamming projectiles. while a lot of games do call them “zoners”, that isn’t what an actual zoner is. there’s probably a video out there explaining what a zoner is. but as far as multiversus’ zoners go? yeah get rid of em i hate em too death to tom and jerry
This is making the next hot take video. Funny enough, the video is scheduled to come out this afternoon (Steven Universe) video talks about a few of your bullet points. Stay tuned.
Possible hot take: Marvin needs a serious buff. Not because he’s bad, but because Marvin is a setup character. He has resources he needs to spend in order to actually play neutral and confirm kills and get setups. Despite this, literal any top tier can have fantastic neutral with 0 cooldowns, not be as light of a character, and still kill earlier at like 60%-80%. Marvin having an awkward kit, no real kill confirm option outside of long cooldown rocket, and being so lightweight should be compensated with his cooldowns giving him a better kill confirm option than the average brawler if you can get it to land with an entire setup and multiple cooldowns sunk into it lol. Instead of Shaggy flying-kick deleting you off of a stray hit and bagging a KO on accident at low percents. Marvin’s not bad, but regardless he’s a setup assassin with a lot of trade offs for that style who’s setups pay off to be slightly worse than top tier characters basic kill confirms
I feel as though Marvin will always be in a tough spot. The game being balanced around 2v2 means his projectiles and screen control would have to take a tremendous hit if they start giving him access to consistent kill moves. The current expectation for Marvin is to rank up damage and your partner secure the kills. I feel like any character with a bunch of projectiles SHOULD be designed around that. Then there's Gizmo which throws that out of the window completely.
2:32 I’m a Velma main so it is probably LeBron,Garnet, Jason or Banana Guard as my favorites mostly because most other characters are difficult to fight as Velma because some of them are easy to play.
Hot Take:Makibg the game slow and floating plus this zoomed in camera angle took way the true essence of the game,When this game released in open beta it was seen as a chaotic fusion of WB characters and the fast movement really helped sell that vision now that they have slowed it down it feels as if it’s just a platformer game you would download to kill time and is nowhere near the Chaos this game should have.
I do think the game was far more "Loony and cartoony" then which really helped. If they could just also make some moves more punishable on whiff or at the very least have consistency, I'd think the game would've been in a good spot.. The game is just kind of "Okay" at the moment but thats fine with me because I play a lot of different games. I haven't touched MVS in a week.
my hot take is that that jason nerf to his jab took away basically anything he could do. Having that loop that wasnt even to death was his best means of getting in since its his fastest move. It only worked if you were close to him, and now getting in is mostly reliant on the opponent messing up or air down b mixups, and you dont get any combos or damage off of those. he should also get more armor on certain attacks, if a character like superman can have armor on his charge attacks and good combos, jason should too with being similar size. idk if that last part is a hot take but yea
Hot Take: Banana Guard is the closet thing to a real smash character in multiversus. Also he gets an unnecessary amount of hate. There's so many more annoying characters than him
I only disliked him in 2v2s. Especially in solo queue because so many players just run into his hitboxes. In 1v1s Banana kind of sucks. His approaches are too one dimensional and most of his moves are very telegraphed. Offline I'm certain both his side Bs are easy parry bait. Online it's 50/50 because some people's net is super trash. But I agree he's very smash like. No crazy combos and relies on good neutral and the occasional stray hit.
Just have a monster mash Playlist when godzilla and kong drop. Then give them 2 or 3 stages specifically designed with them in mind and I think they'd all be set.
Hot takes: #1: Tom & Jerry is the only perfectly made character in this game. They require skill to play which balances the character, the animations for Tom & Jerry's attacks are also perfect too. #2: Finn's BMO upgrade needs to be deleted, scrapped, or heavily nerfed or reworked. It's WAY too annoying. #3: Jake might be overpowered, it's just that most of you aren't good at him. #4: Banana Guard gets destroyed by every character, he is way too predictable and just a noob character. #5: Dexter's Laboratory is a terrible map. Cool design but horrible to fight on.
