Bigern!! How's it going me and my buddies love watching your videos on a discord call all at the same time together is a great experience. Most of the people here are real world pilots working up to their ATP. Your videos re great and lovely however it would be great if we could see more stuff like perhaps showing the Release like how much fuel you're carrying if there is any MEL's the remarks, just simple stuff like that. A bit more of the insights like any walkarounds ETC. OFC that doesn't show sensitive information like desk Phone number, or doesn't violate any company procedures ETC. This would greatly make your videos better. I'm a big SWA fan, keep it up brotha. A's off B's On!!
Ern! I remember watching you with 3 stripes and your captains would always compliment your work, they had such an inspired look in their eyes after flying with you . Even as a viewer it’s inspiring to see you fly, you have such a passion and a heart for your work and you inspire young pilots with your hard work . I applaud you Ern keep doing what you’re doing !
I love your positivity. I’ve never flown a plane. Just a 53 year old that owns an ace hardware. But the way you go about your business is inspiring. Thank you.
I flew from Nashville to Dallas a few years ago and we had to detour through South Texas to avoid a long squall line. I think that trip turned a 2 hr flight into a 3.5 hr flight! 🤠
Great video Big Ern!! Loved the trip from HOU to PHX. Back in my airline days it was Phoenix Sky Harbor where the dominant carriers were T-Way and AAL. Frontier and Bonanza were the regionals…1960s and early 70s. ✈️
You are absolutely blessed in your profession, being among the clouds, the beautiful things you see, flying the plane, I dont think I can find the strenght to add more, I'm sure you know thought. The best I could have been is an FA & thats fine, not good with math😪😭.Have a blessed Labor Day weekend.✈️✈️✈️❤️💛💥
Great and interesting video. Also as a former educator I love that you and your colleagues present information on how our young people can get into aviation.
@@FlyingwithBigErn I'm addicted to CfA myself! I have an account with them too! I LOVE getting their deluxe sandwiches with Colby Jack cheese (no pickles though) and an Oreo milkshake!
Good afternoon Big Erin…appreciate all that you do, not only your job, but all your video content! It is always awesome, so THANK YOU!! Next time you fly with Phil, please ask him about more information on the interview process for the regionals. Thank you and keep the dirty side down!
Would love to hear what kind of weather radar you have. Antenna size, beam width etc. Also what tilt settings you use enroute. Also what your technique is for overflying thunderstorms if tops allow. Thanks, John CFII/SMEL, ATP/SMEL. Former C-5A/B pilot
When are we going to see u in the Green Machine 💚 again on your way to UND to visit your daughter or with your Partner in the Green machine!! You and Captain Amy from SWA need to do a video together Love the channel ❤😊
Thank you for a different type video. Nicely done, Sir. Question: when you request a deviation from the flight plan route because of storm cells, is there a "rule of thumb" that ATC uses (like a 10 mile deviation, left or right) or putting it a different way, how much leeway do you have to deviate? And, do you have to inform ATC of how much you wish to deviate? Thank you.
As seamless as you make all of this “appear”, Southwest Airlines potentially could have 1000s of inspired people lining up to get in their cockpit - this week along.
Hey Ern, I’m not a pilot but love aviation and your videos. When ATC tells you to make a right turn to 230 right after takeoff, what altitude do you make that turn?
I'm currently getting my A&P cert right now, do you think having an A&P cert has an effect on how major or regional airlines view a interviewee when hiring?
@@FlyingwithBigErn Love it!!! I hope to meet you someday and chat about airplanes and in have a collection of Southwest airplanes special liveries. My favorite is Freedom One because it represents our country!! :D

@@fred5727 Great question! We do have to request the deviation and it depends on several factors such as traffic, military airspace, etc.
When you are do you deviating left or right of course, are you just on a heading or are you on a new route?

400 feet above airport elevation. It’s a rule for IFR flight
