People cant afford it. After covid tickets were £5 and the place was packed. Simple economy of scale. Its not worth the extortionate prices they charge. Im making my own cinema room and it will be cheaper!!
That sounds like a great idea but personally I like the whole process of going out getting popcorn and all but yh it's just ridiculous pricing and makes it harder to go
£15 for a ticket, £5 for popcorn, £5 for a drink and I have to put up with sitting next to other people. Or I can stream it on netflix or amazon prime etc in the comfort of my own home. Pause when I need the loo etc. It's a no brainer.
In Staffordshire the tickets are £6 and myself got a cineworld pass for 10.99 a month for years that's cheap amd people talking about £15 tickets that's a lie because i have been in london Manchester Liverpool Blackpool cineworld and never seem a £15 ticket honestly 😂
we used to easily go every couple weeks with dry spells here and there ..but now, we've seen maybe 4 movies in the last year, and two were in the last two weeks (A Quiet Place Day One and Twisters,) but before that was Ghostbusters Frozen Empire at the start of the year, and before that was Oppenheimer back in August '23 there's just next to nothing coming out atm Deadpool on the Horizon, and Joker II in October - that's all i'm really looking forward to for now and the return of every spiderman movie at my local Cineworld too
I refuse to watch the DEI content that Hollywood churns out. I feel sorry for the employees at these cinemas, but the industry brought this upon itself
I Hope the one in Brighton closes £42 for two drinks and tickets absolutely ridiculous. Vue in Portsmouth is around half the price with more comfortable chairs and without the annoying wide screen that hurts your eyes.
After many years of I went to cineworld to watch deadpool and wolverine good experience but again it’s a lot more expensive and audiences have changed the way movies on a bigger screen have a different style of watching movies thow it a shame to hear that Cineworld will close down the bigger cities will follow
@@MrWillyMrBrightside haha i was referring to the meme of short hedge funds naked short selling AMC into oblivion no matter what. AMC can find the cure for cancer and it’ll still be shorted down.
The government has no right to shut down cinema in uk, we need it to watch the big screen like alien romulus, transformers one, venom 3 and borderland.
Cineworld used to be my go to cinema, however they never updated the place and vue was just cheaper a little further away with reclining chairs. Vue is doing just fine, so is odeon (who charge ridiculous prices on movies!) It's just cineworld is badly run, has been for years.
Nothing worth seeing. Too old for dumb cartoons, Marvel nonsense and Mission Impossible 27. Too old for the Missionary position as well quite frankly. Au revoir Le Cinema.
Ready player one was the last time i went and the audio was a joke. Speakers were farting and they turned the lights on half way through after complaining i was offered a free drink while i was stood with a drink. Nwver again
The media, TV stations, the cinema, prime, netflix still havnt figured out people are streaming off of fire TV sticks. Slow. Jeff doesn't care. They should tho. And do something about it. Boxing would have a lot more paper views.... It's killing ppv
good glad tower park is closing worst cinema worst picture worst sound system i won't miss it or any woke movies as i do not care for movies anymore that have woke dolby labs atmos woke

They have cheap days, plus meerkat deals. People just stay in with all their subscriptions
To see Deadpool and Wolverine at Cineworld is £7.99 for ×1 adult ticket... That's pretty good in my opinion
its 4.99 at vue

Never… ever the same bro, I support the cinemas and physical media if I love the movie
Shut up
Its £4.99 at vue
hmmmm. i'm now wondering if this reporter thinks "barbenhiemer" was actually a film and not just a portmanteau
🤣
It’s a 😢 shame, nothing like the excitement of the cinema, the trailers, the popcorn…
Increase in prices and Disney/Hollywood releasing agenda driven tripe
I can’t remember the last time I even went to a Cinema…. Thought they was closed..

3d/4dx is £14.19
Too expensive 😢
M4J is cheap, check it out

Stop profiteering! No ever said the cinema business should be as good as a gold investment!
I feel sad for Cineworld 😮😢
Show the latest Manchester video Sly. Go on. Silence only proves your bias.
Shocking 😂. The movie industry churns out junk. Same for tv and its why more people tuning into RUclips.
People still go to the cinemas?
Yeah alot. The re releases sell out
Yes indeed, when i went to see deadpool the other day it was packed.
So AMC stock price will go down right?
Up because they're offloading a debt-ridden subsidiary

The government isn't shutting down cinemas hahahahahahahha
it's not the government reason it's because there's not enough good movies
All watch Netflix now etc a drive in cinema would be good
Crap movies and overly expensive tickets and food.
Also nobody has money right now.
still waiting on a long overdue 'Beyond The Spider-verse'
1:29 🎉🎉
There's hardly any ever movies I like. I like Horrors, action, Fast and Furious etc.
Cineworld used to be my go to cinema, however they never updated the place and vue was just cheaper a little further away with reclining chairs.

Yeah I agree. My local Cineworld is outdated and really expensive while Vue is cheaper and looks more modern and the seats are more comfortable.

Au revoir Le Cinema.
Then why not watch proper films? Perfect Days, Hoard, About Dry Grasses...

Hollywood should stop making woke garbage. Or cinemas should stop playing them and have more independent films.
Have not seen a single movie worth watching in the past 10 years.
yeah ok and who cares
😢
ALLEGEDLY another lock down on the way so whos going to cinema anyway?
What hahahahahahahahahah
WUTT ABOAT DAVAYE ALUTTA PROUD HE'S NAULT ALUTTA PROUD OF DA CINEMA'S ANYMOEWAE ANYLUNGER MONN 😮 HE'S A LUTTA AUSSIE LAND BLOKE'STA VICTOM HERO 😮😳🤨

The concept of cinema is getting old
It was old when television became popular in the 1960s. Many small cinemas and independent chains disappeared. It's evolution.