@@BPlusEfforts actually tbh looking at my hot take on tom and jerry again idk if he requires too much skill, i slightly disagree with it now and i feel like i was just glazing
probably not-so hot take: multiversus should add characters from indie games. there are so many options and it would probably bump the popularity a ton if you could play as V1 ultrakill or some shit
I BIG TIME AGREE but in terms of being realistic I know Warner Bros is not interested in any small time collaboration efforts. Historically speaking even with Mortal Kombat and DC Comics the smallest thing I remember them ever doing crossover stuff with is RWBY. And that wasn't until roosterteeth was a household name (before the closing). And they seem to be avoiding game characters all together. So maybe indie film/cartoon characters? So I agree but I know that's basically Mission Impossible. Speaking of which we're more likely to get Tom Cruise as his Mission Impossible character before we get something cool.
You should try Rivals of Aether. It’s got a steam workshop with a lot of silly mods but also a ridiculous amount of high quality ones ranging from IP characters to really fun original ones
Joker's not too hard as Jason, Finn is a problem for anyone, but I think they like fighting him for the role play element. Because, and I have gone back and forth on this, I consider Finn a teen, which puts him right into Jason's target demographic along side shaggy and Velma. Oh no, Tom and Jerry are the most annoying, like 99% of players don't know how to use them, which fair neither do I, but that 1% who get them play like crack heads with speed force. They don't use their mage ability, they lock you into a loop of frying pans and paddle ball, and you can't put the distance between you needed to launch a counter attack. Oh yeah, no, Jason has issues, like god help you if there are platforms in the level, but once you get a handle on him you can dominate even against a suboptimal match up. Like Jack is a nightmare to go up against as Jason, he has several atacks that will cover most of the map and hits both in front of him and behind him, and he can snipe you easy on a platform if you slip up, but even against this Jason slayer, I've won matches against players who can play him like a fiddle.
It’s still a valid issue. Just because someone’s stronger doesn’t mean their kit is interesting or fun to you. Preferably, characters who are way too strong and characters who are way too weak should be balanced so that you know, you can play the character you actually like playing. Wanting your favorite character to be up to snuff with the rest of the roster isn’t that crazy of a request
@@robbierotten2024 there will never be a balanced game, because there’s too much characters, play styles, scenarios to take in to consideration, people need to realize there will always be a meta and if you’re not gonna abuse the meta then you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage,I get that people wanna play fun characters or characters they want but they also gotta realize they either need to abuse the meta or get good with their character
@@idrinkBleachDude there’s a difference between a meta and an imbalanced game though. Just because a characters not meta doesn’t mean they’re weak comparatively. They can be perfectly fine to play, even though in the meta another character is better. The issue is when a character becomes so weak or strong comparatively, it becomes a detriment to even try to play the non-meta character. For pretty much any well balanced fighter, most the cast you can play fine and even win tournaments even though your choice of wasn’t the meta character choice and is technically the worse character, which is the optimal range to be at I believe. Not every character being equal, but every character being somewhat viable even if some are better than others.
I kind of talk about this point funny enough in the video dropping today. It's a Steven universe so stay tuned. I'd like to know how you feel about the take in it.
4:25 that ain’t even true anymore since morty’s mud wall got nerfed to the ground (deserved), and by trying to make his melee attacks better, they devs just made his axe worse. Which makes morty players to rely on a stun gun with cooldown, a really slow jab compared to all the other characters, a predictable mud wall that can be dodged easily or jumped over, a really bad down air, a worse version of the axe attack, and nades that are difficult to use. Morty was made just to be an annoying character due to most of his melee attacks being bad. Thus, having to rely on projectiles and camp because most characters have better melee attacks than morty.
