- During the wet rain the sword slipped out of the guard's hand onto the floor, his noble steed then panic.
The last ever changing of the Horseguard, under her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
That was a spook? Horse barely moved. Well done!
Agreed. The horse did an excellent job by taking a step or two back and caused no problems. That is good training. I was recently in Stockholm and saw a horse get agitated and the poor tuba player was thrown off the horse. They had a good protocol set to contain the horse, but it was not happy.
For crying out loud. That horse never spooked in the least. Don’t lie.
He probably just farted but he certainly did'nt " spook " LOL
These beuatiful noble horses are just so adorable & awesome (the guards are awesome too).
Perfection is never promised 😔I cannot imagine their protocol they have to maintain !
No spook there, great horse👏🐎
Not spooked but had the sense to step back pronto.
One forgot to take his (L) boot out of the stirrup. Made a new dance almost. 😏😏😏😏🐎🐎🐎🇬🇧🇬🇧🐎🐎🐎🐎
That's what caught my eye.
Never saw a horse barely startle at the sword falling.
Dignified guards!
Panic? The horse was startled, yes, but it hardly panicked. As to the trooper dropping his sword, well it happens. I'm speculating, but don't they usually 'return swords' before they dismount? Perhaps the officer forgot the order and this confused the men, hence the rather awkward carrying the swords and scabbards in one hand as they retire.
Swords aren't returned in wet weather to prevent rusting
@@kw2792 Good point!!
@@kw2792 Thanks. Didn't think of that.
Indeed. lol If you’ve ever been on a horse that panicked that isn’t it! These guards actually look better than some of the sloppy ones they have. At least they weren’t all slouching in the saddle and their uniforms looked like they fit. Sometimes they look ridiculous for military.
agreed, hardly a "spook"
Horse was more careful than the rider, he didn't want to step on it.
Spooked? He hardly moved! Who ever wrote that heading has never seen a horse spook!
Wow, somehow I missed all the excitement.
If you think that’s being spooked, you don’t know nothing about horses.
I’m not sure you know what spooked is.
Awesome
Those horses are huge
'Frightened' the horse, not spooked.
I don't like to see them walk off with the swords 🗡⚔️ in their hands🖐 like that! Lol.
Terribly misleading headline
People act like they haven’t seen horses or people riding horses 😂
Not on purpose, accidents happen even on well trained, regimented men and horses.
Nearly dropped that thing on my foot!
God save the poor Horses!
do their superiors review the process, why would you try to dismount a horse with a drawn sword, looks stupid ungainly, not to mention dangerous.
Change it please, it looks stupid!!!!
and I saw the guard dismount with his left foot still in the stirrup and he had to shake it out. I used to ride ...always get Both feet out of the stirrups before dismounting..if the horse spooks, one could be dragged...surprised to see this
What’s with people and their backpacks these days? My gosh! Can’t get along without them?? How did we survive before we had them?😜
Most likely tourist and people with kids.. I've noticed more parents are carrying a backpack rather than a diaper bag.. to each their own I say.. why get all worked up about something someone else is doing right?
Cost of living is so high now everyone has got their sandwhiches for packed lunch in their backpacks 🎒 😄
But yet you’re on a computer, laptop, or phone, @rubywingo6030 😏
Real problem with them, is when they turn round they take absolute notice of what they are doing and then you get a wallop across the head. Especially at airports. Im sure they are very beneficial to the people wearing them though.
No doubt The Royal Horses are as acutely aware of The Queen's increasing health concern as thei Royal Guards are..🙏🇬🇧💜
Horses are humans! Do yo really think these guys deep down care, they only make 33,000 pounds a year! The Royals are billionaires!
Es muy bonito todo desde Uruguay 🇺🇾
Baloney. Those horses have no idea whatsoever about it.
😃 and you actually believe that ??
Oh yt shows me another queens guard horse video, is this one also prophetic stuff
Can anyone tell me what breed these horses are????
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment has had a long tradition with Irish horses especially the Cavalry blacks. Today, 98% of the black horses in the Queen's Household Cavalry are sourced in Ireland and are of Irish Draught (draft) stock. From what I've been able to gather, they will also infuse some Thoroughbred or Warmblood into the mix. So, they are probably not one particular breed, but are more concerned with certain physical and dispositional traits. For example, they must be at least 16 hands tall (64 inches at the withers), be black in color, although some white is allowed on the face and around the hooves, but excessive white (i.e., stockings) is not allowed. And they must have a good disposition. Hope that helps.
@@packsaddle101 thanks for the information
Should he not have told them to sheath their swords before dismounting?
Where's the panic over lively imagination or what
Maybe he was tired and he almost fell asleep and he dropped the sword maybe cause he didn’t get any sleep 🥺
This is 2022, the horses deserve better !
Better than what exactly? Those horses literally get the royal treatment and they love their jobs.
Well, they get the royal treatment. Not sure if they love it or not--seems boring....
@@bwenluck9812 horses don't care about royal treatment, they just want to be themselves, they just want to be horses !
There is nothing humane about forcing horses fully tacked with human sitting on their back forbidden to move for 2 hours while standing on concrete surrounded by the chaos of London and stupid people.
I think the whole thing is ridiculous !
@@jjradV
At least they are not beaten or eaten as in some so-called civilised countries.
Horses have been used by cavalry for hundreds of years.
These horses are well fed, groomed and excercised.
They are working animals.
Just as horses were on farms years ago.
I do agree.
The only downside for these horses are the ridiculous antics of members of the public. So called tourists.
@@gazza2933 years ago people didn't have machinery to work the land.
Years ago it was ok to own and use people as slaves.
Years ago women had no rights.
years ago war was fought on horseback.
Just because things were done years ago does it make right or moral ?
This is 2023 , today we have choices, today we should know better.
Imagine being a horse and denied everything that is natural to you for the sake of human tradition.
Imagine being forced to stand quietly on concrete surrounded by the chaos of London, unable to move, lower your head, scratch an itchy spot while fully saddled with a human wearing spurs sitting on your back, not to mention a steel bar that has been shoved into your mouth.
What is kind or natural about any of these things ? Try and see things from the horses point of view.
This is 2023 if concenting humans want to stand guard in the name of tradition for the tourists by all means allow it.
Work is a human concept, it is not naturally part of a horses world.
Do you approve of horses pulling carriages surrounded by the filth, chaos and dangerous traffic in cities all around the world ?
Do you approve of horses and donkeys being forced to carry tourists around ?
Do you approve of factory farms ?
Do you approve of pigs being forced into gas Chambers so people can eat their corpses in the form of bacon or pork chops ? There are many wonderful healthier alternatives to choose from that don't cause suffering and death to anyone.
If you ever heard pigs screaming for their lives as they are forced into gas Chambers you would never forget it.
Do you approve of newly hatched Male chicks being ground up alive, gassed, suffocated or drowned because they don't lay eggs ?
Do you approve of Newly born Male dairy calves being shot, killed by blunt force trauma or left to starve to death because they don't produce milk ?
The cow is not your mother ,the milk is not your milk, the calves are not allowed to have their mothers milk. Their milk is stolen from them for humans. We are the only species that use another species milk.
There is a lot of suffering in a glass of milk, piece of cheese, dish of ice cream.
Always choose non dairy, no one has to suffer and die because of your food choices.
When we know better we can do better.
No Excuse for Animal Abuse !
Why you people exaggerate so much. The horse only took a step back, it was not spooked. I’m not going to watch this channel anymore now that I know you lie.
oh i feel for the guy xD that's gotta be mortifying.. and if I was one of the others, I'd have such a hard time trying not to laugh ^^;
Tiene una patita lastimada 🐎💔😘😘😘
Surely should have put swords away before dismount
All these people complain about the poor horses annoy me they are well looked after the Queen loved her horses she would not have let them be mistreated, look at the video were they are taken to the beach and allowed to run around roll in the sand and play in the water, you can see how much they enjoy it.
I didn't see any spooked horse 🐴 you need to go to Specsavers mate!!
Thinks have beens , I won't know why people have to point out little things
God bless us start and end your day with our ALMIGHTY GOD. THANKS From Lani D. Nepomuceno, Philippines
Is it necessary all that shouting ? Beautiful Horses
These horses need to be shook proof.We. taught children to ride,we put our horses through everything so no one got hurt.
Even a well trained horse can get startled
The latter horse being taken in was not sound, looked to have something known as stringhalt.....
That’s what I thought too.
I looked it up and it does look like that. Is it bad for horses to work with that condition?
@@jaray7710 not necessarily so long as the work is light, it is something progressive that stays for life, unless there have been developments since my days with horses, you could say I have my own stringhalt in my older age lol.
@@galelilley9049 thank you for the reply. I don’t have much experience with horses except the mostly rough treatment my father and his horse show buddies used on their horses. So just curious if the horse was Ok to ride with the condition.
@@jaray7710 Thankyou for your reply too. Sad to hear about the rough treatment of horses with your father and his buddies, I know of times with people like that too.
Yes the horses can still be ridden, as I say so long as it's lighter work. Stringhalt is a neurological problem if you will so not painful as say an arthritic or tendon condition would be. Nice to know you have and show a concern for the horses as I do too 💕
Wouldn't dismounting with sabers in hand be quite dangerous to both horse and rider?
Misleading title