Hot take rein-dog mains only spam like at that point just main Marvin look I know he's the weakest character but might as well just be a good spammer other then rein-dog because it just gets annoying
@BPlusEfforts well given i was a Playstation kid and didnt get into Nintendo til my teenage years i just have more attachment to the characters in multiversus lol
Tom and Jerry shouldn’t explode so much it’s a cat they have 9 lives he should king at coming back to the ring like a comical level of coming back to the ring imagine his goofy ass floating back down makes more sense
I've stopped playing Morty and switched to Agent Smith bc I hate how the devs gutted morty to only making his dirt viable in the process. Back in the beta, I barely used dirt; crazy, I know. But now, with his grenade set-ups gone among other techs, he's just boring. The skill to reward ratio is out of wack. I see other mortys and feel so bad bc they are trying so hard just to get stomped(literally, just jump). (also your telling on yourself of you say morty is strong) And with that, get saved through Jesus Christ, God bless.
I won't say that Morty is super strong. However, his game plan is very one dimensional and is not the most "fun" to fight or engaging, which comes to really fundamentally bad character design. He's got some fun tools in the kit, but you're almost deterred from using anything that's not dirt currently, as you said. Beta Morty didn't even need dirt, I only used it then to split the grenades, almost never to even hit the opponent.
@BPlusEfforts exactly, I wish they'd revert it, but I doubt it. It's still funny to see people put morty in STier, tho. His game plan is super predictable, I rarely lose to mortys, lol.
Don't worry all future uploads won't have this problem. I experimented with a new audio settings. Sounds good on my headphones and speakers but not so much on my phones speakers. My b.

You should try Rivals of Aether. It’s got a steam workshop with a lot of silly mods but also a ridiculous amount of high quality ones ranging from IP characters to really fun original ones
@@bucketman3095 i would but i’m too broke
@@JustALittleAcoustic absolutely fair, but if you see it on sale and you’re bored I’d give it a recommendation!
Hot Take : Instead of complaining about how "broken" a character is and how "weak" yours is make the switch
I can respect that
It’s still a valid issue.
Fin and joker all play the same. Its too easy to predict their moves and dodges
I don't play like other Finn's I barely even charge my moves and I get W's just fine🤷🏾♂️
Brother who are the finns you're fighting????!!!!
Hell nah they ain't the same
@@omarshady4891 all the same. Without the zero to death, they’re absolute trash 🤣🤣 so dam predictable

Hottake: Fuck certain gizmo mains.
The mask needs to be in their game
Hot take rein-dog mains only spam like at that point just main Marvin look I know he's the weakest character but might as well just be a good spammer other then rein-dog because it just gets annoying
The Steven video that drops today kind of touches on this a bit. Keep an eye out. Cause I kind of agree.
Just give me a regular show character plzzzz
I'm down with that.
Hotter take: Rosters already better than smash 0:04
I actually like this 😂
Ayo!?
@BPlusEfforts well given i was a Playstation kid and didnt get into Nintendo til my teenage years i just have more attachment to the characters in multiversus lol
All I’m saying is multiversus been fun since I been banned for the last week
How did you get banned!?
Tom and Jerry shouldn’t explode so much it’s a cat they have 9 lives he should king at coming back to the ring like a comical level of coming back to the ring imagine his goofy ass floating back down makes more sense
Steven is a Cool character.
I agree. Steven video is scheduled to drop tonight. Stay tuned and enjoy!
@@BPlusEfforts I will.
(also your telling on yourself of you say morty is strong)
And with that, get saved through Jesus Christ, God bless.
His game plan is super predictable,
I rarely lose to mortys, lol.
Tom and jerry are probably bottom 6. Fuck you if you think hes broken....literally hardest character to play
damn the music is loud
Don't worry all future uploads won't have this problem. I experimented with a new audio settings. Sounds good on my headphones and speakers but not so much on my phones speakers. My b.
W vid but the music a lil loud n distracting
Sorry about that I did try something a bit different with the sound format. Will make sure the sound woes are a thing of the past next time.