How the hell did he drop his sword, bet he was in trouble
How annoying to be yelling like that
Disculpen pero que aplaude la gente Si eso acaba de ser una ceremonia no un espectáculo
If the horse spooked it’s because it has not had enough, or adequate training and should not be around crowds of people.
It wasn't spooked, it casually stepped back in order to avoid the sword as it fell...
Detention and 100 time you must right Iwill not drop my sword during changing of the horse guard 😅

Clickbait title!!! The horse wasn't spooked!🙄
Jaa die Prätorianer ! 🙄🤣
Deliberate ALL part of the 🎬📽🎞🎥📺
How long is a guard ?
They can be anything from 5' to over 6' though shorter looks better if they're all a similar height atop the horses. A shift lasts an hour I believe.
een paart moet je op rijden en niet de hele dag stil staan
That is not how you should dismount
Living in this Era nobody has seen a queen/king of this reign buried. It seem quite a bit much for all they putting these uniforms and the horses through.
This happens everyday. It is the routine as they change shifts
Πολλή ταλαιπωρία για τα αλογα
Ludicrous. Whoever wrote the intro to this vid obviously has no knowledge of what constitutes a ‘spook!’ The horse took a step backwards to see what was on the floor, no more, no less.
Meant anything….
To me what stood out more was the one guard dismounting from the horse and his left foot was caught in the stirrup.
So graceful. Not.

To domeone who doesn't kow horses, that was a spook...

The guard who dropped the sword was later fired!
Not at all.
Would like to see complete proof. Doubt it very much indeed. No one in the service uses the word Fired.

Horse should never had spooked. Case of improper training. Fire Trainer!!! Incompetent.
